View 4 RepliesBeen doing pretty good up till now but I can not figure out how to get a combo box in the first blank cell of column A. I am using the named range 'Units' and there are almost 900 of them so I need the combo box.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI would like to put a formula (or make a macro) for Cell F7 (and all the other cells too) in sheet "Budget Sheet" that pulls the value $100 from cell G5 from sheet "Input Sheet" by looking through columns A-F for the account ID "5111100"
Obstacles:
- I (for the most part) cannot change the format of "Budget Sheet" or "Input Sheet"
- I cannot have the formula (or macro) just look down Column F because the actual file I am working with has the pertinent account IDs scattered through columns D-F (it was exported from another program).
Notes:
- I am using Excel 2003 SP3
- If necessary, I can make the reference to "5111100 · Bonus" if that would make things simpler
- Column G will always contain the dollar amount I need.
-I've been hitting the books trying to figure out how to get array formula working on this and cannot for the life of me get it to obey when I press ctrl-shift-enter.

I am trying to work on Sheet 2(Details per person). I want to be able to display all items in a row that matches the 2 criteria (Skype ID and Date) and the items are based from Master Raw file which is in another sheet. I would like to just use index and match.
I've been searching the forums for this problem but I can't seem to find any answers. Anyway, this is the problem. See screenshot.
I want to compare A1 for the values in column B, then return the corresponding cell (column C) in column D.
e.g. D1 = 2, D2 = 1, D3 = 4, D4 = 5 and D5 = 3.
What I'd like to do is; If column C contains data then insert a blank column and shift column C to the right.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a spreadsheet with three columns (A,B,C). I want the third column C to be column A - B (A minus B) for each row, but only if there is a value in column B.
If there is no value in column B, then I want that row in Column C to just stay blank.
I am trying to write a formula where the column header of the row in which a value other than 0 exists, will display for each instance (row) where a value exists in an array spanning 3 columns. So the result cell could be any of the three column headers, or a combination thereof.
I started the formula in P2 of the GL Detail-2012 tab. File attached.
Here is what I started: =INDEX($M$1:$O$1,SUMPRODUCT(COUNTIF($M$2:$O$67756,))). Not working.

I started the formula in P2 of the GL Detail-2012 tab. (FILE TOO BIG)
Excerpt:
Resin Sand Eliminated Segment
- (12,896.65)-
- (6,570.85) -
- (11,503.80) -

If there is any value other than 0 in Resin, Sand or Eliminated columns, return that column's header under Segment.

I would like a macro to do this...If a cell in column G is blank and the cell in the same row in column C is NOT blank, highlight the blank cell in column G Red.
I need the search to stop ONLY when it gets down to the bottom-most row of data in column A.
Note: Any row headers will always be in row 1 only

I am tying to total all the sales for a given customer. This is what I have at present
Customer Sales
CustA 1000
CustB 500
CustA 1250
CustC 750
Elsewhere in the spreadsheet I have the following
Customer Total Sales
CustA
CustB
CustC
As you can probably see I need to get the sum of each customers sales and display this under Total Sales. I thought about using VBA but am not really sure where to start.
If anyone has any ideas how I could progress this I would be most grateful. I am using excel 2007
I have a tab that has 2 columns of data and I want to be able to return a value in column A if my data matches column B. If column B has the text TRUETRUE, I want to bring back the corresponding data in Column A. How do I return all the data in Column A for all the TRUETRUEs in column B? I can only get the first instance of TRUETRUE.

(notice how the lines that match are now even.)

