Auto-Populate Column Data From Source Sheet After Selecting From Dropdown List

I'm trying to make a spreadsheet that can be used to easily build a collective list of steps, for a user to read and follow line-by-line.

I want a source sheet of "steps" that I can change over time, and the resulting tabs that reference the source sheet get updated/populated automatically.

I've pieced together some VBA code from other sources, which kind of does what I want it to:

But there are some problems:

1) The data auto-populates into a row. It would read better if each step was in the same column, meaning rows would need to be automatically added upon selecting something from the drop-down list. The number of rows that need to be added vary based on the number of steps in the source sheet, for the selection made from the drop-down list.

2) If you make a change to the source sheet, my goal is to have the other sheets referencing the source sheet's lists of steps update automatically, so you only need to update the steps in one spot and everything you've built from them gets updated instantly. Currently, you must select a different choice from the drop-down list, and then change it back, before it populates the "new" steps from the source sheet.

This is my first time using VBA.

I have two worksheet. One worksheet is a form where in the Field Door No. should be a dropdown list. The list will be retrieve from worksheet Source. Now upon selecting a specific Door No. it should also autopopulate the respective Type, Brand, Serial No., and Type.

First thing i need to know is what should i do on Cell B1 worksheet Form for it to be a drop down list retrieving the Column A on worksheet Source.

Second, upon selecting for example ATC0009 on the drop-down, it should auto-populate like these

Type AT Crane
Brand A
Serial 43679
Type Crane

I have a dropdown list in C24:C50 (=CategoryList) with data validation and a sub list in D24:D50 (=ItemList) with data validation. I am looking for a way to have code automatically run after selecting an item in the data validation dropdown list in column C.

Example; I click on C24 and make a selection. I what it to trigger code that would move me to D24 and open up the data validation list in D24. After the selection in D24 I would like it to move me back and down 1 row to C25. I have not found anything directly related to this but I have found that code can be run after a selection in a valadition list.

I am looking to auto generate a roster/schedule. I have a spreadsheet with shifts for each weekday that I need to populate every week with names to pick from a drop down list. the drop down list is made using data validation and looks at a dynamic named range to allow me to select only the people who are available to work a certain shift.

Is there a way to do this using vba?

I have a workbook with two spreadsheets, one blank and one with a Header row and a list of employee names and random dates that will continue to be added to at the bottom per a copy and paste.

What I need is to have a form dropdown on the blank sheet (per a cell reference) that shows employee names and dates that has that name next to it in the data sheet.

The employee names are in three columns Last, First, and Middle and the dates are in a separate column (A).

I guess I need a VLOOKUP that can take the range and pull into the dropdown the employee name and every date associated with that name.

Creating A Dropdown List Using Matching Data From 2 Columns To Populate The List

I'm creating a spreadsheet to keep track of my costs of production in an online game. Within the game there are a range of spawned resources that appear for only a short time before being unobtainable these resources have specific types that is shared between multiple spawns of the resource but each resource spawn has a unique name.

My first worksheet lists all the resources and their various qualities and the later worksheets are meant to allow me to choose from a list resources matching the requirements of the item I'm looking to craft. The example i have shown in the second picture requires Tatooinian Fiberplast and Lokian Wild Wheat to craft so in the Chosen Resource column I would like to have a drop down list allowing me to select the named resource type i would like to use - for Tatooinian Fiberplast the only thing on the list should be Omnitwixi and for the Wild Wheat it should show Fizi and Krad

Add A New Column Of Data To The Results Displayed When Selecting From A Dropdown Box

I have a dropdown box to choose a category.
When the category is chosen it displays the relevant course names which corresponds to that category (this could be 1 course up to 10 different courses).
Along with that course name it gives the relevant course overview.

This works exactly how i want it to. (thanks to Zbor from a previous thread)

I now want to expand further and give the corresponding course objectives for each course that shows up in the results.

I have attached a workbook as its much easier to see the dropdown box working.

Sheet 2 is the working sheet and sheet 1 will contain all the source data.
I have highlighted the columns affected in Blue Blue column on sheet 1 will have the course objectives on the same line as the course they belong to Blue column on sheet 2 is where they will be displayed when the correct category selection is made.

The course objectives are unique to the course title and course overview.

Auto-Populate Excel Sheet From Master Sheet Of Data

In this attached example, this is a portion of a actual work procedure. The yellow highlighted cells are the same work element within the master procedure but one is for one type of machine while the other is for same model but added options. This is a pattern throughout the entire worksheet. Basically 1 model with several different types of options. I don't want to have unnecessary elements in a work procedure.

So what I am trying to accomplish, I want to create a userform or dashboard which will allow selection of model #, model type #, then based off those selections have excel populate a worksheet with all correct procedures based off model type choice.

In this example there is 6 model variations, all share same basic procedure, but all have their own work procedure based on options, so my above approach will allow me to make changes to the master procedure only instead of changing 6 procedures.

