I have a list of names on 2 separate sheets that I need to modify. If I have a name on sheet1 matches a name on sheet2 I would Like to add a "space" then "(SV1) at the end of the text string on sheet2. I have a list of 1500 and will only have to modify 75-100. Example shows on sheet2 how I would like the desired outcome to be.
What im trying to do is match columns A & B from AUDIT Sheet to Columns A & B in MASTER sheet. If they match then pull columns C, D & E from MASTER into AUDIT.
I need to compare names in column A(sheet 1) to names in column A(sheet2) and if there is a match then I need the date from column B(sheet 2) to be copied to column B(sheet1).
I have 2 columns of usernames A and B, A has approx 700 usernames and B has about 80. In column C I have a list of names 1 for each username in column A. I want to compare the B with A and if there is a match return the value in C and place it in D.
I must match column A and column B to return the column C In colA there are all my countries In column B there are all my countries code and countries I want get the colC where all my colB match than colA.
I would like a macro that can match column A & column B data of Worksheet(WeeklyJob) to column A & column B of Worksheet(Master) then if match is found copy column C through column F into Worksheet(Master) column C through F (and overwrite any [outdated] existing data there may be in those columns [thus updating the job's weekly charges, etc.]). If match is not found I would like it to copy entire row from Worksheet(WeeklyJobs) into first blank row at end of Worksheet(Master) (thus giving me a new record of a new job from the weekly report).
All the columns in both worksheets are labeled the same (& row 1 is headings).
I have 2 workbooks each with last name columns. One book has a column of a few hundred names and the other has a column of over a thousand. I need to compare the last names and pull out the employeeID (which is in a seperate column) to a specific column for the ones that match.
Trying to compare data from two spread sheets, if there is similar data in column a, output all data (sheet1 & 2) to the 3rd sheet.
Sheet1 a b c d smith john 888 cicero king larry 123 syracuse
Sheet2 a b c d smith marge 777 liverpool king mike 458 dewitt
Sheet3 a b c d a b c d smith john 888 cicero smith marge 777 liverpool king larry 123 syracuse king mike 458 dewitt
The closest thing I can find to what I'm trying to accomplish is this link here: Compare Worksheets
I'm also would like the ability to change the columns I am comparing. The actual sheets may have more that 4 columns.I can somewhat read the formulas but have a hard time under standing them completely.
The code below compares values on sheet 4 column A to sheet 3 column A and then colors a cell "Green" (Temporary), later I will place data from sheet 4 into sheet 3.
I dont know why but when it finds data on sheet 4 that is not 100% numeric it errors out.
Run-time error '91' Object variable or With block variable not set.
The data in sheet 4 column A is primarily numeric, there are and always will be some numeric/alpha strings. I can change the value of sheet 4 A2 to "123x" from "123" and the code stops as described. Leaving sheet 4 A1 as 100% numeric, which works fine.
I'm trying to cmpare two excel spreadsheets, each one of then have 3 columns with column A being the KEY to lookup and compare records into another spreadsheet. So in my example spreadsheet If u take cell ZVNA!A1 and lookup for values in ZSKU!A* and find a match then comapre the B1 and C1 in respective ZSKU! Column B and C. If there is a record for A1 in ZVNA then comapre it's column B value with column B value of ZSKU, and column C value with column C value of ZSKU. I have not used macro/vba before so if you could tell me formula based solution that will be good or point me how to use macro. I did Vlookup but it did not return me 100% accurate result may be bec my format of column is not accurate.
I need to take the data out of one column from sheet A and compare it to the data on another column sheet B.
Real life example:
I have a very large list of contacts with multiple columns of data. On a separate spreadsheet, I have a list email addresses that I need to remove from the larger list of contacts. How can I compare them against one another to detect any matched email addresses for deletion?
