SUMPRODUCT Criteria - Do Not Include Value From Separate Column
Apr 11, 2014
I have a criteria issue with a sumproduct formula i'm using. The criteria is essentially supposed to say "if the value in column I (in Sheet2) equals ANY value in column O (in Sheet1), then do not include that line in the SUM. Here is the complete formula:
I'm looking at the formula in Sheet3, cell F5. You'll see that the criteria "--(Sheet2!I:I<>Sheet1!O:O)" does not seem to be working. I need the formula to not include any values from Sheet2!E:E, where the corresponding value in column I does not equal any value in Sheet1!O:O. Also, these values can change by user so its not as simple as just typing them in to the formula as an array...
That VBA part of this is that it's in a macro, so if there is any way to make this easier using code instead of a simple formula.
I have no problems figuring out SUMIF or SUMPRODUCT with multiple criteria, but I'm trying to help someone with an issue that the second criteria is actually not all-inclusive.
Column B - Lots of numbers, the SUM range Column C - Yes and No flags. Y or N
C1 = maximum number of matching items to include.
So, =SUMPRODUCT((C2:C100="Y")*(B2:B100)) sums up ALL the Yes rows, but the guy wants to restrict it to the last X matches, and put that X factor in C1. So if C1=5, only the last 5 Y matches are included.
I'm using Excel 2007 and have an Employee Scheduling Program that keeps track of 10 employees on a monthly basis (1 worksheet per month). The days of each month are in columns (I thru AM) and my 10 employees are in Rows 6 thru 15, which creates a grid of cells. I use Conditional Formatting to highlight the Weekends, Todays Date, and Holidays. My Sumproduct formula (shown below) is in each of the cells of my grid and places a number (1 to 10 for each employee) from start date to the end date. My Current formula works great as it finds every occurrence of the argument but I need to modify it to include the contents of the Helper Column.
In the following formula I'm looking for MONTH 1 (January) and WEEKDAY 1 (Sunday): =SUMPRODUCT(--(MONTH(Sheet1!$A$2:$A$6936)=1),--(WEEKDAY(Sheet1!$A$2:$A$6936)=1),--(Sheet1!$D$2:$D$6936=$D2),Sheet1!E$2:E$6936)
is it possible to find MONTH 1 and 2 (Janauary and February) and use the rest of the formula as is? Can the same thing be done looking for MONTHs 3,4,5 or months 8,9,10,and 11?
=SUMPRODUCT(--(GLCodes=$B7),MasterNetAmt_01) I want to dis-include the CC="06" in the summation. I tried using: =SUMPRODUCT(--(GLCodes=$B7),(cc="06"),MasterNetAmt_01)
I have the following sumproduct formula that's providing solid results but I would like to add a 3rd column of criteria. I'v tired with little succes.
The following formula <=SUMPRODUCT(('IW 38 DUMP for Planning'!$A$1:$A$10000="2A")*('IW 38 DUMP for Planning'!$E1:$E10000={"PAA","RS","RSNR","S","SAM","SAMT","SAO","SAT","SOR","WKS"}))> totals all of the work in plant area "2A", in this case 52 records. I would like it to filter further with values in $H1:$H1000 matching criteria "CONTRACT", "MACH" OR "HTSMET".
The data is easy to find with pivot tables but I would like to take that manual step out of the reporting being doen from these records.
I have two sets of criteria I want to incorporate into one formula. In the first column, if the criteria is matched, it will check the criteria in the next column. The criteria in the second column is something that resembles the 'or' function. So if criteria equals x,y, or z, sum the results from the data range c3:c98. I tried writing it like this.
I am attempting to create a workbook that will keep an inventory of items in a catalog that I own and want to order (worksheet1). Ultimately an order form would be filled in(on worksheet2). I would like to have the entire row of data copied (from worksheet1)to the next open/empty row on the order form (worksheet2), if any cell in column C (worksheet1) has data.
I have attached the workbook : Catalog Orders.xlsx
Having a hard time putting this one together..Trying to do: Create a formula that counts how many cells in Column L, that fall within a date range and also have a specific category of "text" (Column E). What I've tried:=COUNTIF($L$4:$L$166,"
Is there a way to filter column A but ensure it includes multiple lines of data in a different column.
I have attached an example of what I am looking for:
I need to filter by community but keep all the information listed in columns, B, C, & D. So when I filter to Thunder Bay I would still see the 5 members listed in column D.
I realize the easy solution is to fill all the empty cells in column A to pick up the data in the other columns, but I do not want to Fill all the empty cells to include the name "Thunder Bay" (not the look I want for this spreadsheet).
I need the values that are copied from the template to copy over in text form from the "Data" Tab. Secondly, the master sheet has multiple lines for each vendor. For the area highlighted in red I'd like for it to copy all cells in column C for the vendor and search the vendor by name. Then, move to the next sheet.
