Look For Value In Row And Copy Cell Value 13 Rows Below
Dec 5, 2008
I put data into a worksheet called "Budget" each week. When I put the data in I type a date in Cell "BL7". I have another worksheet called "EVReportHistorical". This worksheet runs some calculations from the data in the "Budget" sheet and comes up with a value in cell "H10" of the "EVReportHistorical" sheet. In a third sheet called "EV Report" row 8 has week ending dates (i.e. Sunday of each week). I want to run a macro after I change the date ("BL7") and data in the "Budget" sheet that will search row 8 of the "EV Report" sheet to find the date in cell "BL7" of the "Budget" sheet. Once it finds which column that date is in it will paste the value in "H10" of the "EVReportHistorical" sheet 13 rows below row 8 but in the column that it found the date in.
I am new to macro and just trying to learn. I have a spreadsheet with 20000 rows and 8 columns. I am trying to identify equal rows based on the values of columns C, D, E and F. then I need to separate equal bunches with a blank row. Then I need to copy the ID number from the first cell of column B of each bunch and paste it for the rest of the rows in that bunch. I have written the following code but this does not put the ID of the first cell in a bunch for the rest of the rows in that bunch.
WS "Activities" has a list of dates in col B (Inputted as 02/01/2012, 04/01/2012, 01/02/2012 etc.) (Formated as 02-Jan-2012, 01-Feb-2012 etc.)
WS "MonthReport" is where the rows are being pasted Currently the code will paste rows based on the search string in MonthReport("B1") So - If I type 02/01/2012 in B1 it copies all the rows where that is the date.
What I need it to do is be able to search for "January" and then return all the rows where the date is between 01/01/2012 and 31/01/2012. (Or all of Feb, Mar etc dependant on what is in MonthReport("B1")
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() Dim LSearchRow As Long Dim LCopyToRow As Long
I have a list of items with a quantity in the final column. I need the rows to be copied the same number of times as the quantity displayed so that instead of having 1 row with a quantity of 5, it copies this row a further 4 times so that there are 5 rows. how this can be achieved other than manually as is currently the case? I've attached an extract so that you can see what I am working with. Column H holds the quantity (obviously) and ideally should be reset to 1 when the item is copied the relevant number of times.
1. Copy a certain amount of rows based on the number input at the top of the page.
i.e. you put in 12 and the macro will copy 12 rows to paste somewhere else.
2. Similarly, the same idea but instead of selecting rows i need it to drag a formula down to the relavent row number so all the copied data has a formula to match
I am making a workbook for our 4H horse shows. I want to be able to list the kids on the first page and check off (x in the cell) which classes they will be entering and then have the program move their info to each of the specific class worksheets where we will record the results. I'd like to move rows A thru E to each applicable class sheet. I've attached the workbook.
I have a range that i need to run a report on regularly. This range has sporadic amounts of data in it. one time there may be 60 rows of data, next time there may be 250 rows of data. i want the macro to select and copy only the rows that have data in them.
i currently have a macro that i just set a range A25:A400 so it goes down and copies all these rows so it covers me .... but it is causing me problems by copying all those empty rows.
The macro will need to start at A25 and go down from there A26,A27 etc select and copy only rows that have data and stop. i need the data copied to a seperate sheet named "Combined Scoreboard" inputting at A25.
I've been tasked with redoing a revenue report at work, and in my head I've conjured up what could potentially be a huge time saving way of doing things in the future, although have searched help files and looked around online and can't find the formula/macro (if it exists) to enable me to do this.
The problem is this:
Sheet 1 of the workbook is a large input sheet. Every row contained in that sheet will, in column A, be titled 'red', 'yellow' or 'green'. Columns B onwards contain other data which (at the moment) is irrelevant to the problem.
Now what I want excel to do after I've put the raw data into the input sheet (sheet 1), is to read the text in column A for each row, then automatically copy ALL data in that row over to the next empty row on another worksheet.
ie Sheet 2 will have all rows that have 'Red' in column A on the input sheet, Sheet 3 will have all those titled 'Yellow' and Sheet 4 will have all those titled 'Red'.
I know I can use a filter on the input sheet to just show the data I want, but each colour coded row will contain different data to another, and if there is a formula/macro setup i can use to do the above, then I can set the subsequent worksheets up to hide the superflous columns from the input sheet.
I did find information from other posts but with my mininal knowledge of VBA, I am not able to apply the macros for my need. I have an order form. Row 1 to 10 contain personal information. Column A is the "quantity" and Column E is the " total" with a formula. If cell of column E is filled (contain the $ amount), I want the whole row copied to another sheet. I also want row 1 to 10 to copy to the other sheet as well.
