VB Script- Open Another Workbook, Paste Selected Cells
I have a cell in one worksheet xxx in workbook XXX column F selected
I want to run a macro that will open (if not already open) Worksheet yyy in workbook YYY (in C:/Test/ directory)
And copy values from columns B and C of workbook XXX worksheet xxx (the row determined by the cell selected in the F column) to columns D and G respectivley of workbook YYY worksheet yyy
I'm hoping the data will be pasted to a new row at the bottom of all existing rows on worksheet yyy (xlup?)
If multiple cells in column F worksheet xxx are selected, it would be nice if the data was sent over to yyy in the same fashion, ordered top to bottom all at once...I don't want to have to select each row individually and run the macro

Macro To Open Workbook - In Selected Destination
I currently have a macro that goes into a specified folder and opens all the files within that folder. This works great for me, but if i have to change the location of the folder i need go into the macro and change the destination code.
I was hoping to let other people use this, but not necessarily people who would be able to go in and manually change the folder location. What i was wondering is if there is a function out there which would pop up a browse box which would allow the user to specify the folder location in which the files are kept? This would mean any user could use the tool to open the files without having to have the spreadsheet setup up on their machine.
Paste A Selected Range Of Cells
I think I have the comand to select a range of cells, but can not figure how to paste this selection later in the spreadsheet.
This is how the application works.
I have a spreadsheet that I am using as a template. The first 10 rows have to be repeated later in the same spreadsheet after I make a manual page break.
I the spreadsheet I am doing the following commands:
.Rows(istartrow).Pagebreak = xlPageBreakManual
Open Workbook, Find Last Row & Paste, Save And Close
What i need to do is Open a Closed workbook (which i have done in the code below)
1 . When this book opens there is a msgbox that needs to have "template" pasted in to then ok automatically clicked ( i have no clue if this can even be done)
2. Then go to Sheet("contactor info") find last row then paste certain info. Below is a peice of code i have from the open workbook but of corse it doesnt work. The red is where it hangs up.
openpath = ActiveWorkbook.Path & ""
Set wb = Workbooks.Open(openpath & "Template.xls")
With wb.Sheets("Contractor Info")
. Cells(Sheets("Contractor info").Rows.Count, "B").End(xlUp)(2, 1).Select
ActiveCell.Value = Msg1
ActiveCell.Offset(0, 4).Value = Msg2
ActiveCell.Offset(0, 5).Value = Msg3
ActiveCell.Offset(0, 3).Value = Msg5
ActiveCell.Offset(0, 2).Value = Msg4
ActiveCell.Offset(0, 1).Value = Msg6
ActiveCell.Offset(0, 6).Value = Msg7

Open Chosen File, Copy Range & Paste Into Workbook
I'd like to know if it is possible to run a macro in a workbook that will open another workbook (of the users choice) extract data from it, such as columns from its sheets then paste that data into the workbook the macro is running from. The file to be opened will change, so i've found some code that enables the user to select the file to open then open it.
Dim strFile As String
strFile = Application. GetOpenFilename
If strFile <> "False" Then Workbooks.Open strFile
This brings up the standard windows choose file to open box, then opens the selected file. Am I correct in thinking that the Dim here will store the file name I select in the open file box? If so, I'd like to know how to select the workbook using the dim so I can manipulate it from the workbook I'm running the macro in. Incidentally, once the the data has been copied, I'd like the workbook opened with the macro to be closed.
Open Workbook Where Named Cell Contain Name & Path, Copy Range And Paste Values
I am successfully opening a .csv file using a variable value stored in a named range in my Main file (the variable includes the directory and path).
I copy data from the .csv file to the Main file then I need to close the .csv file without saving but I want to do that by using the
command where "xxxx" is the namedrange in my Main file which stores the .csv filename (without the directory and path prefix).
I can use the
command but if I have another workbook open, this one closes instead of the .csv file I opened from the macro.
I realise this is probably very basic and I've searched the forums but can't find any identical postings.
Calculate The Sum Of Selected Cells From Another Workbook
I am trying to create a workbook that calcualtes the sum of selected cells from another workbook. I have quite a few formulas, so i would like to use the fill command to help. I cannot get excel to pick up the pattern so I can use the fill formula. The pattern is as follows.
Automatically Open New Workbook After 1st Workbook Open 4 Seconds
I have a presentation that I open from a short-cut. After the "Welcome Page" is opened, I want to open a second workbook in a new instance of Excel after 4 seconds.
I think that I can open the new instance of excel, but I don't know how to activate the macro after 4 seconds.
I'm sure there is a function someplace for this that can be used in a macro.
Then, after the second Workbook is opened, I want the Welcome Page "Workbook" closed, leaving the second Worbook open.
Make Workbook Open- Open Correct Month Workbook
I have Monthly sales sheets that import my cash register data into them. I wanted to set them up to do everything without being there. So I have my task manager open excel at 9:30pm everyday and it runs the macro to import the data into the correct day of the month. Here is the workbook
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
Dim dTime As Date
dTime = Time
If dTime >= TimeValue("9:30 PM") And _
dTime < TimeValue("9:40 PM") Then
This is in my July spreadsheet only. So is there a way to make it know which month spreadsheet to open on the 1st of the month? So come August 1st it will automatically open the August workbook and input the data for the first day? By using the date?
Copy Paste Cells To Newly Created Workbook
My code in the first workbook generates a new workbook with a variable in the filename, then copies the cells from the first workbook to the newly created workbook. This code is working properly when used in a draft worksheet I use for testing. As soon as I put it in the master file, an error message pops up "Runtime error 1004 : select method of range class failed". Then the debug sends me to the line " Cells.Select ". What should I be looking for, why does my code work on one file but when i put it in another one it doesn't ?

