Paste Numbers Into Cells

I'm trying to paste some numbers into cells that look like this:
2-3
1-4
4-5
7-8
When I try to paste those into my excel sheet it automatically changes it to a Date. Even if I format the cells to text first the paste copies over my settings and changes it to dates. I tried all the paste special options that come up and none work.

I have a column that looks like the following and I need to add the numbers:
27 skids
31 skids
56 skids
13 skids
The unit "skids" is constant. The answer I am looking for is "127" or "127 skids"

This macro works fine on my machine but not with other users:
This should copy/paste certain cells then paste 3 sheets into a new work book.
ON other computers it seems to paste in a picture? works OK for me?

How would you prevent the copy/paste of cells that have comments?
Also, how would you allow cells with comments to be copied and pasted without pasting the comments?
I also have an aside question about the forum advanced search. When searching for multiple search words, how would you type the search to include all words, for example, "prevent" & "paste" & "comments".

I'm going to be using a spreadsheet to keep track of where different people are at. So if Person 1 is in Room 3, I will stick a 3 in the box next to their name and then can look at the spreadsheet whenever I need and see what room they are in. When I'm deciding what room to put a person in, though, I need to be able to quickly glance at a list of Room #'s and see what one's are still available. So I have a bank of Room #'s in the spreadsheet....1,2,3, etc.
What I'd like, is some way to set this up so that when I put, for example, "3" in the cell next to "Person 1" the spreadsheet automatically removes "3" from the bank of available Room #'s and when I delete the "3" because the person has left, it adds "3" back to the bank of available Rooms.

I have a mass of data which look something like this:
table removed
and I require the ranges of reference numbers to be listed in a column one above the other, which requires inserting new rows. I also need the date & description columns copied down into the newly inserted rows.
So basically for example I would want the top row to now read:
table removed
and then apply the same procedure to the other ranges below this.

In the example above, I would like to do a vlookup in column C that matches the digits in column A to those in column F, with the output being the corresponding value in column G. I believe it involves the left function but not sure how to really use it here.

I have a bunch of numbers which were generated using a function. When i try to copy and paste the number to another spreadsheet i end up pasting the underlying function-formula instead......
Is there a way to copy and paste what is seen in the cell, not what is underlying?

In a word file, I have a list of ID numbers. I want to paste them into a excel file, but the problem is that the last 3 digits of every ID number are converted to "000" no matter what they are. The ID number has 18 digits.

We have a template sheet we use which has a sheet formatted as 'text' - it msu remain this way for another purpose.
We wish to copy information from other sheets/places and paste into the template sheet - but have it as text (with green triangle on it)
I have tried copy and pasting (the sheet is already formatted as text.
I have tried copy and paste special as values but to no avail.
(I have attached a small example which shows the template, data to past and end result of what I require - the redtab sheets are attempts to paste!
I know there is a really simple solution but I cannot for the life of me see it!!!!!!
Please help! Auto Merged Post;I kept searching and have found a way to do it on 1 column...
(Data/Text to columns....text)
- but how do you do it over a sheet that contains say 120 columns (i.e.: en masse)..???

I have a formula that takes various data from a worksheet and places it all into a single row (N2:AY2) using the “=” formula. I then copy this and paste values, then I copy it again to it can be pasted into another application. There is also some various hiding/unhiding that goes on.
Question is, when I paste values it will truncate some numbers. For example if I have $70, it will change it to $7. 11/10 turns into 11/1.

My macro's function is to paste the workdays of an entire month in a specific row of a worksheet. Everything seems to work except using a number to reference the column in which to store the values. I've searched the web for over an hour and found two "solutions":
1. write a function to convert column number to a letter
2. utilize Cells object
#2 seemed more efficient but the function is giving me the error: "Runtime Error: '1004': Method of 'Range' of object "_Worksheet' Failed"

I am using code to filter my 4 sheets Greater then 0 (zero)
After apply above filter now i need to copy multiple rows and paste on another specific workbook for paste i m using below code:
for 1st sheet with the name ("V2")
for 2nd sheet with the name("LV")
For 3rd sheet with the name ("F2")
and 4th sheet with the name("L2")
If I play above code one by one all is going very well,,,,,,or if use in this way all is going very well
But here is a big problem..........if any sheet have no value greater then 0(zero)....then code paste all data... e.g shssts("LV") .Range("C5:C54").Copy but C5:C54 have no data greater then 0(zero) and it will paste on another sheet c5:c54 and again new sheets data will paste below the c54 while c5:c54 have no data.
So I want if any sheet have no data with range is greater then 0(Zero) then skip the copy paste code or use like SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible) .

I have data in some of the cells within range A26:A39
These cells are populated via an IF function on another worksheet. Even though the cells appear blank (as in the value returned is ""), there is a formula in these cells. I think it's called formula blank?
I am looking for a way to copy the data from the cells within the range which are not blank (ie: not = "") and paste this data elsewhere on the sheet in a list with no blank spaces in between.
I anticipate that there will be 4 non blank cells within this range.
Ideally I would have data from the nonblank cells copied and pasted to cells

I have a column of numbers and want to make sure everything has been entered correctly from our scanning software. Basically, I want to automatically highlight any cell that has any letter in it (e.g. z12o2 instead of 21202 or R705 instead of 5705), ignoring any cells that contain only numbers. I haven't had any luck using conditions based on formulas like =ISTEXT.

it should be 1,222.33, but the problem is they input it as like that, i want to copy and paste all the numbers without doing pressing "f2" and delete the period to make it a whole number.

Have been searching the forums for an answer but to no luck very new to excel. What i hope to try and do is change amount in numbers in cell range E4 to L23 which might include a decimal place to the text value in cell F1 leaving all blank cells blank.
I would if possible like to apply this macro to many sheets with lots of different titles in the same workbook
These are 2 examples of is the sort of thing i have been playing around with the bits in red are what i think i need to fill out hopefully i will be able to find some code to appy it to all sheets and add it on. Am I going down the right route

Copying and pasting into non-contiguous cells.
I want to be able to filter my data set, so for example I can filter column A for the value Berkshire, I then want to be able to select all the Berkshire's in Column A (not a problem, simply select them and copy), but I then need to be able to paste them into column B, so they appear in exactly the same rows as they do in Column A, but this doesn't work, it pastes them into hidden cells as well.
I've tried the Alt + ; (Visible Cells Only) option, followed by copy and paste and this makes no difference.
I have over 20,000 rows of data to filter, then copy the relevant cells and move to the same row in another column and currently I'm having to move the cells one by one which is ludicrous.

I have cells 9 selected (9 columns by 1 row)
I need to paste these cells to the empty cells below.
The problem is that the first empty cell below could be any given row number (it will be dynamic) and the last row will also be any given row number (also dynamic).

I now see why alot of you dont like merged cell's. What i am trying to do is Cut and paste a range that contains merged cells. A kit can be created using the Button on the sheet. The cells in column G are merged down to the last kit item. On Row A of the kit the 1st cell contains data validation once the Delete kit cell is re-entered it removes the selected kit from the sheet. Then will select all kits below the (now deleated one) and cut the range, and paste it to where the old kit was located.
When the kit's are pasted into the new location there are issues with the merged cells in column G. Is there a way to fix this issue, or know of another approach to keeping the same layout.
