Multi Surfaces In Surface Chart
Feb 28, 2008I would like to do a surface chart which, with the same x and y, there are different z numbers. They can connect to different surface. Could it be possible? To make it clear, I have a 4-dimension Data, z(x,y,a), i want to show on the surface chart that how different 'a' gives the different x-y-z surface. I don't know if it is possible.

Dec 31, 2007I have created a form for my customers. It is attached.
In creating the form, I have merged cells so that the area behind my text boxes will appear clean (no lines).
However, I cannot remove the lines around certain cells see, e.g. range K21.
I would like to make the form as "pretty" as possible for my clients (and it would help me look good to management).
Grid Lines Disappear When Importing Data
Jan 16, 2007I sometimes import data in the copy-paste way from completely different sources, eg. a program on the web or whatever, which has arranged the data in a table.
It is often succesful with the data neatly arranged in the spreadsheet in columns and rows and all, but sometimes the gridlines disappear even though 'cell format' is set to 'none' in 'grid lines' and the settings have a mark for 'visible grid lines' and their color is 'automatic'. Only the imported area misses the gridlines.
It is of course possible to set some grey gridlines manually in cell format, but then I get them on the print also and I don't want that.

Aug 11, 2009Is it possible to show a table in a user form? For example I have a table that is 4 columns wide and 5 rows deep with lines seperating both. I have tried using a text box and list box to achieve the results I am looking for but can't figure out how to add lines to seperate data between rows and columns.

Feb 16, 2012I am having a problem formatting a chart in Excel 2010. My chart has multi-level category axis labels, and I would like to have a vertical grid line separating each major group of categories. In Excel 2003, I could right-click on one of the gridlines and then specify the spacing I wanted between gridlines. In Excel 2010, as soon as I indicate that I want multi-level category axis labels, I get a vertical gridline between each category and I am unable to alter the spacing. If I deselect the multi-level axis label option, I can adjust the spacing between the vertical gridlines, but the axis multi-level label functionality is lost. Is there a way to fix this problem without having to resort to using the drawing tools or text boxes to achieve the desired results.

I have highlighed the cell in question, gone to format/cell/borders and everything looks fine. Black color + format border shows square with all sides of square showing.

My issue comes when based on that result (colum Y in "Perf&Pot" Sheet) I want to export that to a nine box matrix (Sheet 2 "grid" in the attached excel). As could be several people in the same box I wasn't able to com up with a formula that solves this.

Chart Not Showing Zero Values
May 9, 2011I'm making a chart for values of L6:L40 which are all percentages.
The chart is a bar graph..
On C6:C40 i have movie titles. (the amount which vary by week.
ON MY CHART.. i always have at the bottom a bunch of bars that just show 0.00%
How can i get the bar graph to only recognize values either where..
values are greater than zero in the l column rows.. or value is not equal to "" null in the c column?
Is this possible?

Chart Not Showing Results From Formula
Jun 16, 2014I have a spreadsheet (attached) that has a formula, which calculates the number of days between two dates if another field contains data. My problem is that when I chart the data, it isn't showing up in the chart. Cell G1 (Tab 1) contains a 1 because the document was returned 1 day late. This isn't showing up on the Chart (Tab 2).

Chart Showing Date Formats
Jul 20, 2012I have a spreadsheet that has two columns. Column A is a date format and column B has the number of days between both dates over 2 years analysis is =A8-A7.
However when i come to build a chart its all wrong as the dates are following a weekely format, can i adjust this to pick up only the dates that are showing on the cells in column A? also is ther ea way which teh #VALUE! doe snot show?

