I have a little over 100 workbooks which I will receive back from customers and in column A of another workbook I have the names of those workbooks.
Not all workbooks will come in at the same time, but I would like, as we receive the workbooks, retrieve the value from cell H19 from the available workbooks according to the name in column A and place the value in column B.
I've looked into Indirect, but with this function the workbooks have to be open. If one of the workbooks has not been received, I would like for the macro to skip this file name. All files are .xlsm.
The file will be in the same folder as all the individual workbooks.
I am trying to create functions in VBA and I need to extract data from multiple workbooks. For example, is it possible to sum data(numbers) contained in multiple workbooks using VBA? If so, how do I create that function in VBA.
I have a folder with an unlimited number of Excel Workbooks. Data within workbooks are in same format - 3 columns of data. I would like to extract the Data in the range (B55:B70) for every workbook, transpose the data and append by rows into one worksheet.
To be clear - I want to take data range B55:B70 from first workbook, transpose and put on first row - take data range from second workbook, transpose and put on second row, repeating for unlimited number of times...
I have a folder which contains multiple 'Customer' workbooks (example attachment 'Customer_001'). Each workbook has a filename unique to the customer (Customer_001, Customer_002, Customer_117 etc). The workbooks contain a single sheet with customer information and answers to questions. These 'Customer' workbooks are automatically saved into a folder once the customer completes a Userform and clicks 'save'. Potentially, there could be 100's of customers' workbooks saved in the folder, each with their own unique filename.
I also have a 'Master' sheet saved in a different folder (example attachment 'Master'). The 'Master' workbook has multiple sheets named 'Department 1' and 'Department 2'. The purpose of the master sheet is to consolidate all information from the individual customers' workbooks.
Specifically, I would like a command button on the 'Master' workbook to execute the following tasks...
1. Copy the data from range A3:F3 from each of the 'Customer' workbooks held in the folder. 2. Paste the data into the next blank row on the 'Department 1' sheet in the 'Master' workbook.
3. Copy the data from range A7:F7 from each of the 'Customer' workbooks held in the folder. 4. Paste the data into the next blank row on the 'Department 2' sheet in the 'Master' workbook.
5. Save the 'Master' workbook. 6. Delete all 'Customer' workbooks in the folder.
My Excel Spreadsheet has columns named "Hospital Name | Overview | Address | Phone | Fax | Contact Person 1 | Contact Person 1 Title | Contact Person 2 | Contact Person 2 Title | Contact Person 3 | Contact Person 3 Title"
There is the list of hospitals starting from "Abbott Northwestern Hospital". I have two things in my mind to extract the information. If you click on the first hospital name "Abbott Northwestern Hospital". Below is an example text which I would like to transfer it automatically in columns given above;
This text should go in column named "Overview":
Abbott Northwestern Hospital bring twins into the Twin Cities -- along with triplets, quadruplets............
This text should go in column named "Address": 800 E. 28th St.Minneapolis, MN 55407
This text should go in column named "Phone": 612-863-4000
This text should go in column named "Fax": 612-863-5667
This text should go in column named "Contact Person 1": Jeffrey D. (Jeff) Peterson
This text should go in column named "Contact Person 1 Title": President
This text should go in column named "Contact Person 2": Daryl Schroeder
This text should go in column named "Contact Person 2 Title": VP Operations
This text should go in column named "Contact Person 3": Sandy Schmitt
This text should go in column named "Contact Person 3 Title": VP Strategic Development, Allina Hospitals and Clinics
I would like to use a vba procedure/procedures to achieve the following: I have a folder with many Word2003 forms in and I want to save just the data from each form and then import the data into an Excel spreadsheet.
Currently I am opening each .doc file in turn, saving just the data to a new plain text (comma separated file) in a different folder and am unable code searching that folder for all the text files and importing them into the spreadsheet. I have a two part question to my current approach:
1) I am 99% there with the first part (opening and converting the forms) with the following code having followed advice from another thread but I need Word open and not showing an open document. Is it possible to add code to take care of opening Word in the background and close it again after so the process is fully automated?:
I have directory with multiple workbooks. Each workbook contains multiple sheets (sheet 1, sheet 2, etc). On each sheet of the workbook, there are various data. The data I am looking to extract from these sheets are in the same cell of each sheet. (See data sheet –datasheet.xls). If I can extract these data without opening the file, it would be preferred. Otherwise, opening the workbook, extract the data, and then close the workbook is acceptable.
