Possible To Save Areas Of Spreadsheet As Image Files Via VBA?
Sep 27, 2013
I produce spreadsheets which is conditionally formatted to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The tables are separated by one line, and can easily be defined by VBA, I was wondering if it is be possible to export them as image files via vba? I know it can be done for graphs, but not sure about defined sections of the worksheet?
How to do a ranking for productivity based on goals in six categories for my employees. I want to be able to rank them on these key categories and rank them based on the best average. For instance:
Employee #001 Ranked 1st in Sales per Hour, 3rd in Avg Transaction Amount, 2nd in Multiple Sales, 5th in Accessory Percentage Employee #002 Ranked 2nd in Sales per Hour, 1st in Avg Transaction Amount, 1st in Multiple Sales, 4th in Accessory Percentage
I want to factor against the goals to determine each individual rank for each category and then rank based on the combination of them all.
I haven't gotten to all the additional conditional formatting but recall how to do this with ease, but the sheet in its basic format is present in the attachment below.
I would like to list all the files I have in a directory. I know how to do this.
* * *
Now I would like to list just the image files such as PNG, JPG etc. I mean just the files I could get with: Application.Dialogs(xlDialogInsertPicture).Show
My Problem, I don't know what extension is "Todas las imagenes", "All the Images" I mean the Extension I get When using: Application.Dialogs(xlDialogInsertPicture).Show
Often I need to add data from one spreadsheet to the appropriate places on another spreadsheet. For example:
Sheet A has 10,000 records with these fields: id#, name, address, place of employment.
Sheet B has 5,000 records these fields: id#, GPA, college major, type of degree.
Some of the records in B contain information for the same id#'s as sheet A. I want to add this information together so that a Sheet C will have these fields: id#, name, address, place of employment, GPA, college major, type of degree.
Is it possible to save a diagram (chart) as an gif image with vba? Save as web files is not an option as it generates folders and other files aswell, nor no plugins/third party. Standard vba only.
I'm trying to delete images from an excel spreadsheet. She had imported several Red "X" symbols and placed them at the bottom of the spreadsheet so that she could click and drag them to various spots on the spreadsheet when needed.
Well, now wants several of the "X" symbols to be erased...the problem is that they won't simply delete and when I click to drag them they stay in the same place and give me a duplicate to drag.
I have a excel file that I enter information into. I have code that saves the files to a certain folder with the name, date, and time stamp for the file name. At the end of the day I might have 3 to 15 excel files I have created that day and I would like to take information from certain cells (examle: L3, B6, B7, B8, G8, and so on) and create a txt file with all of the information in it.
Example: 12/20/2007 Your Name 123 Somewhere St. Here, OH 45111 Home Visit
Create an individual pie chart for each row of data (roughly 2000 rows in master list). Data to be charted contains 2 cells (Benefit and Salary). Once the chart is created I need to save the chart as an image (assuming it will need to go into Paint or another program?) Once the images are created and saved to a folder I can add the image link (file location) to a merge document data source. This way I will be able pull in the pie chart (now a picture) with a merge field during a mail merge.
Right now I have multiple sheets each with a single (different) image floating on top of the cells as all images do in excel.
What I would like to achieve is when a certain sheet is activated, the code finds the image on that sheet and then copies it to the clipboard. What would be a way to go about this?
I have done some research trying to understand how images are referenced in excel.
Basically I am making a macro function to save a copy of a chart as an image file to a specific folder. The chart is a pivot chart and so I am changing the values and saving again after running the macro again, but want the image to be saved with a new file name ie not overwriting the existing one, so ending up with a folder with chartimg1.jpg, chartimg2.jpg, etc..
Below is the code I have after playing around, I know I'm close as i did have it working. It saved the chart jpeg fine, but it just got overwritten when I ran it again to create the net jpeg.
I have a picture on my image at userform. And I want to change my picture size ( like attached picture: fast image resizer program ) and save as different location. It is my school project.
Your valuable macro codes about ıf this and attached workbooks are very important for me.
Any way to export information from an Excel spreadsheet and import it into the IPTC / EXIF files of images? (e.g. there will be an image called 12345.jpg, and in the spreadsheet there will be the number 12345.jpg and some caption, keyword etc. data to import.
I have the code below. It openes all csv files within a folder, then delete rows depending on the value of a cell. Now it needs to save the file as a xls file ....
I am trying to put together an excel workbook that our customer service can fill in a spreadsheet and then convert all the data to XML and put into a folder. The issue comes in that we can have up to 12 parts included in the item field. The XML maps this as a vertical drop down as opposed to a horizontal spreadsheet.
XML won't paste with code.
I have a macro put together, that works, but saves them as text files. Is there a way to convert my macro to save as XML or is there another way to do this?
Macro: Sub Macro1() ' ' Macro1 Macro '
' Dim n As Integer Dim r As Integer Dim Fname As String
I am using SAP to export files to a spreadsheet for Excel 2004. Whenever I do this, there would be a problem with numbers.
