Generating Urls In Spreadsheet Based On Matching Cells.

I am trying to create a spreadsheet for an online gift registry. They require that the spreadsheet have the photo's url's in a column. I already have the spreadsheet filled with my data. In the spreadsheet, Column D is filled with unique numbers, some with parenthesis, (ex. 52011, 52011(2), 34132, etc.)
I also have a folder full of images that are similarly formatted as such
"...imagesrand_name_52011.jpg". (They will be moved eventually to a webserver.) Each number in the column may or may not have a corresponding image. And the images may or may not have a corresponding number in the spreadsheet. Is there a way to generate a url automatically in a column that corresponds to the image with the matching number? And if it doesn't, just leave it blank?

So basically I have a spreadsheet that tracks if a patient has turned in there required paperwork within the last 6 months and then changes the cell to white and lets me know how many days they have left until they are due to turn this paperwork in again. Then if it has expired I have a condition format change the cell to Red but I would like to add in the text EXPIRED to the cell. lastly I have Cells that have no data in them gray and I would like to add in red text saying No Paperwork.
I'm hoping this will be my last build of this spreadsheet so I can go ahead and start applying it to the real workbook [URL]

I am trying to build a staff roster. The staff rotate over a 4 week cycle. the name of the staff member, and their shift needs to be looked up from the key then matched with the particular week. the name and shift then need to populate specific cells.

I have a column of cells over 2000 rows that have a bunch of text in each cell. In the middle of this text in each cell are websites (not hyperlinked). I was wondering if someone wrote a macro or formula to extract URLs located in a bunch of text? I can parse this out but doing some delimiting but that will take longer.

I am working on a spreadsheet for a shoe company. I have separate columns for the size, model, color, and item number of a shoe. I get everything except for the item number from a written document; I then have to find the item number for the shoe from another excell document called the Master List.
I was hoping there would be a way to have Excell auto-fill the item number for me. For example, if a shoe is a Red, Athens (the shoe model),size 12, its item number (which can be a pain to find) listed in the row of the Master List is aaabbb. So I want to just enter in the size, color and model number, and have Excell find the item number for me, and fill it in.
I have enclosed an example. Sheet 1 is the sheet I would be working on. Sheet 2 is a portion of the Item master list, which is actually 50k lines.

A Column with 200 Servers (A1:A200) on the Intranet listed as server-1/, Server-2/ Server-3 ... Server-200/
Each Server lists a location of a file for each day (31 columns per row)
I am trying to check for the existence of the files on each server (The Cells contain the URL and File Name in Range B2:AF201) starting with server-1 check the URL in B2 if it exists, go to C2, Continue with that row until the file check is False (The Page will show a 404 error) if not found delete cell url and continue. do this for all 200 rows

I have two columns with the same data just totally different orders the third column (associated with the second) has data that I want to sort. I want to keep the order of the first, rearange the second so they match, and have the 3rd column follow the second to the proper location. i need to keep the order of column 1 so i can post into a massive spreadsheet. Theres gotta be a quick formula for this i just have no clue

I am trying to copy a row based on the value of a cell.
I have two sheets in my workbook and on sheet 1, I have a part number and a description. On sheet 2, I have part numbers again, but this time I the description is broken up into the format I need.
What I am trying to do is have excel search on sheet 2 for the part numbers, then copy the information that corresponds to the part number into the correct column.
I have tried using Vlookup. But if the part number in row 2 on sheet 1 match the one in row 8 on sheet 2, this will copy over the data from row 2 whereas I need row 8.
If this would be more doable using VBA, that is fine by me. I haven't been able to figure out anything in VBA or in excel formulas up to this point.

I have a list of names in Column B (Starting at B5) with assignments to them in Column A. I want the people who receive the file, to enter their name in B1 exactly as it appears multiple times in sheet. And hope to use conditional formatting to highlight (change the back ground color) of each cell their name appears in.
I've used a number of formulas in the Conditional formatting including "=(ISNUMBER(MATCH($B5:$B100,$B$1,0)))", Countif's and "Not(isnumber)..." but can't find a formula that picks up the whole text.

Having a bit of trouble trying to get excel to pick up text in one sheet (sheet 2) and populate cells in another (sheet 1) if the row (row 1) labels and columns (column a) in both sheets match. hope that makes sense? I've tried googling this to no avail, i've also tried index-match however i keep getting errors.

I have a set of sheets on a workbook that contain addresses, which are all combined on the first sheet (as you can see in the attached file). I would like to use a formula to compare the addresses on the Main sheet with the other sheets, then return in the D column of Main a colored cell indicating on which sheet the address was found on; different colors for different sheets. I tried to figure out some conditional formatting, but to no avail. Also, on occasion I have spreadsheets with 5 or 6 sheets containing these mixed addresses. Is there a solution that won't be limited to just a few sheets for comparison?

Can anyone help, I'm trying to create some test data, eg 1000 rows in excel. In each cell a formula (?) returns some text such as Dog, Cat or Rabbit based on the probability Dog=0.5, Cat=0.3, Rabbit=0.2
I've come up with a messy solution of generating a random number between 1-100 and then using a lookup table where 1-50 = dog etc... it works but is long winded and difficult for other people to follow.

