Excel Data (Date Errors)

I have downloaded data from a system software in our lab that gives dates and other data. The problem is that teh dates are in some sort of text format so even if I change the format to a date format it still doesnt recognise it as a date.
The date format is in a 2 digit year format which is why the error is being recognised. I have over 50,000 line items with this issue so changing each individually is not an option.
Is there any way of altering these dates so that it recognises the year as 2013 automatically.

I'm writing a piece of code that puts certain values in certain cells based on certain criteria. (Vague, I know.)
When the code gets to the part where it puts the first value in the first cell (in a loop), it inserts the value and then the code stops running. Even when I put in "On Error Goto Err" with a msgbox that contains the error description, the code just quietly stops.
Here is a simple macro I wrote to see if maybe the problem had anything to do with something specific to my code. This one fails too, for no apparent reason. Could my file be corrupted or something? What do I do about this?

In a worksheet the data (text or numerical) from five columns are compared using the following formula.
=IF($A10$G10,"1ERROR",IF($B10$H10,"2ERROR",IF($C10$I10,"3ERROR",IF($D10$J10,"4ERROR",IF($E10$K10,"5ERROR","-")))))
The formula is working well. The problem is I get the result for the first column of error even if the error is in more than one column. I want the result should display all the errors with the column number 1, 2, 3 (or with column name A, B, C etc). The total number of error is not required. The exact columns which have the error should be displayed. For example if the error exists in 3, 4 and 5 columns, I should get the result as "345Error" or "CDEError".I use excel 2002.

I have a very long (> 2 hr) macro that sifts through thousands of files and creates a table of contents (more or less). Anyway, the macro will operate just fine when I am also working at the same PC but if I walk away for an hour, Excel will sometimes generate an error (application defined or object defined error). I believe that it has something to do with the PC going idle although it really isn't going idle because I turn off sleep and hibernate while running the macro. Also, there are only two locations where the error seems to occur. See below:

I have created several reports containing pivot charts with slicers, pivot tables and data sets. Total file size is around 5MB. Need to do an update in my pivot table Like adding an additional grouping on one of my dimensions. As soon as I start doing so the Microsoft Excel stopped working error message pops up and my file crashes! Removing existing groupings seems for some reason to be impossible as well: nothing happens when I do this. Ahow to solve this without having to rebuild all my reports?

how to protect my spreadsheet from data entry errors.
I have a column of data that must be entered manually (column B). Sometimes, the entry in column B could have been calculated by running a formula run upon the data in column A. Sometimes it has to be entered manually.
Is there a way to use data validation or conditional formatting to make sure that the proper figure is entered into column B when it could have been calculated by a formula to avoid data errors?

Here below the case:
List1 in Sheet1:

I would like to know if it is possible to have in a single cell the information about the presence of an error in the List1, because a cell of List1 got a value that is not in List2.
I mean all cells in List1 have to contains the same values of List2. It is like a data validation. But it would be nice to have a single cell with "There is an error in your range".

I need to identify the errors, duplicates, typos and such between two spreadsheets of over 4000 rows of data each. The Macro: I got a macro working, but it's not perfect. So far, it can only tell data that's missing on spreadsheets A, or B. However, it can't tell which are the duplicates, typos, etc. Please look at the sample for more details. I'm using Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium. Although this file is saved with Excel 97-2003 - because the computers at work only use 2003.
OK - Here is my dilemma. I've been creating a spread(work)sheet for work. One of the fields that needs to be entered by the manager doing the papwerwork is 'Date'. I currently have the Data-Validation set as follows because the paperwork being done is for the yesterday:

I have the Error Alert set to Warning prompting the manager to ensure the date is correct (sometimes a mid-shift audit is being done, so the actual current date has to be used). Now, what I am wanting to do is to also set it that if the manager set's the date for a future date, I would like Excel to also either do a Warning or a Critical displaying a message that future dates cannot be used.
I know this may sound trivial, but with this paperwork, dates are extremely critical and vital in the event of an investigation for cash shortages etc.
I have uploaded the excel sheet to my domain, which I can provide a link to - either here or in a private message - but I do not want to do so unless I know that it's ok to do. If so, I will reply with a link to the location of the Excel file.

I have a table of data (total 142 rows). Column contains dates, in the format dd-mmm-yyyy.
I tried to filter using DATE FILTERS->EQUALS and in the custom filter window, I chose EQUALS then picked a date from the date picker icon. The date I picked was 5/4/2009 (this is May 4, 2009, formatted automaticall by excel as m/d/yyyy).
When I clicked OK, nothing showed up despite the fact that there are 6 occurences of May 4, 2009 (formatted as dd-mmm-yyyy in the data table)
So my questions are:
1. Is this due to the formatting?
2. Is there a way to change the date format supplied by the date picker?

