Look Up Value From Master Sheet Based On Criteria In Current Sheet


I'm trying to create a function in a template invioce that will look up a value in another spread sheet (fees).The data will be based off three values entered in the invioce from drop down boxes. I've attached the workbook with the master sheet and the invioce (sheet 5) The three criteria that can be selected is the project, month and name and I want the amount of hours to be returned based on that information in column e. The projects are seperated and billed by month.

Macro To Copy Current Sheet, Create, & Rename New Sheet From Current Open Sheet
EXAMPLE: Complete Sheet called "Day1". When day1 is complete you click on button and it then copies itself and creates and renames new sheet to "Day2", then when "Day2" is complete you click on button and it then copies itself and creates and renames new sheet to "Day3", and so on and so forth to "Day30".

Pulling Information In Seperate Sheet Based On Data In Current Sheet
I've got a bit of a quandary here that my novice programming skills can't seem to solve.

Here is the scenario. I work for a photographic library. We have a spreadsheet that contains 5 or so columns, and a couple of thousand rows. Essentially each row contains an imagine code (the number we use to file away the imagine, ie. US_NY_NYC_1 ) in the first cell, and the image information in the following cells (ie metadata, keywords, photographer, date, etc).

so a typical row would look as follows:

Filename | Keywords | Photographer | Metadata | Location |

all the keyword, photographer, metadata, and location information can only be tied to the one image code whose cell begins the row.

Now, here is my dilemma. This sheet (lets call it the master sheet) contains all the images we have in a given batch. However, when a client orders images, we will send them most images in that batch, but not all, and we may send a few additional. So I have a separate sheet that contains only those image codes that the client requested. What I need to do is essentially take a code from the second sheet, find that same code in the master sheet, and copy over all the cells associated with that code's row. If the number does not exist in the master sheet, simply leave that row with only the code in the first cell, and the rest blank, and move on.

so for example, in my second sheet lets say I have the following A_B_C . I would like for excel to find that same code in the master sheet, and then copy over the metadata, photographer, date, etc, associated with that code, and paste it into the second sheet, so that that row in the second sheet now looks identical to the row with the same image code in the master sheet . If A_B_C does not exist in the master spreadsheet, then I would like excel to simply leave that code in its own row, leave the rest of the row blank, and move on to the next code.

Linking Cells For Update On One Sheet It Updates My Last "customer Touch" On A Master Sheet
I am tracking my sales interactions and am trying to link cells so when I update on one sheet it updates my last "customer touch" on a master sheet. Current formula-

On "sheet1" I selected a cell and used this formula... =sheet2!$b$7

The problem is that I want to keep a history of what was in that sheet 2 B7 cell so i insert a row (making B7 move down and become B8) and enter new info into the new b7. if I go back to sheet1 the formula in the selected cell becomes =sheet2!$b$8 I want it to stay to =sheet2!$b$7 no matter what I do... insert rows, delete rows etc...

in short what i am trying to do is have a cell in sheet1 show my last interaction with the customer and keep a history of in sheet2-infiniti.... with the caveat that my last interaction on sheet 2 etc... is listed first (thus the insert row)

Return Data To Another Sheet Based On Criteria
Sheet 1
Column A = Dates
Row 1 = Filenames

I enter a Y in the intersecting cells of the Filenames & Dates to show which files were downloaded.

I need is a formula that will rearrange this layout onto Sheet 2 so that each ‘Y’ (downloaded) filename is inserted in a cell corresponding to the Date.

Macro To Copy Data To Other Sheet Based On Criteria...
We're working with a large workbook with data from A5:P20000 on sheet1.

I need to be able to pull data from sheet1 to sheet2 based on the invoice number in column A on sheet2.

Sheet2 will have different invoice numbers in column A, some of these invoices numbers are in column H on sheet1. I need excel to find these invoice numbers and copy the data from that row on sheet2 to the row with that invoice number on column2.

