If I wanted to copy a cells formatting and content (Text) to another cell on a separate sheet, what code would I have to embed? I am a fresh neuling, so give it to me straight.
I have attached an example to this post.
I want to transfer the red and bold attributes of the words within the ( ) in sheet 1 to the cells in sheet 2 that I have linked to the cells in sheet 1 with =.
I'm looking to use excel to track a number of expense items accross 15 worksheets with up to 500 rows accross 30 + columns per worksheet. Many of the learned people in this forum have helped me get this far, now I need some more assistance - please.
In my speadsheet I have a vlookup formula that returns a value from another worksheet. Here's an example.=IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP($D3,Room_Configs!$A$1:$BO$3006,MATCH(M$1,Room_Configs!$1:$1,0),FALSE)),"",VLOOKUP($D3,Room_Configs!$A$1:$BO$3006,MATCH(M$1,Room_Configs!$1:$1,0),FALSE))
This works brilliantly. Now here comes the tricky part. What I'd like to do is append that formula with another one to do a vlookup on a second worksheet.
If both lookups return a value then I'd like the value of the 1st vlookup returned in the cell. If the value of the 1st vlookup is "0", then I'd like the value of the 2nd vlookup returned, and if the 1st and 2nd vlookup values are blank then a "0" is returned.
The name of the 2nd work sheet is "Non_Network_Equip"
Finally, it would be really great if the font colour for values returned from the 2nd vlookup forumla was blue.
I am trying to build a formula that will give me the 'Final Qty' listed. It needs to be based on 'indentation' level, listed in the 'Belongs To:' column. Exammple: Part 130-0014-02A belongs to 130-0647-00B, which in turns belongs to 139-0086-00D, so mathematically, 4*1*10 (order qty) gives 40.
Can this be done by using some sort of combination of Sumproduct, Index, Match, Sumif formulas? ...
I have a workbook that updates from external source and creates sheets depending on a cell range.
I have put tab 1 and tab 0 on either end of where the new sheets will be inputted, will never know how many sheets
What i need to happen is if someone fills in "complete" in A7 in my "summary" sheet then the values in row 6 in all the other sheets get hardcoded. This needs to happen from A7 down to A26, so A8 = complete then copy row 7 etc This is what i have so far
I get compile error here ........Sheets(ArrSh(1)).Activate
Also need it to work for all the other rows.
Sub hardcode() ' 'Sheets("Summary"). Select If Range("a7") = "complete" Then ' Sheets(Array("1", "0")).Select Sheets(ArrSh(1)).Activate
I have a column who's content is determined via about 6 nested if statements from data on that row. That cell is then conditionally formatted to a certain color based on the text that is ultimately printed from the nested ifs (simply an extra visual legend for the text). All of this contributing info and about 1000 lines items make a very large and difficult to print page. What I am trying to do is a make a summary sheet that simply takes the index number of these 1000 rows and copies or links the conditional formatting of the mentioned cell onto this number on another sheet. I have already linked this status cell and put it adjacent to the index number which works well in that with two columns I can show the index and status but if I could combine the color of the status cell onto the index cell, it would be even better. I am pretty sure another conditional format for this summary sheet would not be possible or be extremely complex since the contents of the index cell I am conditionally formatting have no bearing on the conditions for the format. Was hoping there is some VBA magic that could simply mimic the conditional formatting from one cell and put it on another.
I am trying to copy a column of cells from one sheet to another, but also want to keep all the formatting. The origin sheet has times, but when I copy these to the destination sheet they are displayed as decimal numbers (using the code snippet below). I can change these back to times by formatting the cells using the format painter after the macro completes but I would like the VBA to do this for me. (using 2002 SP3).
I'm basically trying to copy the text and formatting (colour fill) from a single cell into all cells I select. So far I managed to get the auto fill to work but the text only copys to the first cell I select of the selection.
Here's the macro I have:
Sub Macro7() ' ' Macro7 Macro ' ' Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl+f ' ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "1 Completed" With Selection.Interior .Pattern = xlSolid .PatternColorIndex = xlAutomatic .Color = 5287936 .TintAndShade = 0 .PatternTintAndShade = 0 End With End Sub
Is there any way to make one cell on a separate sheet appear EXACTLY the same, including formatting and values? As in this for example: Copy this value and formatting
I would like to keep the formatting, (color and bold), but I have not figured out how to do this. I read a couple other posts but could only copy the values but not get the formatting to also copy over.
