Search Workbook For Cells That Meet Multiple Criteria And Return Results From Rows

Jun 28, 2013

I would like to perform a search on only the worksheets listed in a worksheet titled table of contents. I would like to use multiple criteria for this search and send only the unique results to a worksheet titled results. Each worksheet listed in the table of contents has a cell address for each heading that I would like to extract data from the same column. The attached workbook example shows the data that I would like to collect when I search for cells that begin with "AB" and cells that begin with "CD". I collected this data by copy and pasting all the data from each worksheet into the results page and then applying filters and advanced filter to remove duplicates. This method does not work well for the original workbook as the data is quite extensive.

Copy Rows From All Worksheets In Workbook That Meet 2 Criteria

Jun 28, 2014

I have a workbook with many (25) worksheets which all have the same structure, column headings, etc. but vary as to the number of rows. I would like to search all worksheets in workbook and copy to worksheet "120" only those rows where column C is "120" and column E is "1-00053-".

Ideally, input boxes would be used to enter these criteria so that it can be used for different scenarios in which these values will vary.

Delete Rows Where Multiple Columns Meet Criteria

Apr 4, 2008

I am looking for an Excel VBA code that can delete pair of rows that has certain criteria. I have included an example in the attachment and highlighted the rows that should be deleted. Since the values in each coloumn is going to change every day , I am looking for a dynamic code.

The objective is to:

To delete rows that has same code (columnd D), same basis (coloumn E), same Effective (coloumn H), value of TT (Column J) is either TI or TO and has offsetting Amounts (L) ie the sume becomes zero. Example pair of row 7 and row 8 as well as pair of row 12 and row 13 should be deleted.

TO and TI are actually transfer in and transfer out. Since the TI and TO for these rows make the amount zero for same code and same basis on the same effective date, I do not want to include this in the spreadsheet.

Return Multiple Results Based On Criteria

Dec 1, 2006

Please see the attached sheets.

Here's the issue:

On sheet "master" I have a list of goals in column A.

Each has been assigned to at least one person. Each person will have their own sheet that will capture the goals assigned to them. As an example, see Al's sheet.

I am trying to get Excel to look for all of the goals assigned to AL on the Master sheet and list them nicely onto AL's sheet without out blank rows. (and for each, respectively on their own sheet). I could do this with Pivot Tables if the data were displayed differently, but I have been told that I have to display the goal assignments as shown.

I could use "x"s instead of their names to mark the assignment and I could combine the "goal-achieved expectations" and "goal #s" columns if it helps. I am not supposed to use filters either.

Note: Of course, a goal or an assignment could change on the master sheet, but the assignment is more likely to change.

how this done for AL, I can go ahead and create the other sheets.

How To Return All Corresponding Values That Meet 2 Criteria In Excel

Feb 14, 2014

I have a table that I would like to search to return all the values that meet 2 criteria entered by the user.

I have 3 columns - Role Name, Skill, and Skill Level - I'd like to be able to enter the skill and skill level and return all the roles that meet the two entered criteria.

At the moment I have an array, but it only returns the first value from the Role Name column that it finds.

=INDEX(A2:A100,MATCH(1,IF(C2:C100=G4,IF(E2:E100=H4,1))),0)

Where the A column is the role name, C is the Skill, and E is the Skill level. In cell G4 the user enters the skill to be search, and in H4 the level required for the skill (a scale of 1-4)

Is it possible for the formula to return all the values in column A that meet the criteria entered in G4 and H4?

Return Multiple Values That Match Single Search Criteria?

Nov 28, 2012

Attached is a sample workbook, but essentially what I'm looking to do is automate the process of searching through a data set where the value of interest (in this case, names) often has multiple entries, with different values attached to each instance.

I would like to be able to get a list of all values in a given column that match a specific name in another column.

Currently I'm using a basic INDEX/MATCH search just to see whether the data exists at all, but that's only half of what I have to do here, and I'm totally stumped on how to get a comprehensive list of all matches.

For reference, if you look at the sample, what I need is a list of all values in the "CPT" column that match the name searched for in the first column.

The actual data set size is at most 3-400 entries, if that makes a difference in how to approach this.

Search Multiple Criteria If Match Append Multiple Cells To One Cell?

Apr 28, 2012

I am having such a difficult time creating a macro that will reduce the 5+hours I have to spend each week manually copying & pasting all of this data. I making an IMMENSE difference in this worker bee's life!

I have a workbook with two sheets (Sheet1 & Sheet2). Sheet1 has license #'s in column A and the state that the license belongs to in column B like this:

COLUMN ACOLUMN B11111Alaska11112Alabama11113Arkansas11114Arkansas
Sheet2 has three columns. Column A has the license #'s, column B has the state that the license belongs to and Columns C shows a line-of-authority tied to that license #.

COLUMN ACOLUMN BCOLUMN
C11111AlaskaProperty11111AlaskaCasualty11112AlaskaLife11112AlaskaHealth11112
AlabamaProperty11112AlabamaCasualty11113ArkansasLife11113ArkansasHealth11114
ArkansasLife11114ArkansasHealth12345ArizonaProperty

I'm trying to write a macro that will compare the license # and state in Sheet1 to the license # and state in Sheet2. If it matches, append the contents of Column C to the corresponding row in Sheet1.

Here's the thing...Sheet2 contains the entries for all licenses in the company (so this table is HUGE). And there are multiple entries for each state license # (notice how there's two entries above for AK license # 11111 - one for the Property line and one for the Casualty line.

After my macro is run, I want Sheet1 to show all the lines-of-authority on a single line. So if I ran my macro on the above example, after it's run I would have this in Sheet1:

COLUMN ACOLUMN BCOLUMN
C11111AlaskaProperty Casualty11112AlabamaProperty Casualty11113
ArkansasLife Health11114ArkansasLife Health

Formula For Counting Occurrences That Meet Multiple Criteria?

I have a row that contains a different time (hh:mm) in each column where each column represents a different date which is display in row 3. If there is no time the cell is populated with "N/A"

I want to count how many cells for a specified Month/year are not equal to "N/A". I have been able get each selction criteria to work but when I try merging numeric and non-numeric queries I lose it.

The following formula was able to give me the count of cells "N/A"
=COUNTIF('Master Data'!$UA59:$ALZ59, ">0")

and this gave me a count by Month/Year
=SUMPRODUCT(--(YEAR('Master Data'!$UA3:$ALZ3)=2012),--(MONTH('Master Data'!$UA3:$ALZ3)=1))

When I tried creating one COUNTIF I was unable to get it without an error as I needed the YEAR/MONTH functions.

Sum Range Where Corresponding Cells Meet Criteria

Jul 3, 2009

I want to sum all cells in column A that have one of several tags in an adjacent cell in column B.

- Some of the rows in column A are not tagged

- There are currently 3 tags that are valid in column B (I, S, R), but this could increase (or reduce) in the future, say to I, S, R, E

- The possible tags are contained in a named range, but don't have to be

- It's not possible to restructure the data because the columns are in a scratch sheet, where a variety of calculations are created on the fly in the column. I've attached an example, which might make it clear

- There are several (up to 10) sheets like this in the workbook with lots of different calculations that are then summarised in to some analysis.

- The overall objective of the workbook is to be able to;

a) include/ exclude individual calcs for any one column

b) include/exclude a country - solved