What I have are invoices that span an entire month that I need to convert into a format for the billing department. The columns I have right now are: "Invoice Number"Cost CenterAccountFundType of Service" Date of Completion"Unit PriceQty Total Price
I need to generate a file with the headings as: Cost CenterFund"Date of Completion"Account Total Price. Since Total Price only appears on the rows that have the final information I need, I want to have a script that grabs every line in which the Total Price column has data, generate a file of the summary lines, then throw that through another macro to reformat it into the final format, or just do it in one step. In summary I need to grab rows where Column I is not empty, whats the best way to do this?
I had a quick look around and couldn't find exactly what I was after my apologies if it already exists. I have attached a sample worksheet and I would like it the entire row A from sheet 1 to sheet 3 if the cells A2 OR D2 contain what is in cell Sheet2!A1.
I publish a green building mag, and we run an enquiry system for readers on our website. This is the link: [URL] .......
The idea is that readers tell us some info about themselves, including what types of products/services they'd like to receive information about, and we pass their details on to advertisers offering those products/services.
When someone fills out a form, we get data in Excel on their enquiry. It's all in one row - name, contact details, and then the products/services they've enquired about are included in one cell, separated by commas.
So for instance, suppose a listing currently came in as follows (column headings in brackets:
(name) Joe Soap / (job title) Architect / (organisation) Joe Soap Architecture / (address) 123 Soap St, Soapville / (enquiries) insulation, solar panels, windows
Essentially I want it to run like this:
(name) Joe Soap / (job title) Architect / (organisation) Joe Soap Architecture / (address) 123 Soap St, Soapville / (enquiries) insulation (name) Joe Soap / (job title) Architect / (organisation) Joe Soap Architecture / (address) 123 Soap St, Soapville / (enquiries) solar panels (name) Joe Soap / (job title) Architect / (organisation) Joe Soap Architecture / (address) 123 Soap St, Soapville / (enquiries) windows
this is in reference to a question I asked some time ago in which I was given the following: =IF( COUNTIF(SHEET1!$A$1:$A$1200,SHEET2!A1),SHEET2!A1,"")
To summize as this is not quite working, I have two worksheets and in Column A are id#s. Worksheet 1 has100's more rows of data than Worksheet 2. I need to find the unique ids from column A in Worksheet 1 that match Unique IDs in worksheet 2.
I need to copy the row of cells from worksheet 1 where the unique id equals that u.id in worksheet 2. That row needs to be copied to Sheet 2 that has the same unique id, and after the pre-existing cells which are already present.
So for instance: if Sheet1 A100 = Sheet2 A24, then copy row A100from Sheet 1 and paste it to Row A24 of SHeet 2 start with the first empty cell- just say Sheet2 G24 as an example.
Using the formula I was given before, it finds matches, but the pasted rows are off. If the match occurs with Sheet 1 A450 and Sheet 2 A36, it will copy the value from ROW/SHeet 1 A36 instead of ROW/Sheet 1 A450
a macro button on my excel sheet that should do the following.
i have a range (Ex: E3:E46) which is being continuously filled, i need to transfer the information to another sheet depending on column "E", (Ex: if "E3" = "A" paste row to sheet2 if = "B" paste row to sheet3) and so on each row could have another string in column "E".
after the paste is done it should clear the range making place for new entries, that should also be copied finding the next empty cell (it shouldn't delete the old entries)
I have a workbook with a single worksheet that has about 2000 rows, columns A, B, C, D, E & F Cells in colums A, B, C, E & F all have very different information in them, nothing is similar in any of those columns that I can base a criteria on. Cells in column D however will have 1 of about 18 possibilities in them
What I want to do is have another workbook with 18 worksheets, each worksheet named 1 of the 18 possibilities, and somehow magically pull the data from the first workbook and insert it into the correct worksheet in the second workbook, leaving the data in the first workbook intact.
I update the first workbook several times a day, adding and deleting from it so would need to update as it goes, or be able to run the update as and when needed.
My skills are limited to simple formulas inserted into cells and dragging them down!
I have used a formula to achieve this before which seemed to work although now it seems to be replacing other data already in the worksheet so I am unsure of how to fix, thinking I should just start again.
The file in question is a tracker of activities, Column A (sheet1) is the Status and once the status is "Closed" I need to run a macro that copies all closed activities to Sheet5 at the bottom of previous closed activities. Once this is done I already have a macro to delete all "closed" activities from Sheet1 meaning that it is vital the new closed activities stack onto the bottom of previous closed activities.
