I've got two workbooks, Workbook1 with a list in column a and Workbook2 with a list in column F. I want to compare the cells in these columns and delete the entire row in Workbook2 if there is a match.
A formula that would compare any value in column 1 to any value in column 2 to see if they are a match for each other. If a match is detected it would be indicated in column 3:
I have used the merge facility to incoporate all the worksheets into one excel files. As they all have same heading, I have sorted the data, first by their account expiry time (oldest to newest) and then by manager (A-Z)
For example, system report generated on 15/03/2013, 28/03/2013, 03/04/2013, 15/05/2013, 28/05/2013 and so on and these are sheet names too. What I want is one worksheet called report with the same heading as my merged worksheets and return values where Column C in 28/03/2013 is compared to 15/03/2013 and if the employee ID matches than return the whole row of data for the report.
the next query would then be for finding employee ID in 03/04/2013 and comparing it with 28/03/2013 worksheet and returning the matched ID in report worksheet.
This is the layout of the report worksheet.
Display NameEmployee IDAccount StatusE-mailDepartmentManagerComment 15/03/2013 to 28/03/2013 28/03/2013 to 03/04/2013 03/04/2013 to 15/05/2013 15/05/2013 to 28/05/2013
so for the above report worksheet, if employee id matches the two compared worksheet (15/03/2013 to 28/03/2013) return all value (Display name, employee id, account status, email, department, manager, comment) from the 28/03/2013 and so on.
I'm using the code below to compare columns on two sheets (1 column for each) and where there is a match, copy data from the 'Source' to 'Destination' sheet.
[Code] ...........
The code works fine, but I'd like to amend this, but I'm a little unsure about how to proceed.
The script currently compares column C on the 'Source' sheet with column D on the 'Destination' sheet and where a match is found copy column G from the 'Source' sheet and pastes this to column O on the 'Destination' sheet.
I'd still like to copy and paste the same columns, but I'd like to compare two columns from each sheet, so from the 'Source' sheet compare columns C and E to columns D and J on the 'Destination' sheet.
I need to track only certain tasks id's out of entire task id database. I have 1 column of data on sheet "A" that represents task id's I want to track. On sheet "B" I have multiple columns of data, the first column being the task id's. I need to compare the column on sheet A with the first column on sheet B. If there is a matching task id, I need to copy the entire row of data from sheet "B" on to a new sheet "C". If there is no matching task id on sheet "B", I would like to copy just the task id. Each week I would get a new set of data for sheet "B" (which can vary in length) and I need the ability add or subtract task id's on sheet "A" that need tracking. See the attached xls file for a piece of sample data.
I want a macro to compare each value on workbook 1, Sheet "Destroyed", column "C" against each value on workbook 2, Sheet "ERT Master", column "B". For each instance where the value on workbook 1, matches a value on workbook 2, the row where the match is found on workbook 2 needs to be highlighted in yellow from columns A to H. This needs to be repeated for each value in column "C" of workbook 1.
Basically, when you select Fred and 4, I want to to display 601, 799, 1023, and 1547 in the columns to the left of where you do the selection. (which is not in the same place as that table at the top of this question.
I'm looking at trying to view 1 large keyword phrase list of about 40,000 phrases to another large list.
All I want is a macro, I can assign a button to. Click it and in a new sheet it shows only the rows of data that are different.
I have tried googling it.
I found 1 that looked very good (Not that I really know anything about coding, but I couldnt get it to work.
I'm using excel 2007. As a note the link was here. [url]
I might as well post the code,, but I just couldn't get it to work, shame, because it sounds like it could be what I was after, I'll post it now, but if anyone can help me with this that would be great
Sub CompareWorksheetRanges(rng1 As Range, rng2 As Range) Dim r As Long, c As Integer Dim lr1 As Long, lr2 As Long, lc1 As Integer, lc2 As Integer Dim maxR As Long, maxC As Integer, cf1 As String, cf2 As String Dim rptWB As Workbook, DiffCount As Long If rng1 Is Nothing Or rng2 Is Nothing Then Exit Sub If rng1.Areas.Count > 1 Or rng2.Areas.Count > 1 Then MsgBox "Can't compare multiple selections!", _ vbExclamation, "Compare Worksheet Ranges" Exit Sub
I saw a great code which compared the values in two columns A and B, data such as A123 and then shows, in another column ie C , things in A and not in B and in another column ie D things in B and not in A.
1. W1 has data in Column A, while W2 has none in that column (except for the header row of course). 2. W1 has rows that W2 does not have, and vice-versa.
I need code that will compare three columns in these two sheets. If the data in these three columns for a particular row match between the two worksheets, then for that row, I need the macro to copy the column A cell in W1 to the corresponding column A cell in W2. Finally, I would like an 'x' be placed into a W1 column if a match was found for that row.
The two sheets do not have the same number of rows, but the data being compared in the three columns should combine to form a unique row match between the two worksheets.
I'm trying to compare values in 2 separate columns to see how many times the same value appears in both columns. Ideally I would be able to insert a range function to compare the values in the column "ID 1" against the values in column "ID 2" and return the count of times that a value appears in both columns. For example 2122, 1112 and 1718 appear in both columns and I would like the formula to return a count of 3.
In my actual project I'm comparing 2 columns in the same worksheet. The column are column B with data in cells B2:B10266 against column C with data in cells C2:C18560.
I have the following code to compare two columns and delete adjacent rows if 1 is greater than or equal the other...
