I have a Formula question which I can't seem to figure out. I want to set a cell so that when two other cells are above 80 then the cell is green.
If one of the two cells is bellow 80, the cell turns to yellow and if both are bellow 80 then the cell is yellow.
I am trying to create a formula that will change the cell color in a range of cells in the row. I want the color to change based on the information in a particular cell appearing on a different sheet. What sheet the information is on determines the color the cells change to.
Example: I have 4 sheets I am working with. We will call them A; B; C; and D. I would like the color of cells A5-I5 on sheet D to change to red when the information in cell A5 from Sheet D shows up in any cell in column A on sheet A. If the information from cell A5 sheet D appears in any cell in column A from Sheet B then the color will be yellow, etc.
I'm trying to make a macro, which search for a cell value of "Year". And from that cell, I want to make a range selection down to the first empty cell in row B or the first cell value with "Contracts of difference".
See the attached document I want to mark row 50 to row 55, and Column A to K. However as this range is in different rows each time, I need to make the selection dynamic. And I belive the heading "Year" is the best reference point.
I will try to be as clear and concise as possiable and adhear to the forum rules. I'm not a excel wizz, though I know the bascics and am willing to learn, I have a list in column A, in thise list there are repeated words eg the word sugar is repeated in A23, A45, A56 etc. In column B i have condition format so when i type a 'x' it turns the cell color from red to green.
What i am trying to do is if i enter the 'x' in column B in relation to the word - in this case sugar - it will automatically enter a x in all the other cells in B that has the word in there corresponding A column that matches the orginal 'x'. So for example if the word sugar is repeated in A23, A45 and A56 regaredless of where i enter the 'x' in the b column, weather its B23, B45 or B56 then cells i didnt manually enter the x will auto update in corresondance to the word...
I would like to be able to change the color of a cell in V4:AB31 and have the formula in AM10:AM13 automatically calculate the new result. As it is now the user has to press Ctrl ALT f9 for the formula to recalculate.

I am trying to change the color of the text in the second column (B) to the corresponding color in the adjacent cell in the first column (A). I don't think conditional formating works well in this situation. I believe the solution would be some sort of macro.

I have created a gradebook template so that I can keep track of my assignments as I get them and keep on top of my grades. Any way that I can code excel to work so that if my current average in the class ever drops below 70%, I want the color of the text to change to red to alert me that the grade is too low and needs to come up. I'm new to using VBA in excel and not sure how to do it or what to code.

I'm a business/application consultant for ERP software, and generally pretty solid when it comes to excel. However, I've come across a question for a personal sheet that I can't seem to solve.
In my personal budget worksheet, I'd like to set a budget on a cell-by-cell basis. When the budget is hit, I'd like the text color (or cell color) to change.
I.E. Cell D14 has a budget of $200. When I enter $200 in the cell, the text turns from black to red. I've searched through google with no luck. I have mildly searched this forum, but haven't found my direct answer - I have come pretty close though, in other languages
I have two columns. In column B is the date of "last check". I column A is the date of "next check". I would like to have cell A2 in yellow color 334 days after the date entered in cell A3 and than in red color 365 days after the date entered in cell A3. Same thing for cell B2 related to date entered in cell B3. Yellow color in cells announces that check will expire within 30 days and red color that check has been expired.

However, if somebody merges a range, it should appear as it would by default - as if no macro exists, if that makes sense. I've attached a sample worksheet.

I am building an Excel sheet for my company which keeps track of who has done what with a new client in a step by step process. I have it set up so that once a department clicks complete in a box it automatically emails (VIA a macro) the next person who needs to do the next task. Some tasks are done by the same person no matter what, other tasks are done by a project leader which is different depending on the client.
The problem I'm having is that, within the macro, I need to reference an email address in a cell X cells to the left in the ".TO" line.
So, in Column A I have the CLIENT, Column B The PROJECT LEADER, and Column C The PROJECT LEADERS EMAIL. Then the next 22 Columns are labeled steps with drop down boxes, once the have selected "COMPLETED" it triggers the macro and send the email, just not on the ones when it needs to email the PROJECT LEADER, since it's a variable. Below is the macro, how I can have the ".TO" line in the email reference the email address in Column C to the left of it?