Example:
Sheet2 A5 has invoice number 1234457
This same invoice number is located on sheet1 H3400
Need to copy to sheet2 (starting in cell B5) the following cells from sheet1 (B3400, C3400, E3400, G3400, H3400, I3400, J3400, K3400, M3400, N3400).

Auto Populating Columns In One Sheet From Another Based On Criteria
I've been trying for some time now to figure out how to have one sheet automatically fill in another based on a larger data sheet. I'm trying to find a way to take a monthly calendar which contains a row for each employee and column for each day and use that to create smaller lists on another sheet. Basically if someone puts in for a day off, or has a medical appointment etc, that person has a coded single letter for that day for tracking and planning purposes. I want to have a second sheet that references those codes and makes individual lists (the following people are on vacation, these people have a medical appointment etc.)

Formula For Obtaining Values On Separate Sheet From Values Declared On Current Sheet?
i have a workbook with two sheets. lets just call them sheet 1 and sheet 2. on sheet 1 i have data for employees and their current wages and other info. on sheet 2 the data is for compensation scale on three separate columns.......

Copy Paste Multiple Criteria Based Rows To New Sheet
I need to copy specific rows that have a specific value in colum B and Colum M to new worksheets.

So from attached screenshot , say for an example macro shud filter rows that have "BigPond" in coloum B ,"RG2" in column M & "INT" in column W and i dont want all cells in these rows , i only want copy cells under column C,AK,AL,AM (in this order) to my other excel sheet that is named "BigPond" and it should paste it starting from Row5?

I want to avoid recording a macro as it selects a range and i am expecting more new rows every week so if a record a macro the cell range for selection changes and i get incorrect result.

I have a spreadsheet that is used to store statistical information on a monthly basis, some of this information may be incomplete and so will need to be acted upon month by month, What I need to do using VBA is: At the close of the spreadsheet check sheet1 and if there is any data (text) in cells N – Q on any line If there is move to sheet3 check for the next blank line then paste the data from only certain fields i.e. A,B, N-Q,R,S

Copy Data On New Lines From A Source Sheet Based On Criteria
I have a source sheet which contains data. Within this data there is a column (column 3) called Name and I would like to take the data from this sheet and paste it onto a new sheet but in grouped format. Copy Rows Based On Criteria, Paste As Values To New Sheet & Sort
I have spent a few days searching through forums but cannot find examples that i have been able to successfully adapt ( because they are to complicated for my limited knowledge). I have a workbook with 5 sheets, sheet1 (current), and sheet 4 (archive) are the important ones. I need a macro to

A) copy rows from "current" to "archive" ( to the 1st empty row) if column S of "current" contains "Closed" ( the word is generated by formula).

B) The paste needs to paste special values and number formats ( want to lose formula but not conditional formatting).

C) data sort "archives" based on col A - this puts the newly archived data into correct sequence.Data sort lowest number 1st

D) delete the copied rows from "current".

e) give me a count of how many rows it deleted, (I have a macro to insert rows so will run that manually to recreate the correct number of emtpy rows (with formula and formatting) to bring the current sheet back to usual size.

I tried modifying a macro by RPaulson (based on cells on one sheet to cells on another), to work with entire rows but couldn't get it to work.

Found that paste special uses PasteSpecial xlPasteValues, but , and thats about it.

ALL Worksheets Onto Master Sheet
I have a file with 10 tabs (worksheets) and i would like all the information on each sheet (it's all in exactly he same format, same headings, etc) to automatically feed itself onto a "MASTER" tab. sure i could cut and paste it, but here's the tricky part. as the separate tabs are changed (deletions, additions, edits), i want the MASTER sheet to automatically update with newest information. am i asking for too much from Excel? (I think not, as I've become a firm believer that Excel can do anything - except the laundry!)...

Combine 13+ Spreadsheets Onto One Master Sheet
We have 13 salesman each completes a quotation log (each log is identical - except for the data obviously)

For month end and reporting purposes it would be useful to have 1 single log sorted by date.

It is not possible for each sales man to input the data into one log as some are away on business and take the log with them.

