Adjust Column Label Selection Multiple Pivot Tables Based On One Pivot Table
Aug 16, 2013
I have a pivot table in the first sheet which includes the field "Date" as a column label.
In the remaining sheets, except for one, there are pivot tables based on the same underlying dataset which also include the field "Date" as a column label.
I would like to adjust the selection (i.e., exclude some dates) from the column label in the first sheet and see if it is possible to make the same adjustments automatically to the pivot tables in the remaining sheets as well.
note that the field "Date" is used as a Column label, i.e., it is not a Report filter.
I have ~ 300 pivots (one on each tab) all linking to one data set in the same workbook. I realized that I neglected to select the year 2006 in my column label for every pivot table and hoping that there is some way to
simultaneously update all pivots to include 2006 data instead of manually checking the box off one by one.
I have a worksheet with two pivot tables, one of which is visible to the user. Ideally, the user should be able to change the "Row Label" field settings of the visible pivot table and then press an "update button" that then adds the same field to the second pivot table.
Ideally, the ordering of the fields should also be made similar between the two tables, though this is of less priority.
I imagine it would be something in the style of:
"If number of Pivot1 active row label fields = X then Pivot 2.AddRowLabelField = Pivot1.RowLabelField(X) end if"
I currently have several pivot table that's linked to a single pivot table(let's call it X) in the same workbook. I'm doing this to limit the file size because the data in X comes from a text file that has millions of lines. However, it's such a pain every time I need to update the tables because simply clicking "refresh" does not update those tables that are linked to X with new data. I would have to instruct the wizard in every linked table to point to X every time. I'm trying to write a small program to re-point to X for each of those other pivot tables whenever i refresh data. However, after trying to record the steps to do this I'm still unable to run these
I have a bunch of raw sales data, by individual, which I would like to quartile to determine who is performing at which level.
Not all of this data should factor into the Quartile - a T/F "Exclude?" column flags the individuals who should not count in the quartile for any given month.
I then built a pivot like this with the Row Labels nest like such:
Exclude Year Month Agent
What I would like to do is define a formula that will quartile all of the agents where Exlude is False, Year is 2011, and the Month is January. And I would like this work going forward, so manually defining the range each month would not be a fix.
What do you all think? Is there a way to do this? To tell it to only quartile the individuals for each month?
I have a single workbook with multiple worksheets. Each worksheet has a different pivot table displaying a different view of the data. Each pivot table uses the same source data at worksheet1.
Each week i add new data to the end of the source data, which means that I need change the source data reference separately in each pivot table to update each pivot table view to include the new data. This is laborious as there are quite a few pivot tables.
Was wondering if there is some way of changing the pivot table source data reference on all pivot tables at the same time.
I have 12 months worth of data in twelve separate workbooks each with a pivot table, I have copy/moved the pivot table tab from each into one workbook so now I have a workbook that consists of 12 tabs each with a pivot table. What I would like to be able to do is create a summary table with the full years data; where I am running into problems is that each months table has slightly different row and column counts and labels making any formula like =sum([sheet 1 cell a1]+[sheet 2 cell a1]) problematic.
I am trying to generate several pivot tables from one data source table. I have successfully created my first pivot table (A date field, and a water storage facility level reading) and subsequently a graph from this. I have worked out that I need to group my dates as I am supplied a daily reading, but only need monthly average. All worked great.
Now i need to create more pivot tables and graphs. The next one I want is to create one grouped by years. But when I create this new pivot table and change the grouping of the date field to yearly, it also changes the grouping on my first pivot table, which is undoing my work. How to tell excel that these pivots are independent, and I don't want them changing in unison? See screen grab of my source data and where I am up to...

I have a pivot table with multiple row fields and multiple column fields. One of the column fields is a Date and I need some VBA that will auto-sort the columns into ascending order by the Date column field.
E.g., if the first four column labels are "2-Jun-2010, 13-May-2009, 16-May-2013, 17-May-2012" then i want the sort to arrange them as "13-May-2009, 2-Jun-2010, 17-May-2012, 16-May-2013".
Note: This is the left to right order of the columns i'm talking about, not the top to bottom order of the rows, or the data in the rows but specifically the column labels.
I've tried googling a solution and I can find a variety of code that deals with sorting the data in the rows in all sorts of ways, but nothing on how to order the columns.
i'm using excel 07, and the source data for the pivot table has the Date field formatted as custom "dd-mmm-yyyy". This can be changed if necessary.
I am trying to update multiple pivot tables from different OLAP cubes based on the same cell value that an user defines, namely one country for which he/she wants the create the report for. The code I recorded goes like this:
VB: Sub TUR()
Sheets("Pivot").Select ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable1").PivotFields("[Geography].[Geography]"). _ ClearAllFilters ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable1").PivotFields("[Geography].[Geography]"). _ CurrentPageName = "[Geography].&[TUR]" End Sub
In this example, TUR stands for Turkey.
