I would like to search and copy values from one Worksheet to another.
In my case, The project number and account are listed in one worksheet called 'Source'.
In the Target sheet, The Account Column should be filled according to the Project number as per the data in source sheet.
Sample sheet : Sample.xls
I tried both IF and LOOKUP and failed. I'm trying to search for values from one worksheet and identify whether or not those values exist in another worksheet. I attempted the following lookup in field A2:
=LOOKUP(B2,Sheet3!A$2:A$914,Sheet3!C$2:C$914)
B2 (thru B5000 or so) contains values I want to search for; sheet3!A$2:A914 is where I want to look and column C of that same sheet, entered the text "Yes" in an attempt to have the results list "Yes" for hits and N/A for misses. (All fields are text.) I copied the formula all the way down the sheet in column A. The result it is returning is N/A in A2 and Yes in A2 -to the bottom, which is incorrect.
I've been tackling this data capture/paste issue for a week or so. I found the string below which does provide a good foundation for my challenge. But, my basic level of understanding macros limits my modifications to meet my needs.

I have 20 worksheets in my master file corresponding to Excel files individual associates will update weekly. After the associates have updated their individual files for the week, I want to capture the data entered and paste values into a master file containing a worksheet for each associate (sharing the same name as the individual associate file). All of these files are housed on team SharePoint sites.
I need a macro to perform several steps after clicking a "Run Update" macro button in the master file:
Open individual associate fileIn master file, search for each Initiative listed in column B (starting cell B3) in the individual associate file (in column B starting at cell B11)If Initiative is found in individual associate file, copy adjacent data in columns D:J for the respective rowIn master file, paste values to the corresponding Initiative row for the corresponding week's worth of dataIf Initiative is not found in the individual associate file, move to the next Initiative listed in the master fileRepeat these steps for each individual associate file
Linking would be the easiest way to accomplish this if I wanted to have a multitude of weekly individual files for the associates. However, I'd rather each associate have one file for them to update (basically overwriting their previous week's entries).
I need to ensure the paste values corresponds to the appropriate day of the week. In simpler terms, if the date in the individual associate file in cell D9 reads Oct 1, 2012, the data captured from that row needs to be pasted to the corresponding row/column in the master file that reads the same date.
I use the Macro below to search in a datafile and copy the results into another worksheet. Only problem, when the macro finds a result he should copy and start over again, starting from the row below, but somehow he start 2 rows lower, so I'm missing results. (when he should copy row 2,3,4,5,6 - the result is only 2,4,6) I tried changing
WerkRij = WerkRij + 1 into Werkrij = WerkRij
StartRij = Rij + 1 into StartRij = StartRij
but then he keep searching and copying the same cells
I wish to compare each item (4-8 digit alphanumeric ID) in a list in column B of worksheet 1 (Portfolio) to all of the items in column B of worksheet 3 (EssBase Cap). The data (ID) in column B of 'EssBase Cap'! is concatenated with its description so my code needs to strip off the leading zeros and everything after "-" in order to do the comparison. Once a match is found it should copy the corresponding values in 'EssBase Cap'! for that row, column D and E to 'Portfolio' Column J, and K. I have created some pseudo code and need to translate this to Excel VBA

I have a multi worskheet document and i want to be able to create a macro that will search individual cells in a range on each sheet and if it locates a 3 letter mneumonic (STK in this case), it will then copy that data for the whole row and paste on an additional worksheet. I also need the data pasted on the new worksheet to be protected ie not overwritten when the macro runs again. So this mneumonic could exist anywhere in column A (A1,A500).

I have three parameters that users on my spreadsheet will be using. They will be searching using the 'Brand', 'MPAN' and 'Tariff' fields.I would like to have drop down menu's for then to select the correct search option. I then have another sheet within the same workbook with all the data in it with columns headed of Brand', 'MPAN' and 'Tariff'. It has to be an excat match using those three parameters though. I would like the parameters the user selects on the first sheet to be searched and found on the second sheet, with the figures in the cells next to the search result getting fed back into a set cells back on the first page.

I use this code to look for values like V1/V2/V3/V01 in my column. If the cell contains the value, nothing happens, if not, the whole row is deleted.

The strFind1 searches for a name within the database and then I need strFind2 to do a exact for a Subproject search and a partial search for everything containing the Subproject selected and other Subprojects. Currently, when the database entry in the worksheet includes Subproject 1 the search function works but when I have an entry that contains Subproject 1/Subproject 4 it does not find the entry. How can I expand the strFind2 to equal what is selected in the Combobox2 and find entries that have what is selected plus more text. I have set the line where I think everything is going wrong to a bold format.

I want to enter a value in a textbox, search for it in an worksheet, and populate other textboxes with adjacent values if the value is found. Anyway, the problem is that if the value is not found, I get a debug error.