The logs are all stored in the same directory however there are other files and excel spreadsheets in the same directory.

This is how I would like to see it working - On opening the "MASTER" sheet it automatically (no user input required) clears out the old data, then gathers all the data from 13 spreadsheets, sorts it by quote date and dumps it into a new workbook.

We will be using excel 2000, 2003 & 2007 I can enable macros on all machines if necissary.

The spread sheets are very simple, single sheet with no formulas - just manually adding data. There will be no blank rows and data will be held in the range A - S with rows 1-4 being headers and titles

Multiple Workbooks To A Master Sheet
I have a folder that contains many workbooks that contain the same layout of information just with different workbook names. Im looking to copy certain customer information from each WB to a master sheet, such as name, adress, city, ect.

-Folder to lookin for all WB's information - D:Documents and SettingsRonMy DocumentsNew Folder (3)

-The sheet to copy the info from in each WB is named "Quote"

-The ranges to copy are B5:D5, B6:D6, F6:I6, K6:M6

-I want to use a command button to trigger the code and copy the info to the open WB on Sheet12.

-The info going into in sheet12 is layed out across each column.

Example of Sheet12:

A1 = B5:D5, B1 = B6:D6, C1= F6:I6, D1 = K6:M6, so each copied WB will used the same layout and just copy to the next line.
Example :
A1 = B5:D5, B1 = B6:D6, C1= F6:I6, D1 = K6:M6 (Ea. WB information)

Consolidate All Of The Tabs In The Master Sheet
I have a file that will have a maximum of about 25 tabs in it. They are all the same format - Column A have account codes, Column B have the account name and Column C through to Column AD have figures. Column B has a drop down menu, so not all tabs will have the same account code on the same row.

I thought that I would create another spreadsheet in the file and call it a master sheet with the same formats as all the other tabs but this master file will have all of the account codes available and will not have a drop down menu in column B. What I wanted to do was consolidate all of the 25 tabs in the master sheet.

Copying Comments To Master Sheet
I have a single workbook with 4 worksheets in it. This is a dimensional report sheet. We measure stuff and report our findings.

The first worksheet is the master sheet. The next three sheets are filled in by three different inspectors.

I've got a formula in all the appropriate cells in the master sheet that brings in values from the other 3 sheets. It uses an IF formula. If there is no value reported on any of the 3 inspection sheets, the master sheet displays the text "MISSING".

So, the Master Sheet is the compilation or summary sheet, if you will.

Is there a way to have the master sheet bring in not only the values, but also the comments of cells from the other 3 sheets? There will be no cell that has comments on more than one inspector sheet.

Right now, I'm using Copy -> Paste Special -> Comments. I'm looking to automate this, so that as soon as an inspector fills in a value and adds a comment, both items get put into the master sheet automatically.

Get Information From Different Files For Master Sheet
- I have the following folder/file structure:

MP1
CT
CTfile1.csv
CTfile2.csv
CV
CVfile1.csv
CVfile2.csv
FT
FTfile1.csv
FTfile2.csv

...etc - it keeps on going for more subfolders.

- Every subfolder has 2 different .csv files.

- Every file has the same structure. Relevant info:
. column B - time string
. column C - value

- The files are automatically genarated and report lots of single events (evaluated in Column C) that occurr in a specific time (dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss specified in Column B)

- All files have the same number of lines.

- Line 2 in fileX refers to the same time as Line 2 in fileY; the same for all lines.

What I need is a Macro in a file "Master.xls" placed in folder MP1 to automatically:

1. open each file in the subfolders
2. copy the time string (column B) for A2 down - only needed for the first file
3. copy the relevant info (column C) - in every file
4. close all files

Result: I have a "Master" file with the relevant info of all the others, preceeded by a time string from where I can work (pivot table, graph, etc.). The files can have from 5.000 to 30.000 lines, depending on the day.

I have 16 worksheets, with identical column formatting (6 columns), but with different amounts of rows.

The master sheet is called Master Holdings. The first worksheet's data should be placed stating on row 2, and the second sheet's data should follow right after sheet 1's data, etc...

