why it is counting every blank cell as 1. I have tried to copy my data as paste as special value and run pivot again but I get the same result. For you visual consideration, I've attached a sample spreadsheet.
I'm finding my way in pivottables (which is a new function to me).
I can now create one to count the item I wish (see attached).
I'm trying to get the table to display, but not use for counting, the rest of the row calls associated with the counted data.
For example, looking at attached, the source data is so: ComponentPart NumberValuePackageType C1C0805COG1NFJ50V 1nF0805 COG 5% 50V C2C0805COG1NFJ50V 1nF0805 COG 5% 50V
I'm counting how many instances there are of the part numbers and displaying in the pivottable as so: ...
How do I make sure that my pivot table has no blank cells?
For instance if I have a store with more then 1 barcode of sales against it it will give me the store once at the top left cell of the first column and then the list of barcodes in the column next to it.
I want the store name to appear next to each barcode. Pivot tables make vlookups a pain in the arse to do and I'm sick of having to get around that by copying the pivot table into a blank sheet as values then using the autofilter to filter the blanks and use an ='theabovecell' formula to fill the blanks for all of the columns one by one.
I have a pivot table that compares year-on-year sales data for accounts. If an account didn't have sales for the earlier year, the custom calculation errors #DIV/0! which I can show as at the account level. Problem is at the subtotal levels, I also get the error when I should be getting a value for the group. The error for the one account is affecting my subtotal.
Is there a way I can Show Empty Cells as a VALUE instead of TEXT of say... 0.001 so I can eliminate the error messages?
how to fill the blank cells in a Pivot table. I am using Excel 2007. How to do it in excel 2007. Heard that there is a provision in excel 2010 version.
how to create a pivot table that does not skip through blank data cells. I have a pivot table with data for several dates, but not every date has a data point. I would want the pivot table to show all the dates with the blanks, rather than skip through the days with no data.
Hi, I desperately need help with a pivot-table and can't find anyone else who's ever had this problem...I have a very large healthcare data table which for simplicity I will describe as follows. In essence the first two columns respectively are (A) location and (B) month. Let's say the third column (C) is the number of cases of the disease kidpox treated in each health centre during that month. The fourth column (D) is the total number of cases of everything treated during that month in each clinic. The fifth column (E) is the proportion of cases of this disease over all consultations for each health centre and month, and the formula in E2 is .....
I have a big list of names of people that have completed a bunch of training they have completed. I want to be able to run a pivot table/chart and only count a user once vice each time they have completed a training. So in otherwords I want to get a count of how many people are on the list vice how many certifications they have.
My ultimate goal is to take my spreadsheet listing a large number of events and attendees and create a graph that gives a breakdown of the distribution of events by type.
Etc. (Note I don't need the date for my information, I was just including it to give an idea of what I'm working with.)
I'm trying to create a pivot table that lists the all the different Types and then the number of Events that each Type has, so I can make a graph that shows it.
I have a column C which list Unique ID and this ID can be repeated several times in Column C. For each row the Unique ID has a value in Column D of how many sick hours are taken. I would like to create a pivot table which would provide a count of the Unique IDs and the total number of hours for the Sector in Column A.
I have column in my table that calculates time in hours between now and ticket open date (ticket open date in B1) so, in C1 i have following formula:
=(now()-B1)*24
Results are in hours, such as 15, 25, 32, 65 etc
In pivot table, I would like to see how many tickets with values of less than 24 or more than 48, etc
My available columns are: Region, Ticket#, AgingOpenHr(this new column).
I tried it different ways, and I cannot get it Less Than and Greater Than work under Values, works if I select grater than or less than in Label, but label does not produce consistent numbers.
I have a problem when Im trying to calculate averages in my pivot table. I dont know how to handle my missing values. If I leave them blank I cant get the average at all because the values end up under the dates instead of in a column next to the dates where I want them to be. If I write 0 it uses it as a value, eg 2+2+0 and i get 1,33 instead of 2. Also the zero could be a value for some of the parameters, so it's no good.
