I have some code that consolidates data from 4 sheets in different workbooks into one sheet on a separate workbook. I'd like to add a validation check to make sure that all rows are copied and pasted.
Specifically, I would like to total the # of rows in each worksheet and compare that # to the total # of rows in the consolidated worksheet. On some of the worksheets, the code deletes the header row and/or the last row. So, the count of the rows should happen after those rows are deleted. If not all the rows are copied, a message box should pop up saying "Not all rows copied".

I have two work sheets in excel, and I would like to compare the rows. Sheet1 will be the original data, and if sheet2 has a different number in column L the data needs to be copied over to a new sheet. In addition, I need the number in column L sheet1 copied over and subtract the two numbers. The following columns need to compared G,I, J and L. when sheet2 has a new row, copy the new over. the rows can be in the 100s. Here is an example on shee1, sheet2 and out com on sheet3
I need to track only certain tasks id's out of entire task id database. I have 1 column of data on sheet "A" that represents task id's I want to track. On sheet "B" I have multiple columns of data, the first column being the task id's. I need to compare the column on sheet A with the first column on sheet B. If there is a matching task id, I need to copy the entire row of data from sheet "B" on to a new sheet "C". If there is no matching task id on sheet "B", I would like to copy just the task id. Each week I would get a new set of data for sheet "B" (which can vary in length) and I need the ability add or subtract task id's on sheet "A" that need tracking. See the attached xls file for a piece of sample data.
I have I workbook that contains 2 sheets. The first sheet "Business Objects" is the master list. The second sheet "Gene" contains similar data but is incomplete. There is a unique identifer for both sheets and that is item ID. what I would like to do is look at the Item ID column on sheet1 compare it to SS# on sheet two and copy any rows from sheet1 to the end of the sheet in sheet 2. I have found in my searches on this forum a bit of code that identifies the ones in sheet1 that are not in Sheet2 and highlights them red(which is not neccessary for me, but I am struggling to figure out how to take that and paste it to sheet2.

I need to build a macro which copies 3 rows every day and pastes the row data into an identical sheet. The three rows will have column "D" as =today(). As the days progress the three rows will change accordingly ( tag to the today's date)

I need the macro to recognize the date when pressed and copy the corresponding rows of data and paste them into an identical sheet with the same date. The second sheet is an archive sheet. The date will tick over as per the calendar.
I am working in the attached spreadsheet. For anyone who does not wish to open the link, let's say these sheets are titled 'Sheet1' and 'Sheet2'.

Now, how may I pull this data into a summary sheet (Sheet1) that skips over any instances where column A ("Year") is blank so it looks like this:

Note: All columns are the EXACT same across each sheet(including Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3), if that extra piece of information works.
PS It is fine if, in order for a formula to work, I need to copy and paste the formula for the length of rows per each Sheet to consolidate.

So, in my industry, any summary-level data (shown on Sheet1) must have a linked reference to a particular sheet (Sheet2, Sheet3, etc.) so the user knows where the raw data came from. This is to ensure increased accuracy of data and minimize human error (like, if for example, I accidentally didn't copy and paste all the rows correctly).
I have uploaded the actual sheet to show what the data actually look like. I am trying to pull in 2013 data into my "Summary Page" and would like to have all the data linked to the '2013' sheet but skip any blank rows.

I want to design a search form in excel that will lokk for the values in excelsheet and when match occurs then pop up those rows in listbox in the form. There are different criterias: one is Client_no or Policy_no ,If the person knows this no then he can simply type it in the textnox and press search and then the matching row will be displayed in listbox. If the user doesn't know the policy_no then he can try other things in the frame e.g First name,Last name,any part of address(so hopefully we'll use like operator here),Postcode.
The data is spread across worksheets however the first column of every worksheet contains same data (eg. Name). Evenso, the rows wont correspond each other across worksheets. eg.

Is there anyway to correspond these rows and add blank rows so that if Lance is in 3 rows in WS 1 it will be the same in WS 2 as well even though some rows are blank? And vice versa?
I have 2 sheets that have 15 columns and approximately 200 rows on average, but the number of rows varies from week to week. I need to compare the information on sheet 3 to the information on sheet 1 by row. There are actually 3 worksheets total, but the 2nd worksheet is not involded in this macro. If the 2nd-14th columns are an exact match, I need to have the date from the first column and the notes from the 15th column (the formatting has to be copied too!!!) on the first sheet copied over to the matching row on the third sheet into the 1st and 15th columns, and the 16th-18th rows on the first sheet need to be copied over to the third sheet as well. After all this is done, the row on the first sheet needs to be deleted.
I need it to compare all of the rows this way, and unfortunately, I think it is going to have to loop through every row on the 1st sheet for every row it is comparing from the 3rd sheet.
I know this will take quite a while to compare, but given this takes me a couple hours on average, letting the macro run for 5 or 10 minutes is a vast improvement
In attached spreadsheet, I have run my marco on Col A to tag which records are duplicates (macro in workbook). Now, of the records that are tagged "DUP", I would like to find which cells in Cols B, C, D, etc. have changed - ie., compare the first "DUP" record to the second "DUP" record. Some records and 2 DUPs, others have 3, 4, etc. I only want to compare the tagged "DUP" groups. Changing the cell color (or other type of tagging) the difference is acceptable.
i have a database. column a is the last name. column b is the first name. column c is a person's title. i regularly have to merge this database with another from another department and compare to see that all staff are processed and that titles are correct. i have been trying to write a formula that can pull from the contents in any given row, search the rest of the sheet to find if there is an identical person listed and finally let me know if the title is the same. i just need a "true" or a "false" if both conditions are met.
I'd like to find an excel solution to match what out what sales a customer knows versus what we have in our system. I've searched this board but can't find anything similar. In the below example, sheet 1 would be what came out of our system, and sheet 2 would be what the customer has emailed....
I have attached an example of what I need the macro for. I really need it to look at the columns with the names (Girth Weld, Weld) and the Joint length column to make its moves. Mainly the joint length. I think that would get me on track and give me some room to explore and learn what else I need to do. I love to try and figure things out but this is killing me!

I want to start with the membership number in cell A1 on sheet 1 and look for that membership number on sheet 2 (also col A). If there is a match, it copies the matching row from sheet 2 to sheet 3 (pasting it in a new row starting at 1)
If it does not match then the cell in sheet 1 is highlighted
I have two tables with "X" and <Blank> data. The tables share the same column headers. I want to compare the rows of each table and if the rows contain an "X" in the same column then it puts an "X" in the third table. I have attached a sample file with my expected results on the third worksheet. I have created named ranges if that helps the formula writing.

Sumproduct seems to do the trick if I turn the "X" into "1" and <blank> into "0". If there is a match the value is greater than "1".

I prefer to use "X" though if I can. I would like to automate the formula instead of manually adjusting the ranges for every cell.
I'm trying to do is compare 4 columns on 2 sheets. I would like to go down in column "E" on sheet1 and find the exact one on column "A" on sheet2. Once these are equal I would compare F, G, H, on sheet1 with B, C, D on sheet2. If the these three columns are not the same I would like to copy from sheet2 B, C, D from sheet2 to F, G, H.
The problem I have is none of the rows of information will be in sequential order as well as we may not have a match. What I'm saying is row1 on sheet1 could be row1000 on sheet2. Attached is a small example. in the example rows 6, 11, 12, 16 and 19 would be the only changes on sheet1. My example does have the rows in sequential but that would almost never be the case for me....
I need to run the same database dump every day and find the differences. Both spreadsheets will have the same column headings, with Column A being the lookup value. Each spreadsheet will have many columns of data. I need to find the differences from Row 1 on spreadsheet A with Row 1 on spreadsheet B.
Example: Spreadsheet 1, Column A value is 900026. Need to find 900026 in Column A on Spreadsheet 2. Compare all the data in each column to see what has changed. If anything has changed on Spreadsheet, copy the row from Spreadsheet 2 onto a new sheet and 'tag' which data has changed.
Also, again using Column A as the identifier, if there are rows on data on Spreadsheet 1 that do not appear on Spreadsheet 2, copy the entire row onto a new sheet and tag it as "Not on new datadump". I am not a programer by trade so I can't figure out what I need to do to solve my problem. I need to compare two worksheets to each other and only keep the rows of data that match. I am comparing address's in each worketsheet with each of them located in column C in each worksheet.

I have a spreadsheet that I need to delete duplicate rows in. However, in order to determine if a row is a duplicate I need to check 2 cells per row. In the attached file you will see that each row has 4 cells. I need to compare the cells in columns B and C with the B and C cells of the Row beneath. If the B and C cells match then it is considered a duplicate and one of the rows needs to be deleted. Also, there may be multiple duplicate rows.
For an example see rows 17, 18 and 19. I only need 1 row to remain.

I have a spreadsheet which will have several rows of data.
What I need is for some code to locate the duplicate values in the left most active column and then look over the rows that they are populating and delete and cells that are not present in each of the rows pertaining to the duplicate value in 1st Column and if possible remove all the blanks.

I am fitting 2 sets of data to match eachother. I want to have as much data as possible but only for the same dates of each dataset.
I have 4 coloumns. Dataset 1: A is date B is data Dataset 2: C is date D is data
I want to compare A vs B one row at a time. If they are not similar it should delete and shift up the values in A+B or C+D according to the lowest value (date) of A vs B.
Remember that if the macro just deleted and shifted up it should compare the same (undeleted) value against the new value that just shifted up in the other coloumn.
I have the below macro (kindly provide by VoG) which compares rows of data from columns H-P, excluding M, where two rows match across the criteria, the macro takes the first of these matches and copies to sheet2, where there is no match it copies each entry to sheet 3. It works fine except for 1 thing, the data that I am comparing comes in 2 types of rows, coloured yellow and green (color codes 36, 35 in Excel 2003). I would like to add a further condition so that the macro will not match off where 2 yellow or green rows appear together and where a yellow and green row match it will take copy the yellow row to sheet 2 regardless of whether the yellow or green appear first in sequence.

I have a large data file. In column A is 8760 entries (every hour of every day of the year). Columns D & E are linked, Column D is the time and date whilst Column E is a parameter assocaied with that time and date.
There should also be 8760 entries in these columns, however there are some missing data lines in columns D & E. I would therefore like to move the rows in columns D & E so they match with the entries in column A. Can anyone help? I have a headache as i have over 70 files to complete this operation on.
