Example:

I want the formula to give me "yes" if dog is present.

=IF(A1="dog", "yes", "no") is for one cell. However if I do it this way:

=IF(A1:C1="dog", "yes", "no") I get an error.

Compare FOUR Worksheets And Extract Matches?

I have a Workbook containing four different Worksheets, each of which contains a different number of columns:

"Set A" = 18 Columns
"Set B" = 47 Columns
"Set C" = 47 Columns
"Set D" = 11 Columns

Each Worksheet contains a different number of rows, approx 4,000.

Column A for each of the above Worksheets is, however, the same and contains an alphanumeric string called "Accession ID".

I have been tasked with extracting the entire row of data for each "Accession ID" which appears on at least 2 Worksheets, and then compile them in a new "Summary" Worksheet.

So, for example, if one of the Accession IDs was "ABC123" and it appeared on all four of the Worksheets; the Summary Worksheet would contain the 18 Columns from the row on which "ABC123" appeared in "Set A", the 47 Columns from the row on which "ABC123" appeared in "Set B", the 47 Columns from "Set C" and the 11 from "Set D" all on different rows.

I tried toying with VLOOKUPs etc, but given there are four Worksheets, and in order to qualify the Accession ID must only appear on a minimum of two Worksheets - it quickly become a mess.

Is there any way of being able to do this as a macro perhaps?

Compare 2 Columns On 2 Worksheets For Matches

I know there is a forumla to compare a small database to a list, but can't find it (I used to use French Excel).

Here is an example :

In a sheet, my small database :

(in two different cells)

Value1 and ValueA
Value2 and ValueB
Value3 and ValueC

etc...

In another sheet, my list :

I have a list where there's a lot of Value1, Value2... in one column, and in the next column, a lot of ValueA, ValueB....

I want to check in my list : if I have Value1, then, on the same row (next column) I have ValueA, if I have Value2, then, I should have in the same row (next column) ValueB....

And if I have Value1 and in the same row (next colum) ValueB, I want some kind of "Error" text.

Can't find this function nor (of course) the criteria to use it correctly.

Conditional Formatting Highlighting Data That Matches On 2 Different Worksheets?

I have 2 worksheets. One has locations with numbers, example:

275 Location 1
276 Location 2

I have all my locations on the second sheet, but in 2 different columns, listed with numbers only, example:
271 275
272 300

I have 2 scenarios I need help with.

1st:
If any of the numbers on sheet 1 match the numbers in column 1 on sheet 2, highlight the number on sheet 1 in green If any of the numbers on sheet 1 match the numbers in column 2 on sheet 2, highlight the number on sheet 1 in red

2nd:
If the number on sheet 2 matches any number on sheet 1, highlight green

I want these to apply to all the cells that have numbers (it could apply to all cells I guess as it should ignore it if it doesn't match, I would assume)

Comparing Two Columns On Different Worksheets And Adding Rows Where Matches Occur

Essentially what I want to automate is a check through one list on the Sheets("Notes") in column A, with another column B on Sheets(template). If there is a match I want to insert a part of the row that the match occurred on Sheet("Notes"), and insert it above the row where the match occurred on Sheets(template).

Return Matches & Non-Matches From Delimited Cells Against List Range

In my spreadsheet, on the first worksheet called "Working". Column A, called "Results", contains carrot ^ delineated string values in each cell (i.e."john^apple^pear^banana^grape^love^heart^pickle"). The majority of string values in every cell in my "Results" column match a "source" column of Pick-List Values, called "Fruits" in the same spreadsheet, however found in a different worksheet called "Lists" (also in Column A). I want to perform 3 functions against my "Results" Column on worksheet "Working":

1.) Report In Column B: Analyze column "Results" by cell and return carrot delineated string values for only those that match my "Fruits" Pick-List

2.) Report In Column C: Analyze column "Results" by cell and return carrot delineated string values for only those do not match my "Fruits" Pick-List

3.) Report In Column D: Identify and return all unique values in "Column C" as a List.

Attached is a simple example of what I'm trying to accomplish called " Sorting.xls"

In Worksheet 1, Cell B63 I would like to create a drop down menu, with two options for the user to select - 0.05 and 0.01. I would like each selection to then control the formula in the cells C63:L63, for example;

Where 0.05 selected it computes for cell C63:

then cell D63

Error Checking Routine - Check Range Values On Various Worksheets And Report If Error

see attached example. I am trying to write an error detection routine that iterates through worksheets that have numeric values for names (ignore text names or alphanumeric). Macro checks range on each numeric worksheet E3:E33 and is supposed to report back on the SummarySheet if any value other than 1 or 0 is found in range E3:E33 on any numeric-name worksheet. Code as follows:

Problem is that it just reports EVERY worksheet as having an error when clearly most don't (none do I think in the attached example).

