I am using excel 2007. I have data which, instead of being posted on multiple columns, is all within 1 column. The data most simply has the characteristics of:
AAA
AAA - description
BBB
BBB - description
CCC
CCC - description
and so on..
I would like to move the descriptions from column A to column B:
AAA AAA - description
BBB BBB - description
CCC CCC - description
and so on...
What would be the best way to accomplish this?

I have a macro that exports a row (or rows) to destination sheet ("Amber") based on criteria in Column K. Once exported I return to the source sheet ("Register") and the row that had the data that I wanted exported has exported the info but the row just sits where it was and appears to only 'clear the contents'. The macro I use is:
Sub Extract_FW_Rows()
Set ws = ActiveSheet
endrow = ws.Cells(65000, 1).End(xlUp).Row
For i = endrow To 1 Step -1
[Code] ......
I set up the macro on Excel 2002 in work as thats what we have....however when I input the same code into my home laptop working Excel 2007, all works perfectly i.e. it cuts the data to destination sheet, goes back to source sheet and the rows have moved up accordingly - I do realise that the action taken is a row removal i.e. I had 1000 rows, macro executes, I now have 999 rows in the source sheet.
What I would like is the same result in 2002 as I get in 2007.

I need to transpose data from Column A to Row 2 and down.
The data in column A is in sections of 19 rows and then a blank cell and another 19 rows of data contimuously, It is a dynamic range and can contain many thousands of Rows.
The data needs to be transposed from Column A to row 2 (row 1 has the head line for each column) so the 19 lines of data is now spread accross 19 columns in row 2 and the next section from column A is spread accross the 19 columns in row 3 and so on.
My data looks similar to the below. (Test Number 0001 starts in A1)
Test Number 0001

I am using Excel 2007 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
My Workbook contains 2 Worksheets, both with the same headings in row 1. Sheet2 is initially empty, except for the headings in row 1.
The following is a sample of the data in Sheet1:
[Code] ......
I want to create a Macro to operate as follows:
In the above sample data, rows 2, 4, and 8 are identical, so I want to copy rows 4 and 8 to Sheet2, and delete them from Sheet1.
Similarly:
Rows 3 and 9 are identical, so row 9 should move to Sheet2;
Rows 5 and 11 are identical, so row 11 should move to Sheet2.
Rows 6, 7, 10, and 12 are all unique, so should be unaffected by the Macro.
New records will be added to Sheet1 periodically, so the Macro will be used each time to move any newly discovered duplicates to Sheet2.
The Macro should make no assumption about how the rows are ordered, and should not change their order.
I have uploaded two Workbooks, such that Workbook1 shows the original data, and Workbook2 shows the result I want to obtain.
Attached Files :
Workbook1.xlsm
Workbook2.xlsm

We have a client that provided us with a text file that we imported into
Excel. Rather than have the entire record in one row, they have the record
in 4 rows.
What I need a macro or something to do is move award 2 award 3 and award 4 into the same row and after doing this delete the other rows.
Below is an idea how this looks.
1JohnSmithstreetcitystateZIPaward 1
2JohnSmithstreetcitystateZIPaward 2
3JohnSmithstreetcitystateZIPaward 3
4JohnSmithstreetcitystateZIPaward 4
5BillJonesstreet2city2state2ZIP2award 1
6BillJonesstreet2city2state2ZIP2award 2
7BillJonesstreet2city2state2ZIP2award 3
8BillJonesstreet2city2state2ZIP2award 4
What we need for our data to work is:
1JohnSmithstreetcitystateZIPaward 1award 2award 3award 4
2BillJonesstreet2city2state2ZIP2award 1award 2award 3award 4

I'm using this code to find values of "FEP MHS" or "LSD MHS" in column S and if column S containes either of these values it deletes the entire row from the spreadsheet. I need this to work on a spreadsheet that runs on a daily basis and each day it contains a different number of rows. I have used this code to successfully delete most rows that contain these values in Column S but for some reason it does not delete all the rows, typically leaving 6 - 7 rows that contain these values. I'm using Excel 2007 I need code that finds the last row used and deletes the entire row if these values are present.
Dim CelRSLHMHSD As Range, RngRSLHMHSD As Range, iRSLHMHSD As Long
Set RngRSLHMHSD = Columns("S").SpecialCells(xlConstants, xlTextValues)
For iRSLHMHSD = RngRSLHMHSD.Count To 1 Step -1
If RngRSLHMHSD(iRSLHMHSD).Value = "FEP MHS" _
Or RngRSLHMHSD(iRSLHMHSD).Value = "LSD MHS" _
Then RngRSLHMHSD(iRSLHMHSD).EntireRow.Delete
Next iRSLHMHSD

I have VBA code that attempts to delete an entire row from my worksheet:
Code:
Cells(3,1).Select
Selection.EntireRow.Delete
This works fine on small data sets, but on larger data sets it gives me the error message, "Excel cannot complete this task with available resources". This happens even when I try to do the deletion manually (without VBA code). Clearly, the code itself is not the problem.
My document has about 250,000 rows and 2,500 columns. While this is big, it is significantly smaller than Excel's documented limit of 1,048,576 rows and 16,384 columns.
I am using Excel 2007. My computer has 2GB of RAM but even when I try it on a computer which has 8GB of RAM it gives me the same error. If I "ClearContents" instead of "Delete" it works fine. For my purposes, however, deletion is entirely necessary.

What i have is a workbook that can have multiple sheets. Sheet 2,3,4 (if there are) are a continuation of sheet 1. First 2 rows of sheet 1 are headers and the last row of the last sheet (can be 2,3, 4....) is a footer. There are 14 columns (A-N) in each sheet. Col "N" has set status and col I has set names.
What i am looking for is a macro that can perform the following actions in the the set order:
1) deletes all rows where status in col N is "closed"
2) delete all rows where name in Col I is "Many"
3) if there are multiple sheets copy all data in 1 sheet once above 2 are deleted
4) I want to update cell A2, C2, I2, M2 & N2 with Hostel, Direction,Name,Flight & Status respectively
5) Create a pivot table with all data (Col A-N & Row 2 to last) in a new sheet and call it Summary - Pivot
I can then manually select how the pivot will look
Currently i am going through all sheets manually and filtering data. Using excel 2007

I have a public/shared Excel 2007 workbook on our network and someone colored an entire column yellow. When that happened, it increased the number of rows to over 655,000. I didn't know that was posible but they are there... The thing moves very slowly now and when I try to delete (45,000 lines at a time), I either get a error window telling me I don't have resources to perform the operation, or I do smaller chucks and after 30 minutes deleting lines, it will not save.
I would rather not have to recreate the whole workbook if I can delete the lines on this one page.

I am using Excel 2007 and have a simple enough macro to paste data in to another sheet - simple is what I do best.
Sub Macro1()
'
' Macro1 Macro
With Sheets("data")
.Range("B3").PasteSpecial xlPasteAll
End With
End Sub
I am wanting to change this so that before it pastes any data into B3 it will delete all data from B3:AE22.
I have had a look around and found plenty to delete full rows or worksheets but not just to delete the data in those cells.

I have a workbook that has 5 worksheets. Worksheet1 is the Summary tab, Worksheets 2-5 contains data all sitting under the same headings and formats however vary in row number e.g.
Worksheet 2 - 63000 rows
Worksheet 3 - 48000 rows
Worksheet 4 - 23000 rows
Worksheet 5 - 21000 rows
In Worksheet 1 Column AQ contains a Cost Centre number which I would like to extract the parent description of in Column BI of the same Worksheet and then the child description into Column BJ. Worksheet 1 currently has 16000+ rows and grows daily. The location of the Cost Centre in Worksheets 2-4 is contained in Column A and the Parent Description in Column W and the Child Description in Column Y.I am currently using this INDEX MATCH formula to search all worksheets but as you can imagine it's tediously slow and needless to say sometimes not reporting/updating the values correctly likely because it's frozen.
=VLOOKUP(AQ2,INDIRECT("'"&INDEX(Sheet1!$A$1:$A$4,MATCH(TRUE,
COUNTIF(INDIRECT("'"&Sheet1!$A$1:$A$4&"'!A2:A63355"),AQ2)>0,0))&"'!A2:W63355"),23,0) this looks up Cost Centre in Worksheet 1 Column AQ and returns the results from Column W in Worksheets 2-4 to Worksheet 1 Column BI

I am using Excel 2010 and need a macro that can convert data from rows to columns. I have read several posts about this subject but have no experience with macros and don't know how to change the macros to fit my scenario.
Here is what I currently have:
Account...Vehicle1...Loc1...Vehicle2...Loc2...Vehicle3...Loc3...Vehicle4...Loc4
11111......2008........FL
11111......2000........FL
12121......1999........GA
33222......2000........AL
33222......2011........AL
33222......2001........MS
Here is what I need it to look like:
Account...Vehicle1...Loc1...Vehicle2...Loc2...Vehicle3...Loc3...Vehicle4...Loc4
11111......2008.......FL.......2000........FL
12121......1999.......GA
33222......2000.......AL.......2011........AL......2001.......MS
There are up to 4 vehicles/locations per account number, and I need 1 account number per row (the dots above are for spacing only and not part of the actual data).
I could do this manually but because I have so many rows of data it could take days or weeks. Is there a macro out there that can do this??

I have a worksheet in which I have sorted the data based in date and numbering (column I and E). I would like to create 2 macros for following actions:
1- all rows with the value "TOM" in column C will have to be deleted.
2- all rows with a value of 601 or 602 in column E, will have to be moved to the bottom of the sheet after the last row with data. The rows that have been moved will have to be sorted based in date (column I) and numbering (column E).

