1. Unhide all Rows
2. Check through all cells in Row, If all cell values in row is either 0 or Empty then hide this row.
I am familiar with the custom formatting option to hide cell contents when you don't want them displayed in either a chart or when printing: Custom > Type > ;;
I was trying to create a macro that will search a specified range and whenever there is either a zero or nothing displayed in the cell (even though a formula exists), I want to custom format the cells to not be displayed.
My range is Range("B5:I16")
I tried to create something like
Code:
Dim dataRange as Range
Set dataRange = Range("B5:I16")
For each Cell in DataRange
if Cell ="" then Selection.NumberFormat = ";;"
I'm struggling to figure out how to tell Excel to step through each cell in this range, evalaute whether there is a blank and if so, apply the NumberFormat ";;" to it, otherwise let it be.
Basically, I am looking for a macro code to link to an 'Update' button that will do the following;
I will have 2 sheets, one sheet will be referencing data from other sheet with the following
=IF(Log Sheet!A4="Yes",(A1),"0")
This means, if it needs to be 'referred' it will go to the other sheet, and if it doesn't, then it wont and it will show up as 0.
Basically, every row will have this type of formula for 30 columns, and i would like a macro code that will hide values of 0, but even once hidden, will then show them again if in the other spreadsheet i change the value to yes, meaning i want the previously hidden row to show.
I'm using a dde link to import stock data into a workbook. The service that I use didn't create time templates when they wrote the excel add in for intraday data.
Because of that I get zeros in data fields when the stock isn't being traded. For example, when I update in the morning the stock hasn't been traded in three hours, so when requesting hourly data I have three rows where the Open, High, Low, and Close columns are field with zeros.
Is there anything that I can add into the dde array that would have excel only import data with price value greater than 0?
I've been trying to weigh my options but my excel experience is limited.
I wanted to see if there was a way to hide rows that do not have a pre determined amount of values in a row (one after another). Attached is a simple spread sheet to hopefully illustrate what I need.
I'd like to be able to only show rows where 2 consecutive 0's exsist. Then 3 consecutive 0's. Ultimately I'd like to show anywhere from 2-12 consecutive 0's and have that selection available via the combo box.
I have created an excel document with If formulas. If nothing gets entered in that particular row, the row simply says "None". Is there a way to get rid of any row that contains that value by any chance?
Something along the lines of if the row says "None" then that particular row gets automatically hidden? It would probably need to be in VBA?
I need to hide repeated values in balance column after the last transaction.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy worksheet contains the following:
- Column G includes fifteen rows of a formula (beginning at G9) that returns a dynamic list of values based on criteria chosen through a dropdown box. The list can be anywhere from five to 20 values depending on the selection. When the potential matching values for the list are exhausted, the formula returns ""
- Column F includes one checkbox for each of the 20 rows containing the formula.
I need a script that will hide each checkbox that is next to a "blank" value. That is, if the cell in Column G = "", I need the corresponding checkbox to be invisible. Unfortunately, hiding the entire row is not an option. If the script could uncheck the boxes when hidden, that would be a bonus, but isn't absolutely necessary
I have a vba to hide certain rows based on 4 values (either 15, 20, 25, 30) are the choices in the 'ComboBox' drop down list. I also have the rows grouped so i need to make sure to collapse those back each time. Here is the vba i'm using, but its not quite right for some reason.

