View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an excel sheet which is currently 1,100 lines long and expected to increase and has a number of dates in columns W-AO representing the dates in which someone has had an onsite assessment. I wish to report in column AQ if there has been any visit activity in the month, i.e August for this month’s report. Is there an Excel function which will allow for this? Im thinking something like having a drop down list to select the month at the top of the column and then the sheet returns a value of 1 for all lines where a there is a date equal to the month selected?
I guess it is also worth mentioning that the sheet is setup as a table.
I'm looking for the easiest way to count the number of occurrences within a cell range.
The formula that I'm currently using is:
=COUNTIF(D$5:D$8,"a*")
This counts the number of cells that start with 'a' and returns the sum. It seems to work fine, but when I try to make it look for more values in the range it gives me an error. For example;
When I want to find multiple values in the range and count them all, I use this formula:
=COUNTIF(D$5:D$8,OR("a*","b*","c*"))
So if we take first line the defect id is 10. The date entered is 21-08-2007 and the status is 1-NY ( means new)
NExt line the defect ID is still 10 the date is changed to 22-08-2007 and the previous status is was 1-Ny and the new status is 03- under vurdering (to be
evalueted)
Third line the defect ID is still 10. The date is changed to 04-01-2008. The previous status was 03- Under vurdering ( to be evalueted). The new status is 10-lukket.
I want to be able to track the time from 1-NY to 10-Lukket.
Now the even more tricky part. As you can see other defects go over different statuses e.g defect number 1000 here.
The sheet I have is 13000 rows and I have a total of 2300 defects

I need a formula that places a "T" next to values where the current cells time is greater than 15 minutes than the previous cells time. The times start in column D3 and I want the formulas to start in column E3.

I can't figure out how to do a proper formula for calculating time. For instance I have one column that says "Time In", the next is "Time Out" and the other is "Lunch Time". My calculation needs to be this:
Find the total hours between the Time In and Time Out and then Minus the lunch time to get total hours worked for the day. The only way I can get this to work is using 24 Hour time format. Is there another way?
My team and I are attempting to track how much time we are spending in each Excel workbook we create (all workbooks are created from a single template). The problem is that we are often jumping back and forth between different workbooks throughout the day so manual entry methods are neither accurate or practical. Is there a way, with macros or formulas, to embed a time tracker in the template workbook that would only record active (when workbook is selected) time in the workbook?

I found some vba codes in this forum which record the date and time in column A when a file is opened.
Can the codes be modified such that when someone opens the file the second time on the same day, the date and time are recorded in column B?

I have a spreadsheet for tracking jobs. Most everything is based off of week # rather than date. I am trying to get the stats page of the workbook to tally the total number of late jobs per week.The current week is taken care of because there is a function that automatically displays on time yes or no and I just set it to count the yeses or nos.The problem I am having is for past weeks.
I tried- =COUNTIF(Table2[On-time],"No"+(CountIF(Table2[Week # Hidden],"<Weeknum(Now())" but that doesn't work. I also tried isolating the < like this. =COUNTIF(Table2[On-time],"No"+(CountIF(Table2[Week # Hidden],"<"Weeknum(Now()) and that did not work either.

In response to using CountIFS I have also tried-
=COUNTIFS(Table2[On-time],"NO",Table2[Due Week '# Hidden],"<Weeknum(Now())") this just returns a zero value even when I have a late job listed three weeks ago.
I need to use excel on a daily basis at my new job and want to become more efficient.

This is a very simplified version of what I need to graph but has the variables I need. The spreadsheet is set up just like this, just extrapolated over the last year. There are over 500 entries in the spreadsheet. What I need to do is to be able to calculate and chart the number of occurrences of TF and Non over time, by day, month, and year. If the data is ordered by date, how can I get excel to calculate text occurrences and graph them over the dates?

I'm trying to see if the same numbers exists in two different spreasheets on the same workbook. Both "asset tags" columns are sorted ascending. If the number appears on both table I would like my formula to add a "Y" (for yes) on the proper cell. Not sure if I should use Vlookup, sumproduct or sumif formula. There is a summary sheet that summarizes the number of members, guests etc. One thing I would like to track is the number of people from ech zip code.