For eg, there is reference ids available like 02651977 and when the files is opened from excel, these reference Id's will lose its 0. And it becomes and ID of 2651977.
I need help from here if any and fast.. Or else I will have to use concantations for batch of files for my whole life with 372648235417612536712 columns of data.
I am trying to create CSV files from Excel spreadsheet for each tab. But when I convert these CSV files, text in cell is limiting to 255 characters, in otherwords it is getting truncated after 255characters. I am using Excel 2003 version.
And also when convereted these windows CSV files to UNIX csv files using the command "DOS2UNIX", some charaters becoming special characters. For exmaple, I have the actual text as "If AEENDTC ne '' then do; " and is becoming "If AEENDTC ne æÆ then do; " Do you have any idea why it is doing this.
I want the user to save the spreadsheet before he/she logs off, and I think this needs to be a 'force save' rather than an option, just in case the user accidentally clicks on 'do not save'. Also, it would be really usefull to either prompt to save, or automatically save at intervals of maybe 30 mins or so.....
I have files stored at C:KLQ1. Some with .xls and some with .xlsm. Now I want to same all the files under C:KLQ2 with .xlsm extension. Then replace all the 2005 with 2006 in the saved-as file. Then close all the files in Q1 without saving and all the files in Q2 with saving. The following code is modified from somewhere but does not work.
Code:
Sub OpenCloseFile() Dim i As Integer Dim wbResults As Workbook Dim ws As Worksheet
I have about 7000 Excel files that I need condensed to one file. The data shown that I need in example one. In this example the data needed is in column B20 then B3-B19. My problem is the data in B20 is sometimes above or below.
In the other attached file(ExampleOutput) is how I am trying to get the data outputted.
Do you think that a macro/script con go thru all 7000 files automatically in a row to do this?
The Excel files all start with Availability. After Availability is the date the file was created, followed by .xlsx So example, Availability041012.xlsx
The file has multiple worksheets, but work sheet names are the same in each file. I need data from the "Car Summary By Product Line"
The data from each sheet that I would like to get from each sheet starts in A4 through I4. There are forumlas in several of the cells so would need to be a Paste Special Values type copy.
So code/macro would do this:
Copy row A4:I4 from File Availability041012.xlsx, Worksheet "Car Summary By Product Line" to a row in the Master file
Then repeat for the next file Availability041212.xlsx (this data isn't typically generated on weekends so won't be a consistent date + 1) copied to the next row down on the Master file. This would allow me to chart data for car counts from day to day. It would be really cool to have the file date in Column J so I could chart by date and show a trend, but I know beggers can't be choosers.
I have roughly 200 days with multipule product lines so copying and pasting each one wouldn't be feesible.
How do I create VBA macro to create CSV files out of Excel spread sheet for each tab? Right now I am manually opening the spreadsheet and saving each tab as CSV file. But it is taking lot of time if we have lot of tabs.
How do I save an excel sheet as a fillable form with only certain cells allowable to be filled and than after the form is filled and the automatic calculations(formulas) are done can I save each form seperately.
This is like a student report card.
You will enter students name and his grades and the form will do calculations than i want to save each completed form as its own file
I have a spreadsheet in which I do calculations, I need to do them many times and want to record on another spreadsheet the results of two cells. I would like to show the results as a string of values.
Company Name | Model # | Comments | ABC | 1234 | Good | DFG | 3245 | Bad | IUR | 8950 | Moderate | ABC | 2435 | Bad | IUR | 2432 | Moderate | . (could be >100 entries under 20 companies)
We need to group the above data by company, copy it into a new file, and send it to respective company...
Any macro can serve this purpose? Save .xls to a location named by company name will be perfect as we'll send the files by mail merge to email with attachment.
In addition, the headers need to be included in the new files too...
I have a large number of webpages represented by live hyperlinks in a worksheet. I need to save the webpages either as html or prefereably as text files. My current option is to save the worksheet as a html file, open the saved html file in Opera and manually right click and save these webpages to the download folder. This will save the webpage without opening it in a new window or tab.
I would like to write a macro that automatically moves vertically from cell to cell and saves the webpage without opening a browser and requires no user interaction.
I need to know the commands to have the macro read the hyperlink in the cell, got to the website and save it to a location on the local hard drive using a differently numbered filename (file1.txt, file2.txt etc)
There is no problem if a webbrowser needs to open and close as long it is done automatically and controlled by the excel macro.

I use a macro that saves my activesheets in text(tab delimited).
I am trying to find how to save my worksheets as tab delimited files without having to open the notepad later, in order to press the backspace button. Just to clarify more, if a sheet has 15 rows of data, the tab delimited file will be created with 16. Is there a way to save the actual number of rows in the text file or this is a default operation in excel that cannot be changed in any way?