At the top of my worksheet I have a combo box which allows you to select a local authority name; and all relevant information in the worksheet is highlighted (using conditional formatting, extra series in charts to make relevant points highlight in red, etc).
I've added a series to the chart and changed it's type to line - then with the data labels positioned beneath the points on the line I can get conditional formatted x category labels - all outlined here: [url]
Because my x category labels are fairly long I've had to give them an orientation of -90 and make the minimum y-axis value equal to -200 to give enough room beneath the chart to fit the text in.
As I said above, the values below 0 are just there to provide space at the bottom of the chart, so my question is: is there a way to hide these negative values? I'm sure I've done it before, but can't remember how - I thought maybe a custom number format of #;[White]# would work, but it just inverted my text (white text on black background).
Is there any way to hide a row if columns 6 and 7 both show either a "-" or a number lower than 0.5? Cells in both rows contain a VLOOKUP formula.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to hide rows on a worksheet based on entries from DATA VALIDATION dropdown lists on another. Due to the fact that all the entries are on a different page, and there is no active cells or entries made on the "second" worksheet, the WORKSHEET_CHANGE events will NOT work. Trust me, I have spent two days searching the net for a possible answer and trying every trick I could find. Not to seem redundant or a pain, but right from the git-go, FORGET the WORKSHEET_CHANGE event as an option. I need a way to fire the macros from a formula change in a linked cell, and it won't be an active cell, nor will there be any kind of entry made on that page at all. ALl the entries (choices) will be made on another sheet, but the result needs to be hiding the rows not required based on the choices I make. There are over 300 lines and when I am done there will be only approximately 35-40 left. Right now the people using this are actually making copies of the workbook, and then deleting the worksheets they don't need (I am hiding those with an array) and then deleting the lines they don't need on the worksheet remaining. (Stupid and slow I know, but I didn't develop this workbook, I'm just trying to bring it out of the stone age) Here is some sample code with what I want to do, except it is of a WORKSHEET_CHANGE nature and will not work.
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Not Application.Intersect(Range("INPUT!M6"), Target) Is Nothing Then
Rows("11:50").Hidden = True
If LCase(Range("INPUT!M6").Value) = "100" Then Rows("31:50").Hidden = True
If LCase(Range("INPUT!M6").Value) = "100" Then Rows("11:30").Hidden = False
If LCase(Range("INPUT!M6").Value) = "225" Then Rows("11:30").Hidden = True
If LCase(Range("INPUT!M6").Value) = "225" Then Rows("31:50").Hidden = False
If LCase(Range("INPUT!M6").Value) = "0" Then Rows("11:50").Hidden = False
End If
End Sub
I've been trying to put together some code to hide a range of rows on one page based on cell values on a different page. So basically Sheet1 cell A1 value is 10, A2 value is 20. When macro is run via button rows on Sheet2 from 10-20 would be hidden. The issue is the values in the cells on Sheet1 will vary. I thought something like the following would work but it doesn't.
[Code] ....
Say I have two worksheets, "Sheet1" and "Sheet2". Let's also say A1 in Sheet1 could have one of four values: cat, dog, rabbit, mouse. Now, based on which value cell A1 on Sheet1 is, I need different rows hidden in Sheet 2. For argument sake let's say if cat is chosen rows 1-5 are hidden, if dog, 6-10 and so on.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to set up a few workbooks with 11 sheets. Sheet 1 will in effect be an index, with True or False values in say cells D5:D14. The True/False values will be generated by form control check boxes in some of the workbooks and by IF(TODAY()>xxxx formulas or similar in other workbooks.
I then want to be able to hide or unhide sheets 2-11 based on the True/False values in cells D5:D14 in sheet 1.

I am trying to hide rows based on values in a cell in that row. I have formulas in column xea that yields a 0 or 1 and I want to hide all rows with 0.

Using two Combo Boxes, I am trying to create an drop down outline form input sheet.
What it does is if you select the first selection in the combo box 1, then it hides certain rows, and deletes certain cells. If you select the second option in the combo box 1, it shows another combo box (2) which has another list of categories.
When I select the option 2 on the combo box 1, it unhides a bunch of rows, and activates combo box 2. However, when I try to select categories on combo box 2, each time it tries to hide/unhide rows I get this message "Unable to set the hidden property of the range class." I have no idea whats going on.

I am trying to create an inventory list that automatically updates the supply quantity when items are taken away from inventory. I have created entry cells where the quantity of items taken out of inventory can be entered (example, cell F2 of the attachment), and the new overall inventory count is adjusted accordingly for each stock of items (example, cell B3). These automated adjustments are repeated for each subsequent row for every time items have been taken from inventory and recorded.
I managed to get it to do what I originally intended with exception of the fact that it still present values on rows where there were no activity - or quantity of items taken from out of inventory (row #6 and beyond of the attachment). Is there a way of "hiding" these values without removing the formula, or possibly set conditional formatting where no values are displayed if no changes in inventory has been entered?

Using Excel 2010
I have a workbook wherein I have 7 sheets.Lets say they are called Tom, Peter, John, Sia, Mia, Tia and "Home Page". I have 2 buttons for Report 1 and 2 to which I want to assign the macros.I also have a table wherein I have defined which sheets I want to show. First Column of table has sheet names from A2:A6(Home Page,Tom, Peter, John, Sia, Mia, Tia). Column 2 has report 1 sheets - Home Page, Tom, John, Mia and Column 3 has report 2 sheet names- Home Page, Peter, Sia, Tia
What I want to do is, if I click on "Report 1" button, I only want to show sheets whose names are there in cells under report 1 so for report 1 it will be Home Page, Tom, John, Mia. For Report 2, it will be Home Page, Peter, Sia, Tia. Since I have many reports I want this to be one macro. Stepwise, here is what I want
1. Click on button for Report, macro should check which report I am referring to and select the range on basis of that. Report 1 = column B, if Report 2, Range is column C.
2. Basis the range I want sheets to show or hide.
I want to zero out or blank out my running balance in the columns where I do not have an amount entered. So instead of having my running balance total run all the way down the spreadsheet, I want it to be blank at the first cell where I have not entered in a new bill. I have attached an example of what I am trying to do.

2.There are per day production rate in E18 to E22 cell. Now whenever I will give value in H18 or H19 or H20 or H21 or H22, it will check whether the value is same with the respective E 18 or E19 or E20 or E21 or E22 cell. If both the values are not equal then give a message box "WARNING!!! YOUR VALUE IS NOT SAME". Can it be possible by creating VBA programming.

a) hide them if they are not hidden, or
b) unhide them if they are hidden,