on the syntax of things in VBA. here's a description of what i'm trying to do:
1) loop through a particular column ("N"), and compare the values (if not blank) with corresponding cells in another column ("V"). i.e. - comparing N1 to V1, N2 to V2, etc...
2) run If, ElseIf statements to display appropriate values in different column ("O"), but on the row that corresponds to the row the values in Step 1 are compared. i.e. - if N1 > V1 then cell O1 = value; if N2 > V2 then cell O2 = value; etc...
here's an example (but obviously not in proper syntax). hopefully someone can help me convert it to Excel VBA:
Function CalculateFR()
Dim Col1 As Column = ColumnN
Dim Col2 As Column = ColumnV
Dim Col3 As Column = ColumnO
Dim Cell As Cell
Dim IndexValue As Integer
For Each Cell In Col1
If Col1 > Col 2 Then
IndexValue = 5
Else If Col1 < Col2 Then
IndexValue = 4
End If
Next Cell
If Not IsEmpty(Cell) Then Col3 = IndexValue
End Sub
I'd like a macro that does 3 things..
1. Find the last row (cell) of data in the "Customer Number" column. This search should be by the name "Customer Number" rather than by column letter because the column that "Customer Number" will be in can change.
2. Find the column named "Purple" (also by name for same reason)
3. If the "Purple" column has no blank cells in those same number of rows as the "Customer Number" column, delete the whole "Purple" column.
I have a workbook that usually looks something like this
Category Product No description Price
Balloons 12345 Red Disney balloon .50
Balloons 12567 Blue Princess balloon .86
Balloons 76521 Angry Birds Balloon .80
Kites 23456 A Big red Kite .27
Kites 22222 A small blue kite .06
Banners 10000 Party banner .33
etc..
I need to find a way to copy the category below an empty row from column A and paste it in the blank row in column B . If possible to bolden the text but I could probably work that bit out myself. I'm new to this but have used VBA before to run macros.
I am looking for a Macro that will search a column for blank cells, and when one is found will add text to the same row in another column. For example: The below is a spreadsheet. I am trying to find something that will search through column "C" in this case and add text (of my choice) to Column "A" if the cell is Blank. So Since cell C1 is Blank then Type "ERROR" is cell A1.
A B C D E
1 X X X X
2 X X X X
3 X X X X X
4 X X X X
5 X X X X
Is there a formula to isolate observations in the same column (different values) and also all have the same column heading like the file attached?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is for a template for teachers to analyze student testing data. On sheet4, wrong answers in each column are noted by a lack of a + in the corresponding cell. I want to paste the names of the students who missed each question into sheet 5.
I've done it by repeating a filter macro, but I manually copied the following separately for the 75 columns in the template.
Problem #1 - there must be a more efficient code, something that automatically loops to the next column
Problem #2 - the template has 75 columns, but many tests have fewer questions. I'm trying to find a way to stop the loop whenever it hits a blank cell in Row 10 on sheet 4. I've done it with an if/then in the last section on the above code, but where I'm at now, i would have to add that to the code section for each column. Which isn't that big a deal, but I figure there must be a better way.
The relevant portions of the workbook are attached here.

In sheet "diary" I have data in certain rows in column A8:C10000 that contains values if a certain condition is met. I need a vba to copy and past only non blank cells in column D8:F10000. I first wrote a formula with index but it takes too long to caculate.
View 9 Replies View RelatedExample:....
i m wanting Cell B1 to display true if any of the values in column C match otherwise I want to display false.
A 1
B 0
C 0
D 0
But I can't determine how to get this done.
I have a table with 3 columns. See below for data (ignore dashes):
COLUMN X-----COLUMN Y-----COLUMN Z
Project 1---------21 Dec 09---------$70
Project 2---------21 Dec 09---------$85
Project 3---------21 Dec 09---------$90
Project 1---------1 Jan 10-----------$85
Project 2---------1 Jan 10-----------$95
Project 3---------1 Jan 10-----------$110
As you can see, COLUMN X contains Project Names, COLUMN Y contains Dates and COLUMN Z contains Monetary Value.
Here is what I need to do: I need a formula/function that will lookup "Project 1" in COLUMN X and find the latest corresponding Date in COLUMN Y (for this example, 1 Jan 10) for Project 1 and then display the corresponding Monetary Value from COLUMN Z (for this example, $85).
I have tried using VLOOKUP, but since the data must be sorted it won't work. I tried using INDEX(MATCH), but can't get it to work. My goal is that the cell will be dynamically updated every time a user inputs updated data for a certain project based on the latest date.
I have a sheet that begining in A3 and going down need to look for the First Instance of the text String "Loan Documents" and down to the last instance and select the corresponding range in column B.
Example: if the Text String appears in Range(A14:A32) I need the Range(B14:B32) to be my selected range.
How can I leave Column "A" blank if any data what so ever is entered in Column "B"?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 2 columns - Column A and Column B. I want to count the number of
'YES' in column B ONLY when Column A is blank.............
I need a macro to copy and paste data from Col A to Col B. But I need it pasted 1 row up. In other words if A6 has data I need it pasted in B5 and Bolded. I got a start but don't know how to finish.
Dim ii As Long
For ii = lastrow To 6 Step -1
If Not IsEmpty(. Range("A" & ii).Value) Then ****.Range("A" & ii).Copy*****
Next ii
I am trying to find a formula that would pick out a row from a matrix based on the values in the first column and then return to me each of the subsequent values from that row. I can't do a vlookup because there are a lot of blank cells and which columns have data changes. I've attached an example. The text in A1 will change and cells A3:B5 will show the corresponding values from that row along with the column title. I would prefer a formula to type in and leave in cells A3:B5 but if that can't be done VBA is okay too.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a value in A1 and I have a constant formula from Column C to G. what I want to do is if column A has no value then Column C to G should not have values. If column A has values then Column C to G should calculate the values. I have a sample excel attached. I can't figure out what to do! I've tried conditional formating but dosn't seem to work