Try changing some of ranges E3:E33 to values other than 1 or 0, it still reports all sheets. Why the macro does not evaluate the range E3:E33 properly and just reports every worksheet as having an error?

Macro To Force Format And Check Barcode Check Digit

My company uses 4 types of barcodes 8, 12, 13, & 14 number barcodes for our products my problem is that I can't figure out how to force the barcode to format properly no matter how somebody enters it if they don't use spaces or put them in the wrong spots, I can't use custom formats because there is 4 different layouts

8 digit should be "#### ####"
12 digit should be "###### ######"
13 digit should be "# ###### ######"
14 digit should be "# ## ##### ######"

these barcodes are in columns L, M, & N also right now 'm using a formula in another cell to verify the barcodes by calculating the check digit and comparing it to the check digit typed the formula i'm using is

I have data in Row 53 that spans 7 columns, but stays in the same row. I want to design a loop to select every 7th cell in that row and check if it is empty. If not, add onto a "counter" then display the final number of occupied cells (the value of the counter) at the end. This is what I have so far, but I get all sorts of errors.

I want to have 1 check box affect 3 others in the following way: check box 1 if checked, allow check/uncheck of check boxes 2, 3, 4 if unchecked, uncheck boxes 2, 3, 4 and do not allow checking check box 1 is linked to D1 which starts with a value of false. cell E1 is if condition to have value 1 when D1 has value of true.

Check All Check Boxes With CheckBox

I am creating a userform with 10 checkboxes. The first 9 checkboxes are user options. I want the 10th check box to be a "Select All" option i.e. if the 10th checkbox is checked all the other 9 options are deemed to have been selected.

The way I want the display to work is that if the 10th checkbox is ticked all other checkboxes are cleared. Also if the 10th checkbox is ticked and any of the other check boxes is selected then the 10th checkbox should be selected.

I have tried coding this up but the checkboxes don't seem to operate as desired. I placed some code on the click event for the last option button to set the vlaue for all other buttons to false. This works but the 10th check box doesn't get ticked itself. When I try to code up the other bit I get similar issues.

Copy Cells / Range From Worksheets Positioned Between Two Worksheets

Let's say I have a workbook with 7 worksheets named, for example, "Instruction", "Begin", "Worksheet 1", "Worksheet 2", "Worksheet 3", "End", and "Data". (in that order)

What I want to do is run a macro to go to whatever worksheet that is in between "Begin" and "End" and copy, for example, cells $C$1:$D$10; then paste as formula into worksheet "Data" starting from cell C1 and then down a list (i.e., copied cells from "Worksheet 1" get pasted as formula into "Data" cells C1:D10; then copied cells from "Worksheet 2" get pasted as formula into "Data" cells C11:D20, and so on and so forth).

But if I were to add more worksheets (e.g., "Recipe" and "ToDo") positioned in between "Begin" and "End" and run the macro again, it'll either 1) re-copy all the formulas from the included worksheets back into "Data" including the formulas from the newly added/placed worksheets or 2) it'll add the formulas from the newly added/placed worksheets and paste into "Data" at the end of the list.

Can create the macro to run based on the position of worksheet, and not based on the name of worksheet, since ultimately there will probably be over 10 worksheets between "Begin" and "End".

I am trying to match data on two different reports. Both reports have month, location and supplier number. I would like to match a quantity on one report to information to another. Here is an example: (A-D are columns in excel)

Report 1:
A B C D
Month Location Supplier # Quantity

Report 2:
A B C D
Month Location Supplier # Quality

I would like to match the quality on the second report to the data in report one. I would have several months of data and want to match on month, location and supplier number. But there could be occurences where a match is unable to be made - for example having report with quantity but no corresponding quality on the other report for the month.

I have an issue where I want to delete a row on Sheet1 if the cell in column a of that row is a match in a column A of Sheet2. If there is no Match, I want it to move to the next row until it has checked all rows with information. The size of the data varies daily. I do not want to check Row 1 either. List Matches In A Table?

I have a large table that gives me the intersection points of many lines. I have used conditional formatting to highlight the intersection points that match by turning the text red, thus showing me when 3 or more lines intersect. Manually scanning the whole table is inefficient as I wish to expand it.

Due to size limitations, I've uploaded a shortened version of the workbook, just a copy with one example of a match.

How do I get excel to locate the matches (currently highlighted with red text) and list them in column I "Intersections" all neatly sorted?

I thought Advanced Autofilter but I don't think the criteria range can search for red text alone.
