I have a workbook that has ben imported into excel and I need to extract the Cabinet sizes (red text) from ColumnC On Sheet2 leaving out the rest of the info. I have a button on the home sheet that has the code that I am running to generate this report it will do most of what I want but I am stuck at extracting the cabinet sizes.

The data is coming from the SheetComponetListing worksheet and going to Sheet2. I have manually created the end result that I am looking for on the CabinetSize worksheet. [URL]....

Code To Look For Data - When Found Remove To Another Sheet

I have a file that I want a code to look for certain data and when found move the row to another sheet. The code needs to look at the active sheet because the name of the sheet will be different everytime I use it. It will also need to create another sheet named 'Online' that these rows are moved to.

The code will need to look for data that begins with either OAP, MCP, CPP, F4P, VAP, VWP, ITP and MEP. These will be followed by numbers i.e MCP123456. Once these are found I need the entire row removed to the created sheet.

The columns that these numbers will be in will vary on each file I use it on so it needs to look at the entire sheet rather than specific columns.

Also any cell that has data that begins with either MH and JD followed by 6 numbers that row needs deleting completely.

Code To Remove Extra Spaces From Data.

I have a macro which opens one excel file, then copies the data into another, dead easy. However the first file is 'downloaded' from a bespoke package, where (for whatever reason) the package appends a number of spaces (" ") after data in one of the columns,

So sometimes the data will contain one, ten or more extra spaces (no telling how many) ie, it could look like "AB ", "AB ", or "AB " etc

Ideally What i need is a small bit of code that once the data has been imported to my sheet it can run and 'strip' extra spaces from the column, lets say column f, to leave all the data in this column to look like:

"AB"
"AF"
"CD1"
"VFE"

I am drawing a blank, any simple lines of code?

Vba Code To Extract And Clean Data Based On A Set String Ending

I would like to extract competition naps from the competition entries and then remove the string ending "nap" from the data so it can be pasted to another sheet in it's 'clean' format.

on the example sheet column B will always be the first column and the range will extend to either G,H or I (always the max range as there are always 6 to 8 races)

i would like the code to search through these columns of data and find the cell ending in 'nap' then to return this in column i, once done remove 'nap' ending from both the source cell and column i.

once done to then go through all the rows and do similar

the end result would be all naps returned into cell j and all the 'nap' endings through the data range B to I (max) to be removed to leave the horses name only.

in book 3 the first row nap was sommersturm so i have shown the outcome i would like with the nap ending in I1 removed and the horse name returned in J1 again minus 'nap' ending.

the data will always be clean with no leading/trailing/excessive spaces and always be lower case too. sometimes a space is not in between horse name and nap but it's always last 3 characters i want removed still.

I have a folder with multiples excel sheets

Destination : C: Project CustomerExcel

I would like to extract and compile the information contained in these cells:
a5,c5,a6,c6,c7,a14,g14,e16,g16,e18,i18,a20,g20,h22,j22,h24,l24 all the sheets.

New sheet would contain the information of each sheet eg. Column A2= file name

And Row B2 to R2 or whatever will be the corresponding cells mentioned above for each cell. The code I have only brings back the file name but only a5 from the range but not the rest.

Getting Rid Of Unwanted Data

Each week I import some data into my workbook (its financial-imports stock names, identiy codes and stock type). I've added a formula which calculates the credit ratings of each stock type, and then conditional formatting to highlight any credit ratings which are less than my required rating.

Further to this I need to get rid off all the rows which which have an stock type "No Asset Class". I cant use auto-filter because there are too many other stock types which I need to be included.

Clean Data - Removing Unwanted Characters

I have an excel sheet with approx 30,000 rows of data.

These are all keyword phrases.

They can be related to any subject, but for this example these are related to the root keyword phrase of "car Rent"

I have some software which basically pulls in keyword phrases from search engines and meta tags etc, including misspelled keyword phrases.

My problem;

The data is uncleaned.

In other words there might be I think it's called "Carriage return" data in there, so the row of data might be very deep (Instead of a row height of say 10.5 it could be anything, IE some could be 100 or 200 even).

There are unwanted characters, for example; ()[]{}+?!""^*

(If it could delete all unwanted characters except for letters/digits)
There is a problem I see, that if it removes _ or - between words, that it will join the words together which won't be of any use. If it deletes anything with a letter either side of it or a letter and digit, or 2 digits, 1 either side it would then need to add a space to replace the hyphen.

So for example; if there was a phrase in the list like ....

I have a sheet for addresses (Column 1 = Name, Column 2 = Address line 1, Column 3 = City, Column 4 = Postcode) and I run a macro that Filters that data based on the the city to different Tabs. This works fine except that sometimes, once the data is filtered I will find one or two addresses on my new filtered sheets that I really wanted to exclude. As my main address Tab information changes regularly, Ideally, I would like to see the Item on the City filtersheet, Double click it, and this would have the effect of deleting it from the City filtersheet but also copying it to an "Exclusions" Sheet which I could use before I run my normal filter macro to filter out these bad addresses.

Created Chart Grabbing Unwanted Data Series (VBA)

My code inserts charts and then assigns them data series. The problem is that sometimes it likes to grab 5 or 6 extra sets of data series and throw them in there too. I've done some research and it seems that Excel likes to guess what data is going in to a chart when you first add it in and grab some of that, rather than just waiting for me to assign it the data. The sheet I'm doing this on has multiple sets of similar data along row 1, the code crawls row 1 and creates a new chart for each set of station data it finds.

I'm having a hard time making this maro work in Excel 2010.

I need it to filter out the items "AR", "BATCH", and the line of "Total:*" where the * is a total amount of any given number dependant on the day.

Text File Import Produces Unwanted Blank Lines Between Rows Of Data

After doing some searching I found a macro here which imports multiple text files into one workbook, keeping each text file as a seperate worksheet, each worksheet named the same as the original file name (minus the .txt extension).

However, it adds a blank line between each line of text. So I get this:


Pinging 172.27.133.29 with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 172.27.133.29: bytes=32 time=232ms TTL=62

Reply from 172.27.133.29: bytes=32 time=62ms TTL=62

Reply from 172.27.133.29: bytes=32 time=65ms TTL=62

instead of this:........

This doesn't happen when I use the import wizard, or when I just open the file from the File -> Open menu.

My text files are always the same format (number of lines, etc.), so it's easy to delimit and insert forumlae as needed, but those extra lines are breaking a macro I've previously written to parse the data.

How To Remove Data Connection But Preserve Data

If I run this vba it removes the external data connection to the pivot table:

ActiveWorkbook.Connections("EXAMPLE").Delete

When I attempt to drill down into the pivot table it states the data connection was removed.

Is there a way to remove the data connection but preserve the data in the pivot cache?

It's probably possible to store the data somewhere else in the document and link the pivot table up to it but that seems cumbersome.
