Take A List Of Data And Then Subtotal The Value By Certain Groups

I want to take a list of data and then subtotal the value by certain groups eg Toys. I then want to sort those subtotals by value descending. I then want to rank the sub totals
So basically i want to first select the group total and if that subtotal is the highest rank it. Its almost as if I need two subtotals (although Excel only gives me one)

I have attached sample of a series of massive spreadsheets that I am working on.
Item Numbers in Column A
Flag in Column D
Values in Column P
I want put the total of the values in P for each group of item numbers in column C where the flag is YES.
Unfortuantely I prefer not to use excel's subtotal functionality or array formulaes here because of the logistics of how these are used.

I want to delete the rows containing a subtotal of zero and the rows above it related to that grouping.
PO numbers are assigned to the data so the grouping is on the PO number column.
The subtotal numbers are two columns over.
The workbook is close to excel's row limit so I want to eliminate the PO rows that have zeroed out. So, the row with the value of zero and the rows with the same PO number.

I have attached a file to better describe my issue, essentially I would like to count all the 'A's, all the 'B's and so on in the file and have the count next to it, so something like
A 6
B 3
D 5
F 1
In the file I uploaded I have column B as a count of the numbers, is there a way I could get just the final number for each letter, that would solve my problem.

Is there any way to determine all possible unique combinations (or sets) of any 3 strings in a table? I need to make a master set list from a list of strings which could be over 100 elements long.
Once I have a result set, I need to get rid of any groups which have a value contained in another group.
Example:
cells A1 through B100 contain:
Item1 45
Item2 50
Item3 98
...
Item100 75
Result set would contain groups of any 3 item combinations where the corresponding "B" value is within a certain range (between 40 and 80), while also trying to create sets with the lowest possible sum (placed in the 4th column) of the 3 numbers.
One possible combination would be:
Item1 Item2 Item100 170
etc...
I need to list all possible combinations, without re-using an element from a previous (lower sum) combination that matched the criteria.

I have SEVEN numbers and FOUR groups.
What I would like to do is list ALL the PERMUTATIONS of those SEVEN numbers in FOUR groups.
So basically, the groups would look like...
7000
4210
4201
4111
4003
3400
3310
3301
3301
3220
[code].....
...and EACH group would add up to SEVEN etc.
I think there are a total of 840 different PERMUTATIONS available, from anything from 0 numbers in a group to 7 numbers in a group.
I need ALL these groups listed individually .Is there some code that will do this?

I have a list of 600 figures (this may vary) but i need a formula that will look a one particular figure in this list and return if it is one of 5 equal groups. e.g in this example the lowest 125 figures in numeric order would be in group 1 up to the highest 125 figures would be in group 5.
I realise if I limit it to 4 groups then i could use the 'quartile' functions but i am stuck with 5 groups.

I have sales data in columns, the right most column has values in it.
If I filter the data using the standard Filter, I can add only filtered records by using SUBTOTAL(9, filtered_list) and this gives me the answer.
How can I find the 2nd largest or second smallest ONLY from the filtered data without using a Pivot table?

I'm trying to make a excel template that will take a list of names, changes but generally around 100, and randomly separate them into 4 sets of 8 groups evenly.
This grouping would be repeated 4 times, but there are some conditions.
Firstly, the same person cannot be put into a group again with someone they have previously been grouped with.
Secondly, someone appearing in the first or last groups cannot appear in that group again.
I've been trying to do it via some complex cell formulas but they are quickly becoming overly complex and im not sure if it will actually work which has completely demotivated me. Ive not been looking at VBA but am now thinking its the right route. Ive been thinking of having a master list and then have an attribute of who people have been grouped with before during each of the groupings, and also what number group they were in and then checking against that or something, but im not sure if that is the most efficient solution.

Is it possible to use the Combobox ListFillRange to list values from two groups of cells? For example, in column 'A', I have the values, 1,2,3; and in Column 'B', I have the values, A, B, C. I want to list the values in column 'A' along with the value of say, B, in Column 'B'.

way to do this but i have a sheet that is into 5 - 6 thous rows, in one of the columns (names) i sort it by names and then order it by subtotal for certain values.
What i need to know, is there anyway i can take just the subtotal values out and put onto another spreadsheet without copying and pasting it all as there are lots of subtotals and this would help alot as the other info is not nec. just the subtotal'd info. either that or is there anyway i can highlight the subtotal'd row info in yellow/bold text anything like that that would make it stand out without having to do it manually?

I want to use a Pivot table to filter data to show just the studies that contain patients from the 'South' area?
As per example below I want to be able to see all the patients in all areas but only for studies that have patients from the south. I put together an array formula that works well for small tables but is too much with one one my sheets that contains 200,000 rows.

I have a large spreadsheet with production numbers on it. The sheet shows the day and time that each run starts and the day and time that each run ends. It also shows the usage of a raw material that each run consumes. What i need to do is figure out how the usage per day not usage per run. Until now i have been doing it manually and with all the data i have, it has taken 4-5 hours each time we need to update our usage. If it makes it any easier, the hours can be rounded - so long as the usage stays the same. (ie. if a run starts 5 min before midnight, we can assume it starts at midnight as long as the usage is not reduced fro the run). I have attached a sample of the data so you can see what i am working with.

