Transpose / Match / Array Column To Rows

I've tried using a Pivot Table, a Match Array V-Look Up formula I found on here (and can't seem to find anymore) that I altered to fit my cell needs, and even implemented RP-Excel.

Additional challenges:

The actual workbook is over 4,000 rows long with a lot of various other information in neighboring columns.

The dates represent each time a specific box was filled. Some boxes only filled once, some up to 14 times. I only want up to the first five fills.

Able to try any of the following, or combinations of: Formulas, Pivot Tables, VBA, RP Excel

Transpose Each Row Every 5 Rows (of 15 Cells) Into One Column

I am using Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and Windows 7. I have a lot of data (1-4 thousands of rows) where each column represents a year for 15 years. Every set of 5 rows are different data for a company and the values for every year of each data are under the representative column.

I want to transpose the values for every year, of one data at a time, into one column. Then do the same for the next data.

For Example I have something like this:



If there is a way to do this for one data (i.e. data1) it will be easy to do it for the other 4. I also know how to create a macro from the Developer Tab if it is easier to create a vba code. A formula of course is ok too. I tried for hours to find a way to do this but I couldn't...

I've trawled a few forums for a while now trying to find a macro that matches my specifications, or one I can adapt but so far have been unsuccessful, so here goes:

I have one column of data (col. A) of customer names and addresses each with an empty row in between them. The lines of data relating to each customer vary from 6 rows to 14 rows, then an empty row, then the next customer and so on - for several thousand rows.

I am wanting to create a macro that will transpose each customer to either their own row in sheet2, or to column B and then delete column A at the end.

All I can find is macros for a specific number of rows rather than varying. One way would be to have a code that 'pads' out those customers with fewer than 14 lines by inserting rows to make them 14, and then a code to transpose 15 rows at a time.

Nested Index / Match Array - Return Value In Column C When Matching Column A And B But With Few More Criteria

I am trying to use a nested INDEX and MATCH array formula to return the value in column C when matching column A and column B, but with a few more criteria.

The range containing all the data


Cat 1

I am looking for the array formula to return the name of the person in column C who is in Cat 1 after the date in column B.

For example;
C7 should return "John" because B7 requests "January 15, 2014", which is after the value in B1
C8 should return "John" because B8 requests "February 15, 2014", which is after the value in B1
C9 should return "Andrew" because B9 requests "August 15, 2014", which is after the value in B4

The best try I had for the formula in C7 was


This brings back "John" as desired in C7, but when copying down the table into C8 and C9 both C8 and C9 return Andrew.

I guess this is due to my ">=" condition in the Match formula and it is returning "Andrew" because "Andrew" is also after the date requested, but I cannot for the life of me work out how to get it to work.

Transpose Column To Rows - Referencing Columns By Number

I'm trying to create a macro that transposes data from columns to rows.

My source data is laid out so Column A and B contain item identifiers, and then the header for Column C to Column S contain dates (March, April, May, etc) and the row data below contains quantities for each month. This is on Sheet1.

I need my end data (on Sheet2) to have the item detail in Column A and B, the quantity in Column C and the Date in Column D. If there is a date that has no quantity then it should be skipped.

Sample Source Data (Pipes added for clarity, they aren't in the actual data)

(Please note June 11 has no quantity)

Sample Destination Data:

Below is the start of the code, obviously I have a ways to go before it's fully functional but hopefully you get the idea how I'm trying to attempt this. Where I'm having issues right now is referencing columns by number. Is there a way to do this so I can do Column = Column + 1 to advance columns to the right? Or any better way to address this all together?

Transpose Column Into Unique Rows With Comma Delimited Values

I am trying to execute a script I copied from this site to transpose a column of values into unique rows. There was a very similar thread to my question, but the code does not work for my situation as I am a newbie to VBA. The referenced thread was Need to transpose multiple comma separated values

I would like to comma delimit column "D" into unique rows per value while maintaining the relationship with the data in the other columns. Here is the example of my data:

Apache Hunting Club




Tiger Branch Hunt Club

Big "O" Hunting Club


59, 64, 65, 75, 79, 84

I want to make each value in Column D a unique row and still be associated with Column A-C. When I run this code I get a Runtime script error 9.

Excel 2007 :: Transpose Data From Column A1 To Multiple Rows

I need to transpose data from Column A to Row 2 and down.

The data in column A is in sections of 19 rows and then a blank cell and another 19 rows of data contimuously, It is a dynamic range and can contain many thousands of Rows.