Pivot Chart Showing Zero Avg As + Or - Values?
Dec 14, 2012I made a chart to show performance above and below average for sales teams.
When team is selected with no salesperson, value should be 0.
Employee selected and will show there week by week trends above or below. Seemed like a good idea.But the zeros (team level) are being displayed as plus or minus bars which isn't right and the labels show "0".
I find the pivot table is actually showing strange values if you click in the cell even though it displays a 0.Notations positive or negative like 3.80647894157197E-16.
The underlying data is an average formula and selecting invidual criteria, I show there are no anomalies.
Make Simple Chart Showing Angles
Feb 8, 2013I'm trying to plot a chart of some sort in Excel to display 4 angles that different blood vessels branch off the aorta. Ideally I'd like to input the values of these angles which would vary from patient to patient and have them be displayed in some kind of chart. The chart I'm hoping to achieve would be cirular with the 4 angles represented by spokes which extend out all of the same length. I've attached a rough sketch to show what I'm trying to achieve and I'd be hoping to be able to change each angle in a worksheet and have the chart update to reflect.

Feb 5, 2013I've attached a chart with variance data for each month of the year. I've used an IF formula to "NA" the months with no data, so nothing shows up in the chart. However, I would like to know if it's possible to have the chart only show months with data. The IF formula gets rid of the data point but it doesn't prevent the chart from showing the month on the X axis. In the attached file I manually selected the three months with data.

The problem is when the score is i.e. 12-3 the formula is only looking at 2-3. Hence this actually then shows as a defeat. The formula causing this problen is an array and shown as

Candles And Lines In One Chart
Jun 12, 2005I like to create a float chart in excel. for this purpose I need to have a candle chart and add lines into the same chart. I can create a candle chart in excel. But as soon I add lines to it (additional data rows) the candles are distorted. The principle I'm interested in applies as well to: how do I add moving averages into an excel candlestick chart? As soon as I add the data for the MAs, the candles are distorted.
In short: how do I combine candles and lines in one chart?

It is very simple: When the lines goes up they turn black. When they go down they turn red.
The code work, but only if all cell in the series is filled. If one cells is blank the code error. I'm using #NA() in all cells that are blank, so the chart skip that cell and continue from the next cell's value.

I am having problems creating a chart off of the following data. Each of the cells which have a numerical value are v-lookuping from another sheet. It needs to remain this way as when I switch brands (through data validation), the numbers will update and the chart should as well. Right now, the chart shows these values as zero. I have done this a million times in excel 2007, but now with 2010, I keep having this problem

Showing Overlapping Series (seasonal Data) On A Chart
Aug 30, 2006Attached please find two charts based on data from 2003 until year-end 2006 (estimated). I want to show that the data is "seasonal" and sales depends on the month it falls on... i have several issues with the chart, is the second chart "too" overlapping and is there too much data to read? 2) how can i get the text boxes to go in the same direction as the chart..i know in powrerpoint you can move the direction of the textbox but how in excel? in sum, i can only choose one chart but still want to make each chart look much better.

Currently the x-series only has labels for each specific time there was a change in value. I've tried to change the scale but the options that I want aren't there.

Dec 29, 2008I'm trying to create an area chart to show the change in the number of staff working in my store over time. Unfortunately, Excel likes to draw diagonal lines. That is if I have the following data:
9:00AM - 1 staff
10:00AM - 2 staff
11:00AM - 1 staff
Excel will draw a diagonal line between each data point, rather than creating a box. This gives the illusion that there are somehow half people working at 9:30 and 10:30. Is there a workaround?
Filled Patterns For Xy Chart Lines
Jun 6, 2007I have an xy chart for which I would like to format the lines to be different patterns beyond those available in the format series dialog. I recognise that this will mean using VBA and I am happy to do that. I would like to be able to use patterns in the same way as they are used in a column chart.
I recorded a macro to see which properties were changed when the patterns are selected in the dialog for the xy chart and it is clear that it is only the LineStyle of the border and that there is no interior.

This would explain why when I use debug.print ser.Interior.Pattern I get -4105 or if I change ser.Fill.Forecolor etc it has no effect.
Is there any way to use user defined patterns to colour the lines in the same way as in a histogram/coloumn chart?