Workbooks.Open ("\bankrec recsACHACH.xls")
Set lawSheet = Workbooks("Lawson JE Upload Template.xls").Worksheets("Input")
Set achSheet = Workbooks("ACH.xls").Worksheets("ACH")
to be able to select the "achSheet". The file will need to be selected from T:ACH. This code is over my head and I'm hoping just the beggining can be edited as to not jack up the rest. If I have to paste the code I will. its big but not huge.
I have this that I use on a completely different workbook that lets you select the file, but I don't know how to "make it work" with this application, but the idea of selecting the sheet is what I want.

MacRO: Check If WorkBook Open. If Not, Open It.
I did a macro on my mac to transfer a sheet from one workbook to another worbook. It works very well when the destination workbook is open. Therefore I wanted to add some piece of code to check if the destination workbook is open. If not then I wanted the macro to open it before tranfering the sheet. Here is the code I´m using for tranfering the sheet
If ActiveSheet.Index <> Sheets.Count Then
Application.DisplayAlerts = False
Set ws = ActiveSheet
Sheets(ws.Index + 1).Delete
'Moves active sheet to beginning of named workbook.
'Replace Test.xls with the full name of the target workbook you want.
Application.DisplayAlerts = True
This is the type of macro I useually use on my pc to check if a workbook is open and if not then open it

Open Workbook, Find Sheet That Contains Cell Value From Active Workbook
I'm trying to figure out a way to find a specific sheet in a workbook that does not contain the macro. Within the macro I have a cell which holds the name of the specific sheet I would like to find but I can't get it to work for some reason...

Open Workbook, Open Worksheet
is it possible to write vb code to open the workbook, scroll through everysheet? extract the values from each worksheet?
let's just say, I only know the workbook name, but not the sheets of the name inside. So the vb code could scroll through every worksheet without knowing the worksheet name, only the workbook name(workbook.xls)
If-sequence To Not Open Workbook If Already Open
This is pretty basic I just don't know what command to use. I have a macro that's supposed to copy data from one workbook to another, it works fine but In the macro it open the other workbook then closes it. I would like the macro to not reopen the second workbook if it is already open (since reopening causes it to lose the newly updated info). I think it can be done with a If command but I don't know which tried the following: If workbooks("M:/database") Is Open but of course 'is open' doesn't work, but can anyone tell me what to use instead.
Fill Multi Select ListBox With File Paths & Open Selected Files
i'm having a problem with a script I have (script is below). What i'm doing is running a script that displays files in a certain folder, those files are then displayed on sheet1 column O and are linked so when they are clicked upon, the file will open. I also have a combo box with a input range of $O$O. That puts the values in column O in the combo box. Now here is a problem and request.
Problem first, when I select the file names from the combo box, they don't open the file, all it does is display the file name in combo box and that's it. how to I get it to open up the file? Now for a request, I have another sheet that is almost exactly as the one i described above. The only thing different I want is when someone clicks on a file name from the combo box, instead of it automatically linking to the file, I want them to click on a button to display the file.

