Lookup/Match: Compare A1 For The Values In Column B, Then Return The Corresponding Cell (column C) In Column D
Jan 31, 2008I've been searching the forums for this problem but I can't seem to find any answers. Anyway, this is the problem. See screenshot.
I want to compare A1 for the values in column B, then return the corresponding cell (column C) in column D.
e.g. D1 = 2, D2 = 1, D3 = 4, D4 = 5 and D5 = 3.

Aug 13, 2014I want to compare two columns. I would like to see if the contents of column B appear anywhere in column A, for any amount of rows, and if it does, to place the match in col C.
So in the example below, red in B1 would be checked in A1 through A1000 or however long A is. When any row has red, place that match in that row for C.
This would be repeated until all rows in B are complete.
Example
Col A: red
Col B: red
Col C: red
Col A: red
Col B: blue
Col C: not found

May 27, 2014Basically, i have a workbook that contains 2 worksheets with stock data for two stock holding sites, we're consolidating our stores and need to confirm what stock is held at both sites. I need to compare column C on both sheets to find if an item exists on both sheets, and if so copy the entire row from Sheet 2 onto the next free row on a new sheet. Col C on each sheet contains the stock number, however, on Sheet 1 the stock number is abbreviated ot the final 7 letters, with Sheet 2 showing the FULL stock code.
I need whatever is in "Sheet 1:Col C" (for example '1234567') to be compared to whatever is in "Sheet 2:Col C", and if a match is made (for example 9999-00-1234567) then the row containing the match be copied to the next free row on Sheet 3.
Show Info In Column C, If A & B Match Criteria
Aug 20, 2009What I'm having a hard time is trying to get information from column C to pull into a cell, for a specific student (column A), but only when the entry happens between two set of dates (column B).
Column A = Student Name
Column B = Entry Date
Column C = Entry
So in a different worksheet, the names of the students will already be on the report and each column following will have a date range of a week. So for column B I want the entry that only happened between "09/07/09-"09/13/09". No student will have more than one entry a week so I just want it to locate the entry and fill in automatically. This will repeat for each week after as well.
Compare And Show Changes Between Two Workbooks
Jun 16, 2012Comparing two workbooks. At first the workbooks were quite stable and didn't have no new entries or deletion of old entries so I initially used vlookup to give me what I needed and later found some basic VBA on the internet which did what I required quicker.
The workbooks have now changed slightly where each month new deliverables are added and old ones are deleted. This results in the entries of the two workbooks not aligning in the same rows/cells therefore when I run the vba it highlights 90% of the workbook as its just comparing cells against each other.
Each entry within the workbook has a unique identification number so I can still use VLookup for these however this doesn't allow me to see the new deliverables which have been added of the old deliverables deleted.

Jan 8, 2007I have attached two excel files for easier understanding of what I am trying to explain. One is named Deviltronics which is our product list, the other is named Supplier which is our suppliers product list. The suppliers product list is updated every hour to tell me of new products, products in stock, products out of stock and discontinued products. I have cut the suppliers file down considerably to get it to fit as an attachment on this thread. They currently have about 800 products. Now for how this is currently working and the problem:
I use the suppliers file to add the products to my website manually (which is fine) by using the information on the suppliers file. I also add the product title, SKU and part number from the suppliers file onto our Deviltronics file, this allows me to keep a record. The reason I need this record is so that I can use either the SKU or part number to search the suppliers file to see if a particular product is still in stock or not. You can distinguish the supplier has a lengthy product list, although we will not be putting all of there stock on our website at least 70% of it will be on there, therefore you can see how much of a lengthy process this is if I want to check the products on a daily basis......
Compare 2 Worksheets Show Differences?
Dec 7, 2012I need to compare two worksheets, and show the final results in the Results Sheet.
These two sheets are actually .CSV files and is why some of the cells show as dates.
The SKU column is a combination of Material and Length. we need to find the difference for the Qty of SKU items.
If you look at the results page you will see what the results should be. Colored cells are just to show the differences in the example.

