Gathering / Referencing Data (dynamic Table)

I'm attempting to list my data... I have a dynamic table that has the following columns:
number of countries
country 1
country 2
country 3
1
Egypt
3
USA
Egypt
Scotland
2
Scotland
USA
As you may have guessed, I want trends on these countries. That would be easier to do if I had a single "Country" columns but I have to work that way.
I would have wanted to work with a pivottable (because they're so "user-friendly" (not always though^^)) but I didn't find a way to do it.
The reason why I want to work with a pivottable is to be able to link my countries results to the rest of the table.. If that's not possible, I'd still want to be able to reference them and say "USA, egypt and scotland pop up 2 times"
I found the following formula (in E2):

Which works but I have to manually click-drag that cell down to complete my list. I'd rather have it grow automatically if I have to work that way.

In the attached WB I managed to write some code (behind Sheet1) to change the Source table, itself, into the requested layout. My question is - could this be done by ONLY Worksheets functions - preferable without any helper column - if possible. note that all 4 columns data should be transported to the target table. The upper left cell of the target/new layout table can be put in cell G1 or in cell A15.

I am trying to pull data from different Tables within a workbook by typing the name of the referenced Table in a cell rather than leaving it static withing a VLookup formula.
So far I have this:
=VLOOKUP($B6,OctTable,MATCH(D$4,$D$4:$V$4,0),0)
What would I do if I wanted to be able to dynamically change the "OctTable" portion with the name of another table which I type in call A6? I have researched as best possible and think that it might have something to do with INDEX, but I have failed to figure it out.

I have a a spreadsheet that pulls user information from our corporate address book. I would then like to copy that data to another worksheet for additional data scrubbing. The problem I am facing is that, I can get the reference to work the first time but if I pull new data down, the destination spreadsheet now shows #REF!
I've tried using the below formulas but they all wind up the same way. ' Results' is the name of the spreadsheet I am making the reference to which has the dynamic data in it.
=Results!#REF!
=INDIRECT("Results!$B3")
=indirect (cell("results",B3)

I have a selection of data that lists sellout information for 45 different Cable networks. What I'm hoping to accomplish is to have (on a separate sheet) a function that will automatically pull out the top 10 networks based highest sellout percentages and list them in order from highest to lowest. I don't even know where to begin or if it is even possible to set up as an automatic function.

I have a worksheet titled "Systems Estimate" that will dictate values on a second worksheet called "CSI Estimate". They're the same values in each cell and column, just in a different order row wise. I would like the values in each row in the A column in the "CSI Estimate" sheet to dictate columns B through W, with the values being referenced from the "Systems Estimate" sheet. I tried using an exact match with vlookup since the data isn't sorted, however it just returns the formula I enter, not a value.

Attached is a sample of a excel file I am using for tracking overtime.
On the sheet labeled tracking I want to gather data of the other sheets based on a date range.
All sheets other than the tracking sheet will be labeled in the date format mm-dd-yy.
On the tracking sheet in cells B2 & B3 will be the date range that I want to gather the data from.
There is 3 columns of data that I want to gather, "Balancing" "Approved" "Unknown".
I would like to return just a sum of these from the dated sheets M3:O42 based on the employee name A3:A42

I have a what I believe to be a consistant formula on lines S12-S18 for gathering the sumproducts for dates on column O. Only problem is that the sumproduct formula is not working on line S18 correctly. I keep looking it over and I can't figure out why it is not returning the correct amount for that cell.
Here is the formula I am using:
=SUMPRODUCT((TEXT($O$12:$O$500,"dddd")=R18)*1)
Please see attached line S18 for the error I am getting.