I have a SS of a WW1 casualty list and one of the columns is Dates of Birth but the data has been entered in three different formats eg 21/2/1898 or 21.2.1898 or 21 Feb 1898. I have tried to Format Cells and change the date format to the slash but after highlighting a number of fields and right clicking they will not re format. Though i use Excel quite a bit i am a general user and dont understand it in depth.

I have a set of data points with date and time shown in the picture. I need to take out all the data point that are at the 30 min interval. Meaning I only want to have the data points hourly only. What can I do to remove the :30 minute datas.
I have tried the find option typing In :30 and getting all the points but then have to replace, which I do not want to do. Need to remove them so they do not show up on the trends ( graphs) I made for them.
This is for excel 2007.
Seems I can't get picture up on the ipad, so the data points look like this
1/1/2012 0:00
1/1/2012 0:30
1/1/2012 1:00
1/1/2012 1:30
And so on for an entire year. Just need to remove the ones with the :30

I have some data coming in from another source system which has the date format as "DD-MM-YYYY" but while pasting it to Excel (2007) sheet some date fields has just DD-MM-YY format which disrupts my macro. I did changing the language settings to "English(UK)" ,which i wanted, and changed the same in Excel options as well. But unfortunately it doesn't work.

I am using VBA to export an access query into excel, the query works fine in access but when importing the data into an excel spreadsheet, it doesn't display the date column headers in the correct format.
The problem I have is that the dates 1 to 12 are displayed the wrong way round eg:
In Access date column headers from query are:
09/01/2008, 11/01/2008, 12/01/2008, 14/01/2008, 15/01/2008 etc.
But when exporting to excel, the above dates are shown as:
01/09/2008, 01/11/2008, 01/12/2008, 14/01/2008, 15/01/2008 etc
It seems to be changing round the dd/mm when I export, but only upto 12 when the day is 13 or more it is displayed correctly.

Data validation in an Excel 2010 workbook.
I want the date input to be restricted a start date and an End date specified in two cells on the sheet. However, when I set up the Data Validation, ANY date will be accepted.
As an example cell Z1 contains the date 1/3/2014 and Cell Z2 contains the date 31/3/2014, so in the Data Validation box, the Start Date is referenced to Z1 and the End Date is referenced to cell Z2.
But I can enter 1/9/2020 and the Data Validation happily accepts that date.

I have userform with date pickers and have text boxes overlaid on these, when I select todays date from the date picker it does not display the current date in the text box (I have 8 date pickers on the userform). If I select another date then reselect the current date it works. It has occasionally worked but why.
Below is the code for populating the text box from the Date Picker.

I have a spreadsheet where we will be inserting the Arabic Hijri date taken from a Customs document (bayan). On my spreadsheet I'd like to have a column immediately next to the Hijri date that would convert the Hijri date to the Gregorian date so both dates will be visible for our Arabic and Western personnel who will be using the spreadsheet.

I have a column of figures in a file sent to me recently which are dates but for some reason have been reversed eg 20140321. This is 21st march 2014. However I have tried formatting the number as a date (as we would normally see it in UK eg 21/03/14 or similar) and I cannot get Excel to recognise it as a date - I just get a long row of asterisks. How do I get a recognisable date sequence?

I am trying to calculate the length of time of employment. I am looking for a formula to subtract the date of hire from the date of termination.

Cell B1 contains a date, then B2 contains a formula that says:
=IF(A1>TODAY(),A1,A2)
A1 contains a green tick and A2 contains a red cross.
What I am trying to add is that if B1 contains no date then B2 needs to be blank.
I tried using =IF((A1="",0),(A1>TODAY(),A1,A2) to get it to show a 0 if there was no data but this doesn't work.
I am using Excel 2003.

I am using a combination of validation, vlookup and simple formulas to lay out a workorder. If I leave something blank in one of the feilds then everything that comes after say #n/a and won't allow the calculation to complete. Is there a way I can set a default value or something so to make calculate all the feilds that ARE filled in?

I have a workbook with data tabs (one shown here) and a summary tab. Essentially, one inputs hours for people in the Data tab (Tech) that are then calculated/summed to total $ based on rates I have hidden elsewhere in the workbook (not included). I'm trying to bring the subtotal lines (highlighted green) into the Summary tab based on which subtotal and what month/year it is. My formula works fine, except for the fact that it is returning a #Value! due to the "Hrs" heading for each Phase. I don't know why it's doing this because I've not run into sum array issues when mixing numbers and letters before. The error formula is highlighted in yellow in my attached sample, but below is a copy of the formula.