I would like the assistance to create a macro that will extract data from each sheet of the workbook in the directory at a time until all the workbooks and sheets within the directory are read. The macro shall extract data from cell B5, B6, B10:B20, and sheet name from each sheet of the workbook and copy these data to an active sheet called “US” on workbook, DesireResult.xls. The DesireResult.xls shows how the data should be copied over. Before copying the data to the DesireResult.xls workbook, the macro will prompt the user to enter a cell on the “US” sheet as the starting point to paste the information to. Prompting the user to enter the beginning cell shall happen only once and not for each workbook or sheet being read. The reason for this is because the “US” sheet will already have other data in it. After reading each sheet, the macro shall leave a blank row at the end. The data from the next sheet shall be pasted below the blank row. Note: all the workbooks contain macro and link to other file. When opening each workbook, the macro should automatically choose not to update the links.
I jst need to console data from different workbooks to one worksheet. There are 30 workbooks & each workbook contains one worksheet name as Data. The work i am currently doing mentioned below step wise
1) Open workbook 2) Apply filter on whole data 3) Select dates from "J" Column (E.g 02/10/2014 to 02/20/2014) 4) Then Copy whole filtered data 5)Paste into New workbook 6) Open another worbook 7) repeate Step # 2,3 8)Then paste whole data in below the first data New Workbook (In which we have paste the first data below that i will paste this data)
These steps i have to do manually it takes almost 1hr daily After pasting all 30 workbooks data in one workbook i have to make pivot of it & sent it to my Manager. What i need
I jst want a excel macro that will ask me date range from which i have to pull data from all 30 workbooks.
Once i gave date range will jst click on button say extract or pull. It willl console whole 30 workbooks data from the given date range in a one worksheet.
I have tried to write the below VBA to copy a specific cell to a specific workbook. I have set the folder path in B1 and listed the file names in column E4 onwards. E1 being the number of files in column E. I get a run-time error 91 "Object variable or With block variable not set" on Current File = ActiveWorkbook.name.
Sub UpdateParameters() Dim CurrentFile As Workbook Dim wbOpen As Workbook
I have been given the following code to transfer data from multiple workbooks within folders and subfolders to retreive the same line of data from each of the workbooks and place them in a master workbook.
the folders are set up as follows,
there is a main folder, (a yearly folder) within this are 12 monthly folders (named January to December) within these are four weekly folders (named week 1 -week 4) contained within these weekly folders are the workbooks that i wish to copy data from.
for example a1 - k1
the code i am using transfers the file names but comes up with #REF! instead of transfering the data
I have a long list of data with many columns and I'd like all the information to be in one column without manually copying and pasting each column and adding to the first column. The data has different amounts of rows and columns as well. An Example is below. I'm using Excel 2010. Is there a formula or something for this? This isn't the data I'm using but just an example since I do this frequently.
I have a series of workbooks which will be completed by different people and emailed back to me and I am looking for a macro that can take them all (they will all be located in the same folder) and reassemble them, so that:
a) the header row (which is the same on each sheet) only appears once in row 1 b) the drop downs and formula remain intact throughout on the reassembled sheet
I've attached some sample sheets, basically I would receive back the sheets, North, South, East and West (although they wouldn't be called that) and I would like to be able to run a macro that results in the sheet called 'All', which maintains the dropdowns and formula. I could either start with a blank sheet for the reassembly or a sheet that only has the header row, either could work.
On a weekly basis, I receive a single worksheet in a workbook that contains ~30,000 rows of product sales.
Row one contains column headings that is unique to all other rows. Column A contains the store number that sold the product. There are ~50 unique store numbers.
I am trying to create a macro that will break the report up into seperate workbooks.
For example, assume in column A there are 30 rows of data for 3 different store numbers (say store 112, 386, & 798, each with 10 rows of data). I want to create 3 new workbooks and include the same column heading for each. For example, name new workbooks as follows: "Store 112", "Store 386", "Store 798".
I am trying to combine ~300 workbooks into one single workbook. All 300 workbooks have the exact same header. I tried using the code from thread http://www.excelforum.com/showthread.php?p=696435 but nothing is being copied over. The only difference between my example and the other is I only need to take data from the first sheet in each data workbook. All the workbooks are located in following directory .....
I have a worksheet in excel that has financial data for several departments and schools. The data is across 2 columns and 948 rows. I need to break the data down into multiple workbooks so I can use and existing email macro to send them to managers. There is a unique character that separates the data and I was able to use a previously written macro to enter page breaks which is below, but I'm having trouble using the same unique character (or page break) to put the data into separate workbooks.
