What I want is to only show duplicates, else "". One way is to sort column then use =exact function and deterimine true/false. however is there an easier way, hence withouth having to sort? i just want it to show only duplicate names in cell's.
In short, I would like a pivot table to only count unique values, but when I click into the pivot I would like to show all instances of that value. For example:
I have a table of data that I am creating a pivot table from. There are fields for Customer ID, Task Name, Age, and Notes. There will be multiple records for a single Customer ID each time it has new notes.
I would like to create a pivot table that has Task Name in the Row Labels, Age in the Column Labels, and count of Customer ID in the Values, so that, for example, I can see how many accounts have been in the Design task for 2 days. However, when I do this it counts each record, but I would like it to count each unique Customer ID. Also, when I click into the pivot, instead of pulling up one line per Customer ID, I would like it to pull up each instance of Customer IDs in that Task Name/Age combination (similar to doing a DISTINCT in SQL).
i have duplicate cell entries occuring. I have a column of about 8000 entries (Column B) and would like to have a cell at the top of my spreadsheet that displays where the first duplicate resides (Row No. will suffice).
At present i have a conditional format on dupllicates, but is is a big task to scroll down through all the data looking for them.
I have a movie list. column A is the number location i have my movie stored, and column b is the actual movie name. I backup my movies so that my kids wont destroy them. The list is around 1000. I have duplicate backups, i want to have a list of just the duplicate movie names and there locations.
I m trying to show duplicate entries and what forumla to use. Have A1 through to A5000 listed with diffrent phone numbers, I have been supplied with new numbers which i have placed in B1 (Not quite 5000 worth) But there are duplictes in B1.
If there is data in the cell then it is to be left. If there is no data in the cell then I would like to show the value 0.
I have tried using a circular reference, using the formula =IF(ISBLANK(B1),0,B1) and other similar formulas but they dont work as the formula overwrites the data in it.
I have a list of isometric drawing numbers ending with a [underscore]weld number e.g. 1692-SG-0040-04_05.
Some welds are repaired--in that scenario the amended weld number will be 1692-SG-0040-04_05R1, and even 1692-SG-0040-04_05R2 if repaired for a second time.
On occasion a weld may be cut out entirely and a new weld done. The weld number for that will be 6317-FG-1690-02_06C1.
And here's a wrinkle I've just verified...a cut weld may also be repaired so the weld number will look like 1698-SG-0077-01_04C1R1.
Is there a formula to count these as one weld: 1692-SG-0040-04_05 1692-SG-0040-04_05R1 1692-SG-0040-04_05R2
This as one weld: 6317-FG-1690-02_06 6317-FG-1690-02_06C1 6317-FG-1690-02_06C2
...and this as one weld: 1698-SG-0077-01_04 1698-SG-0077-01_04C1 1698-SG-0077-01_04C1R1
I am having trouble creating a function to count duplicates of duplicates.
An example of the data table 1 is:
Product 1 2nd Product 1 2nd Product 1 New Product 1 New Product 1 Flt Product 2 2nd Product 2 New Product 2 New Product 2 Flt Product 2 Flt Product 3 2nd Product 3 2nd Product 3 2nd Product 3 New Product 3 Flt
I created a new table (table 2) and made a list of all the Products on table 1 and removed the duplicates. I now have 3 columns with titles New, 2nd and Flt as follows:
New 2nd Flt Product 1 XX XX XX Product 2 XX XX XX Product 3 XX XX XX
I am trying to count the duplicates for each product (XX), but I can't seem to work it out. I've tried the MS help function, but unsure of the actual formula I need to be using.
I have 2 different formulas that I need changed in a similar way.
The first formula is for cell AV11: =SUM(BI11,BP11,BW11,CD11,CK11,CR11,CY11,DF11,DM11,DT11,EA11)+10
Every cell starts off blank.
What I need is for cell AV11 to always start off blank until data is entered into one of the other cells. The problem is that since the sum always needs to be +10 only when data is entered in the other cells, I don't know how to keep 10 from showing in cell AV11 when no data is typed in the other cells.
The other formula is for cell CO39: =(CU8)+3
I pretty much need the same thing. If no data is entered in cell CU8, then I do not want cell CO39 to show the 3.
I have a macro that Deletes duplicates in a column. But it deletes all but the last cell. Does anyone know how to change it so It keeps the first cell and deletes the subsequent duplicates Instead?
At any rate, for a statistics experiment, I need a way to obtain precisely 6 random, numeric values in a cell, separated by commas, with no duplicates.
For example, if cell A1 contains the following: 7, 12, 14, 7, 14, 3, then I need to remove the duplicate(s) -- in this case, the extra 7 and the extra 14. After the two duplicates are removed, I then would have to replace with two more values (non-duplicates, of course).
Here are the restrictions, in addition to having no duplicate values appear:
* The first 5 values need to be randomly drawn from values between 1 and 75, inclusive.
* The 6th value needs to be randomly drawn from values between 1 and 15 (inclusive).
* It would be nice - but not necessary - to have the first 5 values sorted in ascending order. For example: 7, 12, 14, 29, 70, 3.
