When I hit the print button on the Standard Toolbar, I want my printer to print only the number of pages specified on my worksheet which I previously entered into Cell A1.
Is there a formula or something I can use for this?
I need the Standard Print button to print only the number of pages I've entered in Cell X1 when I click it, (and if I haven't entered any value in Cell X1, nothing should be printed.)
Now, where this gets tricky, is that I still want to be able to override this automatic number printing if I want, by selecting 'File/Print...' from the menu and choosing a different number of pages to print.
I use Excel 2000.
I want to hide all toolbars when I work.
I know how to hide them during a session, but when I exit and reboot Excel, the "standard" toolbar always returns.
Is there some way to hide the "standard" toolbar permanently?
I don't how I did it, but my standard toolbar is gone in the Visual Basic Editor. I cannot figure out how to get it back.

I can start a new workbook and then save it, make some changes, and then then try to save it again using Save As, but the option isn't there.

I am running Excel 2003 and in my workbook I created a macro and assigned it to a toolbar comman button, "Copy Filtered Data". This macro copies the visible data into a new workbook.
This works well but others in my company will also be accessing this workbook from a sharepoint and I discovered that when they open it this command button is not on their toolbar.
Would anyone know what I need to do to have this button load on the toolbar when the workbook opens?
Also, I would like this button to either unload or greyout when the workbook that this button is intended for is closed.
I have created a toolbar button to save a file as a specific name based on a cell value. The macro runs fine, but the button changes priority when the new file is saved.
i.e. the original file is called "quoting_tool" and the newly created file is called "quoting_tool_'B3'". However, the next time I click this button in the original file, it requests the new file as the home of the toolbar button. I have tried saving the original file after adding the button, but that doesn't work.
I've created a custom toolbar via Excel's toolbar wizard, to which I have added several macro buttons. However, when clicked, instead of running the assigned macro, Excel instead attempts to open my already open file?? I think I read something about having to manually change the buttons to refer to a .xla ??? Not sure though.

I am looking to create a form button in Excel 2010 that runs a .tto file. I have an add-in for Excel 2010 called "Transfer Data From Iseries" The .TTO file is a definition file of files, SQL, etc. What I need is a button on the screen (I do not want to try to explain to 1K users on how to add an add-in in Excel. When you click on the button it should open the transfer dialog box and then they put in a userid/password and it populates within that Excel file.
I tried to record a macro to get the script, but it does not record this information. I also tried to use Insert > Object in excel and it works, except that it does not open the data into that specific excel file (the one that you are in).
I have written a macro. The macro in question simply shows a user form. There is far more code within the user form itself. It is designed to automatically format a workbook.
I saved the macro as an .xlam add-in file to the default folder. I then added a button for the macro to my Quick Access Toolbar. This seemed to work great.
However, when I open a new file that I want to run the macro on, the button disappears. In fact, a 2nd Excel window opens up on my task bar. The original window still has the macro button, but the new window does not.

Because I needed to save each workbook as a specific workbook this is taken care of by the vb code.
I would like when the button is pressed for the original workbook template to be opened.
At this moment if I have a blank workbook or no workbook open and I press the button the programme opens a version of the workbook but not the template version how do I point Excel at the templates.
I'm using a button in my sheet to jump around to standard locations in each worksheet. Generally in the active worksheet I have these three buttons working perfectly.
However I have one button that takes you from the worksheet into the dashboard. The problem is if you had scrolled the dashboard around you may be put at your last place. I want the screen to jump to and center on R1C1

I want my worksheet to require validation of entry data before printing, so I decided to use the "Workbook_BeforePrint" event, and display a simple dialog box with an "ok" or a "cancel" button as input options.
The problem is that, as coded, "cancel" button does not cancel the print.

We use web-based software which has an "Export to Excel" option which we all use. The resulting data populates into a spreadsheet automatically.
I would like the user to be able to click on Tools/Macro/Run Macro and then run that particular macro. I assume that this macro should be in the "Personal Workbook" so that the macro will be visible no matter what worksheet they may have open?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a workbook with approximately 260 sheets. These sheets contain financial information. They have to be sorted according to the division within the company, with a total page for each financial division.
I have a code on a blank tab that prints the sheets based on a value in cell B3 on each sheet. (i.e. "VB", "WB", which are initials of our district managers.)
I have an Excel form that contains 7 tabbed worksheets, one for each day of the week Sun thru Sat, that is a nutrition tracker and an 8th tab which is a food library. I put two buttons on the food library to automatically sort it by different categories and they work great for me. Then I put a printer icon on each of the daily sheets to print a single worksheet (in B&W) with the following macro changing the "from" and "to" to correct worksheet number for each day. Screenprint below.
Using "Monday" worksheet as an example I first tried using sheet number 10 as shown in the VBA Project below for the "From" and "Two" and it printed the wrong pages, so I went to the worksheet number as they are tabbed in the file, Monday being sheet 2, and it works fine (on my computer).
It works great from my computer, but if I send it to someone else and they try to print they receive the following errors: When they open the spreadsheet and click the print button this error comes up:

I have been given a workbook that contains say 10 sheets. The first sheet is a summary sheet that will contain a 'Print' button. The idea is that when the Print button is selected all the sheets that's have been filled out will be printed.
For example.
I have a workbook that has 10 sheets to fill out. The user has filled out 7 out of the 10 sheets and when selecting the Print button, I require only the 7 completed sheets to print.
I thought the best way to go about this was to look at 1 particular cell on each sheet. If the cell is blank, do not print the sheet, otherwise do so.
I need to know how to make a box that says "print" which will print out pages in my excel file... What I am picturing is this:
Tab 1 Y
Tab 2 Y
Tab 3 N
... etc.
Making a table as the one above, and depending on whether I input "Y" or "N", it will print that tab...