I have a long (about 180 000 rows) list of part numbers, descriptions, prices and quantities. There are many duplicate part numbers. I need to go through and find the duplicates, add all their quantities into one cell and delete the remaining duplicates. I have used conditional formatting to find the duplicates easier but cannot use the remove duplicates button as it will delete the whole row and I need the quantity information in each row.
Any formula or macro I can set up to search the part number column (F) for duplicates and add the figures in the quantity column (J) and THEN delete the duplicate part number rows?
Maybe I need to put the new combined information in another sheet?

I have a sheet that holds my inventory and has 3 colums. The colums are serialnumber, techid and date. I also have a sheet for each techid. Is there a way to delete/move a row of data if the serialnumber is entered on another sheet.
example.
I have a serialnumber added to my first sheet. I go to a techid sheet and enter that same serial number. Is there a way to copy the entire row the same serialnumber is on and copy to the current sheet? Possibly a search function where I enter a serialnumber and it finds the same thing on the main sheet and copies the rows into the current sheet.

I am trying to create a macro the looks at column A and moves the entire row to another worksheet or deletes the entire row based off of the value in each cell. Right now I have the Macro replace the downloaded values to either AG, G, GI, ICP, IMG or delete. The idea be to move all of the values with AG in column A to the AG worksheet, move G to the G worksheet, etc.. and then delete all of those with delete in the cell.

Problem: We have some rather large excel spreadsheets (142,000 rows, 190 columns) and some users that need to delete the data from rows of cells 5,000 rows + at a time. When doing this machines jump in CPU, Excel goes "not responding" and on average comes back to life 1 minute 45 seconds after pressing the delete key.
Note: We are not doing a right click and deleting the rows. This is a highlight of the 5000 rows and pressing the delete keyboard key to clear the data.
We've tried disabling the Auto Save and the Workbook Calculation changed to Manual.
Dell is no help, Microsoft is no help. This process can be replicated on multiple Dell machines and with Operating Systems of XP SP2, SP3 and Vista, machines with single drives, raided systems and even a machine with a solid state drive. All have 2GB of RAM or more.

I'm using Xl 07 and need to combine two sheets of contact info and have them sorted alphabetically.
Each contact entry takes the follwing form(comma's denote new columns)
55555, Name , John, Smith, Tel: , 555-555-5555
ID , Company, XXX , , Email, xxxxxx
Each sheet has a list of 200 or so entries about 400 rows long. The entries on each sheet are sorted in alphabetical order. the names also alternate alphabetically from sheet to sheet. So when i look at the entries on my final sheet, the 1st will be from sheet1 the second from sheet2 the third from sheet1 and the fourth from sheet2 etc.
I'm not sure whether I should build a new list by pulling alternating entries from each sheet or just copy one list below the other and then try to sort it somehow.

Writing code in VBA for splitting data into multiple sheets?
The split needs to be based on value in one of the columns and the sheet where the data will be sent to should get sheet name same as value in the column.

My Excel program (Excel 2010) currently has several columns and each column looks for and pulls data from a specific file on my computer. Then I need to delete any duplicate data entries, count the number of unique entries and track the changes through a chart. I have everything done except I cannot figure out (or find on the internet) a way to search in multiple columns (more than 2) and delete just the duplicate cells. I want to delete the cells in a way where there is one left. For example if the code 12gf is duplicated three time, I want to be left with one 12gf (it doesnt matter what column the original one is left in). Additionally, column length changes and they are not sorted. I have attempted to attach an image of an example file below.

I got the following script from another site. What it is intended to do is that it has three columns in a sheet.
Column A = Folder Name
Column B = Sender Name or Mail Subject
Column C = Values for Column B
Based on what values are in Column C (sender name or email subject), it will then look at the mails in outlook within the 'inbox' folder and look for the matching criteria and if it finds a match, move it to the folder named in column A (if folder does not exist, create folder)
Running the script, I get runtime error '438' object does not know property or method - on the line highlighted in red. I am using office 2007 and looking at the code, it is using late binding so no reference library is needed?
Code:
Option Explicit
Const olFolderInbox = 6
Sub moveOutlookMails()
Dim wkb As Workbook
Dim wks As Worksheet

I have a spreadsheet with a serial number is row 1 in column A with the rest of Row 1 empty. Column A is empty in Row 2, but has the data associated with the row above in columns B through L of Row 2. Then comes 2 blank rows and the pattern repeats with a new serial number in column A of row 5 and so on. I would like to move the serial number down one row, delete the now empty first row, delete the following 2 empty rows, and then loop to do the same thing again for all 9000 rows of the spreadsheet.

I've already found a TON of threads about this process but nothing that matches specifically what I'm trying to do.
I have a spreadsheet that I'm using to auto fill other tabs with data that only matches specific criteria. Here's what I'm looking to do:
Columns I, J, K, and L may be marked as either Y or N (or blank). I have different sheets that require 1, 2, 3, or 4 of those columns to match Y. For example, on sheet 2 I want to copy the entire row if there's a "Y" match on column I and J. On sheet 3 I want to match "Y" against, I, J, and K. Sheet 4 I need to match only L, etc.
I need the data copied into the existing sheets to start on row 7. I have other data on rows 1-6 that cannot be moved.
I'm running Excel 2007.
