Tracking Of Credits (Hours) With Expiration
Mar 31, 2014
I work in a HR department and I'm trying to create a spreadsheet to track the amount of extra-duty hours each worker has. For every extra hour they work today, they can use this hour next time.
Screen Shot 2014-03-31 at 9.25.22 pm.png
This is my current spreadsheetCredit hours means hours added to their 'account'.Debit means hours taken out.Hours will expire in X days if not utilised.Right now, each worker has their own spreadsheet in the same workbook.I have about 25 workers. Is this the best way to manage this? How can I create a 'bank account' system to track their hours?

i work dispatch at a company and we're trying to track how long it takes for a technician to arrive on-site. my worksheet currently includes the date of call-in (E1) , time of call-in (F1), Service Date (G1), Service Time (H1), among many other field. the easy solution is to use the formula (G1+H1)-(E1+F1), and use the answer as the total amount of time, but the problem is if a customer call in at 3:00 PM and we service them at 9:00 AM the following day, it looks like it took 18 hours to arrive on-site, when in reality, since we close at 5:00 PM and open at 9:00 AM, we only took 2 hours to arrive on-site. is there any formula i can write to account for non-business hours and weekends, or is this a bit above what i should expect from excel?

I have a downtime tracking spreadsheet that we want to be able to track the downtime on the line. However, we only want to count the working hours, not overnight, etc. I have added the weekend day work hours and Saturday work hours but haven't been able to figure out how to connect them into a formula with the down time.

Not sure whether this is possible, but it's always worth asking.
Is there a macro I can run that will go through each line and check if the invoice value in column I (rental amount) has a corresponding payment (shown in red).
It would need to match a positive to a negative value and check the Lessee name matches, then return a 'Y' in column J. Oh, and if there is a 'Y' in column J already, that line obviously cannot be matched again.
After that I can set something up to remove those tagged lines to a separate worksheet, leaving me with just the unpaid invoices.

Is there a quicker way to match the amounts in debits with credits. for example the amount that reverses the transaction in the accrual account for the debit column is after 4 or 5 or sometimes 10 transactions in the credit column.
I have tried using conditional formatting - Highlight - duplicates, but it does not give the matching reversals and include any item(s) with duplicated values.

Q:How to delete reversal entries?
I have debits & credits in the same excel column and i want to delete the matching amounts but with opposite signs.
Example:
A B
Name Amount
1)Mr. A 2000
2)Mr. B 6000
3)Mr. A -2000
4)Mr. D 4000
5)Mr. A 2000
Now i want to matching amount of Mr. A of row 1 & 3 as these two entries are reversing each other. I am poor in english but hope that i have clarified the problem

As you can see on the example i have TEST hours.xlsx, I have a file that calculate the money every doctor should take based on the working hours.
Nights, holidays and holiday night have different price/hour.
The excel is working fine…but now I have to make a formula that separates automatically based on the beginning time and the end time of the doctor’s shift the day hours tha night hours, the holiday hours and the holiday nights hours.
In the excel I have fill the hours Manuscript, I need a formula to do that for me…
On the yellow cell I have try to find out the formula for the holiday hours but because the day is calculated due to a formula it is not working!!!
Simple Example: A doctor Is working from 21:00- 8:00 (next morning Sunday) he should have 1 simple hour (21:00-22:00) 9 night hours (22:00-6:00) and 2 holiday hours (6:00-8:00,)

I have looked through your forums the last few hours. I have found similar code to what I'm looking for... but not quite.
I have a date in B2 (10-May-07)
I have an expiration date in C2 (10-May-08)
I want D3 to show months to expiration first (in this case 7)
Then I want it to highlight in yellow 90 days out
Then I want it to highlight in orange 60 days out
Then I want it to highlight in red 30 days out
I use Excel 2007, however I want the code to work with 2003.

I have a large document control register and it is updated daily and posted to a cloud for many people to access. It is very time consuming to constantly jump in and out and highlight and unhighlight as many things as there are and keeping track of which items that need to be unhighlighted. The thing I'm trying to figure out is if there is a formula for this...If i change any cell in a row I want the row to highlight itself entirely, but after 24 hours I want the highlight to expire. Is there a formula or function I can use to make this happen?

I have a vba code for an excel spreadsheet that lets me know when a particular persons' certification is about to expire (within 31 days). However what I cannot figure out is how to make this work with more than one expiration date ( additional columns containing other certification dates). I keep getting errors when trying to add additional columns to check ( I do admit that my VBA coding is atrocious at best).
Ultimately what I would like to achieve is a list of names with expiration dates alongside popping up when opening, but maybe I am asking too much?