I have 10 very large workbooks that are all setup in the same format. In column Z is a numerical value from 1 to 83. I have been trying to filter the sheet and then copy one at a time from 1 to 83 but that takes a LONG time especially when there is 10 workbooks to do.
Is there anyway I can run a function or macro or something that would just automatically look down the column Z and put each row into a it's own workbooks?
I have attached a sample of what the workbooks look like right now.
I have a set of data (assume 2 columns, one with a long name and the second with a time). The names contain variables that must be used as criteria (a single entry may contain "Blue" and "On"/"Off") and times vary, based on when the Name turns "On" or "Off" [in minutes: 25 (On), 47 (Off), 89 (On), 100 (Off) and 137 (On)]. I need to create another table that automatically inserts values for all times, to include the missing times (0 min thru 24 and 26 thru 46, etc.). EX: If the first entry is "Blue-On" at "25 minutes", the cells from 0 minutes to 24 minutes are each "0" and become a "1" at 25 minutes - the following cells are "1" until 47 minutes (where it is turned off). (1 and 0 represent "On" and "Off", respectively)
How can I created a formula to insert the correct numbers into the correct places? I'm willing to have multiple cells with formulas and simply hide the columns that are doing the calculations.
I believe that the best way to evaluate this request is to look at the example. I have 2 buttons to demonstrate what I need, along with written instructions.
I want to sum number values in a column. I have used "=SUM(C4:C100)" and it works a treat. Now the twist. I have an adjacent column (Column D) and only want to add values in Column C, where a corresponding value is in Column D on the same row.
So for example if I have C5 as $1000 and D5 as 13/5/13, I want to include the $1000 value in the sum of Column C. However, if I have C5 as $1000 and D5 as blank, I don't want to include it in the sum.
I m trying to use arrays in the wrong way. I simply want to create an array from values in a column and perform calculations on each element and store the results for each element. I therefor need a 2d array. I also dont know the number of values in the column and therefor dont know the number of elements that will be in the array. How would I declare this array. Ive tried Dim MyArr(1 To ActiveSheet.UsedRange.Rows.Count, 1 To 2), but that returns an error - 'Constant expression required'.
I have a file with a bunch of columns in it. Columns C and D have names in them. I want to filter on these two columns where the results show all rows where the selected name is in both.
Example, If I filter on Column C first on 2 specific names (Joe and Chris), it will not show the results in column D if that name was aligned with a different name in column C (Mark and Steve). I need all rows to come back.
Column C Column D Joe Joe Chris Chris Joe Chris Joe Mark Joe Steve Chris
I should be able to do this by now but I keep getting an #NA error. I am trying to use this sumproduct formula =SUMPRODUCT(($I$7:$I$2585=921),--($L$7:$L$2585="Fb")--(AS7:AS2585)) where I am looking up store #"921" and Attribute "fb and sum where these two criteria meet. The column I want to sum is AS7:As285. What am I doing wrong.
In Column A1:A20, these are included 5 types of data (red, orange, yellow, green, blue); in column B1:B20, these are included the total salary amount, and in column C1:C:20, these are included "Sole" , "Joint" or "Partnership", so if column A is included red/yellow/green (excluding orange and blue) and column C is included Sole/joint/Partenship, and total salary is between 6000 and 9000, then calculate the total salary of all the customers. How can I use sumproduct function to fix it?
I am trying to match 3 values, and return a matching 4th from a chart. It will first look at one value and see if it falls between values (the LOAD value in cell B1..it will look to see if it falls between the "low limit" and "high limit" in columns A10 to A135 and C10 to C135, respectively. Then it will look for a match for the values in cell A2, and in cell A3. the return value will index to the corresponding value in column G10 to G135. I have written a formula to do this in cell D2....but it will only ever return the value in cell G10.
I am looking around any way wherein I can sumproduct the values as given in attached sheet, basically I wanted to know the total MRP value of Sale and Stock
I'm working on a spreadsheet at work and I'm trying to sum only the values in a column that meet criteria in the column next to it. For example, in the attached spreadsheet, I would like to have a totals line at the bottom of the spreadsheet for all three Facilities and the total next to them. I know I could do a pivot table but I know this approach would be more aesthetic and easier for my supervisor.
I am stuck - I have a large amount of data for a group of physicians I work for. I am trying to set up a monthly trend report to be able to run quickly after I plug in the data. I want to use some sort of lookup to look up two things - 1) the physician's specialty and 2) the month.
Can anyone look at the attached example and tell me how to do this? I have started a SUMPRODUCT formula, but am stuck on how to tell it to find only that month's data.
I was wondering if I could use a range of cells as my criteria as opposed to inserting quotation marks with each criteria. For example in the syntax below can I do something like this? Report!$C$3:$C$5000=B45:B51?
