Find Duplicate Data - Identify Which Entries Are In BOTH Columns

I have data (e.g. PPL0106AU) in columns A (Rows 2 to 104) & C (Rows 2 to 303) and need to identify which entries are in BOTH columns.

I've entered in column B: =IF(MATCH(A2,C$2:C$303),A2,"No")

This formula is resulting in a duplicate of column A in column B.

Multiple Identify Duplicate Conditions

I have a spread sheet in which an account number is located in, lets say, column A. There can be multiple duplicate account numbers here, and thats ok.

However, there is another column, Col. B, which has the name of an action. There are multiple "actions" listed, but the each action can only occur once for each account number. I need to identify if an account number is duplicated and if so, does it have any duplicate values in B. If it does, highlight the duplicates.

I am looking for the easiest way to find duplicate Work Order numbers that exist in 2 separate Workbooks. EX. Workbook 1 Sheet one contains the numbers 1-100 in A1:A100
Workbook 2 Sheet one contains X amount of the numbers between 1-100 located.

somewhere in A:A. For arguments sake let's assume those numbers are 3,6,33,87,99.
What would the formula be to return the values that are in both of the workbooks?

i have manage to get the loop through folders working ok via you freqently asked questions this macro is used to collate the total sum of expenses for travel, petrol, meals etc from all employees for that month.

the code used in the loop thro macro finds the data in row 35 of all the workbooks and puts it into the master file. see code below that finds the data in row 35. starting at column e and works fine

i have been asked to modify the expense sheets so that extra rows can be inserted as and when required ,this then could moved the total row ie row 35 to any row.

what i have in column "d" is the word "total " can the code by modified to search for the word "total" and fetch the range from "column e to column aa and copy it to the master workbook. There are 3 sheets in each workbook that have total expenses in them. there are also 3 sheets in the master workbook.

i have attached a copy of the expense file we all have

Find Multiple Instances In Multiple Workbooks

I'm trying to search through a group of Excel files for specific values in column B and then copy and paste the value from column C of the same row into the current worksheet if the search term is found. Thanks to some help from turtle44, I can do that if the search term only appears once, but if it appears more than once, I can only find the first occurance.

I have searched through te archives and found lots of people asking for the same thing. The common suggestion is to use .FindNext, but no matter how I try to use FindNext, it doesn't give me the results I want. It either seems to find the first occurance again or to find nothing at all.

Here is a simplified version of my code, if someone could just explain how to find the second occurance of "Use Code" and past the relevant value into column F of the destination workbook, I'd appreciate it and I should be able to work out the rest on my own.

1 sheet has names and i need to find the rows where those same names are on the 2nd sheet.

The formats are different (upper-lower case) and there is additional text as part of the cells in the 2nd sheet. (i.e prod123.web.corp.com) and i just need to find the prod123 parts.

Identify Multiple Maximum Peaks In Data Set

I have a set of data about with approx 7500 cells all contained in one column. The data has a series of peaks that happen, and I need to identify each peak value and place it in a cell. The peak does not occur at regular intervals but they are somewhat regular, as in within 130-230 data points. So, if one could find the first peak in the first 200 cells, identify it and store it somewhere, then look in the next 200, store it, etc. I don't know how to do that in excel.

i have a series of colums in which i have a formula for checking if each proceding row has the same value in the cells above ie duplication. i am using the following formula
= if(and (C4=C3),(D4=D3),(E4=E3)),"yes","") although this seems to work ok, some of the cells in colums D & E are empty.
what should i do to check for this.

what i am attempting to do is check for duplicate rows where the row is only a duplicate if the previous row is identical.

I have two sheets with many rows and about 8 columns. The second sheet is some of the rows copied and pasted from the first sheet. I have been asked to mark on the first sheet those rows that have been copied to the second sheet.

I need to check that the entire row matches before somehow making the corresponding row in the "original" sheet stand out.

Unfortunately, there is no unique identifier that I can search by. I have tried concatenating all columns into a new column on each sheet and then using MATCH but I get #VALUE! error.

My boss gave me a project and need to be done as soon as possible. Basically, i just need to join all of database and then identify duplicates and put them in another sheet in order to investigate if there are any double payments.

Duplicates can be:

- invoices with same vendor name having same or comparable amounts
- invoices with Invoice No. which match or closely match (in case we're mis-keying)

I've tried so many ways to find duplicates that fulfill the 2 conditions above, but still cannot make it done.

I have a report with ~44,000 line items. From this report, I need assistance generating a report that lists all unique line items. I am having problems trying to identify which line items are duplicates as I need to compare 4 different cells in each line to other lines to determine if it is a duplicate item (compare data from columns A, B, E, F)

For example, raw data may be as follows:

I have attached a sample of the spreadsheet with dummy data on one tab and the desired output on another tab. Note that all the data is broken up into blocks of data that is separated by data that is only in the first column of the row.