Basically, I have over 20 countries and at least 3 different OLAP cube-based pivot tables in my report, I can do it with 3 x 20 different macros but that seems like taking the long way.
I have the following code and I can't work out how to fix it. What i want is for the macro to create the pivot table from the "used range" in a worksheet but I want it to be formatted as a 2007 pivot table. The reason I say this I because I have some 2003 code which works very well which is where the idea of this come from but it doesn't seem to work here. I have highlighted the problem in orange, I know the rest of the code works because when I replace the orange bit with
"Raw Data!R28868:C33" it works.
Sub CreatPivot() Dim wksdata As Worksheet Dim rngdata As Range Dim wksdest As Worksheet Dim pvtTable As PivotTable Set wksdata = ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("Raw Data") Set rngdata = wksdata.UsedRange.........................
My input data for Pivot table has a column named "Month". The month values are like April 07, April 08, Nov07 in random order for period between Jan 07 to Aug 08.
When I create a pivot Table, this column is sorted alphabetically (April 07 is followed by April 08) but I need it to be sorted in the ascending order with respect to month (April 07 is followed by May 07).
I further use this data to plot a Pivot Chart. There is another issue here. I want to use separate colors for each series. I do not know how to achieve above 2 things.
Everyday I've to make Pivot Table from Data given by Branch Manager. When I create Pivot, my Row Label comes in order like
ICV TRUCK LCV BUS LCV TRUCK MCV BUS MCV TRUCK PICKUP & SCV shown in "automaticPivot" sheet in attached file. Later I arrange it in order of MCV BUS LCV BUS MCV TRUCK ICV TRUCK LCV TRUCK PICKUP SCV by dragging manually everyday shown in "desiredRowLabelSort" sheet.
Is there any way that sort Row Label automatically instead of manually OR any other faster way than doing manually?
I have a Pivot Table set up that is summarizing some work responsibilities, and within the data table that the Pivot is referencing, there is a field for a Hyperlink that will take the user to the location on the network where the work has been saved. I am not sure if it is possible, but I want to have that Hyperlink work in the Pivot Table as well, and not just display the text for the link.
Note my current selection ("Marysville-Service Center"). Using VBA, how would I go about retrieving the upper level row label - "BLACK" in this case? How would I get the level above that ("16GB"), and etc ("APPLE IPAD MINI7" then "2.Recommended"). How can I tell how many rows are above the current selection...say if I want to retrieve the highest tier?
I have a portfolio of 23 funds and I need to calculate IRR for each one every month.
The problem is that I have dispersed information for each fund.
For instance in sheet CashCallsBD I have a table with the funds cash calls. This table has a first column with the Fund Name then other column with the cash call date, another column with the cash call value. This table may have other columns. One fund may have several cash calls.
In sheet DividendosBD there is a table with some columns that refer to cash distribution movements. The main columns relevant for this case are Fund Name, Date and finally Cash Distribution (signed in red in the attached document)
And then my problem: In order to calculate IRR for each fund I need to create a table (for each fund) that merges and sorts the information of CashCallsBD, Dividendos BD and present market value for each fund and then apply the XIRR function. For each fund this sorted table would have at least 2 columns (date and values).
I'm wanting to copy all data from my pivot table expect for the last Column, "Clients" and paste it as html in an email using a caller called function. I have been able to get my data, but lose all the pivot table design formatting when using the below:
and my paste code is as follows:
I've also tried the .pivotfields("clients").orientation=xlhidden but didn't work for me. It only copied blank data and also hid that Column from my actual source pivot table.
I have a pivot table with report filter as "Date". I have a variable with date 01/06/13 ( passing the date in the variable using inputbox). I want next available option should be selected after 01/06/13. For example there are four options in Date (report filter) i.e. 01/06/13,02/06/13,03/06/13,04/06/13. if value of variable is 01/06/13 then selection in the pivot table should be 02/06/13. if it is 02/06/13 then selection in the pivot table should be 03/06/13.
Have been going round and round on this! I have a set of data that shows sales dollars by weeks. Currently, that data is in a Pivot table. I'd like to have a macro that selects the weeks (1-52) based on my input. For example. If I want to see weeks 5-52, I want to be able to input "5-52" somewhere and have a macro run that will select weeks 5-52 in the pivot table instead of having to go in and manually select each.
I am having a lot of trouble with pivot tables in Excel 2007 VBA. I am trying to create pivot tables using macros (connected to buttons the user can press to create the pivot table) - please don't ask why, but i need to do this!!!
I used the record fuction in excel 2007 to produce macro code which will produce the required pivot tables when the user presses a button.
Unfortuanately the coding seems to work fine when i have one pivot table in a file but breaks down if i record code to produce another pivot table.
I have attached some code below (which was produced by the record function) and is intended to produce 2 seperate pivot tables (the macro submacro2 produces the 1st pivot table and the macro submacro4 lower down the page produces the 2nd pivot table). I have also indicated the point in sub 4 where the code breaks down - basically submacro4 just doesnt run!
