There are words in a cell and to its right is a number.

I have a name in P5. I need a formula in Q5 to add all the numbers
next to the same name in Range B4:O46.

Formula To Average Range Of Cells And Copying It To Calculate Next Range Of Cells?

I have a row data corresponding to the measuring of load cell per min and I need to average the values per hour. So I have a column B for the date (from 1-01-2013 to 31-01-2013, column C for the time (0:00:00 to 23:59:00), and D de values per min I want to average. I have to do the same for the rest of the month of 2013 (February, ...., December).

I would like to know if there is a way to create a formula to calculate the average of the first 60 values (to get the average of the first hour of 1-01-2013), and then copy it to get the average of the following 60 (average of the second hour in 1-01-2013) and so on.

If there is no way to do it, I would like to know if I can do it using functions like average, match, index, offset, what would be the best match of those functions.

I also tried it by doing the analysis in another tab and using the function "averageifs" with two criterias: one for the date (example 01-01-2013) and another one for the hour (example 0:00:00), but it didnt work, it show error: #value. I inserted an extra column in the data tab with just the hour (example 0:00:00) in front of the corresponding column with (example 0:01:00, 00:02:00, etc)

Formula: Average Value Of Cells Left Of Highest N Values In Above Column Range

I need a cell formula that will (a) identify the highest N values in an above specified column range, (b) color the interior of those N cells (I suspect that this is not possible), and most importantly (c) return the average value of N corresponding cells, where the corresponding cells are located on the same rows as the identified N high value cells but in a specified column to the left (not necessarily adjacent)

Does anybody know what this formula would look like?

VBA To Get Average Of Range Of Cells Based On Named Range In Different Column

I am trying to calculate some averages. What I have is 3 columns of data in A, B, C, also the "tasks" in A are in named ranges ex: "Award Contract" is a named range - "Task_Award" and "Confirm Updates" is a named range - "Task_Updates". I've attached a sample excel sheet.

I'd like to be able to create a macro to evaluate column A, and for every row in range "Task_Award", give me the average of the corresponding cells in column C and put it in the same range of cells in column B , then, for every row in "Task_Confirm" then give me the average of the same range of cells in column C and place the result in the same range of cells in column B. This is my very first post so I hope I am doing this correctly. I have 77 of these task ranges to evaluate and it will take a long time to do it manually. I'm thinking of a loop function.

Average Out Range Of Cells Excluding Text Found In Other Cells

What I want to do is Average out a range of cells "F4:F343". That's the easy part =average(F4:F343). However I want to exclude any numbers for that average if data in coloumn "Q" = "FMC"

Would that look anything like:

=average(F4:F343)/countif(Q4:Q343, "<>FMC")

I'm also displaying it as minutes in a day so i added *24*60 to the end of the formula and formatted to Number/.00. I've entered the formula and it will calculate but when i enter FMC to the appropriate area the average wont change.

Average Formula For Rolling Range?

I am trying to create a formula that looks for the last populated cell, counts 12 cells back and returns an average for all of the cells in that range. I know I have done this before with some combination of INDEX and COUNT, but I can't seem to remember how I did it and my experimenting is not proving fruitful.

Average Formula With Empty Cells

I have a grade system where I need to obtain an "Average" of grade data within four cells. At time there may onlt be two cells with a value or three. Example: The cell cell cantain a value of 100 points with the totral of 400 point. AS we know the "Average" would be 100 points. But is only two cells cantained 100 point and the other two where empty then the "Average" come back as 50 points. Because I have 4 cells that requires a value input. So my question is how do I create a formula that will give the correct value for the "Average" of data that is placed in the cells. The values are calculated as a total from the grades entered. That total is in F14, F31, F48, F65 - Now if F14 has a value of 100, and F31 has a value of 100 then the "Average" should be 100, but it is not for the is calculating F48, and F65 as 4 values, so the return is 50. The situtation is that I need all the cells for in some cases data will be necessary, but I need the "average" to be calcalated for only the values entered.

Where is the Formula.
=IF(SUM(F14,F31,F48,F65)=0,0,AVERAGE(F14,F31,F48,F65)) - My brain says this is simple but no matter what I do it returns 50.

Is it possible to show "0" zero in the total average column without inputing zeros in the blank cells in row B3:E3 & B4:E4? There are months we receive no boat & RV orders, so those months wll be zero most of the time. Instead of having #DIV/0! it show 0, without having to input zero in cells to compute the average.

I have a worksheet which has various figures for each day of the week however I need to establish the weekly average of these figures.

Due to the way in which the figures are displayed, I am unsure how to use a formula which does not require a range with cells located adjacent to one another.

I have attached a test sheet as an example. The cells in yellow require the formula and I need a weekly average for criteria 1-3. This formula also needs to be compatible in Excel 2003

I'm working on a workbook that will track staffing patterns.

The workbook has three worksheets: Sheet1 "RCS", Sheet2 "HCT' and Sheet3 "Hidden". I've attached the workbook to this thread. The password for the form is "j".

On Sheet3 "Hidden" I have two tables that are set up to collect the SUM of columns on Sheets1 "RCS" and Sheet2 "HCT". I'm finding the SUM of each range by way of the background color. I've set up the following formulas and when the "data collection tables" are in the same worksheets as the original information, the formula's work perfectly:

I have two more functions that aren't working due to the fact that the source values are percentages and NOT plain numbers. The above functions work great for SUM but not for percentages. EXAMPLE--Let's say, 3 sub percentages it gives me the SUM of the 3 percentages (i.e. 85% + 100% + 100% = 285% instead of giving me 95%.

E11 through E24 contains numbers and a few errors (#N/A) that need to persist (the errors need to show).

E10 needs to show the average of the numbers that are in E11 through E24, and just ignore the errors.

I have many columns like that - where the errors need to show and I need to show an average of the number/values that do appear, ignoring the errors.

Formula =AVERAGE(B16:L16) To Give The Average

I'm using the formula =AVERAGE(B16:L16) to give me the average.

However I have a couple of problems with this. Firstly I would like to exclude the value zero from the average. Secondly to also ignore the lowest and highest values.

Example, if the values in the cells are 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 then the current result shows 5, by ignoring the 0 and lowest value 1 and highest value 10 the average should be 4.5.

I learn VBA. I have created an If Then statement that works well when applied to a single cell. The formula below would insert "INQ" in cell "B1". How can I apply this same formula to B2; so B2 value is driven by the value in A2, B3 value is driven by the value in A3 and so on. Conceptually, I could write a non VBA if then statement in B2 and drag it down. But I am trying to understand how I could do this through VBA.

The "P" would stand for PTO and the number behind the slash would designate the number of hours used for PTO. Is there a way to do this. I need a formula that would look at a range of cells (G2:K2) for either 1, 2 or 3.
Then I need it to look at cell O2 for A OR B.

In cell Q2:
If range = 1 OR 2 OR 3, and O2 = A OR B then cell N = "1" if range contains 1, "2" if range contains 2, or "3" if range contains 3.

The range will never contain both 1, 2 and 3 together.

I have a spreadsheet where I want to filter out a row if the entire row has zeros across all the columns. I cannot just use a Sum() formula because some of the numbers are negative and there is a chance it could zero the sum out.

Currently to do this I am using the following to tell if there are values in each of my rows:

Use OFFSET Formula Over Range Of Cells?

I have a table that is 10 columns wide. On a separate worksheet I want to display the last 10 rows of the table - 100 cells in all.

Getting the value of one of the cells is easy enough - I used:

=OFFSET(DataTableFirstCell,COUNTA(Sheet2!$A:$A)-1,0)

If I copy/paste, or drag the fill handle to expand the target range I end up with the same formula and same value in all 100 target cells. I know I can edit each cell to modify the offset -1,-1, then -1,-2 then -1,-3 etc but that's mind-numbingly tedious and likely to introduce error.

There must be a way to have a cell reference another, then copy the formula to adjacent cells and and have the result show the content of cells adjacent to the original source.

I've been trying INDIRECT and INDEX with ROW and COLUMN - but I can't work it out.

when i do

=100*(v65)/v20 for T65 cell and copy the formula for T66-T106 cell range

it is calculating for T66=100*(v66)/v21 and T67=100*(v67)/v22 ........T106=100*(v106)/v61

what I want is all the cells T66=100*(v66)/v20 ... T106=100*(v106)/v20.

I am attempting to create a formula that is including numeric values in multiple cells but I want to exclude cells that have an "N/A" value. I am calculating the blended average price using the volume and price from multiple cells but some cells don't have volume or price but an "N/A" instead. The blended average price should be $68 but how do I calculate that including all the cells...even the cells including the "N/A"