I want to copy cells content from the sheet1 column A to sheet2,I was tried by the function Sum but problem is some of cells which i tried copy have combination letters and numbers as content.
Maybe, specific things is because i wont copy cell A2 sheet1 to cell A2 sheet2.
I have a workbook that has multiple tabs with data already entered. I have also built a series of tables/forumlas to display summaries of the data. My desire is to be able to copy this table with all formulas/formatting/cell sizes to the various existing tabs.
I am having a problem with a excel spreadsheet. There are no formulas or anything, just text that I used excel to get everything lined up. I haven't had any issues before, I was copying and pasting within a document. It was all text with different row heights set. I ran into a problem now where the text copies and pastes fine but the row heights aren't coping into the cells I am pasting into, just the text. What do I have to do so they will copy? I don't want to have to go an individually adjust each cell.
Look up a match on sheet1 from individual cells from sheet2, and if match copy and paste to sheet3, and i need this to be done for every cell in sheet2. Sort of a CTRL-F type of deal but for about 3000 individual cells on sheet2. The sheet1 contains about 10 columms with about 10000 cells all together. so to do this individually its just not posible.
copy range of data from "sheet1" to sheets named A-Z i.e A,B,C,D,E..... in the same location as it was on sheet1 e.g. if on sheet1 data was in B1:C10. i want to copy this onto the sheets named from A to Z in the lacation.
I have this fairly simple formula which decides whether to shade a cell or not
=AND($X$1<>"TBD",R3<>"None",AC3="Y")
This is set in cell R3 and I want to copy it all the way down the cells in the R column. However, when I copy & paste (and copy and paste using paste special, formatting) the R3 and AC3 cell references do not update to match their relevant rows. eg If I highlight cell R26 the conditonal formatting formula still refers to cell R3 and AC3, not R26 & AC26. I'm using Excel 2010 but I don't recall this happening in 2003.
I have excel from windows 8 and I am trying to copy the information on one cell on a sheet to multiple sheets. I tried the click on one tab hold shift and click on the last tab and type the information or press F2 or paste the information. Well, nothing works.
How do I copy the selected cell to another worksheet instead of sheets("Interior") ?
Code: Private Sub OptionButton1_Click() With Range("B19") .Font.ColorIndex = 3 .Copy Destination:=Range("P19") Application.Goto Sheets("Interior").Range("C20") End With End Sub
I am working with a workbook that has data automatically entered each time a new child is enrolled to the program. The child's data is automatically entered to the sheet named "Intake". What I need to do now is rename that sheet using the child's name as the sheet name, but also keep the sheet named "Intake" for the next entry. I would then like to sort the sheets alphabetically but leaving the "Intake" sheet either as the first sheet or the last sheet. I have attached an example of the workbook I am working with.
I need a macro… when I run the macro.. I want to create work sheet based in the shift time and copy entire row related to that shift time of all the cell to that particular sheet… there may be multiple rows related to same shift time but remaining data may be different..
I need macro to copy values from a Master worksheet on a daily basis, and paste them to multiple individual worksheets in cells adjacent to today's date (already crafted). For instance, a value of 8 is entered into a particular cell in the Master, it is copied and pasted into column E of another worksheet, on the row with today's date already written in column B. I need to do this repeatedly for over 50 worksheets.
If A2 and B2 on Sheet("Master") are not highlighted, copy and paste them into Cell A3 and B3 on Sheet("Job List - Numeric"). Do this up to Row 50 on Sheet("Job List - Numeric"). Once Row 50 is filled, jump to pasting to D3 and E3 on Sheet("Job List - Numeric") and continue up to Row 50 and so on....
I need to do this on one sheet in numerical order based upon Column A and another sheet in alphabetical order based upon Column B.
