Is there a really easy code which will insert the current users ID into a cell adacent to the one previously completed automatically? For example if a date was entered in A2, then B2 would automatically be completed with the user identity?
View 7 RepliesI have six complex functions, which I would like to place in [A2] depending on what is placed in [A1], The functions themselves are quite extensive and I don't want to use any active functions (like INDIRECT) as this will cause slow calculations. [A1] will just be a given name to each of these functions.

Presently I can find no way to do this in Excel.
i have a problem in that i need to generate a random 6 digit number preceeded by an X if the data in column B is either blank or 0. This needs to be filled in if the adjacent cell in column C has data in. i am a moderate macro writer and am finding this part quite challenging.

vouchers column is populated with a voucher code for every date date column is populated with dates beginning with today, ending with the last day of the year.
I would like to create a function that evaluates the date file, If date = today's date, return value in the adjacent vouchers column.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a formula in my spreadsheet that shows dates for servicing of products. Column F show's Date Last Serviced and the adjacent column (G) then shows Date Next Service. When there is nothing on the F column's cell then the date that appears on my spreadsheet is 31/12/00. It looks messy and I would rather have a formula to make it so that if the F column is blank, then the adjacent cell in G column should stay blank also.
To automatically calculate the next service due date, I have variants of this formula that creates the dates in G column:
=DATE(YEAR(F4)+1,MONTH(F4),DAY(F4))
I tried adding as an extra part, for example:
=DATE(YEAR(F4)+1,MONTH(F4),DAY(F4))&If(F4 = 0, "", F4)
It always brings back the answer of 366, and does not make the cell blank...
I'd like to sum a range of cells if the date in the adjacent cell is last month, so... A2:A1000 holds the dates and B2:B1000 holds the values, i'm trying to figure out how to sum all of the values for the previous month (i.e. June).

In my sheet I have a list of all the days in a year in the cell range of AJ12:AJ376.
Basically I want to find the date in Textbox1 within the range of AJ12:AJ376 and enter the value of Textbox2 in a adjacent cell. The adjacent cell would be in column AT. This would be achieved hopefully via a code using the commandbutton.
I have a spreadsheet with a column A of dates April 08, May 08, June 08 etc. Adjacent to each of these dates is a value in column B. I want to select the appropriate value relevent to the current date and use it elsewhere. Therefore if it happens to be Oct 08 when I open the spreadsheet I want the value in column B, adjacent to Oct 08 to be represented.

I have a list of dates in column AF. I would like to retrieve a value from the 2nd occurrence of a date, so I used the function for the Nth Occurrence on this website as follows:

The excel formula I am using is as follows: =Nth_Occurrence(AF2:AF622,AE2,2,0,1)
Where AE2 is the date I am looking up. My question is this: When I put in a date ("1/12/2007") instead of AE2, i get the correct value. I tried giving AE2 and the AF column the same date formatting (3/14/2001), but this doesn't work. The date I am searching for also changes, so I cannot just type the date into the excel formula.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a spreadsheet with 'due date' for returns in column L and 'received date' for returns, in the adjacent column M.
I would like to get the due date to turn red when it is overdue, ie. the date in the cell has arrived and no return was submitted. By trawlling the forum, I managed to accomplish this with the following in conditional formatting:
Cell value is less than or equal to =TODAY()
All's great.....but - I would like the date to turn back to black if I enter a date in the adjacent received column, column M.
In other words, I want to flag a problem if the due date has passed, but once I receive the return and enter the date I receive it, i would like the due date entry to revert back to the original formatting ie. black. So only the outstanding returns are highlighted.
I have columns of figures with times like 5:52:54 and next to them cells with values that i wish to format based on the time.
that is if the time on the adjacent cell is before 8AM then make the value cell have a red border it does not have to be conditional formatting - Excel 2002 in win7/64
If the value of the adjacent cell in column A is blank, insert a blank row through Column B:J.

I don't always start entering daily values on the first day of the year, e.g., this year the first value in Column C corresponds to March 9. All values in Column C are contiguous - there are no blank cells until the value in Column A is greater than today's date code. I would like to use a formula (rather than VBA) to look down Column C and find the first non-blank entry where the value in Column A is less than or equal to today(). In this case, the formula should return the value for March 9, 2008.

Rather then use a textbox, I would like the cell to display the date when text is inserted in the cell to the left.
ie. I insert text (the letter 'a') in cell E11, and the date appears in cell F11.
I would also like the macro to do this for a range of cells ie. for E11 to F21, then from G11 to H21, then from I11 to J21, all the way to column IV.

The I insert the defined function LSDate() into the cell i want the last saved date to appear in, but what happens after is that whenever i save the sheet this date doesnt update and when i click enter on the same cell it shows the error message #NAME?. So how can i solve this error and get the last save date updated instantly.
I would like the current date inserted automatically into a blank cell when I click on it. It will always be in the same column, but a different date on each row for that particular entry. I used to use datepicker.xla--loved it, worked great. But now I get an erroe message when I installed and tried to run it on a new pc. Does excel come with a drop-down calendar you can pick a date?

I have filters in row 2 (which is my header row) and what i want to do is filter column CH to show blanks and filter column CE to show non blanks. Then in every visible cell in column CH below the header row (row 2) i want to enter todays date - this is so a record is kept of when each row was detailed in the report. I have created a user form using the addins that come with excel to create a calendar that will allow the user to select a date and automatically put that in a specific cell. My system is office 2000.

i have the following code to insert comments into cells, however if the user cancels the input box (i.e. doesn't insert any text), a comment is still added with their details and the comment 'FALSE'. Is there anyway to stop comments being added if the user cancels the input?

I am looking to insert a date in a Cell when another Cell's number has been changed.
I was using If statement as: If(isnumber(f4),TODAY())
but I don't think it is working properly
the cells columns would be, e.g. "Consumables stock" and "date updated".
So if someone changes a number is the "consumables stock" column, date updated column auto-updates with current date. How would I go by in doing this?
