Wanted to know if there is a macro that can copy the selection of cells and paste it as a formula with original cell refernce.
For Example :
Copy Selection Cells - Say Cells A1 B1 & C1
and Paste It as formula In Cell D1 as =A1+B1+C1
I need a macro to do this small task for me. Preferably it should execute when I have selected a cell and press a command button. Here's the way it should work:

How can I retain the range's historical color so that when I deselect the row it reverts properly?
have two worksheets, "Entry form" and "Database" in my workbook. I am trying to put together a macro button to find the cell value D5(Entry form) in the column A:A (database), if found, copy selected cells (B5:D5,B7,B9) from entry form and paste in the adjacent cells of the row with the value in the database sheet.

write a macro - Condition: When i select "Audit Round" = "Round 1" in B2 and press a button it will automatically copy data from B5:B8 and paste special value in C5:C8. Likewise if I select "Audit Round" = "Round 2" in B2 then it should lookup "Round 2" in "Row 4" and paste special values from B5:B8.

I'm trying to create a VBA macro that will allow me to copy a formula from one sheet to another whilst keeping all the original references.
E.g.
If the formula on Sheet1 is:
= sum(A1:B6)
then the copied formula on Sheet2 would read
=sum(Sheet1!A1:Sheet1!B6)
You can do this by cuting the cell, but I don't want to do this, I want to leave the original cell unchanged.
I'm sure there is some simple VBA code to do this, but I can't seem to figure it out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently working on a data analysis project (data mining) and need to collect and later analyze statistics for the inputs which control a series of calculations. These statistics are shown in the Statistics 1, Statistics 2 and Statistics 3 cells in the workbook that I attached. The inputs are X,Y; all possible values for these inputs are listed in the N,O columns. Basically I need a macro which would take the values from these two columns and place them pair after pair into the controlling cells (K3, L3), then it would copy cells H2 through L3 (updated stats) to a new sheet after each copy operation - so that I will finally have a list of statistics for all of the input pairs.

I have a backup of this sheet- I'd like to copy the backup sheet into the workbook. The problem is that the formulas, which reference other worksheets within the workbook, are copied over as links to the backup workbook instead of the new workbook they are being copied too. This seems simple, but how do I copy the worksheet and the references without having to go through all of the references by hand to only apply to the local book.

I am carrying out some sensitivity testing on a model, and would like to greatly increase the speed of the process by being able to call in from a user defined cell a named range, which is then pasted to the right of the cell.

i am writing a custom copy/paste routine which will paste data from a selection if the cell being pasted to is not locked.
The user will select the text for coping and then launch the routine.
The routine will query for destination cell and then process the paste.

What I need to know is how to increment the dest reference so it is in the same 'relative' position from the initial dest that c (from the selection) is in or is there a better way to do this?
I've searched for a solution on the board and the internet too but to no avail; I am trying to create a macro that will select the entire column based on a cell reference G1 which is infact a Date.
Column G to Column S are pre-defined with a specific Date in row 8. If the Date in one of these columns (G8 to S8) match with the Date in cell G1, say it finds a match with H8, then I want to copy the range F14:F2000 and paste as values in range H14:H2000. The possibility of a match found is limited to a single columns from G to S.
I have lets say 12 months of data. I have formulas that reference the latest 6 months. When I insert a new column to input a new month, how can I make the formulas include the new months without manually updating them.
EXAMPLE:
12 months of data exist in cells B3:M3 going from B3(oldest) to M3(newest). Formulas reference latest 6 months of data in cells H3:M3. When a new month hits, I insert a column after column M.I would like the formulas to now reference cells I3:N3 which is now the newest 6 months.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using vlookup to get some data from one shhet in my workbook onto the front sheet
so I have a search box and the vlookup duly does as it should and gets me the data into E28:E100 and fills the cells to the right with corresponding data for each item
Now I select any cell from the first column of the search results I want and it gets pasted into the next empty cell range C4:C22 all this works a treat thanks to lots of help from mr excel. What I want to do (without any more vlookups) is pick up the corresponding cells to the right of the selected cell and paste them into the cells to the right of the pasted cell. I cant do it all at once because there is a different amount of columns between the select area and the paste area... hope this is clear

