Pivot Table Output To Numerous Worksheets
Apr 3, 2008
I believe in the past that I have told Excel to send the output of the pivot table to different worksheets. For example if I have three regions- the pivot table would send the output to three worksheets and name the worksheets with the three regions.

I have a pivot table that has about 20 categories of Asset Numbers as a filter. I use the show pages function to create individual sheets for each category, but I don't want pivot tables to be the output; I want the detail from the pivot table (the rows that are displayed when you double-click the grand total). I have been messing around with various macros, but can't seem to find the right commands to get this output.

I have an excel sheet with multiple pivot tables. I would like to customize the output based on a criteria when I double click on these pivot tables. Criteria could be different for each pivot table. Criteria for each pivot is to auto fit the contents, delete certain columns and format the contents.

My workbook is a variation of the below repeated on a number of sheets.
Sheet 1
A
B
C
1
Name
Carrots
Peas
2
John Smith
0
7
3
John Doe
2
1
4
Joe Bloggs
4
0
On a separate summary sheet Im struggling to create a formula that would look through all sheets and Sum where 'John Smith' appears and then sum the number of 'Carrots' (if any) and 'Peas' and then the same for any other names that has values attached to it. The names in each sheet may not be in the same order or appear at all otherwise I would just use a standard sum on each sheet.

I have two worksheets. One shows imports, the other sales.
I might import Item A at a price of $1.00 and a few months later Item A costs $1.25. I got 100 at $1.00 and 40 at $1.25.
I have sold a total of 110 items.
What I want to do is make a pivot table from both worksheets. I want it to show that I imported 140 units of Item A at a total cost of $150.00 yet I have only spent $112.50. My arrangement with the source vendor is to pay AFTER the product is sold. So I owe $112.50 to the source vendor.
I've tried copy and paste of one sheet into a 3rd new sheet and then copy and paste the common information PLUS Quantity Sold from the 2nd sheet into the 3rd.
When I make the pivot table, and I can not get Item A to multiply 100 x $1.00 and 10 x $1.25. It shows sales of 100 and sales of 10. I can get it to show costs of $1.00 and $1.25. But I can not get it to multiply, as the figures are one two different lines.

I want to create a summary pivot table report + chart. What I have is 12 worksheets, one for each month, each with total amount invoiced and gross profit by client.
I want a pivot table that shows me the clients and amounts each month (this is the bit stumping me). Basically I want a drop down box to select the month on the pivot table, which then shows the data from the relevant worksheet (Aug-09, Sep-09 or whatever).
I've tried using multiple consolidation ranges but this just aggregates all the data; it doesn't allow me to limit by the worksheet the data has come from.
I'm wondering if I have to consolidate all my months into one big sheet, then add a field for the month. I would rather avoid this but accept it might be the only way.
Final thing; can't use VBA at all (too much hassle for IT apparently).

I have a spreadsheet with data across multiple worksheets and I am trying to figure out how to use the data from the multiple spreadsheets to create a single pivot table on a separate worksheet. I cannot reasonably bring all the data into one workshet because each one has thousands of rows. I want to pull data from select columns in each worksheet. How can I isolate only the data I need from different worksheets into one pivot table?

I am using Excel 2007. I have a population that I used to create a pivot table. I am currently double clicking on the value cells to create worksheets of only particular "row label" categories. I am then copying the "row label" information into the newly generated work sheet name tab. This works fine when I only have a few "row label" categories to do but it is tedious if there are many categories.
Is there any way to automate the creation of work sheets for all row label values and also naming each work sheet tab with it's respective row label information. Here are images of the pibot table and the type of work sheet I would like for wall row label values.

I upgraded to Excel 2010 from Excel 2000 a couple months ago. In Excel 2010, after double-clicking on values in a pivot table to create a new worksheets, I'm unable to highlight those worksheets and add a column to all of them. I was able to do this in Excel 2000... I can't figure out what's stopping it from happening for the life of me. Am I missing something obvious here?

I have a workbook with numerous worksheets that contain text, steps actually. I would like to select all common words and change their formatting to bold. Every time I try however, it formats the entire cell in bold. Is there a way to isolate just the word "click" for instance in all the cells in each worksheet and change the formatting to bold, and leave the other text within the cell normal?

On a worksheet, I created:
- a list of data
- a pivottable based on these data
When moving this worksheet this worksheet to another workbook, the pivot table can't refresh anymore. This throws an error message "Reference is not valid". To work around this problem I need to adapt the datasource. The same occurs if the list and the pivot table are on separate sheet, with the added strange behaviour that, when data an PT are split, it is not possible to move both sheet together.
This would not be a big issue if my problem had to be solved manually. The real problem is that I need to move the sheets from a C# program.

I have a worksheet with two pivot tables, one of which is visible to the user. Ideally, the user should be able to change the "Row Label" field settings of the visible pivot table and then press an "update button" that then adds the same field to the second pivot table.
Ideally, the ordering of the fields should also be made similar between the two tables, though this is of less priority.
I imagine it would be something in the style of:
"If number of Pivot1 active row label fields = X then
Pivot 2.AddRowLabelField = Pivot1.RowLabelField(X)
end if"

At this time I am going to all 3 or 4 pivot table to select the correct date. The date is in the page position of the pivot table. I have attached a small sample of the data and the pivot tables.

creating a macro that would compare two worksheets and their differences would be copied into a third worksheet in the same workbook? Several key criteria is needed:
1) The third worksheet would need to note only the data from the 1st and 2nd worksheets (including headers) that had differences. An additional column would do the difference calculations for the data whereby numeric values are subtracted (worksheet 2 from worksheet 1 values) and non-numeric values would note "Pass" or "Fail".
2) All data values that had differences would be formatted in yellow shading on the third worksheet.
3) The unique ids from column A in worksheet 1 would have to have be noted in column A of the third worksheet; even if they didn't have a difference from worksheet 2.
4) The third worksheet would need to note all of the columns noted in worksheet 1 and include the difference column for each unique column.
5) Flexibility in code to allow for addition of new columns to analysis.
see attached sample spreadsheet whereby Worksheet 1 = "dv file", Worksheet 2 = "price file" and Worksheet 3 = "Error" for purposes of this discussion.