I wonder if there is a possibility of the expiration date is in a cell, and that the file is not self-exclude, either block until just change the date in the cell.
Code:

I am new at excel and have very limited experience. I have a employee training database, with employees (in column A2:A54) and the certification names (in row A1:AS1) that I must generate a monthly report on employees that are expiring within the current month. The cells are already conditionally formatted to change colors for one month prior to expiration date, current month of expiration date, and past the expiration date.
I am manually gathering the data then adding it to another sheet. In the mist of trying to gather data, I am missing and/or overlooking information. I wanted to know if there is a way to automatically generate a report based on the expiration dates that would pull the employees name and which certification is expiring or expired, preferable both. I have tried reading threads and applying advanced filters but due to the number of certifications it is not functional to do it this way.
I have attached a sample of the spreadsheet : ETD.xlsx

I am charged with building a predictive model that can find items in a hospital inventory that will expire before they are used. The idea is simple: if I use an item every week, this item has an expiration date of 50 weeks from now, and I have 60 on the shelf, then I will likely expire 10 of the items.
The complexity is that there are multiple expiration dates. So, I want be able to look down a list of 3000 items, find the multiple entries of expiration dates, and isolate them based on criteria (select, for example, the first chronologically expiration date).

For the small database in my example workbook, I would like to apply credits earned at a later date to the oldest charges and create a "To Date" balance. After creating the "To Date" balance, I would like to select the smallest "To Date" balance as a way to identify the first charge that has no payment. Please see the attached for more clarity and additional information. The last column shows the desired results.

I have a spreadsheet where we track our contractor's Worker's Comp and General Liability insurance certificate expiration dates. I want the expiration date to highlight in red if it is expired and to highlight in orange if it will expire within 30 days or less.
I have attached a testing sheet similar to what I'm working on. The F column has the dates that need to highlight. I have MS Excel 2010.

The dates that are listed from row 5 down are when the classes were taken. the expiration date will be based on row 3. Some are annual,3 years and 5 years, etc. I am using Excel 2010....

In column A I have a date AND time entered. By the way, this is not via cell format, I have manually entered, say today's date and the current time. In column B I have a future date and time.
Basically, column A is the date and time a problem was given to me. Column B would be the date and time I resolved the problem. Now for the formula....Column C needs to spit out whether the problem was solved between 24 and 48 hours OR less than 24 hours OR greater than 48 hours.

I have created a qualification tracking spreadsheet to track when qualifications are coming due. Each cell may have a different date based on when that employee initially got that qualification. I want the cell that the initial qualification date is typed in to turn "red" after 180days, "orange" after 120 days and "yellow" after 90 days. I have a formula that does close to what I need, but it changes the cell next to it in color.
That code is as follows: =AND(A1<>"",Today()>=A1+90,B1="")
I have attached the sheet, what I am trying to do. Basically columns B-E and rows 2-35 are the ones that need the formatting.

Lunch is not paid. Holiday and vacation hours get calculated at the regular pay rate. Overtime is anything in excess of 8 hours per day and/or in excess of 40 hours per week and/or over 5 working days per week. Saturdays for most the employees will be overtime because it will be their 6th workday of the week; but it will be regular time for one employee as it will only be his 5th workday of the week.
For accounting and payroll purposes, we need the totals to display in both hour and decimal format.
So far, I have Lunch, Regular and Overtime hours figured out, but I still need to work with Saturday, Vacation and Holiday hours. Also, currently, the time in and out has to be typed in with the colon and AM or PM. Is there another way to input the info without having to type in those items? I'm trying to make it as user friendly as possible.

The below formulae allows me to see the difference between two dates and only returns the difference in working hours ie :
Difference between
02/02/2010 08:00 & 03/02/2010 08:00 is 16 Hours 0 Minutes
=(INT(A3)-INT(C6))+MAX(MOD(A3,1)-MAX(MOD(C6,1)))
The following displays it in the Hrs and Mins format
=TEXT(B15,"[h]")&" Hour"&IF(OR(TEXT(B15,"[h]")+0=0,TEXT(B15,"[h]")+0>1),"s "," ")&MINUTE(B15)&" Minute"&IF(MINUTE(B15)1,"s ",""))

I'm attempting to make a simple time sheet for a handful of employees. I'd like to enter the clock in time and clock out time for each day. The end cell should be the running total for the week. The tricky part for me is having the formula subtract an hour for each day that is over 5 hours.

I have been working on a timesheet but the problem I have come across is calculating actual hours worked only in the core hours and any work outside the core hours is calculated in the outside hours column. A standard work day is 7.6 hours working between 8.30am and 5.00pm. However if someone was to commence work either before 6am or after 8pm this is outside of core hours. I have attached an example of my timesheet for you to see what I am talking about.