I am looking for code that can generate the report that a user selects.
For example the user clicks reports on the userform. The report userform opens up. The user checks the monthly report button and enters the last day of the month he wishes the report to be for. i.e 7/31/2010 and then clicks generate report. when executed excel creates a new workbook and creates two sheets. the first looks exactly like the master data sheet from the original worksheet but of course with the specified data. the second sheet will populate a summary of the data. I will address that after i figure out how to get the first sheet compiled.

I am attempting to find a way to search through a database I created based upon every day of the year. My goal is to have a user input a beginning date and end date for a trip, then my functions will return the range specified with each day and it's individual temperature average (in my database).
I also need generating the dates between the start and end dates that are entered by the user. I was considering combining Days360 with an Hlookup that searches through a massive sheet with all the dates for the upcoming year and then going down 1 in the column for the difference in the dates in each column.

I would like to generate a dynamic list of the top five most common text responses in a range. For simplicity sake, let's assume that the range spans cells A1 to A20, and the list is generated in cells B1 to B5. So, essentially, I am seeking five separate formulas. One to calculate the most common text element, one to calculate the second most common text element, one to calculate the third most common text element and so forth.
I am currently working with the two formulas below but finding it incredibly difficult to merge them into a working format.
Formula for finding second most common number:

I am creating a userform to enter data in to my spreadsheet. The userform is set out as follows
1.Text Box 1 (Reg)
2.Text Box2 (Token Number)
3.Option Button1
4.Option Button2
5.Command Button 1 (OK)
6.Command Button 2 (Cancel)
Option button one is set to default as True,
1.I enter information in to Text Box 1 (e.g. Test1), Option button 1 is True, click OK, the Text Box1 data + the time and date (Now() ) is entered in to the first blank row, (date = column A, Reg = column D & time = column F)
Textbox1 is cleared of data.
2.I enter information in to Text Box 1(Test1) then Text Box 2 (1), Option button 2 is True, click OK, the data in Text Box1 (Test1) is matched with the enters in column D (Test1). If this is a match then the data from Text Box2 is entered in to the same row as Test1 in the following order (token Number = column E & time = column G)
Text boxes1 & TextBox2 are cleared of data.

I run a bowling leagues which as 7 divisions and 10 teams per division, some of the clubs have up to 4 teams entered. I keep a spreadsheet for each division which keeps records of each teams performances as well as individual. All the clubs have to register their players for which I keep a data base for each club, the clubs having 4 teams register quite a number of players. My problem is I have to manually check the data base against players being entered on score cards and then on to the spreadsheet. Down columns B & C on the spreadsheet I have the Forename & Surname, when I enter a name in the cells I would like a formula to check against the clubs data base and return the name or false

I am trying to make compatible for international users. They enter bike rides via a form. When the user hits submit Excel finds the date and then posts the ride info.
The problem is that if I format the date textbox (textbox1) as international the date inputted in textbox1 isn't being found in the column.

I have attached a document paralleling a document I am working on. The dollar amount in each spreadsheet represent sales. I have entered in values into the candy, soda, and chips spreadsheet. I have also linked values for candy into the total spreadsheet. My question is can I somehow type something or drag the formula down to populate the other cells in the total spreadsheet?
The idea I am thinking but which I don't know how to implement is to list all the items (as in column G) and list all of the relevant cells (e.g. B1 in the Candy spreadsheet) as in columns H and I (Note that all items will have the same cells but the cells will have different values...e.g. all three items have a cell B1 and B2 in their spreadsheet but these cells contain different values). I then try and fail to create a formula in cell B3 of the Total spreadsheet. I am trying to create a formula of the following nature:
='(Spreadsheet Name From Column G)'!(Cell Name From Columns H and I)
The Second half of the formula doesn't really concern me (i.e. the cell name from column H and I). However I am perplexed as to how to achieve the goal in the first parentheses above.

I have a table of projects with 1) duration in year, 2) time window (number of years of our planning cycle), and 3) start year of the project. I want to generate a list of project parts of all projects where they may take place. This will serve as an input to an optimization program.
So a project of 2-year duration should have 2 parts over any year within the time window. I am including the "impossible" ones for my developer to tag them as "0" when we run it through his code.

I have noticed that the basic problem I have is a common one on this forum with different varibles for different people. I have attached a dummy copy of the spreadsheet that I am using.
I need to copy cell information for one spreadsheet to one of 2 other spreadsheets depending on a dropbox condition. The master spreadsheet is the Issues spreadsheet, and depending on whether the user chooses Transferred Complaints or Transferred Offences (in Column K) I need to transfer certain cells to the Complaints or Offences spreadsheets.

Wondering if it is possible to generate a random 4 digit number based off an alphanumeric string?
Example;
Cell A1 has 123XVF1234
Cell A2 has 321AFW4321
In B1 I would like to have a 4-6 digit number that is generated based on the alphanumeric data in Cell A1 (and so on down the list). If that is possible, I would also need to be able to convert back the 4-6 digit number back to its original alphanumeric value
Example;
If B1 returns 643562 it would need to be able to be converted back to 123XVF1234

I have a cell (A1) that contains text.
That text will match a single value in a reference list (i.e. range of cells e.g. Z1:Z26).
When the match occurs (e.g. A1 = Z16), I want the format of the reference cell (fill color, text color) to apply to the cell of interest (A1).
The reference cells are manually formatted.
I know that I could create a long list of conditional format formulas instead of using the reference, but it seems that there must be some way to tell excel: if the cell value contents are equivalent, the formatting should be as well.