Abort Workbook Open If Workbook Is Read Only.
I've got several workbooks that users will be using to keep track of individual projects. These workbooks will talk back to a master summary sheet that has the status of all projects on it. The possibility exists that someone else on the network will have the summary book open when the program tries to update it, which would cause an error when it opens as read only. So I want to do something like this.
Copy From Closed Workbook To Open Workbook
I'm trying to write a macro that accomplishes the following:
" Book 1" is already open. The user runs a macro that lists all .xls files in directory "d:measurements" The user selects the desired file from the list or box the macro copies from this "book 2" " sheet 3", " range A6:I107 and pastes (values only) into "book 1", "sheet 5", "range A6" End of macro.
I want to accomplish this without opening the selected file (book 2)
Copy Selected Sheets To New Workbook
I have a workbook with about 25 sheets. All the sheets are named. I'd like either a Macro or some VBA code whcih, when the user clicks a button will Unhide selected sheets, say "Equip Labor", "Equipment", Proj. Summary" and "Implementation Guide" and then copy these sheets into a new workbook created on the fly (Book1.xls) and then in the original workbook re-hide all the selected sheets. This way the user can save the new workbook as whatever name they want.
Is this possible? The closest post I could find was this:
I tried to modify this, but I'm not that good yet with VBA.
Copy Selected Range To A New Workbook
I have a code that will allow me to copy three worksheets from an open workbook to a new workbook. That works great, but I only need only a selected range from each of these worksheets to be copied (Range A1:AV60). Here is the code I use to select and copy the worksheets, how do I add a range within this code for each worksheet.
Sheets(Array("Req Page 1", "Req Ext 1", "Req Ext 2")).Copy
Copy Selected Range To New Workbook
I am trying to create a method to select the values of contiguous range selections on excel worksheets.
Users will be making new worksheets in new workbooks out of the data from the old sheets.
Currently users make a selection is and copy it to a new worksheet.
Is it possible to retrieve from the 'clipboard', the values from the associated cells?
And then to parse them into columns in a new worksheet?
Earlier I tried this bit of ( it didnt work )
' for passing highlighted text into the form so that I can pass it
'to a new workbook.
Dim PassData1 As String
Selection.Value = PassData1
Set NewBook = Workbooks.Add
.Title = "xxx"
. SaveAs Filename:="xxx.xls"
Range("A1").Value = PassData1
Select/Copy/Paste From Workbook To Workbook
I've been doing various searches for past few hours and can't seem to find out if one its even possible, the closet I've found on here is to copy row to another workbook.
My question is I have one excel book called level1.xls and another excel book level2.xls, now in level1.xls I have a row of fields filled in and in level2.xls I have a blank form which for example I would like to try programme in VBA from the level2.xls file to click a button and open automatically level1.xls then grab field "A2" value from level1.xls and place it in level2.xls field "L4" then continue using level1.xls "B2" to level2.xls in field "C3" and then continue down when I add more values A3, A4 so on in level1.xls to the same field in level2.xls L4.
Copy Selected Worksheets As Values To New Workbook
I have a workbook with 30 some sheets. I would like to have a macro that if i select multiple sheets, will paste the values and formats of those sheets into a new workbook. I would like this to keep the names of the worksheets when transfered to the new workbook.
Thus far, I have been using this code, which does nearly everything i want, but instead of pasting the values, it gives me #VALUE! for nearly all the cells. Most of the cells are using Vlookup and/or Indirect functions to reference other sheets- not sure if this is relevant. The few cells that do paste accurately are either text or simply reference another cell on a different worksheet without a function.
Here's my code.
Dim w As Worksheet
For Each w In ActiveWorkbook.Sheets
.Value = .Value
Copy Selected Data To Workbook On Desktop..
As the buyer edits orders, I have a macro which pulls out all the parts with changes and puts them on a sheet named "Changes" in the attached "Sample" workbook. Since the buyer will do dozens of these edits a day, I'm trying to create a simple way for them to create a list of parts they may want to try and buy from another source.
I would like to add a macro that would open a message box telling the buyer to select the parts they want to copy. They could select whatever rows they want to copy to the "Backorder List", and select "OK" or hit "Enter", and the macro would open the workbook named "Backorder List.xls" on their desktop, (mine is located under "C:Documents and Settingsjerry.hutchesonDesktop"), and copy the selected rows to the workbook, then save changes and close the "List" workbook. It should only paste the values, to preserve whatever formatting is in the book being copied TO, and it should copy below any data already in the workbook.
To make things even more difficult, the macro would also need to copy the Vendor # and PO # from the top of the "Sample" workbook, (cells B2 and B3 respectively), and enter that data beside the other data just pasted beside the parts data in the backorder list. (I have entered sample data in the backorder list to show what I mean.)
Import Sheet1 From A Selected File Into Another Workbook
I have a workbook I add report data to, in the form of imported sheets. I know how to do this with text files, but I'm lost on existing excel files. I want to add Sheet1 from one excel file to another workbook. I got this far, but I don't know how to tell the computer to import the data from Sheet1 in the old file into the new version of Sheet1 in the workbook. So I currently get a blank new sheet.