Jun 3, 2007I'm looking at trying to view 1 large keyword phrase list of about 40,000 phrases to another large list.
All I want is a macro, I can assign a button to. Click it and in a new sheet it shows only the rows of data that are different.
I have tried googling it.
I found 1 that looked very good (Not that I really know anything about coding, but I couldnt get it to work.
I'm using excel 2007.

1. W1 has data in Column A, while W2 has none in that column (except for the header row of course).
2. W1 has rows that W2 does not have, and vice-versa.
I need code that will compare three columns in these two sheets. If the data in these three columns for a particular row match between the two worksheets, then for that row, I need the macro to copy the column A cell in W1 to the corresponding column A cell in W2. Finally, I would like an 'x' be placed into a W1 column if a match was found for that row.
The two sheets do not have the same number of rows, but the data being compared in the three columns should combine to form a unique row match between the two worksheets.

Column A is the master codes list for a unique product.
Now every time a product is sold, its unique code number is entered into column B.
What I want excel to do is compare Column A and Column B and show me only the codes that DO NOT match.
This way I know which items should be present in store when I do a physical stock check.
So the end result should be:

If A5 Sheet2 value can be found in ColumnA Sheet1, look for a number in ColumnC, same ROW and compare it to C7 in Sheet2 ?
Bring up difference value, which in this case would be one.
Compare 2 Excel Worksheets - Show Items Added / Removed And Modified
Jul 11, 2014I have 2 worksheets in which the worksheet named Existing Items has a table consisting of list of items with their unit price & worksheet named New Items also has a modified table with updated items (some parts might be added, removed, modified or unchanged). I have attached the test workbook (Sample.xlsx) here for your reference.
I am looking for a macro that compares these 2 sheets with the Part Number as a Unique Identifier & displays the result in the following manner:
New items added in New Items -> List these items in the Items Added worksheet Items removed from Existing Items -> List these items in the Items Removed worksheet Items whose price has changed in New Items -> List these items in the Price Change worksheet Items whose price has not changed in Existing Items & New Items -> List these items in the Unchanged worksheet A Summary worksheet which shows the count of items added, removed, modified & unmodified
Note that I have already included information in the Existing Items, New Items, Price Change, Unchanged & Summary worksheets just for your reference but this needs to be done by a macro.

Mar 19, 2014I've been trying for a few time to make a sub, on VBA, that writes, in a specific column, " " or 1 depending on the date that is inserted. The thing I can't quite do is:
1 - I have a sheet where the different projects of a company are stored (name, starting date, ending date and person responsible) and where new projects can be added from a UserForm
2 - I also have another sheet were costs from the projects are stored (one line with cost 1 from project 1, another with cost 2 also from project 1 and cost 3 from project 2, etc) and where I can also add a new cost with another UserForm (this cost as also a date that is added, to when it happened)
3 - What I need to do is, on the costs' sheet I need to create a sub that in the last column adds me 1 if the date of the cost added is not a date between the starting and ending date of the project that it corresponds.

I want to compare cell G5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 35, 37, 39, 41, 43, 45, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60 with cell K5, 7, 9, etc. Cell G5 has to be compared to K5, G7 with K7 and so on. All the cells consist of is 1, X or 2. I want excel to count the number of matches and write it in cell G63.

Mar 27, 2009I have two spreadsheets SP1 and SP2. I need to match values in column E of SP1 with values in column A of SP2. If I find a match in SP2, I need to find a value starting with 'TC_' from the previous rows and get the corresponding value in column B of SP2 and paste in column F of SP1.
For example, E1 value in SP1 matches with A3 value in SP2. So I need to find the row with value TC_AM01_axs_fhgn and get the corresponding value in column B AM01 and copy it in column F of SP1.
The two example spreadsheets are given below. The values in SP1 sheet has expected result in column F in red.
