As a starter in VBA i have a lot of doubts... one of them is, how can i sum in a column the cells that are bold? i've thought that sumif was the trick, but i don't find the way to be able to adapt code.
View 2 RepliesI am merging columns. Col B has all text in bold. Col C has all text in regular font. When I use ASAP to merge, the merged column comes out all bold. When I use a formula to merge the merged column comes out all regular. What I want is for the merged column to contain the bold text from Col B in bold, and the regular text from Col C in regular.

I'm trying create a Sum(If formula with 2 conditions, but whatever I try doesn't seem to want to cooperate. I want to add up the sum of all invoices according to the country they deal with and the month that they were created in. I've attached a sample file showing what I'm trying to accomplish. Here is how far I've gotten so far: =SUM(IF(Main!$L:$L;B21*Main!$Z:$Z;C20);Main!$H:$H)
I've tried other forms as well but even though this only returns #Value!, at least the formula is accepted.
Is there any way to use sumif with or , in other words to put more than one condition to execute the sum process
like this way :
+ sumif(search range;condition1;condition2;sumrange)

There is a function sumif() that is used for do sum() under condition
Nevertheless, if I want to do max() under condition, how can I do?

When you filter a spreadsheet, you can find results that are similar to a condition. I have families of products that share a common 3 digits, but the rest of the model number is different. The 3 similar digits could be the first 3 digits, or it could be 3 digits starting with the 2nd digit. This spreadsheet has each complete model number on its own row. In that row is a number that represents a volume. I want to be able to sum the volume column if the model number contains the 3 digits.Model Number

In the above example, the total for "hat" = 5 + 1 + 8 = 14
I would type in a condition (family name) into another cell (D1) and the formula in D2.
I want to perform a SUMIF if more than 1 condition is true. I can do a regular SUMIF if, for example, values in column A is > than 10,000, then SUM associated values in column F.
However, what if I want a SUMIF if values in column A is > 10,000, values in column B = “Yankees”, then SUM associated values in column F.
Is there a way to have a sumif formula dependent on two conditions?

In column next to it (so the rows are the same) I am trying to write a list of sumif formula, where the range is first column of the first worksheet, condition is a value of the cell next to where I am writing the sumif equation (list of data) and the sumrange is the second colummn in the first worksheet. First I will need to check if the column has an "lh" if true then sum row2, however i will need a second condition that will check that if >8 it will use the value 8 instead of 12.
However if value is<=8 get that value from the cell.
In this case the correct answer is
8 + 8 + 5 = 21
8 (because it is <=8 get the value from the cell) + 8 (because 12 is>8 use the value "8") + 5 (because <=8)

For example, in A1 I use a data list created from data elsewhere on the spreadsheet. In the data I created elsewhere, there are 2 columns being used. The 1st column is the information that is being used to create the list and the second column contains specific values (number or text). In the dropdown menu I select an available value (text or number) . When I have selected that value I would like cell A2 to show what the cell directly to the right of it shows from the data I have elsewhere in the spreadsheet as mentioned. I have tried the SUMIF function however it seems to exclude certain values (number or text) and I am not sure what else to use.

I have 2 columns of data, both numeric and the SUMIF needs to say if H1:H100="10" and also if J1:J100="907". I can perform one or the other but not both.
I am trying to perform a calculation in a cell that leaves the value 0 if before Feb 2014, changes to the value of another cell in Feb 2014 and leaves the value unchanged if after Feb 2014. I can get to the Feb 2014 value but after that month the value changes to 0.
The Cell formula that I am trying to use is as follows:
=IF(YEAR($A$3)<2014,"0",(IF(YEAR($A$3)>2014,H114,(IF(MONTH($A$3)<>2,H114,AA118)))))
A3 contains TODAY()
H114 is the cell being calculated
AA118 is the cell containing the calculated value for the current month.
I would like to try and achive a conditional format that will require a lookup function. when the condition is met it places Yes or No into a cell and changes that row colour to red for the NO condition. and after 10 days from now the rowcolour is removed.

Uploaded is a condensed version of the point in the process I'm having difficulty with. This workbook will pull information from 8 other workbooks and give me excatly what everyone made on any weekday.
And from there, with the kind help of this forum, I figured out how to do a SUMIF based on the recipe number. And it summed up all instances of 'Recipe X' being used. However, it continues to SUMIF itself all the way down the page... which is good, because of how recipes are chosen for each kitchen. However, I only need to report one instance of each recipe.
In the uploaded example (and I apologize for the colorful sheet, but it helped me double check what I was working on.) ... I only need to report the PURPLE results elsewhere... the first instance of each SUMIF.
I am wanting to use these two formulas in one cell. Is there anyway to do this? If "AD3" is 0 I want this =SUM(X3:AC3) and then if cell "AD3" is greater than 0 I want to basically use this formula
=SUM(AH3,X3:AC3)-AD3.
Is there anyway to merge these two formula's?
I'm having trouble with the two formulas working in conjuction with each other.

Condition 2:

"Condition 1" seems to override "Condition 2"? Ever see that?
I am trying to use VBA code to set the last row to bold. I have been able to set the entire row to bold using:

but I would like for the code to be more dynamic. I.E. Only making cells on the last row Bold If they contain values. I have been able to do something similar in the past with interior color on the header row but, am looking for the same type of thing for the last row in this instance. The code I was able to use to turn the interior color of cells Green looked like this:

To get Excel to play nicely with date formats and stuff, however, my research has come to a dead end with Bold/Italic - with everyone suggesting that VBA is the only solution.