Given the following data located in Sheet1 of a Workbook -
•I have seven columns (assume header row names are “A, B, C, D, E, F, G”) each containing numeric data in random order.
•All columns are of the same length (equal number of rows), followed by a blank cell, but the number of rows is unknown.
•Columns with header row names A-E will only contain numbers from 0 to 100, while F and G may contain numbers from -127 to +128.
Here is what I would like to do –
I would like to be able to analyze the data in columns A-D to locate rows that contain specific combinations of values (ex. row 41 contains the values 50, 0, 0, 0 and row 239 contains values 100, 0, 0, 0 in columns A – D, respectively, etc.).
For each row that is found to contain one of these combinations (there are many different combinations required), I would like to copy the associated values from columns E, F, & G for that row, and paste them into their respective (E, F, & G) columns located on Sheet2 of the same workbook. However, I would like to paste the E, F, & G values into a specific row order on Sheet2, DETERMINED by the value of the A – D combination identified on Sheet1.
Continuing with the ex. above, let’s say I would like to have the EFG values from row 239 in Sheet1 copied to row 10 in Sheet2, while the EFG values from row 41, Sheet1, are to be copied to row 11 in Sheet2.
In effect, I would like to create a table of this subset of data, in a specific order, from which I could work later.
I can do this manually using “ AutoFilter” to locate the data I need and then write formulas to copy the data from Sheet1 to Sheet2 in the order that I need, but every time the order of the original data on Sheet1 changes I have to start all over.
From mySQL database, i am getting a ton of data that is all being inputted into a single excel cell. Within this cell, there are certain data points that i wish to obtain (Bank #, SSN #, Routing #). There are multiple difficulties in obtaining this information.
1. these cells contain the same fields, but different number of total characters (differing in names, addresses, etc.)
2. some of the data points (like SSN) are inputted incorrectly, so even though a SSN is only 9 digits/characters, I may have to output all 11 that the SQL database placed within the cell.
Can I get some help? I'm thinking of a search function/macro within excel, because all of the fields show up correctly.

I have a large worksheet that needs to be summarized. I've created a pivot table to do this and now ant the pivot to be copied into another worksheet as values so that I can add other calculations to it (to the right of the pivot). Is there a way to copy a pivot from one worksheet to another as values only? The format is not important, just the values are what matters. Final outcome will be another sheet that just summarizes a couple of numbers based on the added formulas to the pivot that was pasted as values.

As seen in the attached spreadsheet on sheet1 the template is 6 columns and 5 rows. The colors correspond to the information needed on sheet 2. this template includes data from row 3 on sheet 2. I need a macro that will copy this template and return the next row of data from sheet2. this has me stumped. Also the data changes on sheet, so it may have many rows or just a couple.

Thus far I've adjusted it several ways, and as of now I am trying to have it open into a new workbook, but also copy and paste the data from the original workbook to the new workbook as paste special, values only, as the 1st workbook is linked to bloomberg and therefore contains live data. When I enter values in the userform textbox and press update button i need to copy whole row of data which is next to the textbox from userform to database sheet. (Copy only if data entered in the textbox).
Basically if textbox has a value in userform row 1 and it has a value copy it to database sheet if not skip and if value is in other texbox copy other rows.

I have a perplexing problem. I created code to copy a worksheet that has the correct page setup and then copy/paste special to get just the values, not the formulas from the master sheet. It works standalone - the copied worksheet after doing the paste/special just has the data along with the master sheet's original page setup. When I include the code within a For Each... loop, it only copies the worksheet and I get the formulas. What is different between the two approaches that would cause the loop code to not do the paste/special values?

I have a workbook that has quite a bit of data and goes through a lot of processing to arrive and a final summary worksheet. I want to take this summary worksheet and copy the values to a new workbook.
The issue is when I use the following code, it pulls the worksheet into a new workbook with the formulas (which turn to error messages since there is no longer a connection to the data source).
I could lengthen the code to create a new workbook, select the original data, copy, paste values into the new workbook, but that approach seems longer than needed. I'm sure there has got to be a way to copy just the values quickly and simply.

Someone created a macro for me that creates and names worksheets based off of a list on my first worksheet "Summary". I would love to be able to then have the list of titles on Summary sheet be in cell A1 on each of the worksheets that I had created.

I have a multi-worksheet spreadsheet in excel 2003. I want to produce a macro that will just save a copy of the front worksheet values only. That is I don't want to save any formulas or any of the hidden worksheets, just the front page report, plus it's formatting/layout.
I am trying to find a way of copying values from cells that are linked to another workbook and paste them to another sheet in same workbook to the end of last row entry. This needs to be done via VBA from a button. There are 35 rows and 9 columns linked to another workbook and they don't always have values (depending on source workbook). I have attached the excel sheet to better explain what I had in mind. ‘sheet1’ contains the raw data from SAP but, the number of columns varies every time so it cannot be directly sorted by selecting the column. I tried recording a macro but, as I don’t have a constant sheet to work with each time the macro obviously doesn’t work.
I have wind speeds and elevation data for 200 points. Each variable needs to go into a calculations spreadsheet on another worksheet. Once each variable gets put in the calculations automatically spit out the result. Now I need to use macro to automate this process so that it will repeat the steps I took for every line of data.
In English code terms, I want the Macro to say, take wind speed number and input in wind speed cell in calculations spreadsheet. Then take elevation number and input in calculations spreadsheet. Then take result number from calculations spreadsheet and input in cell. Then loop to go down the 200 lines of data. Is this possoble? Sorry for the non-technical wording.