I am creating a spreadsheet which creates a bulk of data from a front sheet.
The question is:
Is there a way to automatically copy a fixed formula for 100 cells using one fixed cell reference such as $A$1 and then automatically after 100 cells replace $A$1 with $A$2, after another 100 with $A$3 and so on?
Explanation with Example:
For example, Sheet1 contains the words "Green Tree" in Cell A1 and Sheet2 will then place "Green Tree" into 100 different sentences such as:
Plant a Green Tree
Grow a Green Tree today
This would be created with the formula ="Grow a "&'Sheet1'!$A$1& " today"
After 100 different variations using the formula I want to change that formula to reference cell A2 on Sheet1.
I know if I place "Red Tree" in Cell A2 and use the formula ="Grow a "&'Sheet1'!$A$2& " today" I can do this manually using find and replace for the 100 cells, but I want to do this for 100 different variations of Green Tree to create a 10,000 different sentences so I'd need to find and replace 100 times!
I have a macro that loops through several workbooks and copies data to one common sheet. Works great with one flaw that I have not been able to resolve. I am using the End Property example below, this works great as long as there are more than one cell with data. With one cell having data this takes you to the bottom of the sheet.

Need code to select from a specific cell to the last cell in that column with data where when the selected cell is the only one with data that would be the only cell selected.
We have many spreadsheets in my lab. We have been using them for YEARS. Two days ago we ran into a bizarre problem. If we copy a formula and paste into adjoining cells we get the following

If you copy Range("B1") and Paste it to Range("B2:B3") you get 100, 100, 100 NOT 100, 150, 200. If you click on range("B2") it says =A2*10 but the value 150 does not appear in the cell. If you manually type a formula into each line, the results are what one would expect. If I open a new workbook, copying and pasting works as always.
I was asked about if i can copy defined cells when i checked its checkbox by using vba button , and another button in another book to paste those cells .
Mention that i may select more than one checkbox in copying and when i would paste these checkboxes , they would be in queue.

I'm preparing an accounting model for my office use. How to solve the copying of formula to all other cells.
The detail is here:
Sheet 1:
1) I've entered a number 1000 in L2
Sheet 2:
1) I've entered a values in columns D,E,F,G
2) Calculations :
at G2 : the formula is =D2*Sheet1!L2
The problem is when I Copy the formula in G2 through G3, G4, G5........... it changes to =D3*Sheet1!L3, =D4*ValidData!L4, =D5*ValidData!L5 and so on... but it should be =D3*Sheet1!L2, =D4*ValidData!L2, =D5*ValidData!L2, so that the L2 value shall be constant for calculations in all cells.
I would like to copy a formula in a cell and then paste only the text of the formula, but I can't figure it out. Basically, I would like to avoid going into the cells and absolute referencing or hitting F2, then copying the text.
When I hit "Ctrl C" to copy the cell, then hit "Alt/E/S/F/Enter" to paste the formula, it is just like a regular copy/paste formula-wise in that the references move.
I have an excel workbook that has many spreadsheets (each one sheet has a client name)I have another excel workbook that has these client names on one sheet (on a list) and next to every name I have a number (i.e total turnover of the year).

I want this sum to be added to every sheet of this workbook. each sheet refers to a client, so $J$81, $J$197 etc must be changed for the correct cell that refers to the name of the client. The tab names are alphabetical and so s the list.
Is there any way to do it, without re-entering the formula to each one?
I'm trying to find a way to search a second sheet in a workbook for specific criteria outlined in a first sheet (in my attached example, from A3 downwards within the 'list of search criteria' sheet), and then to copy any secondary data found against a successful search match to the original sheet, transposed against its corresponding matched search term.
As you can see in the example, the search term 'bindi' (A4 in the 'list of search criteria' sheet) appears in the 'data' sheet 3 times - the secondary data for these occurences ('feathery', 'Fibonacci', 'glassy') is copied to the 'bindi' row on the first sheet and is offset with each copy to produce a transposed-esque effect of copy and paste.
If it's any help, there are a maximum of 9 matches for a single search term in the real document.

If I have a cell lets say A1 with a formula in it say "=A2" how do I copy A1 into A3 so that A3 will contain the text =A2 (and not the formula)?

o21 has formula =IF(J21>=U21,1,"")
022 has formula =IF(J22>=U22,1,"")
and basically u21 and u22 are "=s20"
so may i know what formula i should use to simplify o21 and o22 so that i do not need to use u21 and u22

I have a sheet that has columns from A to BS, and the column headers start in Row two.
I need to 1st filter the data by Column E where the data in Column E should not contain a particular Value, like"Sleeve".
Then it needs to copy the Columns A,D,G, BN, BO, BP,BP,BR & BS.
And it needs to delete Rows 3 & 4 from the current sheet, before pasting it in a new sheet.
And at the bottom of the sheet it needs to give me a count of the rows and the month end date for each month.
