Referencing Entire Row On Separate Worksheet If Criteria Met In Specified Column
Sep 22, 2013
I am attempting to create a workbook that will keep an inventory of items in a catalog that I own and want to order (worksheet1). Ultimately an order form would be filled in(on worksheet2). I would like to have the entire row of data copied (from worksheet1)to the next open/empty row on the order form (worksheet2), if any cell in column C (worksheet1) has data.
I have attached the workbook : Catalog Orders.xlsx
I have 10 tabs in a workbook, the first five tab is for 5 Departments for the Month of March, the other 5 is for the same 5 departments for the Month of April.
I want to compare a particular field for each Department for the two months. The field is in column N.
Is there a code that will copy column N for Finance March, Column N for April and paste them into another worksheet in the same workbook in Column A and B, then go to the next department HR and copy Column N for HR March and April and paste in the same worksheet where Finance already as in column D and E, then go to Operations March and April tabs and paste into the same worksheet as column Worksheet G and H.
Basically the copied columns are pasted March April next to each other for all the businesses in the new .
I am attempting to place a formula in cell b3 in the attached spreadsheet on the "sheet to pull data into" tab 1 (cell is highlighted yellow) to retrieve value in the yellow highlighted cell in the "Sheet that contains data" which is on a seperate worksheet within the same workbook.
The cells highlighted red in the "sheet to pull into" tab (cells: a1, a3, b1, and b3) are the criteria that needs to be matched to those cells on "sheet that contains data" tab in order to ensure the value returned is correct.Sample of problem.xlsx <----see the attached sample spreadsheet.
I have a rolling 12 month (each day in column) tab in Excel 2010 that references variances by ID number in column A, and the column headers are each day for 366 days (2011). I would like to create a tab that shows the past 10 day's variances by ID number. I haven't been able to write a formula that will look at the date headers and the row ID number to return the figure for that day. Here is a sample of the 12 month rolling and the 10 days at a glance that I want to populate.
Rolling 12 Months IDName12/25/201212/26/201212/27/201212/28/201212/29/2012and so on 1234Employee Name - - - - (11.07) 1235Employee Name - - - 0.20 - 1236Employee Name - - - - - 1237Employee Name - - - - (1.00)
I have a criteria issue with a sumproduct formula i'm using. The criteria is essentially supposed to say "if the value in column I (in Sheet2) equals ANY value in column O (in Sheet1), then do not include that line in the SUM. Here is the complete formula:
I need create a macro to perform the following - I don't know if it needs to be an Excel macro or via VB. This is to speed a process up and eliminate any spreadsheet messing around for our "admin" staff - they are not good with excel at all!
So, I have a daily/weekly down load of a spreadsheet (exported from access).
* I want to copy the values of column AK to A * Then delete all entries in column D that equal 19, 20 and 6 * Then delete all entries in column AL that equal "A","B","C" or "D" but not "E","F" or "G" * Then delete entire rows where the value in column A is a duplicate within the list
I will call this spreadsheet, for the purpose of this exercise, the "Master". I now have another spreadsheet with values in that should relate to values in either (or both) columns A and B in the "Master". I need Spreadsheet 2 values to be highlighted as cross checked in the "Master" and then all those in the "Master" that do not appear in the 2nd S/S will be normal white cells thus showing that they need to be chased by our Admin staff.
Is there a formula/function in excel that can take all the cells in a column, lets say Column A, and paste/display it in another file without the spaces between the cells with values and without duplicates?
Worksheet1 Column A
1 Name 2 3 Mike 4 Rob 5 Ryan 6 7 Mindy 8 Paul 9 10 Rob 11 12 Mindy 13 Chris
Worksheet2 Column A
1 Name 2 Mike 3 Rob 4 Ryan 5 Mindy 6 Paul 7 Chris 8 9 10 11 12 13
My macro's function is to paste the workdays of an entire month in a specific row of a worksheet. Everything seems to work except using a number to reference the column in which to store the values. I've searched the web for over an hour and found two "solutions":
1. write a function to convert column number to a letter 2. utilize Cells object
#2 seemed more efficient but the function is giving me the error: "Runtime Error: '1004': Method of 'Range' of object "_Worksheet' Failed"
I have an Excel database of department contracts with a Master worksheet. I have created a worksheet tab for each of the departments. Column G has a dropdown list for each department. When I enter a new contract onto the Master I want it to auto copy to the coordinating worksheet based on the selected department.