On a separate sheet I have a list of times by 15 minute increments starting at midnight until 11:59PM like below.

I'm trying to count how often a time stamp occurred between two 15 minute increments. ventually I'll be plotting this data on a graph to show where most occurrences happen.
I have a set of data I need to count.
The data consists of 2 columns essentially, Scheduled Delivery Date and Actual Delivery Date.
If the Delivery was made on time or early, I want to count it. I will do a similar count for Late as well.
Additionally, the user can enter the Scheduled date range they want to count early/on time deliveries from. There all also blanks in the Actual Delivery date column where deliveries have not been made (no actual).
Cells O3:O38 contain the Actual dates
Cells N3:38 contain the Scheduled dates
Cell B3 contains the begin date to start the range.
Cell B4 contains the end date of the range.
I have tried using COUNTIFS and am having trouble getting the formula to work.
I tried:
=COUNTIFS(O3:O38,O3:38<=N3:38,N3:N38 ,>=$B$3,N3;N38<=$B$4)
I know this will not work but I hope it shows the logic I want.Count range O3:O38 where values in O3:O38 are less than or equal to the corresponding cell value in N3:N38, for a range of N3:N38 that is greater than or equal to the date in B3 and less than or equal to the date in B4.

I have a somewhat large spreadsheet that is imported from an AS/400 database which shows the number of times something is being used. It lists the object in a row for each use. For instance, if the object is being used 4 times, there would be four rows of this object's name as well as a 0, 1, 2, 3 next to the correct row. Where it is being used is listed in the H Column.
I'm just trying to count the number of times each object is used and where it is used and list it out in another worksheet. Like this:
Object 1, 4 uses, Place 1 2 3 and 4.

In a datafile I have one column containing a trip 'origin' and a second column contains 'destinations'. I want to count how many times each trip occurs (so the same origin/destination pair). This is doable using COUNTIFS but unfortunately respondents did not provide consequent origins and destinations. I encountered the following formulations

Since the format is different among and within respondents functions containing LEFT, RIGHT, MID are not useful (at least, my trials did fail). I found a VBA-script for a FUZZYVLOOKUP which sounded promising. Unfortunately the data is stored on a remote PC without VBA on it.
Is there a way to count the occurrences of trips given the circumstances?
I have an excel spreadsheet to record employee holiday and sickness figures.
It is set on as a grid e.g. column A stores all the dates and then employee names are used as column header.
One of the triggers I need to use is where, an employee has been absent 28 consecutive days. When an employee is absent I simply enter 'ABSENT' against there name.
Countif will count the number of time absent appears in the column however I need it to only recognise it if it is only 28 days in a row.
I am trying to create a table that will show the number of times a registration number has occurred in the last 6 weeks.
I can get it to display the values if I manually enter the rows that are in the last 6 weeks but I would like it to do it for me so other people can view the data without having to change values etc.
so Basically I have the date an entry was made in column B and the registration numbers are in column M. I have tried various combinations of COUNTIFS, SUM(IF and DCOUNT but to no avail! It either returns a 0 or an error.
BTW I am working with

*Where cell O2 is the date 6 weeks ago* at the moment which returns a 0 or the manual formula which is

What I want is in column B to give the sequential count that each number is for that number. In other words in row one the number 4 appears for the first time and so the sequence number is 1. It next appears in row 4, so the sequence number there is 2, and for row 6, it is 3.

In need checking if a particular ID number is repeated more than once in column B. I need to write a formula in each cells of "No.of Repetition" column or Column C to check if respective ID number in column B is repeated more than once and display the count or display a condition true or false.

I have searched this board, found a similar post, and tried the different formulas listed but get a result of "0" (zero). If I try the same formulas at home using Excel 2000, they work. The formula types I've tried include regular and array styles I am led to believe that this is either an Excel 2007 bug (bug??? - Nah, not from Microsoft!), or one of the cute changes between the new and old versions that I keep running across. The last possibility is that I am doing something wrong, which a smart betting man wouldn't rule out either!
