Fill Cells (on Sheet4) Based On Value From Drop Down On Sheet1?

I am using the cell validation command to create a drop down list on sheet1. Drop down is created from sheet 3 column A
I would like sheet 4 to be filled by information from both sheets. first line would have item chosen from drop down and the next line would be sheet 3 column B.
It is for a catering company. Sheet 1 (menu) is the creation sheet. I would like to use a drop down list to choose from a long list of appetizers. Those of which are on sheet 3 (app list) and held in column A (1-42). As that occurs, I would like sheet 4 (prep list) to generate a list of operations. A1 (prep list) would reference the item chosen and A2 would be the list of operations (sheet 3(app list) column B)

What I want to do is lets say in the drop down menu I have options Food, sports, Movies. now if I select Sports then it should give me a sub caterory options like baseball, hockey, football and not the options for food & movies as well - so as to make the choices lesser and more user friendly. How do I create that - is it too tough - I am a novice in excel. Can you upload an example sheet with tips on how you did it. I have uploaded an example.

I'm working on a workbook that already exists and that contains multiple worksheets (A,B,C,D,...), each with specific info (each row consists of an item name (item 1, item 2, item3,...)and all characteristics of this item).
We now want to add a help page for each worksheet :
A => A help
B => B help
...
So for each item (=row) in sheet A, there should also be an according row with additional info in A help
First, I used static hyperlinks to switch from the item in A to the corresponding help in A help. However the item list can be extended in the future (meaning rows inserted) and this will cause these links to fail. Therefore I switched to dynamic hyperlinks by inserting names (in stead of the original cell names) for each item in both A and A help. This involves a lot of work since you have to give all the involved cells a unique name and you have to refer to this unique name when you set up the hyperlink.

I'm working on making a spreadsheet that allows me to select an item type from a dropdown list (through validation) and then would copy in a range of values from another worksheet based on my dropdown selection.
The set-up: I am primarily concerned with two sheets in my workbook, BiS and Weights. I have a database of items and their associated values listed in Weights. I have already managed to get dropdown lists of my specific item types using named lists and have put that in the BiS worksheet.
What I would like to do is have the values in the Weights worksheet copied over in the same order and number of cells based on what item I select from the dropdown list.

I am busy with a project using VBA to populate a spreadsheet based upon the data entered into a particular cell. The problem that I am experiencing is that I populate the initial cell via a combo-box which I cannot exit unless I click elsewhere with my mouse. The code that I am using to populate the other cells is as follows

I am trying to make a calendar spreadsheet to enable me to track allowance payments i am due from my company.
This payment is worked out by three conditions - where i am working (7 regions), how many days of the week (4,5,6 or7) and how many hours (<7,8-9 or 10-12)
I have made drop down lists to select each of the values for the three conditions and want to show the total for them
i can total the entire spreadheet for the month up using fairly large "COUNTIF" statements, but i want to be able to show what the exact amount is in each cell not just a complete total.
i.e. i am away for 6 days i get £15 extra, if i am in Europe i get another £50 and if i work 12 hours i get £30.
I want to be able to calculate this total in each cell for that day.
I can send a copy of the spreadsheet i have got at the moment if that will make things clearer than what i have tried to explain.

I am kind of new to Excel programming and would like to know if there is a solution to my problem. What I need is to have a dropdown list (I know how to make this) then select an item from the drop down, then based on the name i select, Excel automatically fill up the rest of the cells.
For example, from the drop down list I select the company name then Excel automatically type the address, phone number, Fax number and the contact name of the company for me in corresponding cells. Is there a way to do this?

have two worksheets, "Entry form" and "Database" in my workbook. I am trying to put together a macro button to find the cell value D5(Entry form) in the column A:A (database), if found, copy selected cells (B5:D5,B7,B9) from entry form and paste in the adjacent cells of the row with the value in the database sheet.

I am working on a spreadsheet for a shoe company. I have separate columns for the size, model, color, and item number of a shoe. I get everything except for the item number from a written document; I then have to find the item number for the shoe from another excell document called the Master List.
I was hoping there would be a way to have Excell auto-fill the item number for me. For example, if a shoe is a Red, Athens (the shoe model),size 12, its item number (which can be a pain to find) listed in the row of the Master List is aaabbb. So I want to just enter in the size, color and model number, and have Excell find the item number for me, and fill it in.
I have enclosed an example. Sheet 1 is the sheet I would be working on. Sheet 2 is a portion of the Item master list, which is actually 50k lines.