If possible I would also like it to enter the newest contract would enter into the coordinating Contract Party entered into column D. (ie... If Hospital A is entered in column D on master, the new entry on the worksheet being copied to will be entered under the last Hospital A, if Hospital B is entered on Master it copies under Hospital B). If this isn't possible then I am not too worried about that part.
I have attached a blank version of the file. Current Master 5-15-14.xlsx
I'm working with several sheets, each containing databases of customers that bought different products. I'm trying to do a cross reference so I know which customers has already bought multiple products.
English is not my first language and I might not be able to clearly express what my problem is, so I included a worksheet example.
In the example, you can see that Lea bought an apartment coded with APRT-001 from the first sheet. Lea also bought a condo coded with COND-002. What I'm trying to do is to put a note beside the her entry in the apartment that she has bought COND-002. And vice versa on the COND-002 entry on the second sheet.
What I usually do is combine all the data in one sheet, use Conditional Formatting to point out the duplicate name entries, and work through the whole thing manually. The thing is, there are thousands of names and I need to update the list regularly
I have a quoting application for damaged vehicles, this application is able to export all quotes and information relating to quotes into an excel sheet. the export file arranges the jobs in rows with each value in a separate cell i.e.
Job #|| Name || number || Parts $ || Total $ 1453 || Mike K || 1234567 || 123.00 || 222.00 1533 || John C || 4353456 || 234.00 || 2342.00
Each job is listed on a separate row as it exports the records from an access database. once the information is exported I need to open another workbook and type in a job number into a cell and have excel automatically reference the relevant job and information relating to that job (all info in the same row) and fill in all the details from the other workbook into the new workbook. Example: the exported file contains 200 jobs, of those 200 i require 20 to view for one week. I have the job numbers of the jobs which I need to get information for. i open up another workbook and type in the 20 job numbers in separate rows and excel fills in the rest by referencing the other worksheet.
coding a VBA macro for one of my workbooks, in which I need to be able to hide/unhide various rows in one worksheet depending on the value of a cell in a worksheet elsewhere in the workbook. The rows start off hidden by default.
As a simplified example:
Worksheet1 has a cell that has option "Set 1," and "Set 2." Worksheet2 has two sets of rows (say, 20:30 and 40:50) that need to be hidden/unhidden depending on the cell in Worksheet 1. These are hidden to start with!
So if Worksheet1's target cell says "Set 1", then on Worksheet2, rows 20:30 would stay hidden and rows 40:50 would be revealed, and then if the target cell says "Set 2," then on Worksheet 2, rows 40:50 would then be hidden, but rows 20:30 would then be revealed.
I was thinking of using something like this:
Rows("20:30,40:50").EntireRow.Hidden = True If Target.Address="'Worksheet1'!A1" Then If Target.Value = "Set 1" Then Rows("40:50").EntireRow.Hidden = False Else Rows("20:30").EntireRow.Hidden = False End If End If
I think this might work, but every time I try to run this I get various errors, like not referencing my target cell correctly.
I have 10 very large workbooks that are all setup in the same format. In column Z is a numerical value from 1 to 83. I have been trying to filter the sheet and then copy one at a time from 1 to 83 but that takes a LONG time especially when there is 10 workbooks to do.
Is there anyway I can run a function or macro or something that would just automatically look down the column Z and put each row into a it's own workbooks?
I have attached a sample of what the workbooks look like right now.