Create New Sheet For Each Row Of Another Sheet Auto Populate Data.

i have a sheet called 'sample database'. it consists of 56 columns, each with a specific title in row 1. i.e. name, surname, mobile_number, and so on.
from row 2 onwards the data has been populated for roughly 200 rows.

i have another 'Capture Sheet' which has the same titles as 'Sample database' except it's in a different format. its a printable form that is given to new employees when they start. once they have completed it it gets captured into the 'Sample Database' sheet.

my wifes boss now wants 1 new sheet for each row in the 'sample database' sheet based on the format/layout of the 'capture form'.
how can i get the 'capture form' to auto populate the data from the 'sample database' sheet and create a new sheet for each row?
i know this is possible i just dont know how to do it.

Simple Auto Populate Cell From Dropdown?

Every time a name is selected in column C12:C15, I need that respective row to populate with $10 in column J. When column C12:C15 is blank, I need that respective row to read $0 in cloumn J. It's either one (10) or the other (0).

There are rows above and below it as well that have nothing to do with this, so the formula/function would be specific to just this subset of rows (rows 12-15).

I get close, but can't seem to nail this simple formula/function down. I am unable to download any sheets due to my work's firewall.

Selecting Multiple Cells To Fill From Dropdown List

I've made a drop down list and when I select multiple cells and choose from the drop down list, it only fills one. Here's pictures:

So in that first picture, I've selected multiple cells. But when I drop down the menu and click my selection, this happens:

Why is it that all the cells I've selected does not fill with the option that I chose from the drop down. I highly doubt that I have to manually click all the ones I want to fill with what I choose from the drop down list.

I am having trouble with a number of workbooks when using vlookup (using the wizard rather than entering the formula directly)

First I select the cell with lookup value, then try to select the table array on the source sheet but the cursor changes to the hand symbol and I can't click on any cells. I have had this problem with many different workbooks. The only solution I have found is to copy the whole sheet, paste-special-values into a new sheet and use that as source.

I have a drop down list with 6 recipes. When I select chocolate for example I want that to automatically populate different cells in the worksheet based on a standard I have created for that recipe. The recipes won't change they just have different ingredients and I want that to show up depending on what I select on the drop down list. I went into VBA and worked a little with this starting code:

but It wouldn't populate separately based on what I had selected in the drop down it would just populate all 6 recipes the same.

Basically on a summary page, on sheet 1 say I have a formula which picks up the unit cost (I have this as an array across 5 years)

What I then want to do is multiply this by a volume driver. I have a list of these drivers on a seperate page, so for convenience lets say DRIVER_01,DRIVER_02 etc. These are also 5 years arrays.

So what I want to do it be able to select which driver I want to use for volume on the summary, from a drop down box I have set up, and then the formula pick up that named range, and not just recognise it as a text cell.

I need the ability to change the driver in the future, hence the drop down box. I can also get the unit array part to work fine, I'm just struggling to get this driver array to work..............

it has been eye opening to say the least. I have a question however, I am in the process of creating a workbook of different things for my construction company and I am stuck. Is there a way that I can pull a cost code from a drop down and have whatever data is inputted into the cell to the right automatically transfered to a budget report (another sheet)? Example - Inputting time for my crews - select a code from the drop down list say for "concrete" Then I input the crews hours per day in subsequent columns and then sum it up at the final column. Can the sum of the hours worked doing "concrete" then automatically be transposed to the budget in the "concrete" section?

how to make all cells displaying an item from the list source update with new information added to list source.

Example:
Cell "A1" on worksheet 2 displays the 3rd slot of information from list source on worsheet 5. I want cell "A1" on worksheet 2 to update when the list source information in the 3rd slot on worksheet 5 is changed.

Notes:
The list is set up by naming the columns on Worksheet 5 and is set as a validation list on the other worksheets. So on Worksheet 2 column "A" has the validation

VB:
AutoLinked keywords will cause extra spaces before keywords. Extra spacing is NOT transferred when copy/pasting, but IS if the keyword uses "quotes".

Auto-populate Userform From Course List

Some Background info:
This is my first post! I am a total novice when it comes to VBA in Excel (but I'm a fast learner!), so please bear with me if my question is either obvious or easy (or if this is a question that's been asked 14980213 times already). I have some programming experience, but all in C or C++, not in VBA--this makes the project challenging. I also have to hand this off in a few months and trust that it'll never break, ever--more challenging.

I'm trying to make a Participant Tracking System for some workshops we offer. The intent is to make a userform so that an administrator can input all the information for the participant in question. One important question on the form is which course the participant intends to take; the snag is that the current list may change over time.

The Spreadsheet is set up with Course headings starting at R8C8, and continuing across for all 16 courses we currently offer. The data for the participant is entered into Rows 1-7, and the date they completed the course in the appropriate column for that course. There are some formulas in Rows 1-7, the important one here counts up the number of classes currently offered.

So, below is the code i'm trying to use, at least to start. I am making a combobox that has all of the available classes.

I used to have a line that replaced the following chunk.

Range(R8Cy).Select
ClassList(iCount) = ActiveCell

It read

ClassList(iCount) = R8Cy

and did nothing for me at all.

When I initialize the userform, I get a blank combobox. It doesn't do what I want it to do, but that's probably because I'm telling it to do something weird.