I'm trying to compare 2 worksheets with the same headers(NAME, ADDRESS, CONTACT NO...). What codes should I use that when there is a duplicated row in worksheet A and worksheet B, it will be deleted and when there are 2 names with different addresses and/or contact no, the whole row in file A will be obtained. Output should also be in another worksheet. It goes like this.
worksheet A
NAME ADDRESS CONTACT NO
JOE ABC 123
MIL XYZ 567
NIK LMN 234
NED QRS 456
[Code]...
So the output should be:
worksheet C
NAME ADDRESS CONTACT NO
JOE ABC 123
MIL XYZ 567
NIK LMN 234
NED QRS 456
JIM JKL 345
SAM FGH 789
Is this possible in vba?

I created a Vlookup table so that when you type a ticker into Cell B3, it tells the user how many points and what percentage of the criteria the stock passes. I would like to create a macro (or something) that takes each ticker in the Ticker sheet, enters it in the Cell B3, and then transfers the data that the vlookup table produces to the output sheet. My attachment is a simplified version of the real spreadsheet.
I hope this isn't a duplicate question. I did look, but maybe I'm not phrasing it correctly. A reference to a similar problem works too.

I have a long chain of formulas calculating the return on a particular investment in equipment. We'll call the inputs A, B, and C, and the output (total savings generated) Z. There are several set combinations of values for A, B, and C that I'm interested in generating a summary report for.
There are a number of steps in-between the inputs that I'm interested in, all of which are necessary to get to the output, but is there a good way to have excel chart inputs and outputs without filling out the intervening data?
I suppose the whole thing is essentially a multi-variable, multi-step data table.

For what I'd like to do, the attached workbook actually represents 3 worksheet. one input sheet and two output sheets (output1 and output2)
I plan to use command button " CommandButton1" on input sheet to start the calculations
Here's what I want to do after pressing the " CommandButton1" :
1. start with case 1 and find the value of Input A to Input J from input table using Vlookup and paste those values to respective palceholder for inputs in blue colour area above the input table for each input.
2.for empty cell in the input table paste 0 (zero)
3. after this will give results for case 1 inputs on sheets "output1" and "output2" on basis of formulas used for each output
4.then copy the results for case 1 inputs from sheet "output1" and "output2" and paste them on "input sheet " in Output table (its below Input Table) next to case1
5.Do this for all cases (in actual workbook there will be more than 100 cases)

I have a pivot table in the first sheet which includes the field "Date" as a column label.
In the remaining sheets, except for one, there are pivot tables based on the same underlying dataset which also include the field "Date" as a column label.
I would like to adjust the selection (i.e., exclude some dates) from the column label in the first sheet and see if it is possible to make the same adjustments automatically to the pivot tables in the remaining sheets as well.
note that the field "Date" is used as a Column label, i.e., it is not a Report filter.

My input data for Pivot table has a column named "Month". The month values are like April 07, April 08, Nov07 in random order for period between Jan 07 to Aug 08.
When I create a pivot Table, this column is sorted alphabetically (April 07 is followed by April 08) but I need it to be sorted in the ascending order with respect to month (April 07 is followed by May 07).
I further use this data to plot a Pivot Chart. There is another issue here. I want to use separate colors for each series. I do not know how to achieve above 2 things.

I have data from (row 1, column 1) to (row 53, column 5) on 283 consecutive worksheets in a singular excel file that I would like to be presented on a singular worksheet starting from the data on worksheet 1 and descending to the data on worksheet 283.
I am looking for a copy and paste loop solution that will copy the data from each page and sequentially paste the results on a singular output page in descending order (worksheet 1 data, worksheet 2 data... etc) so that I can sort the data.

I'm not grasping the Pivot Table correctly. I've written code to create a sum of values based on a worksheet. Specifically:LocationIDDeptSum of Hours Worked. Location, ID and Dept are rows. This effectively provides the aggregate values that I need based on the row groupings. Here's where this is falling apart. I need to create a new worksheet based on these values. I assumed the three row values - Location, ID and dept - would be in a hierarchy. It's possible they are, I just can't figure out the object model.
When I loop through the PivotItems collection of the PivotFields("Location"), I get what I need. However, I'm unable to determine how to loop through the child values (just for that location). PivotFields("ID") returns all IDs. I can't figure out how to return only the child entries for each pivot item. GetPivotData hasn't been very useful for this. As far as I can tell, GetPivotData, while its return type is listed as Range, throws an error when more than one cell is returned. Worst case, I suppose I can just parse the data in the DataBodyRange of the pivot table - maybe not, I haven't tried that. I'm hoping there's a way to iterate through these collections, but based on what I've seen from Google searches, there may not be. Does my pivot table need to be rearranged? I suppose I could also just dump this data into a data table
