View 4 Replies View RelatedI have numbers in a table from A1 to X1. From that table I have selected some numbers in example 1: (44,3,11,20,44,3), in which the number 44 and 3 is repeated twice. What I want to do is to conserve one set of repeated numbers and to change one of the sets picking next number of repeated into the following number. Giving a result as follows (45,4,11,20,44,3) and if possible to put it in ascending order.
The same method applies in Example 2: but instead of 2 it conserves 3 repeated numbers and changes the other 3 into next following number.

I have 49 random numbers esquire 7*7 in the cells B2:H8, and the lottery result in the cells B11:H20, and the result dates in cells A11:B20.
What I want is it possible if I select the cell for example in A11, then numbers are in cells B11:H11 can be highlighted in random number esquire, as shown in the example.
And If I select A12 then highlighted number of this row cells B12:H12 and if cell A13...A14...or...?
I need to generate random numbers in the selected range. I've looked at quite a few posts on the topic of random numbers, but I can't find one that will fill the selected range with numbers.

This array may contain duplicate entries... for example,
let's say this array contains animals.. cows, chickens, horses, pigs... etc.
What I would like to do is take this info from this array and create another where it would contain all the different types of animals but without all the repeats.
I have account numbers in column A. I have 2 columns which contain account range.For example column/cell f1 contains 45555555 and column cell g1 contains 45666666. I have to check if the account in column A is in this range, and if yes ,I have to have "klo" in column B.
The problem is , that I have to check a lot of rows (and I do not mentioned but I have to check other attributes with the same structure as well) and the do- loop-if structure is rather slow. Could you tell me how can I solve this with say arrays-or with other method-which can boost my macro?

I need that array interpolated to say 20 data points but the first and 20th data point must be the actual first and last data point of the array (1 & 9 in the example). I have downloaded the xlfun software but the interpolat function only does 1 point at a time...than as you drag the function down it changes the initial array. Of course I realy have anywhere from 40-60 data points to be interpolated to 100.
I would like to create a formula that will select a 7 digit order number that begins with an 8 or a 9. For example in cell "AI3" I have the following:112972/8517223.
I would like cell "AH3" to capture only the number 8517223. Also, instead if that cell had 9000954 if would like "AH3" to have that number as well. In addition, if cell "AI3" was blank, I would like the formula to also search in columns "AJ3", "AK3" and "AL3" for a seven digit number that begins with a 8 or 9.

The table above has numbers from A1:Y1. The blue number is the target number, which is selected in cell H3. I want selected numbers from the target number H1 going along each 3 numbers on the right to get the number 22 which is after the 3rd distance. For example the number would be 22, 29, 37 and 48, which are all in red. After the number 48 it should start counting from the beginning and reach to the target point H1. In this way it will select 5 and 13 also. In total it would be 6 numbers selected. The target point can be selected from A1:Y1 but in this example case is H1.
The table below shows the final 6 numbers, which are obtained after the results along each 3rd distance numbers.

Lets say I need an array of 100 numbers from zero to 100. I want a mean of 75, and SD of 12. Or the same data based on a skewness and kurtosis value. Can I do that in Excel?
I'm just generating fake datasets for my stats class to analyze.
Edit: I found that =norminv(rand(),,) will work.
I have an array with an ubound of 10,000 because I will be loading a different amount of numbers each time I run the macro. Is there a way to tell the amount of digits filled inside the array if it is less than 10,000?

a previous macro i run changes one of the cells in the range (one of the ones containing a word) to a number value, i want to write a further macro to select this cell that has now changed. when it changes it will be the only cell in the range with a number in.
I am trying to create a list where the user will select which "Lanes" to assign to "Zones" -- for example... Zone 1 will be Lanes 1 through 10. Zone 2 will be Lanes 11 through 25. Etc, etc... I want to make it very easy for a user to change which lanes are assigned to which zone. I thought about using data valuation but I need Zone 2 to automatically bump up the *start* lane if you change the end of Zone 1.
Example: Zone 1 is set at Lanes 1-10, but I want to extend it to Lane 12. How can I make it so that Zone 2 automatically starts at Lane 13 after I set Zone 1? I would like to use drop-down menus for this because it seems like that would be the most user-friendly.
I have a list of Items and the quantities of those items on one sheet. Each item has a section location number as well. (three Columns, Item, Quantity, and Section Location). the list can repeat the same item multiple times.
This is why I then have a summary sheet to uses a SUMIF formula to sum the quantities of a given item that are in a givin section. which my SUMIF Formula works great for. But my problem is some items have the word "LUMP" as its quantity and not a number. I want to add to my array formula so if the item does have a LUMP quantity and the lump quantity is in the section location to put LUMP on the summary sheet. here is my formula

projectInfo is the sheet where the list is. Column AE is the Item column on the projectinfo sheet column B on the summary sheet would be the item that i want to sum the quantities for Column AD is the section location column on the projectinfo sheet the AA$10 is the row and column of the section location i want to limit the sum of the quantities to the formula is in cell AA59 So it will sum all the quantities in the list on the projectinfo sheet if the item and section location match whats specified on the summary sheet.
getting LUMP to display if its a lump quantity. The Lump can only show up if the item on the projectinfo sheet has LUMP for that Item AND in that section location.
EDIT: Column AF on the ProjectInfo Sheet is the quantity column

So if Person 1 is in Room 3, I will stick a 3 in the box next to their name and then can look at the spreadsheet whenever I need and see what room they are in. When I'm deciding what room to put a person in, though, I need to be able to quickly glance at a list of Room #'s and see what one's are still available. So I have a bank of Room #'s in the spreadsheet....1,2,3, etc.
What I'd like, is some way to set this up so that when I put, for example, "3" in the cell next to "Person 1" the spreadsheet automatically removes "3" from the bank of available Room #'s and when I delete the "3" because the person has left, it adds "3" back to the bank of available Rooms.

and I require the ranges of reference numbers to be listed in a column one above the other, which requires inserting new rows. I also need the date & description columns copied down into the newly inserted rows.

I have a text file with rows and columns of numbers ranging from 1-4 digits that I'd like to import/copy into Excel with each number being in its own cell. But whenever I copy/try to import, Excel splits all of the 3-4 digit numbers up into single digit numbers. The text file has 10,000+ columns (each number occupies two columns so I have half of that amount in numbers) and 300+ lines.
Is the file simply too large for Excel to handle or is there a way I can do this?
In the ID column of the attached excel file whenever I convert the numbers stored as text to numbers it results in a weird transformation.
e.g. an ID of 480610141001 becomes 4.8061E+11. When I do the same process in the name column, which has similar numbers, it will give the correct result following the same process.
The format of the text in which I need to extract numbers is as follows:
