I have a spreadsheet which has about 100 different SKUs in column A and the inventory for each SKU by period in columns B:Z
So for example B would be P1W1 and C would be P2W2, etc

what kind of lookup function would I use in VBA to find per say, the value of SKU #: "27017" in P1W2 ?

Apart from pivot table.

I have a very large table that has a one to multiple relationship in a GIS. GIS doesnt support that type of relation ship. I need to find records that are related to the single key but have different values than the first record for that key.

eg

Col 1 col 2 Col 3(key)
ab ab 1
bc bc 1

In this example, only the first row (ab) will be regarded in the GIS. so I need to pull out the second row and put it into another dbf based on the three columns so that I can then put it into the GIS so that the second row is considered and not ignored.

I want the function to return the value on the correspondent cell everytime I type a combination of column and line. For instance if I type "B2" the function would return the value on this position...

Multiply Every Nth Cell By Another Column Whith Merged Cells, THEN Find Column Total

Please see the attached sheet. I have columns B through a lot (B through O in my oversimplified example). In every 7th row in each of these columns there is either a 1 or a blank/zero. I need to multiply that 7th number by the Quantity in column A, to achieve a total (ie the sum of each result of 7th cell*quantity) for each column in the bottom row, labeled "Totals".

In the actual version of my sheet, there are far too many rows to select everything manually. I've been fiddling with combinations of COUNTIF/COUNTA and OFFSET, but I haven't come up with a way to check for the 1 in every 7th row, THEN multiply that 1 by the quantity in column A, THEN add up the results for each column. As you can see, there are 1's elsewhere in the columns that are irrelevant to this particular calculation, so something like LOOKUP would also have to look in every 7th cell and couldn't just look at the column as a whole.

If you can't provide an immediate solution, but can at least point me to a resource that would allow me to devise a way to isolate every 7th row (THAT part is the sticking point), I'll surely post the solution to my own thread with updated keywords if I need it.

Find Highest No. In A Column But Inclusion Is Based On Data In Other Cells

I’m keeping tabs of some clay pigeon shooting scores. I go to alternate locations each week and normally shoot 100 clays, however sometimes it’s only 50. I’ve used MAX to find the highest score in Column D of a spreadsheet and it did what I required. However I now wish to find the highest number in Column D - but only include rows if Column C = P and column E =100.

In other words I want to find the highest score for location P but only if that week it was out of 100 shots. It would return 66. Then I can do the same formula for location A and it would return 62. I can’t see how to do this and have searched the forum to no avail. It doesn’t look like I can just use the MAX anymore and I’ve tried incorporating that into a (nested) IF but unsuccessfully.

COUNTIFS On Filtered Table To Find Sum For A Column Based On 2 Criteria

I'm trying to use countifs on a filtered table to find the sum for a column based on 2 criteria.

I've used =SUMPRODUCT(SUBTOTAL(3,OFFSET(Sheet3!K7,ROW(Sheet3!K7:Sheet3!K7:K20000)-ROW(Sheet3!K7),0)),--(Sheet3!K7:Sheet3!K20000="Yes"))

for a single criteria which is great, but I also need it to look at column B.

In a non-filtered table it works as:

=COUNTIFS('Sheet3 '!$K:$K,"Yes",'Sheet3 '!$B:$B,B5)

Is there any way to do this?

Find Columns By Name And Highlight Them Certain Colors Based On Text In Another Column

I have a worksheet with 20+ columns. For this macro, I only need to focus on 4 of them. However, none of these columns are ever in a fixed position so the macro would need to find them by name and NOT by column position. Here they are...

1. Vacation Type (will only have a text value of either "Cold" or "Warm")

2. Vacation Started (will always have a date *x/xx/xxxx)

3. Vacation Ended (sometimes it will have a date '*x/xx/xxxx' and sometimes it will NOT have a date and will be truly blank)

4. Number of Days (currently has ALL truly blank cells)

THIS WHOLE MACRO SHOULD NOT BE CASE SENSITIVE ANYWHERE

Here's what I would like the macro to do...

Scenario 1 - for "Cold" values
Find "Cold" text values in the "Vacation Type" column
"Cold" values WITH a date in the "Vacation Ended" columnIF there IS a date in the "Vacation Ended" column in the same row, put the number of days difference between the "Vacation Started" column and "Vacation Ended" column in the "Number of Days" column.

The amount of days in the "Number of Days" column will determine whether these cells should be highlighted GREY or RED.

A) IF the number of days difference is 7 days or less, highlight the cells in the "Vacation Ended" column and "Number of Days" column RED.

I have an excel sheet I am working on and in columns F1:F2000 I have an IF statment, I need to be able to add more "IF"s to it but I will exceed the 1024 char limit. Is there a way I can put this formula into VB as a function called DocumentType() and then in excel F1:F2000 =DocumentType()?

Is it as simple as:

If i have a range say E12:O12 and want to find the last cell before blank, lets say it finds m12 as the cell with the value before blank. then with m12 it needs to determine weather row 11 in the same column has Text either "S" or "F" if "S" then m12 = t if "F" then m12 offset(1,-1) = t. And just to make things more difficult i need the range E12:O12 to step 2 as well until it gets to E208:O208 .Noting that row 11 never changes and will always have either an "S" Or an "F"

Find Last Cell In Column And Paste Formula In Next Blank Cell Then Repeat On Remaining Columns

I need a macro to find the last cell in the column, then copy the formula to the next blank cell. Then, it goes back to the last cell (above) and paste's values. Then, go to the next column and repeat the process. I can do this but have to call each cell separatly...however, I would like to do it in a loop to simplify things. It would be great to even be able to just set the start and ending columns. Here is my current code:

Find A Group Of Unique Rows- Find Non-zero Value In A Column - Fill Column With That Value?