Here is what I have in code so far:
Sub Final() Application.ScreenUpdating = False Dim c As Integer Dim x As Integer For Row = 2 To 145 Range(ActiveCell, Cells(ActiveCell.Row, ActiveCell.Column + 1)).Select
I have attached a file showing what I would need the output to look like. I need to know how to search a range of cells (in this case column E) and if the day of the week is Wednesday to copy that entire row to the Worksheet titled Wednesday. I would do it manually but I have several thousand rows of data to get through, and there has to be a better way.
Here's what I'm trying to do (improperly apparently!!):
Book1, ''Master'' is the sheet, I'm copying info into, and Company info are the sheets im getting info from each of my .xls files in a folder, ie cell C2. Just in case, to be clear, I have all my vba projects opened from each .xls book, and need to copy, from each .xls book, in Company info, cell C2 into Master column A:
Sub collate_cell_data() Dim dest As Range, wbNew As Workbook, wb
Currently I have it setup to copy rows to a sheet "Report" based on a single cell value. But now I need the same thing but have it copy the rows based on 2 cells values to sheet "Report". So for example I wanted to copy and paste each row in my workbook that contain values in Columns N:N that contain the value "Test" and in columns AB:AB that contain "1".
Sub copyagain() Application.ScreenUpdating = False Dim sh As Worksheet, findThis As String, fAdr As String, fLoc As Range findThis = "1"
I have got the following code to fill series and someone please help me that how to use this macro I can enter thses code in sheet1 on enter event and the result iwill be displayed in sheet2 and if any duplication in series then it is copied in sheet3....
What I am trying to do here is to compare 2 lists in 2 different files, and when there is a match, then copy and paste the related cells of the matching name. Sorry if this sounds messy, perhaps the sample file I have attached can explain better.
Every month I get a new file in the format of “Data Source” sheet where the list of banks in column A and the figures in column M, AA and AB might change from month to month. For the sake of convenience, I put the source data as a different sheet instead of different file here.
I have an existing report template in the format of “Final report” sheet where basically I copy and paste the relevant cells according to the name of the banks.
I don’t think I can use Vlookup because the cells that I want to extract are not right beside the search criteria. If I’m wrong please correct me.
Anyway, assuming a macro is needed for this, I am wondering if I can create a macro, where it can search the list of banks in column A in “Data Source” sheet based on the list in column A in “Final Report” sheet, then copy the correct cells from column M, AA and AB and then paste them into the correct cells in columns B, E and H in “Final Report” worksheet?
Note that not all the banks in the “Final Report” sheet are in the “Data Source”, so for this example, row 4 for ABN Bank should remain blank after the search because it is not listed in the “Data Source”. The Data Source List might also change over time.
There is also this problem of the bank names from the “Data Source” sheet not being exactly the same as the existing list in “Final Report”. For example in this file, ANZ Bank in the other sheet have all the extra stuff behind, but we know it is the same bank.
I would like to use VBA to search a folder and copy data from tabs within the excel files there. The data will be pasted to a tab of same name in the the main file. All the files are in the same format.
So far I have only managed to list the files in the folder using code I found on your site!
I am trying to come up with the most efficient way to copy data to multiple sheets within the same Excel workbook. The original data exists within one column on a summary sheet (could have up to 500 individual entries). I want to copy each individual entry to a unique sheet (that already exists), but in the exact same cell location within each sheet. I would only want to copy the original data value and not any formatting. Is there an efficient way to do this?
In my example spreadsheet, the original data is on the SUMMARY sheet. Sheets A through J would be the target sheets, with cell B2 as the target location for each of those sheets. My example shows the result of a manual copy paste value process, but I am hoping to automate that.
I've seen a few threads on here about this issue but none of them do quite what I am looking for. I'd like for a single page "report" to be created when a user presses a button (which runs a macro, of course) The macro should be able to run through certain named sheets (even if hidden) and if a cell in any row is red within a sheet then the entire row or rows that meet the criteria should be copied and pasted into the Report sheet.
On the report sheet, for each sheet that has had rows that were copied, I'd like to have the name of the sheet as the header above the pasted rows so that the user knows which sheet the data came from. Any sheet that doesn't have red cells would be excluded from the report. I've attached a sample file but had to limit the number of sheets because of Orgrid's file size limit. Hopefully, you'll see what I am getting at here.