I have a chart full of different names which I need to separate them by color when a specific entry is found in a Cell. For example the list has the store name "ZELLERS" + its branch number. (ex. ZELLERS #276 PL or ZELLERS #295 SL and so on). I would like to modify the below code so that It only check for the name ZELLERS and not the branch number. If it finds ZELLERS in any cell In the Range of C1:C500 then color it Red.
Below Code does that but I have to write the exact name as it appears in the cell otherwise it wont find it for me. Is there any way to resolve the issue? I am not an Excel Programmer but Only an Excel user.

I need to ask user to input the row ("rowin") and column ("colin") address in order to activate a cell. The mose natural inputs from the user will be an integer for row and one or two alphbats for column. Say, for example, the user input (82, AY), how do I represent the cell in code? I know I want to say something like Range("AY82"). But I just could not figure out how to concatenate "colin" & "rowin" to make it AY82 to Excel.

I want it to change the cell color on drop down change. How can I modify things to have the change in drop down selection?

I'm simply trying to change fonts in cells based on the inputs of other cells. Obviously, using conditional formatting doesn't allow for this.
For my example, assume the word "MrExcel" is in cells D2, F2, H2, J2, L2, N2, P2 and R2. If I type different font names (Times New Roman, Arial, Bookman, etc.) in the cells to the immediate right of each word "MrExcel," -- cells E2, G2, I2, K2, M2, O2, Q2 and S2 -- I would like the "MrExcel" word in each corresponding cell changed to the corresponding font to the right. I would like the ability to do this for up to 15 different fonts. There will be many rows to this worksheet I need to use this process for.
Is this possible? I'm in a bit of a jam and have exhausted my knowledge of formulas in that they won't work in this case ... I'm assuming I need to delve into the unknown land (to me) of macros, private macros, or VBA.
I have set up a timetable for a dyslexic student and subjects need to be colour coded i have a full page and a mini timetable to filled in.
An example... I want to have excel automaticly change cell A1 to the background colour of e1 e1's cell color is defined by using vlookup and getting the colour of the cell that is to the right of it

Lets say in colum A I have a list of items, in colum B i have a check box, currently the check box is red, if i tpye a x it turns green due to conditional formating. That works fine...onto the problem...
Lets say in colum A i have my items but they are repeated...eg A1, A145, A166, A122 are all the same item, what i want is regardless of where i place the x each check box under coloum B either gets a X and turns green, or just turns green, i dont mind...
I dont think conditional formatting can cut this, though i may be wrong. Ive tried to use the IF function under condtional formatting but ran into problems...
What formula do i use if i want the text in cell A1 to change to red if any entry is made in cell B1.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having some color problems. From A2:AB2000 I have different fill colors for cells all over the place. The only color I need is the color purple which I believe is the color “39”.
So basically all cells except the cells with the color purple change to white from A2:AB2000. I would like to add this code to the macro I have already created.
I'm trying to put together a script which changes the color of the row in columns A:AE if any cell in the Range B7:B400 has the value of 'No'. If it has the value of 'Yes' I would like it to Exit Sub.
I've put together the code below to try an create this function, but I'm running into a few problems.

When the value of any cell in Range B7:B400 is 'Yes' the row changes to grey, if I enter 'No' it removes all cell shading from the row, and I'm not very clear on what changes I need to make.
I've got some spread sheets that I send out. People fill them out and send them back to me. The only problem is that I dont know which cells they've changed and which cells they've left. Is thier a way to tell VB to change the color of a cell if the value has changed

When I click on a button I would like an option to cancel a row range of cells by turning the writing red with a cross through it.
So if I wanted to cancel a certain row of data I would click on a button, enter the range of cells to cancel and then this would turn all of the writing in the cells to red colour with a strike through the words.