Sub LastReceipt_GT_Confirmed()
Dim intLstRow As Integer
For intLstRow = Range("E" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row To 2 Step -1 With Range("E" & intLstRow) If .Value > .Offset(0, 1).Value Then .EntireRow.Delete End With Next intLstRow For intLstRow = Range("E" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row To 2 Step -1 .............
I need creating a formula that matches the values between two separate columns with results from that matching in the third and fourth columns.
Example: Column A contains the first set of values and column B contains the second set of values. The result in column C would be all the values that are in both columns A and B and the result in column D are all the values that are not found in both columns A and B.
I have two columns of data, in A and B. Column A has about 500 rows of numbers, while column B only has about 150. All the numbers that are in column B exist in column A.
(Column B is a monthly product production list, while column A is a "master list" of all products that can be produced)
I need someway to match the data in Column B with Column A so they line up.
I was thinking something like this, but don't know how to do it:
"Where value in column A = value in column B, then copy this data into cells D1 and E1" (so the values line up next to each other)
is this possible? Maybe with some advanced filter? Or a macro? It seems kind of silly, but I just need to have the data next to each other without doing it manually.
I have a worksheet that has a compilation of reports, each of which has multiple columns that aren't necessarily organized in an Excel-friendly way. However, the first column contains a list of "name" headings (titled "Name") and the second adjacent column always lists the actual name right beside it. Similarly, each person has a value heading in the first column (titled "The Value") and the actual value in the second column. What I would like to be able to do is have Excel search for the Name heading, paste the value in the adjacent column (the actual name) in a cell in a new worksheet, then search for "The Value" and do the same thing in the column adjacent to the one where the actual name was copied. The catch is I need Excel to do this and then search again for "Name", skip it, and start again with the first part of the procedure until all names and their associated values are matched. how to do something like this in VBA?
If our work for the intersection of two columns A, B supposed to be output 1, 2 and 3 Required to find the remainder of the A and show it automatically in column C The remainder of the B reveled in column D
Note: columns A,B repeat accepting of figures
To explain the result of the remaining column A is 1, 1, 5
I have a worksheet where I want to compare values in two of the columns. In column B there are EAN codes consisting of 13 digits. In column E there are 5-digit numbers.
What I want to do is to compare the 5 digit number with the EAN code where these digits should be in position 7-12 in the EAN code. Those numbers in column E that doesn't have a match in column B should be marked (for example that the background color of that cell is set to "red").
Example: B E XXXXXX12345X 12345 (match - do nothing) XXXXXX12346X 12346 (match - do nothing) XXXXXX12348X 12347 (no match - set background color to red) XXXXXX12349X 12348 (match - do nothing) XXXXXX12350X 12349 (match - do nothing) XXXXXX12351X 12352 (no match - set background color to red)
There are more values in column E than B.
In all there are close to 4500 rows so I really could use a nifty macro to do this job.
I have two columns with numbers. For every row I want to find out if either of the numbers in the two columns is in a third column that I have with numbers. Does anyone know hoe to write a formula for this?
I have a two different workbooks book 1 and book 2 with some data.
If values of first two columns ( Column A and B) of both workbooks are matching then I want a formula that can return the value of third column (column c) of book 2 in book 1 column c.
example:
Book 1
column A / Column B / Column C
100 / 200 /
Book 2
Column A / Column B / Column C
100 / 200 / 300
now I want a formula that can return in column C of book 1 to display 300.
And the data runs across some 100 rows in both workbooks.
I have gone through various posts but am unable to get the answer. What I'm trying to do is find if a value (text or number) in Col. A exists anywhere in Col C. and if it does, find the corresponding entry in Col. D and paste it back against the value of Col. A in Col. B. To explain better I have attached a sample excel file Ex1. In the file, the entry "sun" in Col A is present in Col C and the corresponding value in Col D is 24 which should be pasted back against "sun" in Col B.
Sheet1 apple pc sony camera lenovotablet apple laptop
Sheet2 sony television lenovopc
I need to compare Column A from Sheet2 with Sheet1 and where the values match, only replace THOSE values in Column B of Sheet1 with those in Column B of Sheet2. Hence, after the replacement, Sheet1 should look like (value for apple remains unchanged).
I have two list of names, mostly duplicates. List in column B has about 30 more names than the list in Column A and I need to identify which names are in column B that are not in column A. Names are in exact same format since they were pulled from the same data base.
Is there a function to compare 2 columns to find all of the values from one column that are not in the other column? Basically my data looks like this: A........................B.................C procedure1...........................225-3 ........................ 25-1...........22-2 .........................33 .............457 procedure2...........................33-55 .......................35-12...........25-6 .......................12-8.............25-1 procedure3...........................33-89 .....
I have another list of data (just the numbers like columnB) that I want to put in column C and see what is in column C that isn't in column B. The numbers will be arranged in a different order, and there will be data in column B that isn't in column C. What I need to do is find out what is in column C that isn't in column B so that I can go back and define what procedure they fit into (that is a seperate process).
I have a database with 2 un identical columns: A, and B. Each cell in Column A should have an equivelant cell somewhere in column B. I want a code that could compare each cell in column A with each cell in Column B. Cells in A that don't have equivelant in B should have their values printed in column C.
I have a spreadsheet with three years worth of data for a property I manage. Each column has cost data for the year and the specific department/cost for that year as the row value.
I have a column between the years that calculates the percent of gross revenue for the specific department/cost.
I would like to find (or create) a formula that will compare the percentage (or specific cost) for the three years within the specific row and if the increase year over year over year exceeds a trigger value it returns something (check me out/true/false) whatever.
The cost items for the property are in the hundreds so I'm trying to come up with a way to quickly see what specific cost items are going up (or down) more rapidly then what would be considered normal.