1. I have a worksheet with subtotal and total row above all columns
I currently use SUBTOTAL(9, A6:A6000) and SUM(A6:A6000)
however the no of rows is dynamic based on imported data so I want the range end (i.e. A6000) to also be dynamic i.e. refer to the last cell with data in the column.
Something like SUBTOTAL(9, A6:LastCell in A)
2. I also use SUMPRODUCT to do calculations
e.g. SUMPRODUCT (($B$6:$B$6000 = "ABC") * ($A$6:$A$6000))
again how can I make the sumproduct dynamically use all rows to the last active row.
3. I have tried just setting the second part of the range reference to a very large number but am worried that this slows down the calculation. Does it?
e.g. SUMPRODUCT(($B$6:$B$100000 = "ABC") * ($A$6:$A$100000))

I need to create a dynamic list from a table of data.
I have performance data for 110 different pumps. Data points are generated every hour, and the table is updated with new data periodically. I want to automate the population of a list of 6 different pumps, and specify the date range populated. To put it another way: I want to place data from Pumps 1 through 6 for all of November into Columns A through F. Then I want to clear that data, and show data for Pumps 105-110 for last week in those same Columns.
One of the main goals of doing this -- other than quickly narrowing a field of data -- is being able to quickly chart this data on a scatter plot with a custom format. The pumps are grouped together by region, and individual pumps have specific purposes. So I need to quickly generate graphs with a series' color scheme or formatting that is consistent and logical between different pumping regions.
I haven't been able to make pivot table work because of the graphing issue, and also because of the way it handles data points and presents data. I would like to make this work with excel functions and maybe some filtering, but I'm not opposed to figuring out a VB script if you think that's what I should use.

am working on a spreadsheet that requires sorting a list of names and numbers. The numbers have a sum formula attached. I can set up the macro to sort the list fine by selecting the appropriate cells and creating the macro.
The code for this is below

I'm trying to reference text from one worksheet to another. The data is all in column A on the "Template" worksheet, however the row varies (ie starts at row 5, then 7 the 9 etc). The cell row is always +2 rows on the previous row, and column A.
What can I use to pull across the cells with the information that I want, onto the "Report" worksheet?

Trying to learn the basics of how to pull data, from the same formatted excel spreadsheets, combined into one consolidated spreadsheet. I created a few examples below of what I am trying to do. Eventually, I want to be gathering data from over 200 spreadsheets at one time. I believe that a MACRO is needed to do such a thing. I am not sure of the complexity of the MACRO, so hopefully I will be able to mimic whatever needs to be done in my actual file. I have almost ZERO experience with MACROS, so if this is way above entry level MACRO.
Below I have 3 spreadsheets, and I want to collect the data from those 3 spreadsheets into the consolidated spreadsheet.

I'm using a table with dynamic data to populate a column/line chart.
The data is based on monthly targets achieved and forecasted. With each month, the information will update. The graph needs to have only the current month and future months to be displayed and I don't want to include the previous months information in the chart. The information in the chart automatically updates and loses the previous month's data. Unfortunately, the graph plots the blank data and has a blank entry on the graph. This means that the information I need starts in the middle of the chart and has a line that shoots up from 0 to the current month's value.
Is there any way that I can omit the month altogether?
The data source I am using is below:

As you can see, July August and September are not included. I want to be able to start the graph from October in the above example. In the following month, I want to use the same data but October Figures will not be required. How can I achieve this?

I have a two way data table for which the two variables are changed frequently. In the data table, for ease of reference, i usually highlight the corresponding row and column of the two most current variables the intersection of which gives you the current output. But these highlights need to eb changed each time the variables are changed 9the table is copied onto another document for presentation hence the need to keep changing the highlights).
I was thinking of configuring the highlighting process to happen dynamically, i.e. the row and column highlights change dynamically when the variables are changed.

I am using pivot tables/charts for drilldown reporting. After running a complex macro to consolidate multiple reports into one range, I need to generate pivot tables and charts.
These reports will change month to month in the number of entries they have (template will be identical), and therefore my data source range for the pivot table is bound to change. Therefore my question is, how to develop a macro that will dynamically change the source data range to the amount of rows?

I am interested in finding vba code that I can enter as an add-on for a weekly training report that I receive.
An example of the weekly report is attached. A Computer based training program populates the reporting tool with the date that the course was completed. Each week a report is generated as attached with the dates completed filled in the matrix.
The goal is to: Report the total percentage of training completed. I would like to be able to run a vba add-in that will determine what rows have entries. Perform a countA on the date fields. Sum the counta's and populate a cell with the % complete. In one simple touch of a button or keyboard function that can be ran each week without editing the code. These reports are filtered by department and the size of the matrix change all the time.
The hang up I am having is making the code dymanic enough to figure out what cells are filled and calculate and populate by that factor.