There are groups of similar ID numbers in Column J. For a group of similar ID numbers in consecutive rows there is only one row that has a number greater than 0 in its Column L cell and the rest of the cells of Column L for that set of similar IDs is filled with 0s.

First for that unique ID group I need to find out which row is it that has a value greater than zero in its Column L cell.

Then I need to use that value to fill the rest of the 0s in Column L corresponding to that set of Unique IDs.

The process continues with identifying similar IDs in Column J and this time doing the same thing for their Column M. I have attached a sample file that shows the data and how the results need to look like.

Find Last Number In Row / Add 1 To Current Cell (if Another Cell In That Column Has Text)

1. Look at the "Days so far" section

2. Ignore cell C1

3. All the other cells in that row are shaded blue. Look at these.

4. Look at the "Volunteer" row - all the cells in that row are shaded blue. Look at these.

5. Wherever a name - any name - appears in the "Volunteer" row, 1 is added to the previous number in the "Days so far" section and the result is displayed in cell from the "Days so far" row above that Volunteer's name.

6. For example, we begin in C1 with a count of 12 days so far - this was manually entered

7. In cell H5, we see Henry has volunteered 1 day. The total no. of days so far should now be 12+1. Therefore, the number in H1 should be 13.

8. In cell G47, we see Joseph has volunteered 1 day. The total number of days volunteered BEFORE Joseph volunteered is 15 (see cell D43). But now, with Joseph volunteering 1 day, the total no. of days so far should now be 15+1. Therefore, the number in G43 should be 16.

9. what formula l must put in the "Days so far" row (excluding cell C1, which is manually input) to give me the "should be" results predicted in that row? I'm guessing it will be a formula which looks at each row fragment of the "Days so far" row, row by row, right up to the previous cell in that row, all within one formula.

P.S. I just want to leave the "Days so far" row blank, for any columns where there are no volunteers in the "Volunteer" row, so please don't give a formula which inserts zero for days with no volunteer, and then sums the cumulative total.

I have a drop down list in a merged cell B12-F12 and B13-F13 and B14-F14 . . . B30-F30.

I need the adjacent merged cell to populate a reason (text) based on the text answer in the drop down list or the entered text in the first merged cell. For example in the cell B12-F12 the user picks from the list or types in "Amiodarone." I want the adjacent merged cell G12-J12to automatically fill with "Heart Rhythm." I also want to be able to set up multiple if - them statements like if Amiodarone is entered then fill adjacent cell with Heart Rhythm and if Toprol XL then fill adjacent cell with Heart / Blood pressure and if simvastatin then fill adjacent cell with Cholesterol, etc. I have about 30 different options for cell 1 that I want to have auto fill in cell 2 based on the contents of cell 1. I've attached my file.

I want the user to be able to choose from the list or type the drug name in.

A2 is the given length and B2 is the given weight. I want B14 to net the answer of "Type G" because the length (A2) is equal to C10:C12 but the weight (B2) is within D11 and E11.

How do I formulate B14 to net the answer of "Type G"? This has to be flexible as the data in A2 and B2 will be entered in differently each time and B14 needs to find the appropriate "Type".

I want Cell A7 to return the letter before the highest value in column A...

I tried to do something using two cells, but even then I couldn't figure it out.
I thought a ROW(MAX(A1:A6)) would give me the row and I could go from there, but that didn't work.

Find Cell In Range Based On A Value

I have a sheet that has six sets of three columns on it. The columns are labels Ball #1, Number Times Drawn, Last Date Came Up. The first five "sets" are the same except the ball # changes from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to 5. The last set has columns labeled Mega Ball, Number Times Drawn, Date Last Came Up. Yes I am doing stats analysis on lottery numbers for a project.

What I want to find is the last date drawn for each of the numbers, 1-56, and have it go into the third column of the 3 column sets.

I will use the first column set for example. I have numbers down the first column A numbered from 1 to 56 (In series). In the next column B, I have the number of times drawn for each number, which I have working. In the last column of the set I want to have the Last Date Drawn.

I tried the following function (Formula):
=INDEX(Table1[Date],SUMPRODUCT(MAX((Item=A2)*ROW(Item)))-ROW(Table1[Date])+1)

This kind of worked. It returned a date but it was not correct. It actually said the same date for each number, which I know is wrong. I can't figure out where it is actually pulling that date from.

I should clarify that the drawing numbers are on a second sheet labeled "Mega_Millions_Numbers" in a table named Table1 and the Date column is A with a column label of Date. The table has column headings of Date, Ball#1, Ball#2, etc. through to Mega Ball column.

What I need is a function or formula to pull the last date drawn. I am NOT good in any way shape or form with VBA so if I can do this without VBA it would be best for me. I can follow along with formulas and functions well enough, just not VBA.

I will need to have this formula copied down 56 times per set and there are 5 sets so i will have to modify it for the other columns. (If your keeping track that totals 336 formulas).

I'm trying to find the last cell in a column where blanks might exist in the data and as such I can't use the x1down method to find it.

To add to the complexity I am finding the column so I can't hard code the column into the code. How to find the last cell correctly? I am passing these variable to a select case statement thus why I am storing the values.

In Sheet1 I've got a list of names in column A, then I've got a worksheet for each name in the list. I'd like to fill in column B with information from the worksheet of the same name as in column A.

Quick example...name in column A is Davis, want to fill in column B with a value from cell C3 on worksheet named Davis and do it for the entire list. Data being looked for is in same cell on each worksheet. Tried using a formula and dragging it down the list, problem with that is it doesn't change the sheetname just the cell.

I need to perform this search on various fields in sheet A. this is a small snapshot of sheet. Vlookup wont work in this condition as there are several searches I need to do, I cant change the columns.