Dim PBRange As Range, PB As Range With ActiveSheet Set PBRange = .Range("A1:A1000") For Each PB In PBRange If PB.Value = "***********" Then .HPageBreaks.Add before:=PB End If Next End With
The Excel files all start with Availability. After Availability is the date the file was created, followed by .xlsx So example, Availability041012.xlsx
The file has multiple worksheets, but work sheet names are the same in each file. I need data from the "Car Summary By Product Line"
The data from each sheet that I would like to get from each sheet starts in A4 through I4. There are forumlas in several of the cells so would need to be a Paste Special Values type copy.
So code/macro would do this:
Copy row A4:I4 from File Availability041012.xlsx, Worksheet "Car Summary By Product Line" to a row in the Master file
Then repeat for the next file Availability041212.xlsx (this data isn't typically generated on weekends so won't be a consistent date + 1) copied to the next row down on the Master file. This would allow me to chart data for car counts from day to day. It would be really cool to have the file date in Column J so I could chart by date and show a trend, but I know beggers can't be choosers.
I have roughly 200 days with multipule product lines so copying and pasting each one wouldn't be feesible.
I got a master format in xl2010 to collect data, which is being circulated between my team. members fill in their respective data n mail back the file with their name attached to file name. i want to creat a macro which can copy the data from every members file to master file.
I have an master excel file with 20 sheets with names x,y,z,a,b,c,f,.... Each and every sheet has data which start from Row 7 and Column 2. Now i need to consolidate this data in one sheet in another excel file.
Consolidation should be like
Suppose X sheet has 20 rows and 4 columns of data which starts from Row 7 and Column 2, this data has to be copied and pasted in my new excel file copied on my desktop. Now first 20 rows are occupied in new excel file.
Now code should move on to master excel file Sheet Y which has 45 rows and 4 columns of data which starts from Row 7 and Column 2,this data has to be copied and pasted in my new excel file from row 21, which means Master excel file sheets has to be clubbed to one consolidated excel file.
In All the sheets in Master file Data starts from Row 7 and column 2.
Data range varies row wise in each sheet but column length is fixed to 4.
I am looking for macro where it can generate multiple workbooks with a single worksheet data source. I have this worksheet with data which is look like this:
This data will be places in 1 workbook for each of line with given file name as page number above those workbooks generated will have same information for each line but at different cell position such as: take this example at line 3
Microsoft Excel 2007 Window 7Pro 64bit
This line could be up to 50 lines of data. I try google search but found most about consolidate multiple workbooks to single worksheet. I do have VBA reference that I refer to from [URL] ......
How to put the information from the worksheet into specific position in the workbooks.
I have several workbooks (5) with the same variables (columns- A:Q) but with a changing amount of rows (2:n, not including the headers). Each row corresponds to a date range (usually a week) for a particular person (up to 40 people) plus a few other values.
I would like to have a way of "merging" or "compiling" the 5 "seed" workbooks into 1 "master" worksheet. Where rows 2:n of each of the 5 "seed" workbooks are added to the master without any duplication of the same name-date range combination. Also, the master worksheet should not include the rows which only contain a name and date range but for which all the other variables are zero or missing.
Each "seed" workbook would have a button that sends the data over to the "master" worksheet.
Is this a really difficult project? Feasible for someone with near to zero VBA experience?
I attached 3 files to show you what I mean. The 2 "seed" files are merged into the "master" file. Please note that in the files only 2 names are used, but the "seed" files could contain any combination of 40 some names. Also note that the length of rows which contains data in the "seed" files is variable, although it should not be longer than 16 rows + the header row.
I got a data consists of Invoice number (Cell A2), Invoice date (Cell B2), customer name (Cell c2), Invoice Amount (Cell D2). The data range is about A2 to D 128 have records of 3 months with several customer names. I need every customers details as individual. For example any where i am typing one particular customer name means it should bring that particular customer's entire details alone. Simply as the following table i need the details of particular customer details alone.
I have previously used the following code to successfully pull out IE webpage source code for string manipulation.
Its a crude example to demonstrate the principle:
Public Declare Sub Sleep Lib "kernel32" (ByVal dwMilliseconds As Long) Public IE As Object Sub Sample() Set IE = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application") IE.Visible = True
However when I substitute in a Google websites address into the IE.Navigate command, the code runs to the "Source_Code = IE.document ...." line then flags up a Microsoft Visual Basic error. "Run-time error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method"
The webpage that I am trying to access is a confidential company site, so you won't be able to access it yourself, but starts with [URL] ......
The one thing that I have noticed about this website is the Privacy Report icon in the lower right status window (Picture of an eye with a restricted symbol in front). I don't know whether this is the cause of my problem, or purely an incidental observation.
Is there something peculiar with Google sites that means that the source code cannot be extracted in general, or is this an issue specific to my site ? Does the Privacy Report icon have any relevance, and if so how do I switch that off ?