Code For (Paste Into First Open Row)
I am trying to write a macro that Copies the last row of data in one sheet and Pastes it into the first open row. I'm assuming I can't do it with the macro recorder because I wouldn't be specifying the last row and first row. Does anyone know what the code might be for these actions
Open Secure Website And Paste Username And Password.
Trying to find a set of code that I can use to open a website that's predetermined, and enter in the users name and password automatically. And if possible, open a new email via the website, addressed to a person, and ready to browse for the file to attach.
The code I have is below.

If [$iv$3] 0 Then

Macro To Open Word Table Doc And Paste
I am trying to have Excel 2007 open a Word Table, Select All, then Copy and paste to the open workbook. Here is what I have so far:
Dim objWord As Object
Set objWord = CreateObject("Word.Application")
objWord.Visible = True
objWord.Documents.Open "R:JohnstonOfficeProductionSO COMMENTS.doc"
Right now I and getting an "Type not defined" error and the Dim oData As New DataObject step. Also if delete the code to clear the clipboard, I get an error at the WholeStory step.
VBA To Open Multiple Spreadheets And Copy/paste Cell Ranges
In my consolidating spreadsheet there are 6 columns that show the file path, the worksheet name, and cell range to copy. There can be an unlimited number of rows (each row represents another path). I would like the VBA to copy/paste values from each range specified in each row and copy them into the consolidating worksheet named "copied".
Each time the VBA copies/paste values from the cell range specified in each row it needs to copy below the previous copied and pasted information in the worksheet named copied.
In the worksheet with the file paths etc shown below (named "list"), I would like the VBA to show the Date and Time each piece was copied and pasted. For each path I would like to show in the last column if the copy and paste operation was successful ("yes" or "no"), this is more or less the error handeling....
Open Found Files & Copy / Paste Onto Subsequent Rows
I have a requirement to create a master spreadsheet using a macro to copy set cells from several other spreadsheets and paste them into the master one in a list for accounting purposes.
So far the macro reads in the spreadsheet filename(s) and copy/pastes the cells to the master one - I need to be able to paste the values onto subsequent rows for each input sheet which is where my problems lies. Currently the row just pasted in is overwritten over by the following one, I need to go to the next row down but am stuck on how to do it.

Macro To Open File, Copy Paste As Values And Save As Excel Html
I have a folder containing 40 single sheet excel workbooks and I would like to automate following tasks:
- Open each excel file (need to open the file so as to update it since it gets the data from another workbook through =formulas)
- Copy paste as values
- Save this as excel html in the same folder as original excel files (keeping the original file name)
- Close (original excel file should not be changed ie formulas should remain in place, only the html file will contain values)
- Since there will always be xHtml files with same name need the macro to replace the excisting file
My abilities with excel are limited to functions, no VBA knowledge other than finding ready codes and pasting them in the module.
Since this routine is to be run almost daily the macro should run all files, instead of one by one.
I just hope that I am not asking too much for excel to handle and I hope that explanation is clear.