I have excel sheet with 4 worksheets tabs(Master, Won, Lost, No Bid). All data entered on Master. I want each row to automatically link/appear on 2nd, 3rd or 4th worksheet tab based on info in column Q (Result) which would be either 'Pending' - in which case it would stay on Master, 'Won' - would stay and copy to Won worksheet, 'Lost' - would stay andcopy to Lost worksheet, 'No Bid' - would stay and copy to No Bid worksheet. All rows would always show up on Master worksheet.
I have my students down the far left column (30 rows) and along the top for each worksheet is the criteria which they must be able to do. If my in row 2 completes the criteria text above in column 5 for example, then I input a 3 which then adds the points and works out their sub level scores. However I am now in need of it being able copy the criteria above if a student on any row has a T(for target) in that box. I would then like that criteria to be copied to a master sheet which displays their name down the side and all the targets they have for that subject in the next column, so that they can be referenced for their report summary worksheet.
Each Worksheet has a unique identifying label - "Requirement Number"
Within each worksheet is free form text data of the following categories:
Requirement: 10358 Title: Customer requirement 1 Text: This describes the requirements for a product for the customer[code].....
The text of the categories may begin in column A or B
What I need is a macro that will search each worksheet for a category, e.g., "Configuration:", copy the row where the keyword "Configuration" is found, and then have that row transposed and pasted to another WorkSheet (e.g., "Extracted Data") cell.
Data extracted from the next Worksheet would begin a new row in "Extracted Data"
Example: Requirement1 Title Text Verification Method-Level ... Requirement2 Title Text Verification Method-Level ... Requirement3 Title Text Verification Method-Level ...
The Requirement# is best extracted from the WorkSheet tab since some of the worksheets are missing this information. I can provide an example spreadsheet, however, I was not able to figure out how do that in this post.
I found a thread similar to this problem:
find and copy row
However, it only finds, copies and pastes for one keyword.
I need to reference the projected and actual expenses from the total on worksheet 'expenses' So i did so, however, if I change the drop down on the expenses worksheet to only display housing data, then the projected and actual expenses on my budget worksheet changes as well to the new data portrayed on the expenses worksheet.
I need to reference the cell, without it changing when I change the category display, but I need the cell to change accordingly if I enter new data in the overall tablet on the expenses worksheet.
Or do I need to create a seperate worksheet that has the data in and reference my cells on my budget worksheet to that new worksheet?
I have one sheet which summarises the status of documents in another sheet. I'm using INDEX and MATCH to return the correct Document title and info. But I need to offset/countif/INDEX MATCH again or something to get to reference the latest revision status of the document.
way to reference the name of a worksheet in a cell, or even better, use a cell reference to dictate the name of a worksheet.
In other words, I would like to create a new sheet, and set it's name ='Sheet1'!C1 so that if I changed C1, the worksheet would automatically be renamed to whatever is typed in C1.
If that is not possible, I would like to have a cell be tied to the name of a given worksheet, so that if I renamed the worksheet, the cell would change accordingly...similar to the &[Tab] function used in headers/footers.
I have an XLS spreadsheet which updates cells through an ODBC connection to a database. The information is pulled across ok and 90% of the Vlookup and IF statements work. The problem arises on a summary page.
When i start off the summary page has cell references in numeric order to another spreadsheet and pulls back the information to 4 cells Across and 1000 Down. ='Campaign Responses - Cash Break'!A2
This is a spreadsheet that changes once the queries have run and a number between 1-1000 records are returned. However once the data has changed and the page refreshed. Not all the results have been pulled across to the summary pages. A few are there but the numeric sequence jumps from......
I have a workbook with many sheets of similar but not identical data. I need to extract columns from each sheet based on 5 header criteria and paste them to a single sheet. Each worksheet contains these 5 criteria.
I've been working with the VBA script I've pasted below. It's grabbing the 5 column criteria that I have in sheet 12, and comparing them to sheet 1 in the workbook, then copying them to sheet 12. This much is good, but I need the script to also return the data from the other worksheets as well. I've tried modifying the script based on other loop functions in other scripts I've found, but I'm not having any luck.
