Worksheet-like Format For Userform
Jan 16, 2007
I am currently working on a program to create a worksheet-like format for user to insert multiple inputs on userform.
I have tried using combobox and textbox. But apparently it will have to be individual and its very hard to make the number of combobox dynamic and it will also be very messy to have too many comboboxes in a userform.
And because there will be times when the user will need to input multiple rows, the combobox is definitely a no-no.
And the textbox only allow 1 time input.
The userform will have to be dynamic in a way that it has to be flexible depending on the number of inputs the user needs.
What i meant by multiple input is that: there should be multiple of columns with multiple of rows.
The motivation is to allow users to use an automated way of updating a form so that its just a matter of click.
Why it has to be dynamic is because all the users are using the same form but they have different needs when updating the forms.

I have created a userform but I am having extensive problems with the date formats.
My system is set to UK and short date is set to: DD/MM/YYYY
When I used code to add the values in the userform to the spreadsheet, any that contained a date format would revert to the US format.
So I finally figured out to use DateValue to format it correctly for example: ...

I have a workbook with 4 worksheet that store different type of data. It also has a userform that load at start of the application which is to search the data in the workbook. The userform has a combobox where the names of the sheets are stored. when the user selects say Sheet2 in the combobox, it enables the relevant textboxes on the userform and activates the worksheet at the change event. The userform has a search button that searches all the worksheets based on the text entered in a textbox.
The problem: how to search based on 1 textbox. What I want is: say for e.g the end-user selects sheet2 from the combobox, this intern enables 4 textboxes (Name, DOB, Nationality, ID #) on the userform. The end-user should have the liberty to enter data in 1 and/or any of the textboxes. The search should be performed, that if data is only in 1 of any of textboxes then give all rows that fit that criteria and display in a temp worksheet. if say the name and dob is filled by the user than what matches both should be displayed in a temp worksheet. if say dob, name and ID# given so the search button should narrow down to fit all 3 criteria and then display result in temp worksheet. As if mentioned data can be entered in either just 1 or any or all textboxes.
E.g. the worksheet is (Columns are Name, Nationality, DOB, ID#)
row 1 = name: Steven Martin, DOB: 27-may-1993, Nationality: Trinidad & Tobago, ID #: 1234567
row 2 = name: Gary Richards, DOB: 2-FEB-1993, Nationality: British, ID #: 456789
row 3 = name: David Cohen, DOB: 27-May 1993, Nationality: American, ID #: 98765
row 4 = name: Roberto McDonalds, DOB 21-Jul-1962, Nationality: British, ID # 654321
row 5= name: Gary Richards, DOB: 01-Dec-1978, Nationality: Australian, ID # 1234567
Now if the user enters only name as "Gary Richards" and search then row 2 and 5 should be displayed in a temp worksheet. if user enters name Roberto McDonald and ID# 1234567 then it should not display anything. if user enters DOB 27-may-1993 and nationality British and ID # 1234567 then as well shouldn't display anything and should a msgbox "no data found".

I need help with a macro for copying and pasting of cells. I believe this should not be a problem for the Excel VBA experts, but for someone who can only record macro, I'm really at a loss.
Attached is a sample file, where sheet 'Source' is an example of the sheet from which data are to be copied. The other sheet, sheet 'Final' is an example of the final format that I need. The reason I'm doing this is I'm planning to upload my data into Access and so I need to convert them into a list format.
List of target columns in sheet 'Final' and source cells in sheet 'Source':
Column A: Biz ID - not sure if I really need this, by right it should be listed automatically once I paste the data
Column B: B2 of 'Source'
Column C: B2 of 'Source'
Column D: B1 of 'Source'
Column E: row 6, relevant column
column F: column K
column G: row 5, relevant column
column H: the specific amount
So basically I'm creating an entry for every amount in the table.

I've got a UserForm with 2 textboxes.
TextBox1 requires the user to enter a %.
I don't want the end user to do anything to TextBox2 (I've got it set to Enabled=False). I would like TextBox2 to populate in $$ format based on a formula : TextBox1 % x Range("Sales_Price")
I can get TextBox2 to populate correctly, but I can't get it to convert to $$ format. Everything I've come across uses the 'Exit' or 'AfterUpdate' event - but I don't think I can use these events since the User won't actually be doing anything to TextBox2.

I am trying to format a label as a number with two decimals. I have searched this and other forums and see code such as:
Label18.Caption=Format(sheet1.Range("A!").Value, "0.00")
It always gives me an error: "Wrong number of arguements or invalid property assignment"
The word "Format" is highlighted.
I have tried putting the code in userform Initialize and also Activate. I am using Excel 2002.