I have this macro when run copys and pastes values for a row of cells onto another sheet. However if 2 cells in the same row have a number greater than zero. It duplicates the entry. What I need is some sort of check that says if 2 or more cells in the same row have a number greater than zero just copy that row once only.
What I'm trying to do is lookup a description matching the date on worksheet 1 cell (a2) and go to worksheet 2 and copy all descriptions associated with that date into worksheet 1 in cells b3:b6 (array may vary) without duplicates.
The date and descriptions relate to safety inspections and I am trying to include them in a report. The answer is important to me as well as the benefits to many others.
I have one worksheet in my job named "Tudo" and there I have about 100 rules and the name of employees that need to follow these rules. What I need is the worksheet named "Nomes com Regras" show me in each name which rules is for each person.
I use excel 2007 and need a formula to identify cells that have duplicate values within the same cell. For example, some of my city fields have the city twice, like baltimorebaltimore.
Is there a way of checking for duplicates in a range of cells using one cell only for the code? Return does not have to include what value is a duplicate - only true or false. This opposed to using multiple cell and COUNTIF or a pivot table.
Is there a way to avoid a textbox value from being entered into the same cell on a worksheet more than once.
I am building a BOL(Bill Of Lading) wizard. Within the userform the end user will input the part numbers and quantities to be shipped... it also has a textbox that will hold the PO number that each part belongs to. I have a command button that says Add to Pallet 1. Pallet 1 will be on a row by itself on the excel sheet. Parts belonging to different PO#'s can be on this 1 pallet. When the end user clicks the "add to pallet1" button... the PO textbox (textbox6) value will be sent to (Sheet3) Cell I28. If, for example, PO# 12345 has already been added to (sheet3) Cell I28 and then the end user plugs it in again, i would like for it to be discarded and a message box stating this PO Number has already been accounted for...
so you get a better understanding...
Qty's... part numbers and PO#'s for Pallet 1 will be on row 28. Multiple PO#'s will fit into Cell I28 seperated by spaces and i will do wrap text.
Qty's...part numbers and PO#'s for Pallet 2 will be on row 29...so on and so on...
I would like to have the duplicate numbers in position one ( cell D9:D18), position two (cell E9:E18) and position three (cell F9:18) all counted and then ranked based upon date range in column A.
The number order of precendence is 0-9 with zero being the lowest.
Column (I9:I18) counts the duplicates, draws and no draws of digits 0-9. Column (J9:J18) converts results from column I9:18 into a percent.
I need to add a sort button at the bottom of position 1 (columns H & I 22), position 2 (columns L & M 22) and position 3 (columns P & Q 22)
When the sort button is selected it will sort the data by # of repeats, draws, and no draws as illustrated in (columns I, M & Q) or sort data by Position number from 0-9 as illustrated in (columns H) which will then show data of repeats and percentages out of rank order, because it is in order of number precedence.
Last but not least a graphic bar chart that shows the results ranked highest to lowest from when the sort button is selected with the number at the top of the bar colored black. Bar graph colors to be: top 3 red, middle 4 yellow and bottom 3 blue. This should show a vertical cascade effect.
I need to write a macro for find a value in all sheets in current workbook. The problem is put like this: I have to write a ID (for DVD archiving) in a column but testing that generated value is unique in entire workbook (I have multiple sheets, organized by movie genre). I can use find method and testing for value <> Nothing but it always said that the value is present (the current cell value); there is any method to omit selected cell value? I think "After:=" parameter can do this but I don't figure out how to handle with it...
I have this worksheet with 2 buttons and 2 textboxes.the first button is named search literally to search the items inputted in the textboxes and the second button is clear which clear all the inputted items in the textboxes and the search field. I manage to code those things however I have a main problem. How am I suppose to linked a checkbox with those items?
For example I searched this particular item so the checkbox corresponding to that item must show up in the left most column of it. and if I searched multiple items those checkboxes must show up too. I am having a hard time coding and trying since I am new in vba. I also attached a sample worksheet. I am using excel 2007.
I have two worksheets. ws1 contains a large number of dates on column 3. ws3 contains around 20 dates on column 3.
I want to pick two dates randomly in ws1 that does not already exist in ws3.
Here is my working code, but it is really slow to process. How to optimize this code? Also I would like to add a function where if the macro is not able to find two random dates that aren't already in ws3 then exit loop.
VB: Set ws1 = thisworkbook.sheets(1) Set ws3 = thisworkbook.sheets(3)
lr = ws2.Cells.Find(What:="*", After:=[A1], SearchDirection:=xlPrevious).Row Set rvis = ws2.Range("c2:c" & lr).SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible) mynodate = 0
I want a VBA that searches for duplicates, triplicates, or more and combine the cellvalue that is next to the duplicates. Also, if it combines them, it should only use the last letter. I have a code that works partially, but I'm stuck.
For example, I have this list:
1 2014A
2 2014B
3 2014C
1 2014D
4 2014E
1 2014F
I want it to combine the A, D and F like this:
1 2014A
1 A/D/F
2 2014B
[Code] .......
I created the following script, but i can't get it to use the last letter. Also it creates a " / / " when the cells are empty.
