Find the excel file in which I am looking for an formula which will look up variable in Col A for Eg USD and search the same in Row 1 and then will select COL D:E and so forth for other currency.
I am trying out with a code which checks for cell value as "Select" in column IU and then checks for corresponding column IV for value as "0". Please note that "Select" and "0" are populated by formulas. I need the select "Select" and "0" till the next "Select" occurs in column IU and delete the selected range and continue the process until last non empty cell based on column C.

I would like to use the random function on a range of select numbers. I tried randbetween() but it won't work for me since my range of numbers are not in sequence (e.g. 1,2,4,6,7,8,9,10,21). Using randbetween() might result in numbers not within my range..
View 2 Replies View Relatedis it possible to change the named range used in a formula based on the value selected in a dropdown. I have 4 named ranges NR1, NR2, NR3 and NR4. I would like to have a VLOOKUP that uses the named range that has been selected in a drop down. So if I change the drop down option I would get a different result as it will be looking at a different range.
It is not possible to put all of the values together as one named range as the intention is that I would select the range on a hidden and protected sheet so people would only see what they need to but I only have to manage one master sheet instead of having to create a new sheet for each range.
I'm in the midst of preparing a Year-To-Date (YTD) simple financial report in MS Excel.
Firstly:
I allow user to enter a number in cell A2.
Secondly:
Cells from A4 - L4 are linked from Sheet1. Cell M4 will give sum of A4:L4. Users are not allowed to change data in cells from A4 - L4. Users are only required to enter a number between 1 to 12 in cell A2. Upon update cell A2, the VBA shall sum the number of columns as entered in cell A2.
For example, if user enter 3 in cell A2 then cell M4 must give sum of A4:C4. If user enter 8 in cell A2 then cell M4 must give sum of A4:H4.
I have below a code that is selecting from A11 down as far as there is data and across a certain number of columns then sets a print area.
Currently the columns go A, B, JW, JX, JY, JZ, KA, KB as C through to JV are hidden. I have tried to offset the columns by 7 to see if it will select A-KB but it is selecting cells that are hidden and only selecting A-G. I need it to go past the hidden columns. Here is the code:

I need a macro to start at cell A11 and select across 10 columns and down to the Lastrow (last row with any data).
There are hidden columns after column D so it CANNOT have any columns hardcoded except for column A.
This selection then needs to be set as a single print area to print out on 1 page. I have already set Rows 1-10 as a title area to print at the top of each page.

I have a macro that allows me to select a range of columns and unhide any that are hidden. I am on the sheet "Employees", but the action happens on the sheet "Enter". I can run this macro when I am on "Employees" and jumps top "Enter" and works exactly as I want it to.

But when I try to run it as part of another macro that begins on "Employees", I get "Run-time error '1004': Select method of Range class failed", and Columns("B:T") is highlighted.
I have a worksheet in which column A:C contains slno,name etc. Col D contains numerical data.D4:D5 is col heading. D6:D41 contains numerical data. I want to copy the data from D6:D37 only. for this i tried the following but with negative result.
1.select cell D5.
2.press F5 and enter -to goto cell D37.
3. press control and shift and up arrow to select the upper cells. Excel selects from D37 to D4 whereas i want it to be from D37:D6.selecting D6 and then press control shift and enter keys takes me to the last cell with the data in the column, ie,D41.
How can I select only the required cells so that i can copy the content.selecting the first cell and then dragging the cross is not an expected answer to solve this.
I have a spreadsheet with a heap of raw data in it. I need to perform a search based on a customer name, then return certain columns from the raw data IF the customer name is matched in one column, AND a special flag name is matched in a second column. The customer name is always a single entry for the purpose of the query, however the special flag must be checked against a possible list of values in a table. I have a worksheet with a block of data. The size of this block changes.
I am calculating and storing the upperleft and lower right cell position of the block in say cells AA3 and AB3 on the same worksheet.
So far I have everything working fine.
Now I want to create a button to trigger a macro to sort that block.
I can figure out the button and make it trigger a macro.
One of the lines in the macro is
Need to select a range from colum A7 to E20.
Condition.
1) if the last colum (E20) should be selected if in the colum A equal to "Thank You".

how to set one entire columns text to two different colors based on another columns values. So for example I have column A and B. Column A has two values called Internal and External. Column B is a title table so the entire column is just titles. We'll say it goes for 20 rows if you need a row count. What I am looking to do change the text in Column B to Red for External and Blue for Internal. I tried the conditional formatting and I just can't seem to find the right option.