Attached is a spreadsheet showing various stockcodes in various districts with their prices. My aim is to find the median stock price of each stockcode which might show me the district which has a huge variance in price with the same stock. Average can be used on a subtotal, but median is not there. The spreadsheet is an example and the real list is thousands of rows, so I can't manually go and change the range for each stockcode encountered to find the median for each stockcode.
Any suggestions, I am using excel 2003 and can't download add-ins due to my work's network security, though I could do it at home if someone found a good add-in etc.

Explaination of Data:
I have 2 Columns in the "RawData" sheet in the file attached. One says the Campaign No, and the other says the Site Code. One Campaign, will always never have duplicate Site Code.
I want to organize the data in the following fashion (as seen in the "Format" Sheet). I wish to acquire the trends of grouping of Site Codes, meaning which site (by Site code) is sold together, to understand the hottest combinations.
The idea is to see which Site Code sells more with a particular Campaign.
As you can see in the attached file, I'd like to know how many times a particular Sites (by Site Code) was sold with the other. As you can imagine, I have about 300 Campaigns, but have about 1500 different Sites codes to deal with, this activity will save me hours of time.

My data sheet is attached for reference. The yellow cells show the end result I'm aiming for.
After each change in "NAME", I have inserted 2 blank rows. In the first blank row, column A, I want the text "ENDTRNS". In the second blank row:
column A - "TRNS"
column B - "Bill"
column C - reference the cell below
column D - "Accounts Payable"
column E - reference the cell below
column F - sum the next cell down to the last cell before the next blank row (sum range size will vary)
column G - reference the cell below
column H - reference the cell to the left
column I - "Y"
Then search out the next set of 2 blank rows and repeat, all the way down to the last set of blank rows.

I am trying to improve a spreadsheet that I have to use everyday. I have a list with varying number of entries (different length every day) that has a number of columns including a column that contains machine codes (say 1,2,3,4,5...).
Each machine is programmed by a different person (say Andy,Ben,Craig,etc.).
One programmer can program more than one machine so for instance Andy is interested in programs for machines 1,3,5 and Ben in machines 2 and 4.
Every day we send a list of jobs that require programming which is pre-filtered for each programmer so if I send the list to Andy he only sees rows of data with machine codes 1,3 and 5.
I am trying to make a drop-down where I pick the programmer's name and the list automatically gets filtered for the machines for that specific person (e.g. 1,3,5).
I believe this could be done with advanced filtering but the problem is that the list length changes every day and the data is pasted into the spreadsheet from a different CSV file so I cannot define a set range for advanced filtering because it does not accept blank rows...

I have a spreadsheet with data in a table with order numbers in column A. Although each order is given a unique number, the data populates with multiple rows, one for each line of the order, all with the same order number depending on how many lines where on the order (which is generated via other software and cannot be altered). Therefore the data, when sorted by order number, appears in groups:

Is it possible to conditional format each line in groups of the same order number to make it easier to differentiate between each individual order which will still work when the data is sorted or filtered?

I have data with two types of records: those with "orders" in teh comments field and those with something else in that field. I'm able to sort on comments so "orders" records appear at the bottom, and insert two blank rows, separating the two datasets. Now I have to be able to set the range of the top portion. I worked on the problem, and used some of the code in the response to my post. I need to store two cell addresses.
To determine the range, I find the first blank column, then move one cell to the left, then I need to store that column's letter. AFter I find the first row with "orders" in the comments, I need to insert two blank rows and move back up to the row above that containing data (this much I've done), then store that cell's row's address. I need to use the column and row I record as the range to select for the sort. So, I basically need to things:
1. How to store the active cell's column and row
2. How to stop recording, type in code, then resume recording.

I need to sort groups of data by a single cell in the group, compared to other single cells in other groups of data. The groups are always the same number of rows but vary in the number of rows. There is an example file below. The red is the company name and the green is what I need to sort the group by, as compared to the other groups. This example only has a few, the real file has thousands of groups. I want to sort the companies by the totals in green...they are currently in alphabetical order. There must be a way to do this without going the VBA option.

I have a fairly large set of data on one sheet containing numbers for 60 different people. The data is set up similarly to the set below:

So on and so forth until the 60th person. My question is: Is there a way to average the numbers for each different person at one time? What about median and mode as well? Do I need to set up a different sheet for that?

I have a worksheet with 10000 records. For example, entire data in ColA-ColZ. In that, ColA-ColF - Personal Information; ColG-J Group1; ColK-N Group2; ColO-R Group3; ColS-U Group4; ColW-Z Group5. I this case, the data to be copied into another sheet as follows:
1) the personal data should be copied repeatedly.
2) Each Group data should be copied next to personal data.
3) The group's name is mentioned at the top of the datasheet.

I have just looked through most of the postings I could find on the board regarding VBA to identify duplicates. Virtually all of these use the entire column when checking for duplicates.
I am after code which will identify duplicates in column A within a contiguous range of data.
For example there is a heading in column B and below this photo details will be entered and in the next column the photo number is entered.
Finally a number (for sorting) is entered in column A. The photos will be numbered 1 to whatever. So I need code which will highlight duplicates in that contiguous range of data.
Then there is one or two blank rows before another batch of photo details are entered. This means the same sorting numbers are used and are separated by a blank row or rows.
