Interpolating Data In Excel Table With Missing Data
Jun 1, 2014
I have a table with 21 numbers two rows with x and y e.g.
so on ........
Now I wish to make a table with 100 numbers in wish y is interpolated based on y in the given table. Using many IF statements (in Dutch "ALS") isn't useful since the number of statements is becoming too large and besides is a number is missing e.g. nr7 x=0,7 the y is 0.
This is not working properly:
I have a problem with interpolating. When the residuel of a data point (polyline-data point) is 2x standard deviation (allready calculated), then I want reject the data point and it appears red, "rejected" and thick. Then I want to interpolate with the previus and next datapoint.
When 2 datapoints are rejected after each other this no longer goes. When this is the case I want to replace the data point with the polyline value.
I created a slick little excel sheet with the data coming in automatically via Access query. It has been working fine for months. Now all of the sudden there are a bunch of cells with missing data. The weird part is it's not as if whole columns are missing data, more like 90% missing. When I go to Access and run the query all cells are populated as the should be. There have been no changes to the query at all during this time.
I have one excel 2010 workbook with 5 work sheets, each work sheet contains a list with first/last name(one column) and the company name, some have a 3rd column with their email address in each sheet represents each year starting at 2008 thru to 2013 i have to find out if the people that attended an event in 2008 also attended it in 2009/10/11/12/13 and if they didnt, put their name and company name onto a blank worksheet within the same workbook without using a macro, how can i do this?
On occasion I cut a table from a website and paste into Excel. If/when that data is subsequently deleted from the sheet the gridlines no longer show. I've tried turning the gridlines on and off to know affect. I've tried setting and clearing borders, but that made no different to the gridlines either. Even if I highlight the entire sheet and delete it makes no difference. I can't think of anything else to try.
I have a set of data (assume 2 columns, one with a long name and the second with a time). The names contain variables that must be used as criteria (a single entry may contain "Blue" and "On"/"Off") and times vary, based on when the Name turns "On" or "Off" [in minutes: 25 (On), 47 (Off), 89 (On), 100 (Off) and 137 (On)]. I need to create another table that automatically inserts values for all times, to include the missing times (0 min thru 24 and 26 thru 46, etc.). EX: If the first entry is "Blue-On" at "25 minutes", the cells from 0 minutes to 24 minutes are each "0" and become a "1" at 25 minutes - the following cells are "1" until 47 minutes (where it is turned off). (1 and 0 represent "On" and "Off", respectively)
How can I created a formula to insert the correct numbers into the correct places? I'm willing to have multiple cells with formulas and simply hide the columns that are doing the calculations.
I am in the process of comparing the data between 2 different sheets and the data on each sheet contains 2 columns of information. I am trying to find a way to compare one sheet to that same item on the second sheet and see if anything is missing, however the second sheet contains more information between the two columns and the rows are never the same during my comparison. I've tried Match, Lookup, Indirect, and if/then with an And functions and because the rows do not stay the same the data is not accurate. Here is a brief example of what I am working on:
SHEET 1 A B 1 Red Delicious Apple 125 Count Apple 2 Red Delicious Apple 125 Count Fresh Fruit
So in these comparisons, the names in Column A match identically, so if I try to say take the name from sheet 1 and match to that in sheet 2 and if the wording in Column B matches then put a "Yes" value. But you can see on Sheet 2 by the time it gets to rows 14, 15, 16, the Baby Food Chicken has a 3rd item in Column B in comaprison to Sheet 1, so any type of match doesn't work.
vba in excel 2013 pivot table that updates from an online CRM rows are a to h and it can be any number of rows. What I am trying to do is track progress. In column f values indicate probability for success 10 25 45 90, which can go up or down. The pivot table is refreshed to get the latest values from CRM. the update is handled by a connection to the crm not in the vba.
So far I been researching methods to conditionally format values that went up, down or remained the same since the last refresh with up down and across arrows. I have managed to piece together what I think should work but alas it is not. So I have come to you internet.
My code first clears any formatting and goes down the column avoiding null or empty cells, comparing the values in column f to values in column j. I have 3 conditions greater than, less than or equal to, and would like add an icon for each based on the result of the comparison.
Finally when it finishes the column the code copies the current values in the pivot table column f to column j outside the pivot table which i hope to be able to hide once the cf works. The code is below
I have a spreadsheet that is updated weekly -- but every week new info is added that needs a user to input corresponding info. I use a vlookup function to link to another spreadsheet that populates the info from previous weeks and the info that is missing shows up as #N/A...
First I was using a msgbox function to get the info:
For Each b In myrange If Application.IsNA(b.Value) Then Employee = b.Offset(0, -2).Value SSID = InputBox("Please enter ID# for " & Employee & " :", "New Employee Found") b.Value = SSID End If Next b
But it can be up to 30 different new employees... and that is time consuming.
I would like to make it more user friendly by creating ONE userform that displays all of the employees as labels -- has a text box in which to put the ID # -- and then has a drop down box to choose the type of employee (2 options). I want all of that info to go back to the reference spreadsheet so it will be saved for following weeks, and then redo the vlookup to get the info into the new weekly spreadsheet (I can do that part)....