Add To Current Date Based On Criteria
I am trying to get a function to return a date based on the string in the preceding cell. If the cell, say A1, has the string "Before 12:30", i want the cell B1 to put the date 5 days from now in the cell. If there is any other string entered then 6 days from now. I also need it to include the networkdays function.

Here's what i've got, messy i know but functions aren't my strong point. Also would i save file size if i did this in VBA? ....

Selectively Pull Records Into Master Sheet
I've got a master excel sheet with about 6000 rows of unique variables. In separate source files, I have many rows of these variables with information next to each. Each file has a random number of these variables, some a couple of hundred, some a thousand or two.

What I'm looking to do is to have the master sheet with all 6000 rows and have all of the information next to each variable, with new columns for each new bit of information.

I could sit there for hours copying and pasting each new bit of information to the relevant variable in the master sheet, but I'm convinced there's a quicker way. Is there, for example, a way to filter the master sheet based on the variables contained in one of the source files and therefore (once a-z sorted) copy all the information from a source file and simply paste it into the master file? Then once the filter is lifted the same can be done for the next file (there's only about 20 source files so that's manageable).

Updating Hidden Sheet From Closed Master
Whilst my question is partially answered in other threads, I don't seem to be able to get enough info to piece together a complete solution for my required task.

I have a "master" workbook that contains worksheets that are simply lists to be referred to by other workbooks...
IE; one worksheet is a list of customer names, another is a list of products, etc, etc...
The idea is that I only have to update the data in one place, and all the workbooks that use this information can draw the current data from a single source...

What I require; is some VBA code to import the require worksheet from the closed "master" workbook, and hide the imported worksheet so it's not seen by the user... this action would have to replace the previous copy of the hidden worksheet...
Ideally this would happen automatically when the user workbook was opened...

Consolidate Ranges From Several Worksheets Into A Master Sheet
I am trying to consolidate a specific range on 8 similar worksheets into a master list through the use of a macro, and the workbook has a total of 26 worksheets. Details:

The worksheets to be consolidated are named: AR, CM, JR, Trader1, Trader2, Trader3, Trader4, and Trader5. The range to be consolidated are: A6:F26, of each of the above worksheets. Currently, A6:D21 are linked through an array from the worksheet "Index". This is because there are often changes to the names listed under "Trader/Backup Trader", or there may be additions/deletions of a row.

Right now, I have set up a sheet called "Traders List", using arrays to link the data on the 8 different sheets. The only problem is, if there were a change in the "Index" worksheet, I would have to manually drag out each array, for these 8 different worksheets in the "Traders List" sheet. Is there a way a macro can be written such that it is automatically linked to each range (A6:F26) on those 8 worksheets? Is it possible to only show rows that are non-zero?

Dynamically Altering Sheets From A Master Sheet
I have a workbook with four worksheets. Sheet1 is the master. On sheet one there is information in a 10x10 table. The first column of the table contains a status of "No, Maybe, Yes." A record will start with a status of No and move to Maybe and then yes. What I want to do is be able to dynamically fill sheet2-sheet4 with information from the master. If the status is "Yes" move that row to sheet2. If the status is "no" move that row to sheet 3. Etc. Further complication that is depending on status, I want specific columns from the master, not necessarily all of them.

At present at the end of the month our receptionist has to consolidate this information manually onto a master sheet.

Transpose Links From Individual Sheets To Master Sheet
I have multiple sheets on which users enter data in Cells B3 to B21 on each sheet.

I have a master sheet where the information entered on individual sheets is copied by links. On the master sheet the information is displayed in Rows. Thus data on Sheet1 B5:B25 is displayed in Row 6 cells H6:Z6 of Master Sheet, data on Sheet2 is displayed in Row 7 cells H7:Z7 etc. The formula in H6 of the Master Sheet is =Sheet1!B5, in H7 it is =Sheet2!B5 etc. It is of course not possible to use Autofill to copy formulas across on the Master sheet. It can be done manually but there are hundreds of cells to fill.