List of contacts is appx 130mb List of email addresses is appx 4mb
I have two sheets with pretty much the same content but not exactely. I need to compare the data from the first sheet to the data in the second sheet in this way: data from column b (numbers) in the first sheet needs to be compared to data in column b in the second sheet. if this dosen't match it needs to go to the next line. if the match is positive it needs to compare the data from column d on the first sheet to the data on the second sheet same column and copy the data from the first sheet's column d to the second sheet's column d. But only if the data in column d on the first sheet isn't blank. If it is it should leave the data on column d second sheet intact.
I've got two worksheets ("June" & "July"). On both worksheets, column A is comprised of ID numbers and column B contains dollar amounts. I need to compare the ID numbers in Column A on each worksheet, and if they match I want to copy the ID number and the amount to a third worksheet ("Results").
I have 29 excel files with some number of worksheets from 1 to 4. The name of the worksheets are the same in all the spreadsheets. Then I've a got a pivot table. I have to compare some data (3 columns) from the pivot table to the numbers from all these sheets from 29 excel files.
I'm trying to compile a VBA that would allow me to compare 2 columns "A" in different worksheets (same Workbook) and output any unique values to 3rd worksheet together with the rest of the values in the corresponding row.
The columns that I want to match up are not exact matches. Multiple values from sheet1 colA can match up to one value in sheet2 colA by using the first 5 characters of the cell value.
Here is the workbook to go with the sample data set I put below.
HowDoIMatch2.xlsm
As of now, the formula is generating a 2 in the banana row. But there are no bananas documented in sheet2.
How can I get my output to Sheet1 ColB to be accurate without having to create new columns/data with truncated values for the lookup?
If I use this formula in Sheet1 ColC (then copy downwards /autofill):
[Code] .....
to grab the Sheet2 colB. It works fine except for in the cases where sheet1 colA values have no match in sheet2 colA (i.e. Sheet1 A4-banana1).
That vlookup formula will output SOMETHING because of the nature of MATCH using either -1 or 1 as a match_type option. I cannot use MATCH if I want to solve this issue...but I do not know what else to do.
I know of a roundabout way to do this but I would like to stay away from "creating new data". (Create/insert a new column in Sheet2. The first row would be =Left($A2,5) then downfilled. This way I can use exact value in the MATCH formula in Sheet1's VLOOKUP.) If VBA is the only way I can "automate" this lookup output to be correct, then that is the road I'll have to take
I have a column on sheet 1 which contains 200 lines with a unique number in each row (account codes). I have another sheet (sheet 2) which contains the same column. sometimes an extra row for an extra account code is added to the col in sheet 1. I need to make sure that the col I have in sheet 2 always has exactly the same as the col in sheet one, where the same account code should never be repeated. I am currently trying to setup a sheet where I keep all the checks and controls.
I would like to match column data in a source spreadsheet to column data in a target sheet. If a match is found, I would like to copy the corresponding row range from the source sheet to a separate, third sheet. For values where no match in found in the a target sheet, I would color the unmatched cell in the target sheet red. If a match was found, the cells would be colored green. The data in the Source sheet is in column A, while the Data in the Target sheet is in Column T. The data will be pased in the third sheet in Column T preserving original formats
I have this code, gleaned from several postings on this forum that somewhat works. The problem is that I get false mismatches (i.e. some cells get colored red even when there is a match and the data got copied to the third sheet) even though there are no duplicates. I have made sure that the formats are identical in both Target and Source sheets to try to fix this. Also, I don't want to cut the entire row , but just copy and paste a row range onto a third sheet. The column and row ranges are variable. I am attaching a file.!!