Private Sub CloseButton_Click() Unload UserForm1 End Sub
I have data in 2 workbooks. Book1 - Sheet1 - Col A and Book2 - Sheet2 - Col A. I want to compare Book2 with Book1 and list all values in Book2 that do not find a match in Book1. I want to run a macro for this
I have created a table in Excel 2010 (pls see attached table named post.xlsx).
Then copied the above table into PowerPoint 2010, using "paste link" (I tried to attach the PowerPoint file but the system says "invalid file type" and I cannot attach it).
I have received income data for another month - the new month is 13 and the corresponding new income is 100. I typed 13 and 100 into the Excel table post.xlsx and thus extended the table by another column.
Then I went back to PowerPoint slide, then right clicked on the table there, then clicked "update link".
The newly-typed column in Excel table is not get updated in PowerPoint table.
I am importing information from 20 stores by item. If a store doesn't carry an item it is not creating any data for that store but in turn it throws my whole template out of whack. The graph would be a repetitive 1-20. Can I create this pattern and import the information to match while creating blank cells when the data isn't available? I manually entered the left column and the items columns "B" on are imported.
- a list of data - a pivottable based on these data
When moving this worksheet this worksheet to another workbook, the pivot table can't refresh anymore. This throws an error message "Reference is not valid". To work around this problem I need to adapt the datasource. The same occurs if the list and the pivot table are on separate sheet, with the added strange behaviour that, when data an PT are split, it is not possible to move both sheet together.
This would not be a big issue if my problem had to be solved manually. The real problem is that I need to move the sheets from a C# program.
I have some data, in a xlVeryHidden sheet, with multiple headers. An example is given below.
I would like to auto-generate a table on a different sheet with only revelent headers and filter by source and month/year. Basically, I want to write a macro that would make this table for, say, January and source1 only, without headers 1, 2 or 3.
(Very similar to the Pivot table, only without combining the data)

I have two spread sheets that I 'converted' into tables. I need to combine them into a single sheet. When I attempt to copy and paste from one to the other the formatting and formulas do not carry 'down' as they do when I manually enter a new line or record.
Is there a way to copy multiple rows of data from one tabled sheet to another tabled sheet?
I have an Excel table with 7 columns. I have used a formula to randomize the data in each column, and it works fine, accept that it resorts/re-randomizes the contents of the table every time data is entered anywhere in the workbook. I would like the data to be sorted/randomized only once, and then only again upon pressing F9, since I have other spreadsheet which reference the data in the table.
This is the formula I use to sort/randomize the data, and I am using Excel 2010 on a PC.
Column B = numbered 1 - 20 Column C = =RAND() Column D = last of names Column E = sorted/randomized list of names.
Entering a formula which will allow me to expand my data set by interpolating between sets of x,y values. My data set is in 5-minute resolution and I would like to interpolate so that I can output a new set of x,y values in 1-minute resolution. Here is my example of what I have and what I would like my end result to be, and also I have attached a sample of my data set in the below excel file:
Original data set Date TimeTemperature oC 6/12/13 13:30 18.28 6/12/13 13:35 17.9 6/12/13 13:40 17.9
Desired data set Date TimeTemperature oC 6/12/13 13:30 y 6/12/13 13:31 y 6/12/13 13:32 y 6/12/13 13:33 y 6/12/13 13:34 y 6/12/13 13:35 y 6/12/13 13:36 y 6/12/13 13:37 y 6/12/13 13:38 y 6/12/13 13:39 y 6/12/13 13:40y
I have built a model which has approx 33,000 different combinations (output) based on user selection. There are 15 different options for user selection which gives rise to the number of outputs (2^15 -1) = 32,767.
I have inbuilt a data table that gives the output for all of the 32,767 scenarios. However, it seems like for each change the calculations takes forever and I am not sure when the calculations are complete. Saving takes forever and stuffs up excel. The numbers keep changing in front of my eyes. The file is 10Mb big/small.
Can Pivot Table chart add another data from another sheet? I attached the link for this file (Add data1), it is because the file consists of several sheets and I do not know how to show here.
I would like to add the data from the "Rate" sheet into the Pivot Table chart (Chart.PT). I made an example by using normal way (Chart.Case (9)), the column series in the chart is the one I added from the "Rate" sheet. I wonder if I could do the same in pivot table chart.
I have two tables each containing a column with Account ID. I want to in table A put a column that will return a yes or value of 1 if the ID in that row shows up in the ID column in table B. I have windows 7 with excel 2007
I am trying to link data from a pivot table we have in excel to a separate excel sheet.
The pivot table contains an up to date list of our inventory, however, we want to take that data and put it in a cleaner looking excel that we can e-mail to customers and publish on our website. Going individually, through every product takes too much time to have an up to date stock every day. Its even difficult to manage if we want to update just once a week.
When I link the cells of the pivot table to the new excel sheet they are constantly changing values as people are constantly editing the filters of the pivot table to look up various things.
I am trying to import data from web to excel. I posted the link below to the website I am attempting to import from. The only part I need is the statistics. However, I cannot get it come thru by getting external data from web.
The goal is to great an auto updating spreadsheet with multiple sheets so copy and paste is not feasible.