Trying to take data from a UserForm and copy to specific cells
It's going OK with certain fields (eg, User name) but hit a snag with the date field. The cell is formatted as *15/03/2005 in format cells, but I get odd results when a date is entered.
Initially was getting an issue with leading zeroes. If I enter 1/1/2009, this value goes into the cell as 1/1/2009, not the 01/01/2009 that I expect.....
I was using
Range("C5") = DateBox
I got round the lack of leading zeroes by pasting the actual value into the cell
Range("C5") = DateBox.Value
However, now found that I'm getting the wrong date format! If I use the first method to copy data, I'm getting UK formatting (ie enter 12/2/2008 and I get 12/2/2008), but if I use the second method, I get 02/12/2008!

I've currently got an inputbox (Userform) where the user gets to enter the date. My problem is, when the dates entered (example todays date... 17/07/06) it comes out in an error because it assumes i want the US Date format. What i would like is UK format. I've done everything i can do in excel, i assume its a problem with VBA, which i'm still thick at...
Sub proInput()
Sheets(" Pivot reports"). Range("D7").Value = InputBox("Please Enter Date!")

I have used a database template from this site and changed it to suit my needs but I have a bit of a problem with some of the code. I know how to update the worksheet with the relevant userform text fields and in another project I did I have successfully sent userform text fields in the body of an email.
For this project I want to update the worksheet AND send an email at the same time. However, using the two pieces of code together is causing an error that I can't seem to solve (using my very limited vba knowledge!). The code I am working on is below and I have highlighted the line that is getting the error message. C
VB:
Private Sub cmdSubmit_Click() 'Submit new record
Dim ws As Worksheet, lRow As Long, Str As String [code]....

In the process of entering data the textBoxes get different .BackColor settings.

I've attached a picture of how my userform is set up - all of the code is working fine and does very dandy, even if I do say so myself, but as you can see when I load data into the listbox, the date on the left hand side becomes M/DD/YYYY whereas I want it as DD/MM/YYYY.
All of the columns except Due Dateconsist of text/numbers and these load fine however even if I change the format of the Due Date data within the worksheet before loading it in it still loads incorrectly. Is there any way to format the date to how I want it within the ListBox?

The currency codes are displayed like this: EUR, USD, RUB, GBP etc.
How do I paste the result of TextBox in a selected currency format in a cell in worksheet?
Example:
ComboBox value is "USD"
TextBoxValue is "500"
Cell A1 value should read "500 USD" as currency not text.

A particular textbox in myuserform requires a displayed format of 000.000. I would like the user to enter a no less, and no more, than 6 digits. On tab, the textbox displays that value in the preferred format.
eg. enter 123456, TAB, results in textbox display of 123.456
I have tried ...
Code:
[Private Sub freq_AfterUpdate()
freq = Format(freq, "000.000")
End Sub
But this results in 123456.000

The problem is even though the worksheet cell is formated to 3 places the text box in the Userform shows many more than this. I have used the Control Source set to read the cell value.
The answer I've seen 'txtValue = Format(Value, "000.00")' which seems very neat and tidy but I'm not sure how to use it or where to place it.

while trying to limit the user's input to a userform textbox to no avail. For example one textbox on the form should only be numbers and I therefore want to restrict the user to typing in a two digit code like 02 or 72 (not for calculations). Another textbox I only want to allow the user to input 6 characters in the format letter, four numbers and a letter. If the user inputs the wrong stuff a message box pops up and the focus is reset

OK I feel really stupid on this. I must be overlooking something very obvious.
If you look at the attached userform there are some checkboxes where the "check" has a bold appearance, and others where the check is not bold.
If you examine the properties of the checkboxes in VBE, they appear to be identical.

I have a calendar userform that enters a date into a userform textbox in the format mm/dd/yy.
I am in the UK, so default date format is dd/mm/yyyy but i need it as above - mm/dd/yy
So, when I get a MsgBox to repeat Textbox1.Value (the date from the calendar object, formatted mm/dd/yy) and repeat it in format dddd mmmm dd yyyy, it reads the value not as I want it, mm/dd/yy, but as the usual dd/mm/yyyy - so instead of reading 08/01/12 as Wednesday August 01 2012 it is giving me Sunday January 08 2012 - even though in the cells on the worksheet that are populated from the textbox, the date reads correctly, so 08/01/2012 is indeed 1st August 2012 not January 8th 2012...
So it's the MsgBOx function reading the textbox in the userform wrong, and formatting makes no difference...
Can I fix this without changing my regional settings? Is there a way to set the region in vba then unset when leaving the program? I don't want to have to change regional, and anyway, the program will be used by others who won't know / want to do that.