The data needs to be transposed from Column A to row 2 (row 1 has the head line for each column) so the 19 lines of data is now spread accross 19 columns in row 2 and the next section from column A is spread accross the 19 columns in row 3 and so on.

My data looks similar to the below. (Test Number 0001 starts in A1)

I want to compare two columns. I would like to see if the contents of column B appear anywhere in column A, for any amount of rows, and if it does, to place the match in col C.

So in the example below, red in B1 would be checked in A1 through A1000 or however long A is. When any row has red, place that match in that row for C.

This would be repeated until all rows in B are complete.

Col A: red
Col B: red
Col C: red

VBA Code To Copy And Transpose Array?

Below, I interpret "vArray" as a vertical array, but the output is horizontal when I run a VBA procedure with this line

Sheet5.Cells(1,1).Resize(1, 100).Value = vArray ( The horizontal values copied are correct! )

If I change this "Resize(1, 100)" to "Resize(100,1)" the output is now vertical but the cell values copied are all exactly the same to vArray(1)

How can this line to be modified to be horizontal and its values the right ones?

Converting 3x10 Array To A 1X30 Array To Run A Match Formula

Say I have 3 columns of data: A1:C10 and I want to run a Match() function on them all together to see if I get a match any one those cells, say the value of have in X1.

Since, Match only allows a One-Column lookup array.. is there a way to "concatenate" or "append" the 3 columns together within a formula so now I would be looking to Match in an array that is 1 column * 30 rows?

Basically want to convert =Match(X1,A1:C10,0) to =Match(X1,A1:A30,0) without moving around the raw data in the sheet.

And I want to avoid doing an AND or OR formula that uses 3 separate MATCH() for each column.

I have a hunch that the MMULT or MMULT/TRANSPOSE functions are involved, but can't seem to get it right.

When I did an array match -> ={MATCH(1,(TRIM($a2)=Sheet2!$A$1:$A$2)*(left(b2,5)&"*"=Sheet2!$b$1:$b$2),0)}

gave me an error but when I did an individual match to both John and Sedgw, it works.

This is exactly the same concept I am trying to accomplish, but don't know how all. I couldn't follow the thread either.

I have a schedule which is constantly being updated (simplier version attached). I want to create a schedule, which will:
1) First ask which region to display the information for (I would like to create the same pop up menu to choose from)
2) Then, it will select only that region's information (all rows & columns) and copy them into a new worksheet and lists it all
-if you go back to the Master List, you can again choose another Region and it will create another new worksheet with that region's information
3) Don't know if this is making things more complicated, but at the bottom of the attached file, there are 3 lines under "Land".

Is it possible to list these under the same spreadsheet as the region it is pertaining to but classify it separately under "Land" (ie leaving space, so it is clear this is separate

I have a excel workbook. which have a master data sheet or table as drawn.

The above sheet is master sheet. I have also worksheets which named are matching with column head from "DARCL", "MMT", SSL"......till "GRT" (No "order" named worksheet is there). So I want to feed data or value as total order in "ORDER" column, (it is not necessary to put the value in each row) and the total value or number is distributed by me in particular column or colums. After data feeding I have required a command button or any button that can copy or show the reference row (customer name) with its cell value in the matched column head worksheet. As example: total order is 200 put in "ORDER" column in row 3, and 200 is distributed as by myself 100 in column "E" (MMT) and 100 in column "H" (RITC) and so on...after this feeding, I click the button and the data will show or copy as table M/S UIW : 100 in "MMT" worksheet and M/S UIW: 100 in "RITC" worksheet.

As example layout of others worksheets.(attach pic)

After click command button on the master sheet the related customer name and the value will be populated in respective matched column head with worksheet. If there is no cell value in master sheet the below mentioned cell are hides.

Delete Rows If Column Has Fewer Than X Matches To Part String Match

I have data sets on multiple worksheets within a workbook (over 70). Based on the begining of a string, I need to count all instances with that begining, and if there are fewer than 12 instances, delete the entire row.

Data set example:

In this example, I need to count each instance of rows starting with 1/* - 9/*, and delete rows as mentioned. In other data sets the string might start Gi1/*, and so on. In the following code, if I do not loop, and only test against 1 value type, and ONLY run it once, it works. As soone as I try to loop through all possibilities, or run the macro a second time, it blanks out the entire worksheet, starting at row 3.
