Jun 3, 2014I have to create ranges of unique numbers that follows the below rules.
1) Have to start with 3 standard digits (ie 101 or 102 etc)
2) The total length of the is has to be 10 digits (ie 1010123456)
3) The second part (the last 7 numbers) must be unique!
4) Can create a lot of numbers (more that 5000 rows)
5) thats all with the unique numbers

Move Ranges To Corresponding Ranges Based On Column Having Data
Oct 25, 2007I need help creating a macro that will search through my excel spreadsheet and for every instance where column A isn't empty it should cut a range of columns from that row and paste them in a different range of columns in the row before it. It should then delete the row that it cut the columns from and keep searching until it has done this for the whole worksheet. I can modify which range of columns are needed, but it has been so long since I've worked with excel macros that I haven't been able to do it.

I have two rows of data that contains dates in the mmm-yy format. The first row is the start date of the activity and the second row is the end date of the activity. Thus, in each column i would have an activity with its start and end dates. If i want to total the number of months taking into consideration only unique months (counting over-lapping months just once), how do i do that? These dates could have breaks in between, too. Like if an activity ended Jul-08, the next could begin Dec-08.
I am able to count the months using the datedif function, is there a match or other function that i need to use?
Create Unique Lists From Multiple Ranges
Mar 12, 2008I have values in Worksheet 1, spread over A1:D25 and A200: D250.
In worksheet2 I have values again from A1:D25 and A200:D250.
Is is possible to only get the unique values of those 4 ranges with the advanced filter? They all need to be shown in eg worksheet 3 starting in A1, (so kinda merged in a sense)?
Is that a thing more for a UDF, or is there a excel function/option that does exactly that?
I have been looking for ages for that kind of function/option, since I thought it must be possible. But this sure does not look to be a standard functionality, or is it?
Is there a (free) add-in that might do this kind of thing?

It kinda does what I needed, but it lists the actual data in the same spot it used to be. I want to be able to list the sorting in a different column on a different sheet and in 1 column only. Is this difficult to modify so it becomes a UDF or is this something totally different?

Mar 7, 2008I have two different Excel reports and the data needs to be copied from each column on one spreadsheet and pasted to the bottom of the equivalent column on the other spreadsheet.
So, is it possible to get a macro that will copy the data from one column then paste it to the next free cell in the column on the other spreadsheet.

Aug 28, 2009I have values in COlumn A, probably about 50K rows, The total unique values on the column A is only about 27. I need to capture all those unique values and paste them in column B. I didn't want to do "Advance filtering" since the workbook has many macros's on it that the user simply click on. Im thingking of creating a loop and compare values already pasted in Column b but then that will take too much time to complete the loop. Is there any easier or yet more efficient way to accomplish this?.

however this is giving all the unique items from column G and I only want the unique items that have a non-zero value in column H as well. This would be the sumif of all instances that would have to be zero. I've tried to crack it and I've tried to search for solutions but so far no joy.

Sep 22, 2006I have a worksheet called 'DR manager and deceased' which is part of a larger workbook. It contains around 20000 entries. There should be at least 2 rows for each entry, identified by the customer erefrence in column H, however a casting a quick eye down the data shows me that there are several entries where there is only one row for a specific customer reference and I need to identify these. I need a macro that will remove the entire row from this worksheet and copy it to the 'unique' worksheet if the value in column H for that row is unique, ie only found once in the whole of column H.

Multiple Dynamic Name Ranges In Same Column
Apr 24, 2007I have a huge database. The rows are broken up by the groups. The columns are broken up by months, quarters, and totals. All the named ranges are the same exact size because all groups have the same category names and all columns have the same amount of months and quarter columns. So it sort of looks like this

Hopefully this gives you a good idea of what the spredsheet format is. Right now I have named ranges for all the groups and years. So the top left name is A06_100, then it goes A06_101, etc. What I'm trying to do is set this up as easy as possible to insert rows in the named ranges and keep the named range, because they are referenced a lot in other worksheets. Also if any columns get added. Basically I want it as user friendly as possible so when people change things it stays together.