The Column Headers start on Row 11 with activities running from Column 12.
I've seen a few threads on here about this issue but none of them do quite what I am looking for. I'd like for a single page "report" to be created when a user presses a button (which runs a macro, of course) The macro should be able to run through certain named sheets (even if hidden) and if a cell in any row is red within a sheet then the entire row or rows that meet the criteria should be copied and pasted into the Report sheet.
On the report sheet, for each sheet that has had rows that were copied, I'd like to have the name of the sheet as the header above the pasted rows so that the user knows which sheet the data came from. Any sheet that doesn't have red cells would be excluded from the report. I've attached a sample file but had to limit the number of sheets because of Orgrid's file size limit. Hopefully, you'll see what I am getting at here.
I need to build a macro which copies 3 rows every day and pastes the row data into an identical sheet. The three rows will have column "D" as =today(). As the days progress the three rows will change accordingly ( tag to the today's date)
e.g. 28/1/2014 28/1/2014 28/1/2014
I need the macro to recognize the date when pressed and copy the corresponding rows of data and paste them into an identical sheet with the same date. The second sheet is an archive sheet. The date will tick over as per the calendar.
col1 col2 col3 row1 A 1 a1 row2 data data data row3 data data data row4 data data data row5 A 2 a1 row6 A 3 a1 row7 B 1 a1
I'm trying to do is set up a VBA code that will take lines lines 2-4, copy the rows and then paste them in new rows every other row for the rest of the document, so that it appears as...
col1 col2 col3 row1 A 1 a1 row2 data data data row3 data data data row4 data data data row5 A 2 a1 row6 data data data row7 data data data..............................
I'd like to be able to search a spreadsheet for a specific word or series of characters. Once all of the ROWS that contain the characters are found, I'd like to be able to have another spreadsheet with ONLY those rows (all columns).
The first one (Top Ten Auto Generator.xls) ( Sheet is Summary) has 1 row (13) with 4 cells that have data. A13 with date (today formula), B13, D13, and E13 are numbers. The cell range will be the same each time the data is copied (the workbook has a marco to generate the numbers each day already).
The date doesn't need to be copied, just the other 3 cells data (in the same order) using paste special.
The workbook that needs the cell data is a report ( Dashboard.xls) that has lots of different departments each using 3 columns for their specific data. The left most column A is the date listing to match.
The column Range for my department on that "Raw Data" sheet is "H", "I", & "J" where the "H" would get the data in "B13", "I" would get "D13", "J" would get "E13" for the date that matches the other workbook.
So the way it would work, is that once the vba is run the 3 cells from the auto generator are copied, then the vba opens the dashboard.xls and looks for the date in column A which matches the other workbooks A13 date value, and then the cells are pasted into that row, but in column H, I, & J.
Here's sort of some code that I put together to see if that would be easier to understand. I'm new at doing the vba so I don't have better code.
Private Sub CommandButtonpaste2dash_Click()
'get our data from generator
Windows("Top Ten Auto Generator.xls").Activate Sheets("Summary").Select Range("B13,D13,E13").Select Range("E13").Activate Selection.Copy Workbooks.Open "Dashboard.xls" Sheets("Raw Data").Activate
'look for the date in column A which matches A13 in the Auto generator Some Code For finding the right date
'once found, paste special to the same row, but in column H (the 3 cells should paste together ok) some code For pasting into H In the same row As the found date
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValuesAndNumberFormats ActiveWorkbook.Save MsgBox "Done!!!" End Sub
I have a macro that inserts a formula on the first row and then copies it down. The problem is the row count is variable but I know it won't exceed 5000 so I just copy it down 5000. For the blank rows I get the ugly #NAME, #VALUE, etc errors.
I know there are ways to supress those error messages, but how about a way so that the macro checks to see how many rows are populated so it doesn't copy down on the blank rows.
i have a workbook that has a lot of sheets but i need to pull information from the one sheet "Veneer Log" i Need it to make new sheets with the same heading as on the "Veneer Log" (Rows 1 & 2) Sheet but it needs to be filtered by the "Product" Column (H) with a new sheet made for all the diffrent products i.e. Dimensional, Drywall, Corners - Thin V., Accents,..... so each product will have a new sheet with i am hoping someone can help me with this. This log changes Daily and it would be nice to have a sheet with only the same product on it to compare new orders so we can batch run. i hope i have given you enough information so someone can help me with this. i have attached a sample log the real log has about 10 worksheet for diffrent departments but i only need info from the Veneer Log Sheet.