I have attached my sample XL sheet. Column A & B will be imported from computer system, only one p/n and quanity. Column C & D will be scanned in from multiple trucks and warehouse, p/n might show up multiple times with different quanities. I need to compare A&B to C&D and come up with a recount sheet that shows the difference as in E&F. Ideally this could be put on another sheet that could be printed out for recounting. Is it possible to do all these different functions automatically. There will be somewhere between 3000-5000 different p/n's.

I found a lot of information on this but not what I need. I have 8 columns A - H. Column D has some duplicate numbers. I would like to find the duplicate numbers in column D (they are all one right after the other) and delete the entire row leaving only the first. I do not need to sum or anything, just delete the row with a duplicate number. If there are 2 or 3, I just end up with one.

Summing Data From Multiple Workbooks Based On Multiple Criteria

I track distribution using 1 workbook for each sales rep. Each workbook has a separate worksheet (scorecard) for each of their locations showing which of our products are used in that location, for various functions. Each of the locations has a segment (bar, nightclub, casual dining, etc.), and a class (AA, A, B, etc.). All of the scorecards are identical, and are in the same file folder on our shared drive.

Sample:

Location A Class:AA Segment: Sports Bar Rep: John Smith

Product: Product X Product Y Product Z
Well: 1 0 0
Back Bar: 0 1 0
Cocktail Menu: 0 1 1

I was unable to find an HTML maker so this is not an actual sample but what I'm looking at. The above data indicates that for location A (Sports Bar, Class AA), Product X is used as the well, Product Y is on their back bar and their cocktail menu, and Product Z is not used at this location at all.

I need to set up an analytic workbook where I can sum data based on multiple and grouped criteria, and for multiple reps ie- display a scorecard that shows totals for nightclubs and sports bars, class AA, A, and B, for a particular rep; OR display a scorecard that shows totals for nightclubs, class A for a group of reps. Ideally I would like to do this using drop down menus that allow the user to select multiple criteria in each of the drop downs, having the data auto-populate based on those selections.

Name Range Of Worksheets And Find Duplicate Data In Column In Each Sheet

I have made up 7 worksheets that are completely identical with exception of course to the data they contain. I have a master sheet that contains some of the data from each of the other sheets that will be shared between them. Things were working very well until I discovered that some data was duplicated on a couple of the sheets; and I am in need of adding more worksheets.

The formula I am using for this will not allow me to have more than the 7 worksheets. It is an IF statement array. So now I am wondering how will I be able to add these extra sheets. I would like to use my worksheet names in a range but have evidently done something wrong and could not get that to work before, ending up with this very long 'IF'. !Can worksheet names be used to create a named range?

Also, I would like to know if there is a way to prevent duplicate data on these sheets. I am using conditional formatting on each sheet now, but that of course only works on the current sheet.

I have three source workbooks that needed to be consolidated into a master workbook pasting the data with values & formatting.

The Master workbook also contains 6 additional worksheets that link to the data pulled in from the source files.
My question is how do I write the code so the source files populate the master in a specific order.
For example, the 3 source files are named "Central" "NED" and "WEST" and I need them to populate the master workbook in that order.

Concatenating Data From Multiple Duplicate Records

I have an excel spreadsheet that should have one record for each artifact in a museum collection. The problem is that the museum has consolidated this information from several different sources into one spreadsheet and now there are many duplicate records. They want all the duplicate records removed so that there is just one record for each artifact, BUT there may be different pieces of information in each of the duplicate records. So I want to do the following:

- sort records based on Accession Number (column A)
- find duplicate Accession Number records
- determine which fields (columns) within a duplicate record are unique and concatenate those entries into one master record for each Accession Number
- delete the duplicate Accession Number records

In the attached sample sheet, for Accession Number 66-1-100, we have 6 duplicate records. In the columns, we have information which in some of the records is duplicated, in some it is unique and in some it is missing completely. The museum wants just one master record for each Accession Number and they want all the data from the duplicate records concatenated into one and all the duplicates and blanks discarded.

I have a range of columns i.e. 23 columns (i.e. B through X). Someone can write records in these columns (starting from B21).

Duplicates are considered the rows with similar data in columns 3 and 11. I know about the removeduplicate method and works really well but i want the duplicates not to be removed. Instead another column shall be checked for date of entry (user will entry date in format dd/mm/yyyy). The newest entry will change the value of the cell in column 4 (islatest column)to TRUE while all other records will be FALSE. This will work with the filtering of data on a pivot table on another worksheet.

Pulling Up Data From Multiple Workbooks

I have a folder which contains a number of Workbooks which were all built using the same template, therefore the layout and formatting is identical in each one. Cells A1:B15 of these workbooks contain information which I am attempting to extract.

I have been asked to build a worksheet with two cells for user's input. The first cell is the 'Directory location cell' and the second cell is the 'Policy Number Cell.' The policy number is found in Cell A2 of every workbook.

The idea in mind is that the user inputs the directory location in the first cell, the policy number they are searching for in the second cell and then excecutes the macro. The Sheet would then return all of the valuable information from whichever workbook contained it.

I think I need to compose a macro which trawls through the folder specified in the 'Directory Cell,' opened every xls until it found the policy number which matched the value in the 'Policy Number Cell' and then returned the cells A1:B15 into the new Sheet.
