Pasting Across Columns Instead Of Down Rows

Say I have a list in Column A, down 5 rows:

test 1
test 2
test 3
test 4
test 5

I want to write a macro which does the following:

1. Count number of items in A, call it X.
2. On another worksheet, insert X number of rows.
3. copy each of the items in A, and uses those items as headings in the new columns.

This is where I get to my problem. How do you copy the items in A, and paste them horizontally across the top as headings, instead of the normal vertical?

Copying And Pasting Formatted Columns And Rows

So, I have a document 25 pages long. It has 26 sections (1-26) and each section has up to 10 (.1 - .10) sub sections which contain 16 (a-p) sub-sub-sections. There are 6 columns of varying widths. Some cells, in a row, merge into adjacent cells.

I would like to break this document into 26 documents - one for each section - so that I may recombine and regroup them in the future incorporating a few modifications. Whenever I copy and paste to a new Workbook, I loose the formatting of column widths. Resetting these alone takes lots of time.

I have come up with is to duplicate the entire document and delete everything above and below the section I would like to save. Then repeat for next section. There's got to be a better way?

Pasting Multiple Columns Into A Single Column?

My starting point is a big data set that needed to be validated by several users. I split the data set into smaller sets that were sent out. All users have filled in the same column called "Input"

What I would like to be able to do is to paste their input into a single column on my original data set and keep the name of the input next to it. Is it possible to paste without overlapping prexisting data ? Something of the likes of F5 ("Select blank cells/text") ?

I've attached a simple file with dummy data to explain myself.

Macro For Copying Columns From One Sheet Onto Another Is Pasting A Picture Instead

I have a sheet made into a form with some check boxes included. If I select all the relevant columns, create a new sheet, and paste into cell A1 - all of the information carries over just fine. You can still select cells and check the boxes in the new sheet.

However, when I record this action as a macro, using the macro produces a picture of the selected columns instead of actually copy/pasting the information. I can't click on the cells or check boxes. I can only move the picture around within the new sheet.

Cutting And Pasting Rows In To A New Worksheet

I am trying to develop a macro in excel that CUTS AND PASTES rows of data from one worksheet in to the next available row in a new worksheet if there is a date in a particular cell. If the cells that are being checked for a date are empty, then the routine would skip these rows of data.

Here is an example of the worksheet. All rows containing a date in the Scanned column, would be cut and pasted in to a new worksheet. And any rows that have an empty cell in the Scanned column are ignored. If the Scanned column is filled at a later date, then when the macro is run, the data in that row would be cut and pasted in to the next available row in the new worksheet.

I have code that "mostly" works great. I'm copying columns from one sheet to another sheet, but in different columns. I have unique code for each copy/paste. The source is mostly raw data. However, there are a few columns that are formula-based, and I'm having a problem. I've attached my code, and it works, but it takes 20 minutes to complete.

I'm very new to macros, but I think(?) I know enough that a data source with 2,000 rows and 30 columns shouldn't take 20 minutes to complete the macro calculations. All of the columns (copy and paste) in the code are pure data. The only exception is the column labeled "AI". Is there are shortcut, other than creating new columns in the source data sheet and pasting these results as values? I put the specific pieces of code that I'm referencing in bold.

In column A I have the age of a sale i have completed (compared against todays date) and from B - N of the same row i have the data that coresponds to the sale. As Column A changes daily by 1 i would like to only keep the rows whereby column A is between 1 - 10. For any that are above 10 I would like to cut and paste to a second sheet, strangely entitled "older than 10 days" !

as there are formulas after column N which calculates the data i would only like to cut columns B - N of the specific row.

I think I need to create a macro that first sorts column A so I have the oldest data at the top and then a loop to check if these are above 10, i then want to cut from B - N and paste into another sheet.

Remove Empty Table Rows Before Pasting New Data?

I have a table into which I paste values to ColumnA. The other columns have formulas. The number of values to be pasted varies. When the number being pasted this time is less than the number pasted last time, empty rows remain above the valid data after sorting, which is undesirable. I want to get rid of those rows just before (or after?) pasting the new values. The way I see it is I want to delete all but the first data row of the table so the formulas remain untouched in the first row. Then, as new values are pasted the formulas replicate automatically.

