I have a table with 17 rows that I want to rank in Column L by looking at the values in Column K. How do I do it so that zero values are not factored in. Also, there will ties in value, so how do I account for that?
View 9 RepliesWhat I am trying to do is give the rank in column D based on the values in columns B and C. Some of the values in column B will have then same rank, and as such I want to add further criteria on which to rank them. I would first like to rank the values in column B and then rank the values in column C, which should give the rank in column D. For example Dog and Frog have the same value of 400 from the Non UK column. Therefore, rather than having these as both rank 1, I want them to be ranks 1 and 2, so want to add another criteria (UK). As Dog is greater than Frog in the UK (i.e. 10>7), I would like to rank Dog as 1 and Frog as 2. Goat will be ranked as 3 because it had the thrid highest value in the Non UK.

I want to compare A1 for the values in column B, then return the corresponding cell (column C) in column D.
e.g. D1 = 2, D2 = 1, D3 = 4, D4 = 5 and D5 = 3.
In Range A9:A32 there is a list of names, In range B9:B32 there are values.
I don't want to rank all values just the one I chose. So I need a formula that I can enter in a cell and get the rank of one selected value from column A
For column "B" count all the 1's if column header is equal to name in column A.
For Column "C" needs to be checked if a value was filled in column "I" if yes then check if in column "L" has a value, count all these values.
Let's say this is my data. It's already been sorted so that like entries are all grouped together.

Essentially, my data is many columns and sorted on a bunch of different levels. I need a quick way to assign a rank to every row in the same group, to see at a glance which performed the best.
I have 3 columns, A B C: Distribution Center, Sales, and Top Ranked. What I am trying to get is a Rank function in the Top Ranked column that looks for the highest value in the Sales column, but returns the Distribution Center associated with this Sales value instead of the actual value. I could get this done with some helper columns and a VLOOKUP, but the report is rather large and the VLOOKUP not only slows it down but also pushes the file size over the limit. Also, I will be using this for metrics other than Sales where I'll be looking for the highest and lowest figures, so if a Max or Min function works better, that would be fine. I just haven't been able to figure out how to have it return the associated data instead of the ranked data.

Each one of these rows represents an entry into a ticket in our incident management system. Col4 represents the method by which the incident was reported to us (Email, Voicemail, Walk In, Ask IT). A ticket can be open and closed with a single entry if the issue is easily solved or it can have many entries if the issue is complex and requires more troubleshooting or escalation to a higher tier of support. I need to determine the number of unique tickets submitted by each reporting avenue (Email, Voicemail, Walk In, Ask IT).

I'm trying to write a simple VBA code to loop through values in the range A14:A138 and based on the value (of a possible four values) in any row of that range, populate the adjacent column in the same row with a conditional result. For example if A14 = "Cat", then B14 = "I"; if instead A14 = "Dog", B14 = "II", etc. If there is no value in column A, the result should be blank (i.e. "").

I have a code that inserts a new column after every 7th column. I want to include a formula where every 7th column value is subtracted from the values present in the column before the 1st, or you can think of it as subtracting 7th column of the present group from the 7th column of the previous group. Example: The range of my data starts from col F, then

Autofill column B with sequential values based on whether value in column A changes its value.
I would like to autofill column 'B' with sequential values (i.e. GenoMap1, Genomap2, Genomap3,... GenoMap10, GenoMap11, GenoMap12,... GenoMap104, GenoMap105, etc...), but changing to the sequential GenoMap# only when the value in column A changes.
This is what I imagine.

If they have two similar item number with 2 different reasons - delete the duplicate item number and place the number in each column according to its reason as seen on row 16 on the sheet3
If they have two number with similar reason - just sum up the number

I have a worksheet (Sheet1) that is constantly growing with information. I have several categories under the "Category" column and then the various amounts under "Amount" column. I would like to have Sheet2 be able to keep a running total of the "Amount" column for each category as it increases in entries. I've attached an example sheet.

I have values in COlumn A, probably about 50K rows, The total unique values on the column A is only about 27. I need to capture all those unique values and paste them in column B. I didn't want to do "Advance filtering" since the workbook has many macros's on it that the user simply click on. Im thingking of creating a loop and compare values already pasted in Column b but then that will take too much time to complete the loop. Is there any easier or yet more efficient way to accomplish this?.

In my example, result = 3 Now, I would need to add the possibility to count only for B=1; in my example, result should be = 2.

I am trying to sum certain values in one column based on the values of another column. I made a few tables, generated some random numbers, and then I started writing up an if-then statement to see if I could get what I am trying to do to work. However, I was having difficulty getting the program to run, because I was declaring more than one variable (I think).
So for instance, I want cells in column G to sum forces in column C when a joint in column E matches a joint in column A. Similarly, I am trying to do the same thing for columns F and B.
I have attached a picture, which shows what I would like for the program to do automatically (rather than me doing it all manually)! I didn't include the code I wrote, because it was so minimal
