Macro To Access Website Page & Copy Table

Jun 27, 2008

I'm doing some extremely repetitive work with a web tool at work. I need to import about 1800 tables for my first assignment and 5000 for my second. I did a search on the forum and found out that Excel and vba is able to import tables from a website's chart which is amazing. I recorded a macro and got

Sheets("Sheet2").Select
Range("A1").Select
With ActiveSheet.QueryTables.Add(Connection:= _
"URL I can;t give out this information" _
, Destination:=Range("A1"))
.Name = "index"
.FieldNames = True
.RowNumbers = False
.FillAdjacentFormulas = False
.PreserveFormatting = True
.RefreshOnFileOpen = False
.BackgroundQuery = True
.RefreshStyle = xlInsertDeleteCells
.SavePassword = False.....................

For each session I have to go to my site, log in with a username and password which is the same everytime then go to a specific page select the right drop down and import chart. The Chart under the drop down is the chart I need to import. The macro I recorded has no problem doing this but however it keeps grabbing the same chart, how do i fix that, so it knows to select the right drop down then import the right chart?

Macro To Access A Website And Copy Exchange Rates

Jan 25, 2007

My task is to somehow access [url] and copy the exchange rates on the table to my Excel workbook. Obviously a macro will not record outside of the Excel program, so I am just wondering if this is possible at all (without hacking of course). My plan B is to have the user manually enter the exchange rates.

Copy Data From Access Table To Sheet Using VBA

Aug 12, 2014

I need to populate data from Access table to sheet1 using Excel/vba. I want to find out the percentage of batches scanned for the date selected for each time slot. There are Time slots in the columns from Q to X. i.e 8:00,9:00,10:00,11:00.....etc.

so I need to find out percentage of batches scanned before the above time slots.. To count total number of batches , we will use count(BatchNo) function in the SQL query. Because of company restrictions, I can't attach the access database but to give u an idea how the database is stored, I copied the data in sheet2 of the attached workbook. We have to find percentage of batches scanned in sheet1.

Copy Last X Rows Of Table & Set Page Breaks

Apr 16, 2008

I want to add a button on my Worksheet that will basically copy the last portion of the sheet (about 40 lines) and insert it at the bottom of the sheet (above the button). Each time the button is clicked, the last 40 lines will be copied and pasted. The script also sets the page break to the appropriate line. To achieve this, I've set up a hidden sheet that contains the line numbers and last page number. The script accrues these numbers every time the script runs.

I realise there may be a better way to do this, but at this point I'm trying to stick to what I know. I'm trying to use the function Row().Select, and I keep getting an Error 13. Example of my

Sub AddPageTest()

Dim InsertRow As String
InsertRow = Range("C14").Select
Dim SelRange As String
SelRange = Range("C12").Select
Dim LastPageNum As Integer
LastPageNum = Range("C5").Select
Dim NewLastPageNum As Integer
NewLastPageNum = LastPageNum + 1
Dim LastPageBreak As String
LastPageBreak = Range("C15").Select

Macro - Choose From Dropdown List Then Copy Page To New Sheet

Jan 3, 2013

I am after some VBA code that chooses each value from a drop down list (in cell A1) then copies a separate sheet 1 (sheet 1) into another workbook (can have both workbooks open at the same time or the first step will have to create a workbook) with the name of the added sheet renamed to the value chosen from the list. When the second value is chosen then sheet 1 should be copied into the newly created workbook as well.

Sheet 1 has lookups that are updated when the new value in the drop down list is chosen

There are around 85 values in the drop down list so I'm expecting a workbook with 85 tabs (copy pasted values and formats)

Import Data From Access Table To Pivot Table - Enable Auto Refresh

Feb 1, 2010

I have enable Refresh on Open for my excel pivot table, but user need to click "Enable Automatic Refresh" , only solution i came across is to change the registry setting. Which i dont have access to edit registry(admin disable the access).

Alternate solution i try to use Access macro to automate the process and use Outputto save it as a excel file A. Then use excel file B to update pivot table from excel file A.(as excel A data is always latest)
The problem is i will get "....A file name already exist...do you want to overwrite.." prompt.
Which defeat the automate process.

Any other solution to enable the automatic refresh on open the excel workbook?

Or Access can overwrite the exist file or save it as another file name with timestamp ?

I would like to be able to have Excel VBA pull down the data from the following website.

The first URL will take you to the website, but you then need to select a state shown in bold from the Radio side of the index window in the middle of the screen. Once at the next screen, this is the table I wish to download into excel.

I want to do this for all the states listed. How can I do this or is it possible since you have to select a state prior to the listing.

Create New Table (or Matrix) From Exported Set Of Data From Website

Jun 19, 2014

I have a set of exported data from a Project Management SW (activecollab). The result is an excel .xslx file with a table inside with a lot of cells I am not going to use. Additionally, what I would like to do is creating new tables on other sheets that use only the data I want from the export. For example, I have two projects and three employees. I want to create three tables with the names of the three employees. In each table I want the tasks done by them and the time they will spend on them in order to create a Gantt chart. I need a solution that allows me to create new tables with selected data from a bigger cluster (the export). you do not need to give me the exact solution, I only need to know whether it is possible or not and where could I get the info to do what I want.

Transfer Data To Access Table

Jan 26, 2010

I'm in need of serious help, extremely new.

I have created a userform in excel which I want to transfer data over to access with.

I have built a command button to send data to access code below.

Private Sub CommandButton2_Click()
Dim cn As ADODB.Connection, rs As ADODB.Recordset
Set cn = New ADODB.Connection
cn.Open "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" & _
"Data Source=filepath.mdb"
Set rs = New ADODB.Recordset
rs.Open "Main", cn, adOpenKeyset, adLockOptimistic

With rs

.AddNew

.Fields("Status") = ComboBox1.Value
.Fields("RRR") = ComboBox46.Value
.Fields("RRS") = ComboBox52.Value
.Fields("SRR") = ComboBox47.Value
.Fields("SRS") = ComboBox53.Value
.Fields("WSR") = ComboBox48.Value
.Fields("WSS") = ComboBox108.Value
.Fields("WPR") = ComboBox110.Value
.Fields("WPS") = ComboBox112.Value
.Fields("WER") = ComboBox49.Value
.Fields("WES") = ComboBox54.Value

.Update
End With

rs.Close
Set rs = Nothing
cn.Close
Set cn = Nothing

This works fine when all comboboxes and textboxes have entries in but doesn't work when the have been left blank and there will be occasions when they can be left blank.

Using ADODB To Add New Field Into Access Table

Dec 17, 2012

I'm using the below code to add data to an access database and it's working fine, but I'm trying to figure out what code I would need to add a completely new field to the access database?

So maybe before the export, once connected to the DB, add the new field(s) to the table and then add export the data. I'd have to rewrite export bit to allow for any new fields that i've added, but I can do that.

It's just the actually command I need add the new field to the table. Sure it's just a simple couple of lines, but trying to find something that makes sense !!

Code:
Sub Update_data(strSite)

strDir = Worksheets("Parameters").Cells(2, 2)
strDB = Worksheets("Parameters").Cells(3, 2)
strTable = Worksheets("Parameters").Cells(4, 2)

' exports data from the active worksheet to a table in an Access database