Sub CutRows() Dim i As Long, k As Long, n As Variant, r As Range Application. ScreenUpdating = False With Sheets("Source") Set r = Range(.Cells(1, 9), .Cells(65536, 6).End(xlUp)) End With k = 0 i = 6 While Not IsEmpty(Sheets("Target").Cells(i, 20)) n = Application.Match(Sheets("Target").Cells(i, 20).Value, r, 0) If IsNumeric(n) Then Sheets("Target").Cells(i, 20).Interior.ColorIndex = 35 k = k + 1 Sheets("Source").Rows(n).Cut Sheets("Sheet3").Rows(k) Else Sheets("Target").Cells(i, 20).Interior.ColorIndex = 3 End If i = i + 1 Wend Application.CutCopyMode = False Application.ScreenUpdating = True End Sub
I'm trying to compare values in 2 separate columns to see how many times the same value appears in both columns. Ideally I would be able to insert a range function to compare the values in the column "ID 1" against the values in column "ID 2" and return the count of times that a value appears in both columns. For example 2122, 1112 and 1718 appear in both columns and I would like the formula to return a count of 3.
In my actual project I'm comparing 2 columns in the same worksheet. The column are column B with data in cells B2:B10266 against column C with data in cells C2:C18560.
I want to compare the colour column in book1 to the colour column in book 2. If I find a match I want to take the id from book1 and port them over to book2. How do I go about doing this?
I've been trying for a few time to make a sub, on VBA, that writes, in a specific column, " " or 1 depending on the date that is inserted. The thing I can't quite do is:
1 - I have a sheet where the different projects of a company are stored (name, starting date, ending date and person responsible) and where new projects can be added from a UserForm
2 - I also have another sheet were costs from the projects are stored (one line with cost 1 from project 1, another with cost 2 also from project 1 and cost 3 from project 2, etc) and where I can also add a new cost with another UserForm (this cost as also a date that is added, to when it happened)
3 - What I need to do is, on the costs' sheet I need to create a sub that in the last column adds me 1 if the date of the cost added is not a date between the starting and ending date of the project that it corresponds.
Need vba to do the following: Compare 4 Columns for a 100% match: B, F, N, K.
IF ALL 4 columns] contain matches then, it is considered 100% match and can proceed with other code.
'Below is an example of how it should perform the COMPARISON:
'1. Compare what NSN's exists in B3 and B4: '...If = MATCH, proceed to check critical column F for matches '...If = NO MATCH, proceed with 100% FAIL rule.
'2. Compare what NSN's exists in F3 and F4: '...If = MATCH, proceed to check critical column N for matches '...If = NO MATCH, proceed with 100% FAIL rule.
'3. Compare what NSN's exists in N3 and N4: '...If = MATCH, proceed to check critical column K for matches '...If = NO MATCH, proceed with 100% FAIL rule.
4. Compare what NSN's exists in K3 and K4: ...If = MATCH, proceed to the set of rules used to perform updated and merging to these 2 rows. ...If = NO MATCH, proceed with 100% FAIL rule.
PROVIDE MESSAGE: IF all four match, THEN, MsgBox ("100% Match")
IF at any point along the way, one of those columns does NOT match, THEN MsgBox ("NOT a 100% Match")
(for example, if it looks at Col B - finds match, it then moves to F and if F does not match, stop and provide message (no need to continue comparing the last 2 columns)...
I have 24 cells I want to compare to another 24 cells. I want to compare cell G5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 35, 37, 39, 41, 43, 45, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60 with cell K5, 7, 9, etc. Cell G5 has to be compared to K5, G7 with K7 and so on. All the cells consist of is 1, X or 2. I want excel to count the number of matches and write it in cell G63. But since I am a total noob when it comes to excel I have no idea how to do it.
I have two spreadsheets SP1 and SP2. I need to match values in column E of SP1 with values in column A of SP2. If I find a match in SP2, I need to find a value starting with 'TC_' from the previous rows and get the corresponding value in column B of SP2 and paste in column F of SP1.
For example, E1 value in SP1 matches with A3 value in SP2. So I need to find the row with value TC_AM01_axs_fhgn and get the corresponding value in column B AM01 and copy it in column F of SP1.
The two example spreadsheets are given below. The values in SP1 sheet has expected result in column F in red.