Is there an elegant way to copy the formulae on individual sheets onto the Master Sheet.

I want to be able to repeat the procedure later if additional sheets need to be added.

Basically what it does is simply combine all the records in the the mentioned sheets to the master sheet.

There is a little problem. When one of the sheets are on a filtered mode, the data copied in the "Master" sheet are only visible cells.

Un-filtering before copying is an option (i.e. putting the code ".ShowAllData") IF I can put the exact filtering back after copying. Reason being that the sheets are owned by other parties and they do not want their own filtering be removed.

With the above data, I'd like put all of the data for each respective dept on it's own sheet. Obviously I have many rows of data and departments so manually would be almost impossible.

Copy Data From Multiple Sheets To One Master Sheet
I have been trying to make a code that copies all the data in A2:K50 in all the sheets (about 32 of them right now) and paste that information in 1 sheet (Master List). The code does work but for some sheets it only copies the first 2 or 3 records. Also, this code puts the name of the sheet the data came from but for the first 2 records in puts in the Master List its pasting the wrong Sheet name.

Pulling Data From Multiple Worksheets Onto Master Sheet
I have an identical worksheet for all the days of the month - i.e. the May workbook has 30 identical worksheets. I am wanting to pull only certain rows from each worksheet onto a master. Something like - copy row from all worksheets where that rows cell "D" has any value other than " ".

I have used the following macro to pull all the data from every sheet onto a master - but i don't want all the data - just the qualifying data.

Sub Combine()
Dim J As Integer

On Error Resume Next
Sheets(1).Select
Worksheets.Add ' add a sheet in first place
Sheets(1).Name = "ALL"

I am not sure what the range "A1" is - i am thinking i can modify it to only grab certain rows.

Copy Same Range From Multiple Sheets To Master Sheet
I have multiple sheets (lets say for example a 100 of them) where I need to copy a Value from a fixed location (Col#,Row#) from each of the 100 sheets and store it in a column in a Master sheet.. in the end the Master sheet has only two columns.. first column A contains file name (of the sheet where I copied).. then adjacent column B has the copied value.. in other words the Master sheet will have 100 rows and two columns..for this example..

Copy Rows From Selected Sheet To New Sheet Based On Cell Value
i have a workbook that has a lot of sheets but i need to pull information from the one sheet "Veneer Log" i Need it to make new sheets with the same heading as on the "Veneer Log" (Rows 1 & 2) Sheet but it needs to be filtered by the "Product" Column (H) with a new sheet made for all the diffrent products i.e. Dimensional, Drywall, Corners - Thin V., Accents,..... so each product will have a new sheet with i am hoping someone can help me with this. This log changes Daily and it would be nice to have a sheet with only the same product on it to compare new orders so we can batch run. i hope i have given you enough information so someone can help me with this. i have attached a sample log the real log has about 10 worksheet for diffrent departments but i only need info from the Veneer Log Sheet.

Auto Copying Entered Preferences From A Master Sheet To Multiple Worksheets
I have a master page with A1 containing the names of staff members and then 5 columns indicating preference1 .... preference5. Each preference column will have one 4 digit site code i.e. 8156 entered. I will have 64 worksheets matching all potential 4 digit site codes that could be entered in the preferences columns.

SAMPLE - one staff member entering 5 site codes (A1 to A6)

Billy Bloggs - 8124 - 8456 - 8456 - 8123 - 8882

What I am looking for is a way to autocopy the persons name to the appropriate worksheet and into the correct preference column as I enter the 4 digit code against the staff members name on the master sheet.

INDEX And MATCH To Pull Back Employees Hours From A Master Sheet
I am usuing INDEX and MATCH to pull back employees hours from a master sheet, I am asking excel to Index, matiching firstly the agents name and then the day of the week (Formatted: Mon,Tue,Wed,Thurs,Fri,Sat,Sun). This works perfectly for every day of the week using the following formuls except for Sun where it returns #REF!