I've been given the task of automating a spreadsheet to assess whether work has been done by each employee. Every employee has their own spreadsheet, where column A is a job code, and column H contains either y or n dentoting whether they have completed the task (y) or not (n).
The main spreadsheet is designed to show any outstadning tasks across everybody so it has a list of everybodies names in column A and then any incomplete tasks will be listed from columns b onwards next to the appropriate person. Here is what I have done at the moment.

In this file Vehicle Fuel Tracking.xlsm I have a pivot table set up to filter my data. Next to the pivot table I have a column that Totals the Mileage based on the MAX and MIN of each group. I am looking for a dynamic formula to keep the totals alligned if data is added or deleted from the pivot table.
I would also be open to changing the data table to accomodate this request if needed.

I have a vlookup function which takes the data from a table in a closed file. A folder where the file would be located will change based on the value in the cell reference.
I used below formula which works, but every time when i drag or try to edit and enter, the path of the file path brokes and i need to reselect the path where the file is located. Is there a way where i can stop this?

I manage a team that quote for business. They are targetted on number of quotes per month but then also wins per month, however a win may come a number of months after the original quote was generated.
They work off a spreadsheet where they log:
Quote date (And month)
Quote Value
... customer info etc
Win month (against orginal quote information)
Win value (against orginal quote information)
I started writing my pivot using the Quote month as the main reference point, IE Quote Month in the Row, and then put all the data in the central drop data section... However, there are two immediate problems with this:
They are targetted on quotes generated per month, some business won has come from last year, which they are lifting from the old spreadsheet and puttin in my new one... meaning that quotes they generated in Oct 2012 are now showing up as quotes for October this year.
If the wins span a number of months they are showing in January (if quoted in January) and not in March (when actually won)
Is there a better way of writing my pivot table??? There must be... ideally what I would like is half the table referencing the Quote date and half referencing the order date... but I don't know how to do this? I could probably do this with pages but I would like to show all on one sheet...

I have a dynamic table which is linked to a couple of charts. The table must remain dynamic.
I needed to add two new columns to the table, "Focus Area" and "Category". I need a drop down list in the "Category" column to be dependent on the item selected from a drop down menu in "Focus Area".
I can get the first row of the dynamic table to do this.... however; subsequent rows all lock the drop down list in the "Category" column to the same choices regardless of what is chosen in the "Focus Area" list.
Is there a way to make dynamic drop downs within a dynamic table?

Sheet 1 = sheet with formulas/functions for data analysis
Sheet 2 = sheet with table
I am trying to reference a column in the table on sheet 2 from sheet 1. Specifically, I am trying to set up Data Validation that will create a list of unique values from a column in the table. I tried:

There is a space in the header name of the column. but I was unable to get the validation to work even with columns that have just a single word name.
I also tried:
[Code] .....
and that did not work either.

The macro I have has 2 arrays that at present has a representative sample of the data I will be looking for and hence allocating a relevant code. I thought the if MyArr was now Sheets("Sheet2").range("A1:A200) and similarly for MyAssettype using column B. however i just get a Runtime error!

On XL2003 i am putting together a worksheet that has a list of tables by month i.e. a table for January then a table for February below it and so on...
Within each table the data is referenced as follows:

How can I change the highlighted date to reference a cell containing the date? i.e.

I have a static table that contains a list of all posible components for a particular product that we sell. The sheet successfully calculates the qty. of each component required for a particular install.
What I would like to be able to do is to create a new list able from the static one that only shows the components that are needed i.e. those that don't have a zero qty count.
I have seen some examples that come close on YouTube but can't find anything that does exactly this.

I have a worksheet ("VillageReport") that contains several pivot tables. All tables are from the same data source and all pivot tables have "Location" as the first column field. I would like for the tables on this sheet to automatically be filtered when I select a village name from a drop down menu in a cell on this worksheet (C1). So, for example, when I select "Tarzana" in C1, the location field of all pivot tables on this sheet will show only Tarzana (all others are deselected).
a Macro for this? (I have already set up the drop down menu in C1). I have found some examples online but can't seem to adjust the code to fit my workbook. I am not very familiar with VBA.