I have attached a spreadsheet with some tele numbers. What i need to do is to find out which column only has 1 telephone number, eg. only a cellphone number, etc. I have aboout 50 000 records that i need to check if only 1 telephone number is available. Can i use the countblank function?
I am trying to write a formula for the following can anyone help please? I have column D with blank cells and some with purchase order numbers in them. I want to count the blank cells in column D but only if the blank is 3days older than the date recorded in column A. Once I have done this I want to count ther same on every work sheet and I have 24 off them and get one answer. This will tell us all the outstanding purchase order older than 3days
I'm using pivot table and i want to erase the blank cell that come out with pivot table and replace it with number 0 or -, how can i do that ? i've be try to do this by go to the table option and in the empty cells check list i've put 0 or - but the pivot table still come out "blank".
I have a pivot table with 3 levels of titles in the Row Labels - Grouping, SubGrouping and Name. In many cases there is a Grouping but no SubGrouping and always there is data in the "Name" category. I am trying to eliminate the Subtotal for the blank SubGroupings but when I try to filter out the blanks it no longer shows me any Groupings where a SubGrouping doesn't exist.
I have a Colom with dates, some cell are coloured and others not, some of the non-coloured cells have dates and some not. I would like to count ONLY the non-coloured cells without dates in them.
I am trying to put together a table from which I'll attach a chart showing-at a glance-where open complaints are in our process:
are they open, closed, waiting for samples, waiting for QC, QC'd pending admin approval, etc.
my log consists of a lot of columns which track various pertinant info about each complaint. Such as A-complaint ID, B-date opened, C-date closed, K-initial QC investigation, L-final QC, M-admin status (pending/approved/denighed), N-notes (boiler plate notes like "pending ra samples" or "closed").
I used this formula alot in my various analyses =SUMPRODUCT(--(YEAR(Log!open)=$O74),--('ComplaintLog (101408).xls'!iqc="pending")) without issue.
Until now. I want to search multiple criteria starting with the year (2009, in this case) and whether or not the issue is closed (date in column C). Only need a count.
How do I append the sumproduct formula? I've looked at isblank but get crazy results from #value to #name to 340 (I only have 292).
I have the column E in excel labeled 'Notes' in tab 1 adding at the bottom of the column using(=COUNTA(E2:E29), so if the cell is empty it doesnt add it up in the totals. In tab two i have that same column linked via formula. In tab 2 its counting the empty cells because even though they appear blank they have a formulas in them how do i get it to not count those cells. here is the formula im using in column E tab 2.
I have a spreadsheet that is used to capture information about Service Requests that my team handles in a 6 month period. At the end of January, the metrics for January will be added and the metrics for July will "fall off".
I need to be able to calculate the number of requests that were still active for each month. The formula I have created for this is below:
=COUNTIFS(Table1[Date Submitted],"Month Beginning of the First Month Being Reported", Table1[Date Closed], ">A Day Before Current Month Closing")
So, if my reporting period was July 2012 to December 2012, my formula for December would look like:
This accounts for anything that was opened in the months that was not closed before the month closing of the current month being reported.
I have two issues that I'm having with this formula:
1. The formula does not take into account the Service Requests that do not have a date in the "Date Closed" columns. Is there a way I can also count the items that have a blank "Date Closed"?
2. This formula will have to be changed every time a month "falls off". For example, when the reporting period changes from July to December to August to January, the formula for December will change to:
Why do blank columns with no information sometimes appear when I prepare pivot tables? Excel Version 2010. I hide the columns, but many times they re-appear on screen or print-outs.
see attached doc. The graph is showing the overall % from the table above. However months april-december are blank although they have a formula in them. This is causing the graph to show thes months as 0%.
I have a simple date formula that I want to present "yes" in a cell when another cells date is less then or equal to "Today". I just can't figure out how to make it show my result cell as blank if my date cell is blank?
here is my formula.... =IF(G8 <= TODAY(), "YES", "")