I have created a pricing sensitivity for a list of products. In cell C3, users can select a product (i.e. Apple, Elmo, or Bowl) and based on this selection, a range of Prices and Units are then updated and the Revenue for each price point calculated. A few lines beneath this, I have a little summary table that lists all the products. I'd like for users to be able to enter in the optimal price point for each item and then have the Units and Revenue for that selected price point for that specific product automatically update.
For example, if I select Apple from my drop down list my price choices are $5, $10, $15; units are 100, 85, 70; and revenue are $500, $850, and $1,050 respectively. On the summary table, I would like units 85, revenue $850 to update automatically if I select/input a $10 price. This would happen for all the products so at the end I want to be able to calculate a blended revenue mix given my pricing changes.

I am attempting to populate a row of several cells on a worksheet using a drop-down list, using data from a seperate worksheet in the same workbook. The worksheet containing the data will be hidden (I do not think that matters in this case). Do I place a VLOOKUP function in the first worksheet cells? see attached sample

As a follow-up question, as time goes by, the data in the source worksheet will be appended with new items (additional rows of data). As each new item is added, will I need to edit the formulas, or is there a way for Excel to dynamically add the new data? This might be stretching my wish list a bit but I thought I'd ask.

I just stumbled onto this forum while Googling around, and it looks great. I'm pretty new to VBA coding so please bear with me. Effectively what I'm looking to do in this mock-up file, is anywhere the currency is "EUR" in column A, I'd like the relative cell in Column G to change to "INSERT TEXT", else I want it to untouched (i.e. to keep the comment it currently has).

I need to be able to fill a cell in the same row based on values in two other cells in different columns.
Current Layout. Call these columns A, B, and C
I have 3 different states I work with, OH, IL and PA. There are different tax exemptions based on whether or not the class is RES or COM.
Conditions:
State = PA, Class = RES, Tax Exempt = 1
State = PA, Class = COM, Tax Exempt = Null (not "0")
For all other states, Tax Exempt will always = 1
I need the VBA code that will autofill column B with the proper Tax Exempt status based upon columns A and C.
The code I have now just looks at the first value in columns A and C then fills all of column B with that number.

I have 2 columns, the second column has some empty cells in the end of the column
What I would like to do is to fill in those empty cells but only as many as the filled-in cells in the first column
(I have already tried the specialcells(xlCellTypeBlanks) but that did not work as the empty cells are not always "blank" as well)

I am looking for a way for Excel to fill in cells in a column that has data sporadically in it. I am importing a text file into excel and saving it as an Excel file.
In the example attached, I need the numbers filled in all the way down to the next number. I don't care about the text, just the numbers. I realize I can copy and paste, but these files can be several hundred rows long and it seems there should be a better way.

I'm using Excel 2007. I would like to seek some advise on how i may update cells after selecting a month from a drop down list.
i have created a simplified version of what i intend to have. One the 1st tab 'Cash Budget 2009', i have filled up a table with numbers, sorted by months. On the 2nd tab 'Dec09', i would like to create an expense table, to be able to be selected by month. So i have created a drop down list based on the months that are created in the 1st tab.
Upon selection of the month from the drop down list, i would like the cells to display (fetch) the data from the 1st worksheet. It would also be helpful if the name of the 2nd tab can be updated to read as the month that is being selected.

I want to highlight the cell of Column 'A' of excel only when it does not contain the text like "Verify", "Validate" or "Evaluate" in its content if, the value in corresponding cell of Column 'B' holds the value 'Y'. Secondly, the column 'A' can't contains the words like 'Verify', 'Validate' and 'Evaluate' if the corresponding cell in Column 'B' holds value 'N'. So just need to highlight those discrepancies if its there.

Data file with few columns. There are groups of similar ID numbers in Column J. For a group of similar ID numbers in consecutive rows there is only one row that has a number greater than 0 in its Column L cell and the rest of the cells of Column L for that set of similar IDs is filled with 0s.
First for that unique ID group I need to find out which row is it that has a value greater than zero in its Column L cell.
Then I need to use that value to fill the rest of the 0s in Column L corresponding to that set of Unique IDs.
The process continues with identifying similar IDs in Column J and this time doing the same thing for their Column M. I have attached a sample file that shows the data and how the results need to look like.

When I enter barcode X in cell A1, I want B1 to say supplier and C1 to say product name and D1 to say package quantaty etc.
And if I enter barcode Y in cell A2, I want B2 to say different supplier, and so on, hopefully you get the picture.

The spreadsheet I've been working on is functionally working how I would like, but I am looking to improve it cosmetically. I have a range of cells in which I input scores. Those scores are averaged in blocks of the value of cell B1. I would like to fill the cells yellow if they are a multiple of the value of B1.