I have a Macro that already works great but now I need to look for another variable to sort it down even further. I think it can be done by setting up a "Case" but still not sure how to do that. It already looks through the range to find all the rows that return a value of "True". Now I need it sort those results so it only returns what has a specified value in Column "AJ". I am looking to do several choices (Listed Here). So the end result will be all the items that return "TRUE" In Column "AI" and are Items that return one of these values per Case "Starters, Appetizers, Soup, Salad, Entree, Dessert, Special" with then copy over in the exact format that is listed in the code below.
For example All the items that are selected with "TRUE" can be narrowed down to all of those that are "Salad" as well - Then copied over in the exact format that is listed in the code below.
What I am doing is breaking out all the different course of food and putting a Header in-between each (That is already built and working) - So I can select all the food from a master list and then put it in order on the "Catering BEO" Sheet with Headers in between

I want to select starting at Bcolumn through bycolumn but the row be set with the LR from above, since the rows always change.
I could write B2:by2000, but i want to use the LR variable to define the number of rows i have.
I have a user form that has one combo box on it that right now references one column of data.
Now I am being asked to have three columns of data and the combo box to show one of the three when a certain criteria is met.
I believe it would be easiest to have an additional combox with a change event when the box is populated with "whatever" in the field
So S:3 to S:5 have A, B, C
And EC:1-EC:59, ED:1-ED:59, EE:1-EE:59 contain the data that should show when S:3, S:4, or S:5 is selected.
If S:3 is selected then the list in EC:1 - EC59 would show and so on.
Based on if the value in col A contains the characters "TT" I want to select the range starting with this cell and ending at the end at the end of the row I'm using (.End(xlRight) and then merge these cells, change colors etc. And then looping this through a 'range' so that it only occurs where the values occur. I can amend various cells based on this idea, but am unable to identify the range and then merge the cells.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to select a range of cells whereby the range is dependent on the currently active cell. I know you can use the "Activesheet.Range("A1:D2").select" method to select a range where the cells are always the same, but I'm after a dynamic selection where the values can be programmatically altered depending on some other result.
For example, let's say that I make a certain cell active (based on the result of some other formula), and I want to select the range of cells in the adjacent column that is X rows deep. Putting this into context, imagine the resultant active cell is B2, I then want to select the range C2:C10, but if the active cell is E10, the range selected would be F10:F18 (if active cell is X, then range would be Y:Z).
The Offset function would allow me to position the cell based on the current active one, but it doesn't let me select a range. The Range function only lets you choose either hard coded or index cells, e.g. "Range(cells(y,z), cells(y,z)).select", but this is still no good because I'd need to know the index value of the active cell (can this be done?).
So I'm creating a UserForm that takes user input to create a worksheet based on the values input. My question is: How to select a range of cells based on a variable input value? For example, it asks how many competitors there are, and the user can input 5, 8, 10, etc. So I want that many cells in Row 1 selected, whatever the value input is.

I am looking for a formula that will select a date in the month based on certain criteria. Found the choose function but not sure if I can really get that to work. I basically have a list of clients, with zip codes, restricted days of the week - and would like the system to group them by zip code and select the best day of the month to schedule an inspection but not pick he restricted day. The goal being have zip codes scheduled together - but on a day other than garbage day. Is this even doable?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working with DatePicker calendar. I have two userform with date entries. In one userform I will have 2 textbox to enter dates. In the other one I will have 4 dates to enter. I used to have Excel 2007 with Calendar Control and used to work fine but had to make multiple calendar to control individual Textbox in multiple Userforms.
I am looking for a way to, If a userform is selected to trigger only the textbox name that is within that userform. If I add more entries the code adds automatically the date from the previous userform in the next one.

I was thinking that this would work but it still adds the date to my frmdashboard userform if I am in my frmdata userform.
Is there a way to trigger only the userform that I am currently in?