Macro Adds Blank Rows When Pasting Data In From Another Sheet?

I have a macro which opens a csv file, moves a few columns about then pastes the data into a master workbook. The problem I have is that even though there is only around 1,500 rows of data on the csv file, the sheet on the master workbook is showing up to row 1,048,576 after the data has been pasted in! This is causing issues as I use this data later on in the macro and there are a couple of 'find and replace' commands that take an age to run because of the number of blank rows.

I am attaching a sample excel sheet showing what I need to do.In the first tab, I have a list that includes duplicate rows (first column only). I want to remove those duplicate rows but I don't want to lose the data in the following columns which can be unique or duplicates as well.

Keep in mind that the actual source file I am working with could have up to 50000 row, and the expected results could be around 2000 rows. So nothing can be done manually.

I can't figure out how to record the macro to tell it to then skip the blank line, collect the next set of data, and put it in the next row. I can do it for two, but then it just replaces the first two with the next two and I lose data.

Column A is numbered 1 -100 successively Column B thru D contains data that goes with the assigned number in column A. I need to be able to move rows of data in column B through D to a different set of rows all at the same time (not one cell at a time) without disturbing the set numbers in column A. And with that, have all the other rows of data automatically adjust accordingly(not to be deleted or replaced).

I have individual data files (one for each participant). Each file has 64 rows (one for each trial in an experiment) and 18 columns (one for each variable). I would like to create a master data file in which each participant is represented in a single row. I will then have 1152 columns (18 columns for the variables, repeating 64 times so that each trial is represented).

In other words, my individual data files look something like this:

Participant 1 (title of data file)

Trial/var1/var2/var3
1 55 43 65
2 54 43 56
3 33 23 56

and I want to compile all the data into a single file that looks like this:
Participant/Trial1_var1/Trial1_var2/Trial1_var3/Trial2_var1/Trial2_var2/ ...

2 . . .

I know how to record macros and use IF, THEN, AND, & SUMIF statements creatively, but that's about it. I was hoping to record a macro that I could use on each individual data file to turn it into a single row, and then paste each row into the master file.

How to align two columns that sometimes have rows that are unequal in number. The data is sourced from a web page that has a table layout and the table lays out the one to many values this way in the table. My data looks like this:

Table ...Term

t2 ......term2

..........term2.b

t3 ......term3
..........term3.b

The editor removes leading spaces. In the column Table there are only three rows but in column Term there are multiple rows per single row from column Table. So one row t2 for column Table has three rows in column Term. Are these cells merged and can I in a mcro detect if the cells are merged? How is the addressing of the merged cells in a VBA macro?

I have 20,000 columns of data that I need turned into 4 rows.

I know about copying and paste special (transpose), however, the data is in groups of 4 columns

Example:

3. City, State

Turn Rows Into Columns?

In Column 'A' I have part numbers. In Column B I have suppliers that supply that part number. My report drops into excel as per the below table. My issue is if a part number can be supplied by more than one supplier it duplicates the part number in Column 'A' based on how many suppliers can supply that part number In Column 'B' it will list each supplier for that part number In the table below you can see that part number 1122 can be supplied by supplier 'ABC' and also 'DEF' - Part number 9966 can be supplied by 3 different suppliers so lists the part number 3 times in Column 'A' and in column 'B' it lists each supplier i.e. 'TUV', 'WX' and 'YZ'

What I want to be able to do is the suppliers in Column 'B' be listed in the cells to the right of the part number and dupliactions in Column 'A' be removed

Rows To Columns With Linebreaks

I have a list of election results for the British election in 2010 which I'm trying to compile into a format like this: [URL] ...

The list of base data I have however has each constituency in columns rather than in rows: [URL] ....

I know there's the copy and paste using the Transpose tool, but I don't really want to have to do this 650 times for each individual constituency: is there any way I can select all of it and do some kind of trick so that it knows when to go to a new row based on when the name of the constituency changes?
